Erika Jayne Hints at What Fans Can Expect From Her Bet It All on Blonde Las Vegas Residency

Erika Jayne is getting ready to start up her very own Las Vegas residency, Bet It All on Blonde. The star will kick off her five-week stay at the House of Blues starting Friday (Aug. 25), but before gracing the stage, she sat down with Billboard News to tell fans what they can expect of her show.

“The show is based around my six-word mantra — which is how I created Erika Jayne — which is fantasy, love, escape, and then I added glitz, glamour and fun some years later,” Jayne tells Billboard News host Catrise J. “So that’s really what the Vegas show is about, so we’ll have my old stuff, new stuff, and we’ll do a clever cover or two just for nostalgia purposes, and it’s going to be great. I’m super excited to get back out and perform. I have not performed for three years.”

Other surprises during the residency will include a nod to Jayne’s appearance as Roxie Hart in Chicago (the production shuttered after two months due to COVID-19 in 2020). “We will give a nod to [Bob] Fosse in our own way,” she says. “Probably we’ll see it via costume and choreography.”

Jayne says she couldn’t believe the production got the green light in the first place after a few personal hiccups. “Well, honestly, to be really truthful, I was like: Really? I almost felt like this can’t possibly be happening,” she recalls. “I’ve gone through such a rough patch and all I was getting was bad news, so that when actually good news came through the door, I seriously for a hot second was like, is this real?”

Blame It All on Blonde will take place Aug. 25 for a run of 11 dates over five weekends through Dec. 2 at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay. Watch Jayne’s Billboard News interview in full in the video above.

Erika Jayne:
I don’t know if these b—hes have bought tickets yet or not, you know? And I’m not giving them for free!

Hey, guys! I’m Erika Jayne, and this is Billboard News.

Catrise J:
Hey, everyone! It’s Catrise J here with Billboard News. I’m sitting with Erika Jayne, Miss Pretty Mess. Welcome!

Erika Jayne:
Thank you. Hi!

Catrise J:
We’re here to talk about Bet It All on Blonde.

Erika Jayne:
Yes.

Catrise J:
Coming to Vegas, Aug. 25. So what was your reaction when you found out that you are getting this residency in Vegas?

Erika Jayne:
OK, well, honestly, to be really truthful, I was kind of like, “Really?” I mean, it almost felt like this can’t possibly be happening. I have gone through such a rough patch and all I was getting was bad news. So that when actually good news came through the door, I seriously for a hot second was like, “Is this real?”

Catrise J:
So what can you tell us about the show?

Erika Jayne:
So the show is based around my six-word mantra, which is how I created Erika Jayne, which was “fantasy, love, escape,” and then I added “glitz, glamour and fun” some years later. So that’s really what the Vegas show is about. We’ll have my old stuff, new stuff and we’ll do a clever cover or two just for nostalgia purposes, and it’s gonna be great. I’m super excited to get back out and perform. I had not performed for three years.

Flo Rida Dances Onstage With Crowd-Surfing Baby in Viral Video

Babies get wild at concerts too!

Flo Rida was performing CelebrateErie festival in Pennsylvania over the weekend, where he’s seen in a viral video posted by TMZ motioning a parent to send their baby over to the stage. Within seconds, the infant is crowd-surfing to the front, with fans gently moving the baby up over the crowd over to the rapper. Flo Rida then holds the baby as he performs “Low,” dancing around and even putting the mic up to the baby’s mouth in case he wanted to get a few bars in.

The child somehow eventually made his way onto the main stage, where Flo Rida’s crew held him up Lion King style while the rapper performed “GDFR.”

It’s been a lucrative year for Flo Rida, who was awards $82 million back in January following a legal battle with energy drink maker Celcius, claiming the company violated an endorsement deal with the rapper. Flo Rida’s lawsuit, filed in 2021, claimed he was owed millions in additional stock and ongoing royalties under the terms of the deals. Broward County jury found that Celsius breached two contracts it had signed with the rapper.

“They understood all these complicated legal issues and, in our view, came to the right conclusion,” the rapper’s attorney John J. Uustal told Billboard at the time. “After our client finished testifying, there was no doubt that this was not a greedy individual.”

Here Are the Major Artists Still Managed by Scooter Braun

Scooter Braun’s name has been making headlines over the past week, as a number of his superstar clients have parted ways with his management company, SB Projects.

Sources close to the situation told Billboard on Tuesday (Aug. 22) that Idina Menzel parted with the manager amicably earlier this year. Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande also left their deals with SB Projects this year. It is unclear whether Grande is severing all business ties with Braun outside of management. Lovato, meanwhile, does not yet have new management, though conversations are reportedly taking place. J Balvin, who signed with Braun back in 2019, exited his deal in May and is now managed by Roc Nation.

The manager poked fun at the situation Tuesday by sending out a tweet that read, “Breaking news… I’m no longer managing myself.”

In 2021, Braun sold SB Projects’ parent company Ithaca Holdings to South Korean entertainment company HYBE, which continues to operate SB Projects. Braun has now taken on the role of HYBE America CEO.

So with some of his major clients off the roster, who is still managed by Scooter Braun? We’ve compiled a list of the manager’s clients below, including when they signed with him.

Patty Loveless on Her ‘No Trouble With the Truth’ Country Music Hall of Fame Exhibit: 5 Essential Items

On Tuesday evening (Aug. 22), Patty Loveless celebrated her new Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibit Patty Loveless: No Trouble With the Truth. The exhibit runs from Wednesday through October 2024 and coincides with the recent announcement that Loveless is among the latest additions to the Country Music Hall of Fame, alongside Tanya Tucker and songwriter Bob McDill.

Speaking to Billboard from her home in Georgia prior to the event, Loveless said of her Hall of Fame invitation, “I have to be honest, I didn’t see that coming. I was on a phone call and I thought they were trying to set up a date to pick up items here at my home, and during that call they told me I was going to be inducted. I didn’t even know how to react. I got a choke in my voice.”

That voice, all Kentucky holler grit and the kind of Southern drawl that easily wraps around the full spectrum of emotions, has made her one of country music’s most skilled vocalists, yet one that is always in service to the song.

She earned her first No. 1 Hot Country Songs chart hit in 1989 with “Timber I’m Falling in Love,” and followed with four more No. 1s on that chart (and 44 total entries overall), including “Blame It on Your Heart” and “You Can Feel Bad.” Along the way, she’s earned two Grammys and five CMA Awards, including female vocalist of the year in 1996. In 2001, she returned to her musical roots with the release of Mountain Soul, which proved to be a critically favored project; its successor, 2009’s Mountain Soul II, won a Grammy for best bluegrass album and spent six weeks atop the Bluegrass Albums chart.

The Pikeville, Kentucky, native, born Patricia Lee Ramey, began performing and writing songs by age 11, and soon began performing with her brother Roger as The Singing Swinging Rameys. Another familial duo, the Wilburn Brothers, soon lent their support, and by age 15, Loveless was performing with them on the weekends and joined them on tour after she graduated high school. Her brother Roger convinced her to record in Nashville, funding a session for his sister in 1985; that session would lead to Loveless signing with MCA Nashville that same year. Roger also served as Loveless’ manager for several years early in her career. She issued her self-titled debut project in 1987.

For Loveless, receiving the news of her upcoming induction ceremony as a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame was also bittersweet, given her musical origins.

“My first thought was of my brother Roger, because we lost him in June 2022, so it was just overwhelming to me,” Loveless said. “And I was going through a lot of emotions because [Loveless’ husband, legendary producer Emory Gordy Jr.] had lost his youngest daughter in June 2022. So I had been on this emotional ride and it meant a lot to have that kind of wonderful news.”

Loveless added that she is not working on new music at the moment, though she could at some point to reprise work she previously began in 2017, working with Miranda Lambert.

“Miranda and I began working together, writing songs for my album and working with [singer-songwriter-session player] Jedd Hughes. But I had so much going on and then COVID happened. After the CMAs this last year, she was here in Atlanta [at ATLive] with Chris and Morgane Stapleton and Dwight Yoakam but I couldn’t make it out to the show. But she texted me and said, ‘Hey, I’m gonna have some time if you still wanna do that record.’ That means a lot to me, that they still believe and their hearts and doors are open for that. And who knows, when I feel that things have slowed down a bit for me, maybe I’ll pick back up with them where I left off.”

As for the career-spanning exhibit, Loveless hopes fans take away from the exhibit the sense of teamwork that has built her Hall of Fame-worthy career.

“It takes so many people to support and encourage you,” Loveless said. ‘So many people have supported me — my brother Roger, the Wilburn Brothers, Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, they all gave me support.”

Below, Loveless tells Billboard about five items that highlight her new exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

“Happy 15th birthday Zuma !!! We love u more than anything,” Stefani captioned the video — set to Zach Bryan’s 2022 track “Something in the Orange” — which featured sweet snaps of Zuma in his earlier stages of life, from missing teeth as a platinum-haired young boy to outgrowing the hair color and growing taller than his rock-star mother in his teen years. In one of the photos in the video, Zuma sweetly shows off a drawing that he made of an animal while posing for the camera alongside Stefani’s husband, Blake Shelton.

Stefani shares Zuma — and her two other children, Kingston and Apollo — with ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. The No Doubt singer was married to the Bush frontman for 13 years — and dated for nearly six years before tying the knot — before ultimately separating in 2015.

Stefani’s Instagram post serves as yet another look into the life of her three children. Earlier this month, 17-year-old Kingston made the rounds on TikTok after giving a live performance at his stepdad’s Oklahoma bar, Ole Red, to sing a song for those in attendance. Following his song, Shelton appeared on stage and gave Kingston a hug.

Hot 100 First-Timers: Warren Zeiders Scores First Entry With ‘Pretty Little Poison’

Singer-songwriter Warren Zeiders notches his first Billboard Hot 100 chart hit, as “Pretty Little Poison” debuts at No. 86.

The song, released in March through 717/Warner/WEA, arrives with 5.8 million U.S. streams (up 17%), 3.3 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 10%) and 1,000 downloads sold (up 1%) in the Aug. 11-17 tracking week, according to Luminate. It also rises 38-37 on Country Airplay, having become Zeider’s first entry on the survey.

The song’s recent gains can partly be attributed to hype leading up to the release of Zeiders’ debut studio album, Pretty Little Poison, which includes “Poison,” on Aug. 18.

TikTok has been a factor in the song’s growing profile, as a portion of the track has been used in over 65,000 clips to date. (TikTok does not presently contribute directly to Billboard‘s charts.)

“Poison” concurrently pushes 24-22 on Hot Country Songs, marking Zeider’s highest-charting entry. He previously charted five songs on the list: “Ride the Lightning (717 Tapes)” (No. 30 peak in 2021); “Outskirts of Heaven,” featuring Craig Campbell (No. 49, 2021); “Dark Night (717 Tapes)” (No. 40, 2022); “Wild Horse (717 Tapes)” (No. 35, 2022); and “Up to No Good” (No. 50, 2022).

Zeiders (real name: Brady Zeiders), from Hershey, Pennsylvania, scored his first Billboard chart appearance with “Ride the Lightning (717 Tapes)” in July 2021. The song went viral on TikTok, ahead of its Hot Country Songs debut, and led to a record deal with Warner.

“Warren is a gifted songwriter and storyteller, has the confidence and drive to work harder than anyone, understands all the modern tools at an artist’s fingertips to market and promote themselves, and is just a great human being,” Aaron Bay-Schuck, co-chairman and CEO of Warner Records, said upon Zeiders’ signing. “We just had the best time getting to know one another and both [co-chairman/COO] Tom [Corson] and I felt that Warner Records was a natural fit for Warren.”

Ariana & Demi Split From Scooter Braun, Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Baby No. 2 & More | Billboard News

Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have split from manager Scooter Braun. Rihanna & A$AP Rocky have reportedly welcomed their second child together. Justin Timberlake is showing off his acting chops in the trailer for Netflix’s ‘Reptile,’ as *NSYNC is rumored to reunite in ‘Trolls Band Back Together.’ And more!

Tetris Kelly:
Scooter Braun loses some of his top clients, Rihanna welcomes baby number two, Justin Timberlake flexes his acting skills, Erika Jayne talks her new Vegas residency, and we learned five things about Killer Mike.

It’s Tuesday, August 22nd, and welcome to Billboard News. Today is full of updates so let’s jump right into our first story.

We learned Scooter Braun has lost both Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande as clients on the same day. Demi Lovato has been managed by Scooter Braun since 2019 and Ariana, who’s been with Braun since 2013, have decided to cut ties with Scooter. It’s unclear what led to the pop stars’ departures, but reps for Demi, Ariana and Scooter all declined to comment. They aren’t the first to drop Scooter as a manager. J Balvin, who was also signed with Braun in 2019, left SB Projects back in May. This all comes just days after rumors circulated online that Justin Bieber, Scooter’s most famous client, was also seeking new management. Last Friday, reps for both Justin and Scooter said the rumors were not true. With Demi and Ariana’s departure, Scooter is still left with a stacked list of clients including acts like Tori Kelly and Dan + Shay.

And if you thought that was interesting, you won’t believe what we have next! Congratulations are in order for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, as the couple just welcomed their second child together.

NewJeans Take It Back to Debut Days, Dancing to ‘Hype Boy’ With BTS’ V: Watch

Another day, another dance video from the girls of NewJeans! On Monday (Aug. 21), the K-pop group — Danielle, Haerin, Hanni, Hyein and Minji — hit the dance studio to film a TikTok of them dancing to their viral song “Hype Boy,” this time with a special guest in tow.

Instead of the girls leading the video, BTSV first appears onscreen in a blue-and-pink plaid shirt, matching pink wide-leg pants and white sneakers throwing a peace sign before the track’s infectious chorus hits. The quintet then pops up around V to join him in the choreography, with the BTS members adding his own swag to the dance moves as he leads in the center.

“‘Cause I know what you like, boy/ You’re my chemical hype boy/ Open my eyes to see old days gone like a dream/ Hype boy, all I wanna/ Hype boy, gonna tell ya,” Haerin and Hanni’s voices boom from studio speakers, as they all strike a pose by the end of the post-chorus of the track.

Fans in the comments section were delighted to see the BTS member alongside the NewJeans, with one writing, “I can’t V-lieve this is happening,” and another adding, “tae dance’s so smooth and chill yet so captivating that you can’t get your eyes off him while dancing.”

V joining BTS comes less than a week after Jimin — who rarely posts to social media — joined Hanni and Danielle to perform the energetic choreo of NewJeans’ “ETA,” also on TikTok. NewJeans’ connection to the boys of BTS is through HYBE; the quintet’s independent label ADOR rests under the HYBE umbrella.
