The evening kicked off with an intimate discussion with FERG, bringing his VIP fans closer to the multihyphenate. FERG gave insights into his storied career, ranging from stories behind his new album DAROLD to his fashion journey, in conversation with Billboard host Tetris Kelly.

When asked about the legacy he wants to leave behind, FERG enlightened fans: “If I can do anything, it’s to inspire the next generation, or somebody, to want to do better for themselves, you know what I’m saying?” he shared, “And do better for humanity. Figure out your purpose, figure out your ‘why.’ Why are we here? Why are we doing what we do?”

The party continued as doors opened, filling the room with excitement as concert goers grabbed their favorite White Claw® beverages and got ready for a night of fun and music Anticipation was high as the crowd waited for the show to begin, knowing that they would be some of the first to hear songs from FERG’s new album DAROLD live. Zeemuffin warmed up the crowd with today’s biggest hip-hop hits as fans enjoyed drinks, dancing, photos and merchandise to commemorate the night. Larry June followed her set with an energetic performance that got his fellow Californians moving, showing off his dance moves to hits including “Clocked In.”

FERG closed out the night with a set balancing tracks from his new album DAROLD with earlier fan favorites. He opened the set to the explosive new track “Thought I Was Dead,” following it with other star-studded DAROLD selects including “French Tips” featuring Coco Jones and “Demons” with Denzel Curry. Despite the fact that DAROLD had dropped less than two weeks before the event, many fans knew the words and rapped along. “Now last but not least, you know I can’t leave this place without doing this one song that I got,” teased FERG as he approached the end of his set, “What song y’all think I’m finna do?” After the crowd chanted in response, the headliner gave fans one last performance of his biggest song to date: “Plain Jane.”

It’s the CMA’s and we’re celebrating our No.1 country artist of all time, the queen of country music herself, Dolly Parton! Out of one hundred top country artists, Dolly reigned supreme as number one per our editorial staff so we’re counting down Billboard’s top 10 staff picks for best Dolly Parton songs of all time! At No.10 is one of her early top 20 hits on the Hot 100, “Two Doors Down.” Dolly shared the unlikely inspiration for the song on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.’ The No.9 song is definitely one that helped make Dolly a pop icon, “9 to 5.” The song was written for the 1980 film of the same name which Dolly Parton also starred in. The song was not only a commercial success, earning her first No.1 on the Hot 100. It also served as an anthem for working women everywhere in the early 1980s. “9 to 5” earned Dolly nominations from both the Grammys and Oscars and has continued to build her legacy. At No.8 is a song that is very close to Dolly’s heart, “Coat of Many Colors.” The inspiration for the song is from a coat that Dolly’s mother made for her. A replica for the coat was a popular attraction at Dollywood for many years. No.7 is a song that continued Dolly’s success on the charts, “Love is Like a Butterfly.” The song was Dolly’s 5th No.1 on the Hot Country Songs chart. At No.6 is a song Dolly Parton covered and made all her own, “Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You.” The song was written by accomplished songwriter Pebe Sebert. Pebe’s daughter, Kesha also did a cover of the song for her EP ‘Deconstructed’ in 2012. The No.5 song helped establish Dolly as a premiere singer/songwriter, “Touch Your Woman.” The song helped Dolly earn another top 10 on the Hot Country Songs chart. At No.4 is widely considered Dolly Parton’s signature song, “Jolene.” The song became her second No.1 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

La Flame revealed that he’ll be redesigning Coachella’s festival grounds with a Cactus Jack touch and hinted that there will be a “new chapter” too where he’ll debut music from his next era for the fans in attendance at the Empire Polo Club.

“NEW CHAPTER NEW PERFORMANCE NEW COACHELLA BY LA FLAME AND CACTUS JACK,” he wrote to IG. “FIRST OF ITS KIND PS YALL [ninja emoji] GOT TILL APRIL CAUSE IM COMING.”

The flyer features Scott’s name and reads, “Designs the desert.” He’s slated to headline Saturday night’s performance at the pair of April weekends (April 12, April 19). Scott’s ragers were hyped at hearing Trav will be entering his next era and hopefully delivering an album in 2025 surrounding his Coachella headlining performance, which will be the first time he hits the famed festival’s stage in eight years.

“It’s going to be a beast of an Album. Travis Scott putting his soul to this,” one fan wrote. Another opined: “We entering a new era, we already out the utopia era!”

Scott has taken on more creative control with his concerts recently. He recently designed the set turning ComplexCon into CactusCon with his performance in Las Vegas earlier this month.

Coachella revealed its full lineup on Wednesday and the star-studded affair includes Post Malone, Lady Gaga and Green Day as headliners in the desert.

In the midst of his MetLife Stadium show in October, Travis told the New Jersey audience that concert would be the final of the Utopia era, which means the new era of Scott is upon us for 2025.

Trav’s last album, Utopia, arrived in August 2023 and the anticipated LP debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 496,000 total album units earned.

Chappell Roan, Mk.gee, Doechii & More Feature on BBC Radio 1 Sound of 2025 Longlist

BBC Radio 1 shared details of its Sound of 2025 longlist on Wednesday (Nov. 20).

Among the shortlisted acts for the annual new music prize are Chappell Roan, Mk.gee, Doechii and Confidence Man. Also included on the list are Mercury Prize 2024 winners English Teacher, as well as contemporary jazz group Ezra Collective, who scooped the trophy the year prior. 

Last year’s BBC Sound of poll was won by baroque-pop band The Last Dinner Party, with runners-up including Olivia Dean, Peggy Gou and Tyla. Notable previous winners include Adele (2008), Florence + The Machine (2009), Sam Smith (2013) and Sam Fender (2019).

This year’s selected judging panel was made up of over 180 artists and industry tastemakers, including journalists, radio pluggers and broadcasters, as well as global superstars Dua Lipa and Elton John. Further details of the panel and how the list was compiled are available via BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2025 website.

The top five from the list will be revealed in early January on Radio 1. Each day from Jan. 6 through Jan. 10, a countdown will take place to reveal the eventual winner. 

In December, Radio 1 will host a special gig hosted by Jack Saunders and Sian Eleri, two of the station’s presenters. BBC Radio 1 Sound of 2025 LIVE will take place on Dec. 2 at London’s Maida Vale studios with performances from artists on the longlist. Fans can apply for tickets on the BBC Shows and Tours website until Nov. 27.

“The Radio 1 Sound of 2025 list this year is one of the strongest in a while,” said Saunders in a press release. “It’s a reflection of the freedom artists are feeling creatively at the moment. Can’t wait to see who the top five are!”

Co-host Eleri added: “I am in awe of Sound of 2025’s longlisters. What a roster! It is such a heady mix of musical styles – there really is something for everyone. Throughout my teens I always looked forward to seeing this longlist drop to discover who’ll be the next ‘big thing.’ If this list is anything to go by, 2025 is gonna be one hell of a year. They define the promise of today, and the stars of tomorrow.”

CMA Awards 2024: Photos From the Red Carpet

The 2024 CMA Awards are officially here, with country’s biggest and brightest stars taking over the red carpet at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

Morgan Wallen leads this year’s nominees with seven nods. Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton follow with five nods each, while Post Malone and Lainey Wilson each got four. Louis Bell, Luke Combs, Charlie Handsome, Hoskins, Jelly Roll, Megan Moroney and Kacey Musgraves all received three nominations.

The show — hosted by Luke Bryan, Peyton Manning and Wilson — will also feature a number of star-studded performances. Bryan, Combs, Johnson, Moroney, Musgraves, Malone, Stapleton, Wilson, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Eric Church, Riley Green, Sierra Hull, Jelly Roll, Noah Kahan, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, Ella Langley, Ashley McBryde, Thomas Rhett, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, Molly Tuttle and Bailey Zimmerman are all set to take the stage.

TDE to Host 11th Annual Christmas Concert & Toy Drive Featuring Performances by SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Doechii & More

As TDE continues to celebrate their 20th anniversary, the Compton record label has announced their 11th annual Christmas concert, toy drive, and community giveback. SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Doechii, Isaiah Rashad, SiR, Ab-Soul, Ray Vaughn, Zacari and Kal Banx are all set to perform alongside special guests. Prior special guests have included the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Big Sean, and A$AP Ferg, so you wouldn’t want to miss out if you’re in town.

First, on Thursday, Dec. 12, there will be a concert and toy drive and then, on Friday, Dec. 13, family friendly activities, a raffle with gift giveaways, and a job fair that offers employment on site, and are aligned with creating reentry pathways for ex-offenders. They’ll also be giving away free haircuts and family holiday photos like you used to get at the local department store. If you want to get into the concert, fans can gain entry by bringing unwrapped toys, new clothes/shoes, or other donations.

The two-day event presented by TDE’s charity Top Dawg Love the Kids, has become a holiday tradition for Nickerson Garden residents in the Watts neighborhood and surrounding LA communities.

TDE founder Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith and TDE rapper Jay Rock both grew up in the Nickerson Garden Housing Projects and this is a way for them to give back to the community that helped shape them into the successful men they are today.

Gates open for the concert on Dec. 12 at 11:00 a.m. PST and Community Giveback on Dec. 13 will be from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. PST. Both will be located at 11251 Compton Ave. Los Angeles, C.A. 90059.

Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Joy Oladokun are among the winners of the inaugural PLUS1 Impact Awards, presented by Wasserman Music. The awards honor leaders and innovators in the music industry who are driving positive social change through their commitment to philanthropy, community engagement and environmental action.

These Are All the Electronic Artists Playing Coachella 2025

The 2025 Coachella lineup has been announced unusually early, and again — as always — the bill is heavy on electronic artists.

Some of the biggest electronic artists who’ll be playing the prestige festival next spring include U.K. legends The Prodigy, progressive trance icons Above & Beyond, EDM architect Zedd, German trio Keinemusic, Brazilian star Alok, psych-electronic trio Darkside, hard techno upstart Sara Landry, Dutch wunderkind Mau P and genre pioneers Kraftwerk.

The festival has several stages exclusively dedicated to dance: the club-style Yuma Tent and the Quasar Stage, which was newly added to the festival in 2024 and focused on extended sets. Beyond these spaces, the lineup at the Sahara Tent is typically almost entirely electronic, with electronic acts also placed throughout the rest of the festival’s stages and tents.

Coachella returns to Indio, Calif., over two weekends, on April 13-15 and 20-22; 2025 headliners are Green Day, Lady Gaga and Post Malone, with a special set from Travis Scott.
