Stephen A. Smith has the reputation of being a fiery commentator from his years at the top of the sports talk show world, and now it looks like he’s got beef in that arena. In a new video, Stephen A. Smith took heavy shots toward fellow sports journalism and reported MAGA enthusiast Jason Whitlock which has X reacting.
Smith, 56, published a new episode of his The Stephen A. Smith Show framed as a response to Jason Whitlock. It appears that the beef has been brewing for a while after Whitlock claimed that Smith’s memoir, Straight Shooter: A Memoir of Second Chances and First Takes, was nothing but a bunch of tall tales.
As is Whitlock’s typical tactic, the sports commentator known for his outsized right-wing takes and harsh critique of Black people never ducks an opportunity to use his platforms to take shots. According to people who have observed this behavior over time, they’ve said that Whitlock is fishing for a reaction and an attempt to gain momentum for his various endeavors.
Whitlock responded on X, writing, “Stephen A Smith, the self-proclaimed face of ESPN, embarrassed himself and ESPN last night. He vows to never say my name again. No problem. He doesn’t have to say my name to explain the hard-to-believe stories in his “memoir.” Amazed seemingly no media outlet in the country is interested in why the face of ESPN tells so many farfetched stories about himself in a book. Make it make sense.”
Well, it appears that Smith has had enough. In the latest episode of his podcast, he opened up the show by saying that while there were several topics in the sports world to get into, it was time for him to fire back at Whitlock, whom he referred to as a “fat b*stard” and a “piece of sh*t” in the opening segment.
It is an explosive and intense display of anger, irritation, and frustration that is starting to buzz heavily on social media. As a result, fans on X, formerly Twitter, are chiming in with their thoughts complete with the requisite jokes and such.

The upcoming event features footage from Doja’s sold-out stop in Detroit in 2023 and if you’ve checked out the Scarlet star’s live performances previously, you already know to expect eye-popping visuals and breathtaking vocals from one of music’s best performers.
“Bringing The Scarlet Tour to life was an amazing experience for me. Taking it from an idea to real life and sharing that with my fans at arenas was surreal and rewarding. To now be able to share the live show through VR with Meta and The Diamond Bros for ‘Doja Cat: The Scarlet Tour in VR’ is a perfect way for fans who did not get to come to a show to feel like they did,” Doja shared in a statement. “I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have created.”
The concert was produced and directed by The Diamond Bros and Josh Diamond shared in the following statement, “Doja Cat’s dynamic performance and stage design seemed almost purpose-built for VR. Between the immersive show direction and unique triangular stage, we couldn’t wait to capture it. We are beyond excited to have collaborated with Doja Cat and Meta on creating this unforgettable experience.”
Music Valley is a virtual desert concert venue with a mainstage screen that has featured the likes of Victoria Monèt, Jung Kook, Jack Harlow, and more. Meta Quest 2 and 3 owners can enter Meta Horizon Worlds and take a trip to Music Valley for free.

The immigration ordeal that 21 Savage endured back in 2019 leading to his arrest will get a stylistic depiction via film starring actors Donald Glover and Caleb McLaughlin. Both actors will portray 21 Savage at various stages of his life and a new trailer shows off the pair, face tattoos and all.
Stylized on YouTube as the american dream: the 21 savage story, the trailer for the film, directed by Stephen Glover, Jamal Olori, Fam Udeorji, and Luis Perez, opens with Donald Glover, donning dreadlocks, being arrested by ICE officials and hauled off to prison. As the clip progresses, Caleb McLaughlin, playing the younger version of 21, is seen facing off with the rapper inside an interrogation room, displaying 21 delivering a new song.
Further in the clip, actress Gail Bean, apparently playing a family member of 21, speaks to McLaughlin in character, and another scene shows popular social media star Druski bullying the rapper. Later in the trailer, Glover depicts in a scene how 21 arrived at his stage name while in a recording studio.
Written by Jamal Olori and Stephen Glover, the film does not yet have a release date but is created in conjunction with Lionsgate, Epic Records, and 21 Savage’s Slaughter Gang imprint. The film also stars Jabari Banks, Chad Lindberg, Victoria Pedretti, Young Mazino, and Natasha Lyonne.
One can imagine with the Glover brothers involved, the film will take twists and turns outside of a normal biopic. Check out the trailer below.

Jonathan Majors made his first appearance since his 2023 domestic violence trial that ended in the celebrated actor being found guilty by the jury of two misdemeanors. Sitting with ABC News Live, Jonathan Majors spoke about the verdict, his feelings in the aftermath, and once more evoked the name of the late Coretta Scott King has fans on X piling on the jokes.
Jonathan Majors, 34, explained during the chat with ABC News Life that he was shocked by the verdict and believed that his defense team compiled enough evidence to sway things in his favor. The interview, which went live Monday (January 8) was promoted heavily throughout the weekend with edited clips that certainly drummed up interest in the full discussion.
Majors did say that his relationship with Grace Jabbari was not ideal and that the pair had their clashes but claims he’s never physically abused her. During the trial, it came out the Majors expected Jabbari to embody the class and grace of Coretta Scott King, the wife of slain civil rights leader, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
Some of the details of the trial, which revealed that Majors expected Jabbari, who is white, to embody Scott King’s image, garnered plenty of reactions on X, formerly Twitter, and now comments are exploding on the social media network once more. In the ABC interview, Majors said of his current girlfriend, actress Meagan Good, that she is his “Coretta” and that she held him down.

A judge in Las Vegas, Nev. was attacked in court after denying a man probation, and the entire moment was caught on camera. Judge Mary Kay Holthus handed down a sentence for Deobra Redden on a charge of attempted battery with substantial bodily harm and denied his probation, which prompted Redden to shout curses and leap over the judge’s desk while landing on top of her.
Local outlet KSNV reports that Judge Mary Kay Holthus was overseeing the sentencing hearing for Deobra Redden on Wednesday (January 3) and told his legal team that she believes jail time was best for their client. After Redden’s attorney suggested probation and Redden himself said he was in a better place, Judge Holthus thought otherwise.
“I think it’s time that he gets a taste of something else,” Holthus responded. “Because I just can’t with that history,” this after prosecutors shared Redden’s criminal history with the judge.
It was then that Redden began cursing at the judge and then leaped over the desk on top of her before the court marshal and another person was able to split the pair apart.
Court Information Officer Mary Ann Price offered the following in a statement to the outlet:
Deobra Redden was present for a sentencing hearing this morning, with regard to the charge of attempt battery with substantial bodily harm. During the hearing, Mr. Redden attacked Judge Mary Kay Holthus. Judge Holthus experienced some injuries and her condition is being monitored.
The marshal sustained injuries and has been transported to the hospital. Our understanding is that he is in stable condition. We commend the heroic acts of her staff, law enforcement, and all others who subdued the defendant. The court remains committed to a safe and secure courthouse and courtrooms. We are reviewing all our protocols and will do whatever is necessary to protect the judiciary, the public and our employees.
Redden was hit with 13 new charges after the attack, which includes six felonies and is due in court today (January 4).

Madonna kicked off her music career in the early 1980s and she has remained a fixture on the charts and touring circuit well into the 21st Century. However, a new video featuring the “Queen of Pop” has X users both slamming her for being a woman of a certain age with others praising her for doing so at this stage of life.
Madonna, 65, is currently on her North American The Celebration Tour, which honors her four-decade career in music. From what has been reported, the singer and actress has been wowing crowds with her hits and performances, but a clip posted by an X user has taken hold on the social media network.
An X user named @JebraFaushay clipped a TikTok video from the @madonnalivepop408 account of the singer performing “Ray Of Light” in a silver suit while holding a bar. While the clip makes it seem like Madonna is using the bar to support herself, it appears to be a safety precaution as another video shows the “Like A Virgin” star performing on an elevated and mobile pedestal.
As the ageist comments rolled on in droves on both TikTok and X, Public Enemy frontman Chuck D was among the many to defend Madonna for having the moves and energy to rock a crowd at her age while mentioning her use of pilates to stay in shape.
“At 63 i know i can bike better than i ever did and Pilates aint easy but i give it to @Madonna for pushing the bars … @FlavorFlav is taking Pilates too and hes 64. So ageism sometimes gets like racism both ways if you let it. For anyone over 50 the rule is either you do the songs or the songs do you. @Madonna has some hard songs to perform in her catalogue,” Chuck D wrote.

A church in Atlanta found itself the center of discussion online after videos from a New Year’s Eve service went viral. The dReam Center Church of Atlanta held service this past Sunday (December 31) and a moment showing attendees rocking out to “Swag Surfin’” has sparked an interesting debate.
As seen on local outlet 11 Alive, footage of the Sunday service from The dReam Center Church of Atlanta went wide and showed Pastor William Murphy leading his flock to dance to the song “Walk It Out” by Unk before opening the stage to play “Swag Surfin’” from Fast Life Yungstaz.
Pastor Murphy used the songs, most especially “Walk It Out,” to illustrate how he wants the flock to move into the new year, and this would seem to be a familiar bent for the churchgoers at dReam Center Church
From what we learned, dReam Center Church is known for its high-energy sermons and services, not unlike many churches nationwide that minister to a younger demographic. However, there are some of the faith who feel that the use of secular music in church is a clashing of worlds while others welcome the shift as a breath of fresh air.

Snoop Dogg is possibly the hardest-working man in Hip-Hop, as he picks up more side gigs than a jazz musician. The D-O-Double-G will join the NBC broadcast of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, adding to his sports broadcasting experience.
As seen at Olympics.com, Snoop Dogg, 52, will be in Paris as part of the coverage team for the 2024 Summer Olympics as a special correspondent. The announcement was shared during the halftime segment of Sunday Night Football’s contest between the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings.
Some might recall that Snoop has covered the Olympics after providing hilarious and expert commentary during the 2020 Summer Olympics, which took place in 2021 after a delay due to the pandemic.
“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris. It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness,” Snoop Dogg said in a press release.
Snoop continued,”We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix. It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?”
Snoop Dogg will join NBC Olympics host Mike Tirico and offer his takes and observations, no doubt exhibiting his usual Long Beach, Calif. coolness.
The Olympic Games Paris 2024 are scheduled for July 26 through August 11, 2024, and will air on NBC and its various cable network holdings.

If there is one celebrity couple we should all be rooting for, it’s Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. Earlier this year, the “Umbrella” singer and the “Am I Dreaming” rapper welcomed their second child, Riot Rose, into the world and now, Rihanna is gushing over the father of her children and opening up about how parenting has strengthened and deepened their relationship.
“I love him differently as a dad,” Rihana declared during an interview with Page Six. “This is major, major…it’s a turn-on. It’s just like, wow. What a leader, what a great, patient, loving…and my kids are obsessed with him.”

For what it’s worth, A$AP also appears to be fully immersed in his new role as a father of two. In November, was asked by Complex if he would ever consider collaborating with Rihanna on a project at Puma, the fashion company where they both work as the creative directors of their respective clothing lines.
It appeared that the only artistic collaboration the “Praise the Lord” rapper was interested in discussing was the collaborative art of creating life with the love of his life.
“What could we team up and just like f—ing smash and go crazy on?” Rocky pondered. “I think we do a real great job at collaborating and making children.”
“I think that’s our best creation so far,” he said of his sons. “Nothing’s better than that.”
Rihanna and A$AP are superstars with iconic careers, but right now it appears they’re just two new parents in love and involved in their roles as caregivers of their children. And at a time when we hear more about the drama in the lives of celebrity couples than we do about love and light, their apparent happiness is a breath of fresh air.
Black love in a Black family—it’s a beautiful thing.
