What Is Sling TV?
Sling TV is a TV streaming platform that’ll give you instant access to more than 30 live TV channels. Other streaming services like Apple TV+ and Netflix only provide you with on-demand shows and movies, but Sling TV will give you on-demand content and live TV channels to watch at your leisure. You can choose from three different packages: Orange, Blue and Orange + Blue depending on your budget and viewing preferences.
The Orange package is best for sports fans, as it includes channels like ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3, while the Blue package offers more entertainment channels such as Bravo, TLC and The Food Network. Each plan also includes DVR storage to record and watch programs later.
Don’t want to choose? You can also combine both with the Orange + Blue package, which will give you all 72 channels to livestream as well as the ability to stream on three devices at once.
What Are the Best Sling Streaming Deals?
There are a number of new Sling streaming deals online right now. New users can sign up here and take 25% off your first month of Sling TV. This promo is active on all three packages, which will knock the price down to as low as $30 (reg. $40). Since the Orange + Blue plan combines both packages, the price will be slightly more at $45 with the deal (reg. $55). Once your first month is up, you’ll be charged the regular subscription price based on the plan you choose at checkout.
The best part? No installation is required — once you sign up you’ll get instant access to live TV and on-demand movies and TV shows.
New users can also sign up for Discovery+ through Sling TV and enjoy a seven-day free trial of the streaming platform. Once the trial is over, you’ll be charged $4.99/month for the ad-supported plan or $6.99/month if you want to go ad-free. In order to activate the deal, you’ll need to sign up for Sling TV, then you’ll be able to add Discovery+ to your subscription.
The streaming platform comes with more than 70,000 channels and original content as well as 150+ live TV channels for streaming programs like Deadliest Catch, 90 Day Fiancé, Chopped, Naked and Afraid and MythBusters.
Sling TV is also rewarding new users who prepay for three months with an AirTV Anywhere and OTA Bundle for just $89. It’s only valid for new users and once your first three months are done, you’ll be charged monthly based on the package you choose at checkout.
With the AirTV Anywhere and OTA Bundle you’ll be able to watch TV shows and movies on up to four devices at one, stream live TV on the go through your mobile device and record local channels with the device’s built-in 1TB DVR.
Sports fans can also take advantage of four months of basketball coverage for only $120 when you prepay for four months of Sling Orange. The deal can save you $40 by deducting $10 a month for the first four months. It’s valid for new subscribers who sign up for the Sling Orange package at checkout and will give you access to more than 30 channels including ESPN, ESPN2 and TNT. Games that air on ABC will be simulcasted on ESPN3, which is also included in the Sling Orange package.
Does Sling Have a Free Trial?
The live TV streamer’s deals and promos change throughout the year — and that includes when they have a free trial. While you won’t be able to get a free trial with the best Sling TV deals going on right now, you can score a major discounted price on the platform compared to competitors that offer packages around $80 a month.
Can You Get Local Channels on Sling?

More than six decades into her storied career, Barbra Streisand is still finding ways to challenge herself. The legend has recorded a new song, “Love Will Survive,” for the upcoming Sky/Peacock original series The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

The track recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra (conducted by William Ross) was composed by two-time Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer in collaboration with Emmy-nominee Kara Talve (Prehistoric Planet) and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter Walter Afanasieff (Mariah Carey); the song’s lyrics were penned by Grammy and Golden Globe nominee Charlie Midnight; Afanasieff and Peter Asher produced the track.
“Because of the rise in antisemitism around the world today, I wanted to sing ‘Love Will Survive’ in the context of this series, as a way of remembering the six-million souls who were lost less than 80 years ago,” Streisand said in a statement. “And also to say that even in the darkest of times, the power of love can triumph and endure.”
Trending on Billboard
The song, Streisand’s first-ever recording for a TV series, will be released by Columbia Records on April 25, a week before the series launches globally on streaming on May 2. Zimmer also composed the original score for the six-part limited series starring Harvey Keitel, Melanie Lynskey, Jonah Hauer-King, Anna Próchniak and Jonas Nay.
The series tells the story of a Slovakian Jewish man, Lali (Hauer-King), who in 1942 was deported to the Nazi death camp where more than one million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust. According to a summary, the drama series follows Lali as he is made one of the camp’s Tätowierer (tattooist), whose job it is to ink identification numbers on the arms of fellow prisoners. It then follows Lali as he falls for fellow prisoner, Gita (Próchniak), “leading to a love that defied the horrors around them.”
The story shifts 60 years into the future to find the now 80-something recently widowed Lali meeting an aspiring writer, Heather Morris (Lynskey) to whom he tells his improbable story of finding love in the “darkest of places.”
“Barbra Streisand is one of the most renowned artists in the world, and we are deeply honoured to be working with her,” Synchronicity Films executive producer Claire Mundell said in a statement. “Barbra and her team have crafted the most beautiful song, based on Hans’ and Kara’s main theme for the show, and it sums up the key message of the series – love will survive. Recording the song with Barbra’s iconic vocals and William Ross conducting the LSO at Abbey Road Studios was an unforgettable moment and a memory I will treasure forever. We are thrilled to be able to honour the memory of Lali and Gita in this way, with this beautiful original piece of music.”
The series will be available beginning May 2nd on Sky Atlantic and the NOW streaming service in the UK and Ireland, Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as Peacock in the U.S. and Stan in Australia.

Three years after he blew Fab Four fans’ minds with his The Beatles: Get Back series, director Peter Jackson is dipping back into his Beatle bag on May 8 with the re-release of Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s legendary 1970 documentary Let It Be.
The film chronicling the final days of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr will be available for the first time in more than 50 years when it airs exclusively on Disney+ on May 8.
According to a release, the film recorded during the midst of the group’s breakup “now takes its rightful place in the band’s history. Once viewed through a darker lens, the film is now brought to light through its restoration and in the context of revelations brought forth” in Jackson’s Emmy-winning 2021 docuseries.
Trending on Billboard
“Let It Be was ready to go in October/November 1969, but it didn’t come out until April 1970. One month before its release, The Beatles officially broke up. And so the people went to see Let It Be with sadness in their hearts, thinking, ‘I’ll never see The Beatles together again. I will never have that joy again,’” director Lindsay-Hogg said in a statement. “And it very much darkened the perception of the film. But, in fact, how often do you get to see artists of this stature working together to make what they hear in their heads into songs. And then you get to the roof and you see their excitement, camaraderie and sheer joy in playing together again as a group and know, as we do now, that it was the final time, and we view it with full understanding of who they were and still are and a little poignancy. I was knocked out by what Peter was able to do with Get Back, using all the footage I’d shot 50 years previously.”
In fact, the restored Let It Be features footage that appeared Get Back, taking viewers into the studio and onto the Apple Corps London rooftop in Jan. 1969 for what would be the quartet’s final live performance. It also features the band in the studio writing and recording their Let It Be album. In the wake of the rapturous appreciation for Jackson’s series, and with Lindsay-Hogg’s support, Apple Corps asked Jackson’s Park Road Post Production team to restore Let It Be from the original 16mm negative, a process that also included the remastering of the film’s sound using the same MAL de-mix technology that was employed on Get Back.
“I’m absolutely thrilled that Michael’s movie, Let It Be, has been restored and is finally being re-released after being unavailable for decades,” said Jackson in a statement. “I was so lucky to have access to Michael’s outtakes for Get Back, and I’ve always thought that Let It Be is needed to complete the Get Back story. Over three parts, we showed Michael and The Beatles filming a groundbreaking new documentary, and Let It Be is that documentary – the movie they released in 1970. I now think of it all as one epic story, finally completed after five decades. The two projects support and enhance each other: Let It Be is the climax of Get Back, while Get Back provides a vital missing context for Let It Be. Michael Lindsay-Hogg was unfailingly helpful and gracious while I made Get Back, and it’s only right that his original movie has the last word…looking and sounding far better than it did in 1970.”
On Monday, prior to the announcement — and six months after the Fabs dropped what was billed as their final song, the melancholy “Now and Then” — the Beatles site teased “There will be an answer,” a lyric from 1970’s “Let It Be.” The post was accompanied by four blank frames positioned to resemble the Let It Be album artwork, as well as what seemed like a cryptic clue, “At last…” and the Disney+ and Apple Corps logos.
Though Let It Be premiered in movie theaters in 1970 and was released on home video formats in the early 1980s, it has never been officially issued on DVD, blu-ray or streaming.

Plans for Apple Music follow its own tiered plan that’s separate from Best Buy’s promo. The standard plan will cost $10.99 a month, but if you’re looking for additional savings you can subscribe to Apple Voice (a Siri only listening plan), the student plan or the family plan.

As introspective, guitar-based songs from artists including Noah Kahan, Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves continue proliferating streaming consumption and music charts, Amazon Music aims to capture this cultural surge with its newly launched playlist Bonfire, which started globally on Friday (April 12).
The playlist will launch with more than 50 songs, focusing more on mood than genre and capturing a cross-section of artists such as Mumford & Sons, Bryan, Dylan Gossett, Boygenius, Kahan, Musgraves, Lizzy McAlpine and more.
“This is a huge movement,” Emily Cohen, country programming lead for Amazon Music, tells Billboard. “We’ve seen storytellers bubble up and connect with our listeners, artists like Zach Bryan and Hozier. For us, we see what customers are into and double down on what they love. We felt it needed to be in one place where people could listen to these artists together. It’s creating a true collection of ‘Bonfire’ songs. Artists don’t want to be put in a box or be defined, so it’s an amalgamation of country, alternative and indie-folk that is bubbling up.”
Trending on Billboard
Among the songs initially part of the playlist are Bryan’s “Something in the Orange,” Kahan’s “Stick Season,” Musgraves’ “Deeper Well,” Hozier’s “Too Sweet,” The Red Clay Strays’ “Wondering Why,” Lord Huron’s “The Night We Met,” Black Pumas’ “More Than a Love Song,” and the Joy Oladokun/Chris Stapleton collaboration “Sweet Symphony.”
“Listening to this, it is elemental and outdoorsy in its vibe,” Cohen says. “They are all sonically connected. I think a unique thread through all of these artists is they are authentic. You know who they are through their songwriting and fans react to that.”
The playlist is highlighted by Big Loud Records artist Charles Wesley Godwin’s new Amazon Music Original cover of Gordon Lightfoot’s “Sundown,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1974. Godwin released his latest album, Family Ties, last year.

“I believe Gordon to have been one of the greatest songwriters of our time and felt this opportunity with Amazon Music was perfect to shine a light on one of his most popular songs a little over 50 years after its original release date,” Godwin said via a statement. “Hopefully, through this version that me and the guys recorded, a new generation of music listeners can be introduced to Gordon’s music and become fans of his themselves.”
Godwin is set to debut his rendition of the song when he performs at the annual Stagecoach Festival on Sunday, April 28. Music fans can watch the performance as the festival will be livestreamed on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and Prime Video. The Morgantown, West Virginia, native will open shows for Luke Combs’ stadium tour in 2024. In addition to Stagecoach, Godwin will perform at festivals including Bourbon and Beyond, as well as Bonnaroo.
“He’s an incredible songwriter,” Cohen says. “He’s such a powerhouse. He’s becoming his own version of Bruce Springsteen onstage, rock and country—he’s an embodiment of what we’re trying to achieve with this playlist.”
“It’s such an honor to be included in a playlist like this with so many amazing artists,” Godwin added in a statement. “Keeping company like this is all I ever could have wished for when I set out on this path of music. ‘bonfire’ is so fitting for those special moments in life when we’re enjoying the company of our friends and family.”

Argylle was trending when it opened in theaters thanks to its star-studded cast (and cat). But even before the film hit theaters, Swifties were speculating that Taylor Swift secretly wrote the novel under a pseudonym (though director Matthew Vaughn quickly shut down the rumors).

Viewers will follow Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard), a bestselling author of espionage novels about the irresistible secret agent Argylle (Henry Cavill) — and a proud cat-lover. When she discovers her novels are mirroring the exact actions of a real-life spy organization, she goes on her own adventure with the help of a feline-hating spy Aidan. The two must try to stay one-step ahead of the syndicate’s assassins while also working together to prevent a global crisis from occurring.
Howard said she used Swift as her inspiration for her character Elly as she tried to channel her “unapologetic dorkiness,” the actress described in an interview with People.
Lipa, meantime, stars as the hypnotic LaGrange, who can be seen within the trailer dancing with agent Argylle. Other cast members also include Catherine O’Hara, Sam Rockwell, John Cena, Ariana DeBose, Samuel L. Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Bryan Cranston and Jing Lusi.
