2024 Copa América Final: Karol G Will Sing Colombia’s National Anthem

Karol G is set to sing Colombia’s national anthem at the 2024 Copa América final tonight (Sunday, June 14), and Abel Pintos will sing for Argentina. Their performances will be ahead of Shakira‘s anticipated halftime show at the Argentina-Colombia match in Miami, Florida.

Though Karol G’s appearance was apparently meant to be a surprise, the Colombian star confirmed the news herself in a quick chat with Noticias RCN on Sunday afternoon at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, where she was seated next to Feid.

A few hours before the event’s start time, videos of Karol rehearsing at the stadium on Sunday had begin to circulate across social media — so the cat was out of the bag.

Shakira’s halftime show will mark her first time performing at the oldest national soccer tournament. She’s expected to appear just after the first half of the game.

The 2024 Copa América final is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.

In the United States, Copa América 2024 will broadcast in Spanish on Univision, TUND, and UniMás, and the match will be available on FuboTV, DirecTV Stream and TUND’s streaming platforms. ENHYPEN‘s Romance: Untold has topped this week’s new music poll that features artists in various genres of music.

Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (July 12) on Billboard, choosing the K-pop seven-piece’s new album as their favorite new music release of the past week.

Romance: Untold brought nearly 76% of the vote on the poll, securing a notable edge ahead of new releases from Katy Perry (“Woman’s World”), Eminem (The Death of Slim Shady), Ice Spice and Central Cee (“Did It First”), Clairo (Charm), and others.

ENHYPEN unveiled their long-awaited sophomore album, Romance: Untold, on Friday (July 12). The set is a follow-up to the boy band’s 2021 debut, DIMENSION : DILEMMA, which debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 chart.

“Since our debut, we have been expressing our experiences as artists and honest emotions through our music. ENHYPEN’s authentic story of growth is the biggest inspiration for our music,” member Jungwon previously told Billboard.

Romance: Untold “marks the beginning of a new chapter for ENHYPEN. The pioneering storytellers have previously captivated audiences with their series of narratives BORDER, DIMENSION, MANIFESTO, and BLOOD where they ventured across boundaries, confronted themselves in a complex world, took the first step forward to connect with their peers, and made sacrifices for the blood-bound ‘you,’” per a press release that announced details of the project last month.

It’s been an exciting year for ENHYPEN. In May, the group — featuring members Sunghoon, Heeseung, Sunoo, Jay, Jake, Jungwon and Ni-ki — announced that a feature documentary film focused on its dedicated fan group, ENGENE, is in the works from Hello Sunshine, the multimedia company founded by actress Reese Witherspoon. FANMADE : ENHYPEN will reportedly focus on the relationship between the group and the fan community by celebrating “ENHYPEN’s fans (ENGENEs) and putting them at the heart of the concert creation process.”

Trailing behind Romance: Untold on this week’s poll is Perry’s “Woman’s World,” with 13% of the vote. The song serves as the lead track to the pop star’s upcoming dance-pop album, 143, which arrives on Sept. 20.

Here’s Katy Perry’s Response to Criticism Over Her ‘Woman’s World’ Video

Katy Perry appears to be responding to criticism over her new “Woman’s World” music video.

On Saturday (July 13), the 39-year-old pop superstar shared a behind-the-scenes clip from the video shoot, explaining her intentions for the seemingly female-empowering visual.

“YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! EVEN SATIRE!” Perry captioned the Instagram post.

Following its release on Thursday, some reviews suggested the “Woman’s World” video was a dated attempt at writing a feminist anthem. The visual finds Perry dressed as a pin-up girl and working on a construction site before being hit by an anvil.

Perhaps adding fuel to the fire, the track was co-produced by Dr. Luke, who was accused of sexual misconduct by Kesha. (In 2023, the singer and hitmaker settled their bitter, nine-year legal battle before it was scheduled to go to trial.)

In her response clip, which seemed to anticipate the forthcoming backlash, the singer is surrounded by dancers on set at the video shoot as she explains the thinking behind it.

“We’re kind of just having fun being a bit sarcastic with it, it’s very slapstick, and very on the nose,” Perry says of the first half of the video, which features half-naked dancers, Perry chugging Whiskey, and her entourage pretending to relieve themselves in urinals.

“With this set, it’s like, ‘We’re not about the male gaze but we really are about the male gaze,’ and we’re really overplaying it and on the nose because I’m about to get smashed, which is like a reset, a reset for me, and a reset for my idea of feminine divine, and it’s a whole different world we go to after this.”

Perry concluded her response, stating, “We wanted to open this video making it look like a super high gloss pop star video, and that’s what it is.”

“Woman’s World” marks Perry’s first proper release since 2020’s Smile, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200. The song serves as the lead track to her upcoming, long-awaited dance-pop album, 143, which is code for “I love you.” The project arrives on Sept. 20.

Taylor Swift Hits Career-Best 12th Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 With ‘Tortured Poets Department’

Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department captures a 12th consecutive and total week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 (dated July 20) — beating 1989 and Fearless (each with 11 weeks at No. 1) as her longest-leading No. 1 album.

The Tortured Poets Department earned 163,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending July 11 (up 43% — its first gain in seven weeks), according to Luminate. The album debuted atop the chart dated May 4 and has yet to yield the No. 1 slot.

The Tortured Poets Department surpasses Whitney Houston’s 1987 album Whitney to become the only album by a woman to spend its first 12 weeks at No. 1. The latter spent all 11 of its weeks atop the list from its debut frame (June 27, 1987-dated chart).

Only two other albums have spent at least their first 12 weeks at No. 1: Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (first 12 weeks at No. 1, of its total 19 weeks at No. 1 in 2023-24) and Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life (first 13 weeks at No. 1, of its total 14 weeks at No. 1 in 1976). (For context, today it’s common for albums to debut at No. 1. However, before 1991, when the Billboard 200 began utilizing Luminate’s electronically monitored tracking information, only six albums debuted at No. 1, including Whitney and Songs in the Key of Life.)

Also in the top 10 of the latest Billboard 200 chart, Zach Bryan’s The Great American Bar Scene soars 17-2 in its first full tracking week. The previous week’s list captured the tracking week of June 28-July 4, and Bryan’s album was released on Thursday, July 4. (Albums are typically released on Friday each week, which is the first day of the chart’s tracking week.)

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new July 20, 2024-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on July 16. Prior to Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, the last album by a woman to spend at least 12 total weeks at No. 1 was Adele’s 21, which earned 24 nonconsecutive weeks on top in 2011-12. (Overall, the last album to spend at least 12 total weeks at No. 1 was Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time, which logged 19 total weeks at No. 1 in 2023-24, of which its first 12 were consecutive from its debut week.)

The last album by a woman with at least 12 consecutive weeks at No. 1 was the Whitney Houston-led soundtrack to The Bodyguard, which strung together 13 straight weeks at No. 1 (of its total 20 nonconsecutive weeks atop the list) from December 1992 to March 1993.

Swift adds her 81st career week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, extending her record among soloists. (Elvis Presley has the second-most among soloists, with 67.) The total encompasses her 14 No. 1 albums. (She’s tied with Jay-Z for the most No. 1s among soloists.)

Of The Tortured Poets Department’s 163,000 units earned in the week ending July 11, album sales comprise 90,000 (up 154%, making it the top-selling album of the week, and No. 1 on Top Album Sales for a sixth non-consecutive week), SEA units comprise 72,000 (down 7%, equaling 94.83 million on-demand official streams of the deluxe album’s 31 songs; it falls 1-2 on the Top Streaming Albums chart after 11 weeks in a row at No. 1) and TEA units comprise 1,000 (up 7%).

Of Swift’s overall album sales for the week, CD sales comprise 67,000 (up 127%), digital album download sales comprise 19,000 (up 1,266%) and vinyl sales comprise 4,000 (down 10%).

The Tortured Poets Department’s overall weekly increase was bolstered in part by sales generated from Swift’s official webstore, which restocked seven earlier-released CD variants of the album (including a signed edition). The restocked items were available to purchase for a few hours on Sunday, June 7, and shipped shortly afterwards. In addition, Swift released three new digital album download variants of the album on Thursday, July 11, sold exclusively in her webstore for $4.99 each, and were only available to purchase that day. Each contained the original standard 16-song album tracklist, along with one bonus live acoustic track, recorded during her The Eras Tour stop in Stockholm (“Guilty as Sin?,” “How Did It End?” or “Peter”).

The Tortured Poets Department also got a boost in the latest chart’s tracking week thanks to activity generated by the July 8 release of two versions of the album’s lead single, the Post Malone-featuring “Fortnight,” to streaming services and digital retailers: a Cults remix and an acoustic rendition. (The latter was previously available only as a bonus track on a limited-edition CD version of Poets.)

Zach Bryan’s The Great American Bar Scene rises 17-2 in its second week on the Billboard 200, following its first full tracking week of activity. The set earned 137,000 equivalent album units in the week ending July 11 (up 363% from its first day). The previous week’s list captured the tracking week of June 28-July 4, and Bryan’s album was released on Thursday, July 4. The set premiered on the previous week’s list with 32,000 units from first day of release. (Albums are typically released on Friday each week, which is the first day of the chart’s tracking week.)

Of The Great American Bar Scene’s second chart-week units, SEA units comprise 127,500 (up 390%, equaling 163.87 million on-demand official streams of the set’s 19 tracks; it jumps 18-1 on Top Streaming Albums), album sales comprise 8,500 (up 66%, it was only available to purchase as a digital download album) and TEA units comprise 1,000 (up 113%). The album will be released on CD and vinyl on Oct. 11.

The album was preceded by a pair of Billboard Hot 100-charting songs: “Pink Skies” (peaking at No. 6 in June) and “Purple Gas,” with Noeline Hofmann (No. 70).

The Great American Bar Scene marks the fourth top 10-charting effort for Bryan on the Billboard 200, following Boys of Faith (No. 8, October 2023) his-self titled set (No. 1, two weeks, September 2023) and American Heartbreak (No. 5, June 2022).

Morgan Wallen’s former leader One Thing at a Time falls 2-3 with 69,000 equivalent album units earned (down 6%); Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft is a non-mover at No. 4 with 58,000 (down 8%); and Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is stationary at No. 5 with 54,000 (down 10%).

Wallen’s chart-topping Dangerous: The Double Album holds at No. 6 (40,000; down 8%); Noah Kahan’s Stick Season rises 9-7 (38,000; down 3%); Shaboozey’s Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going is a non-mover at No. 8 (36,000; down 10%); and Megan Thee Stallion’s Megan falls 3-9 in its second week (32,000; down 50%).

Closing out the top 10 is a second Zach Bryan title, as his self-titled No. 1 rises 12-10 with nearly 32,000 equivalent album units (down 12%). It’s the second time Bryan has placed two titles in the top 10. He first did it on the Oct. 7, 2023-dated chart, when his self-titled set fell 3-5 in its fifth week, while his Boys of Faith project bowed at No. 8.

Coldplay Debuts New Song ‘Good Feelings’ at Concert in Italy

Coldplay premiered a new song for some lucky fans in Italy.

The British band, led by charismatic frontman Chris Martin, debuted the unreleased track “Good Feelings” during its concert at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico on Friday (July 12).

“We fell in love in the summer/I remember baby, we felt the sun shine through/And we were born for each other,” Martin sings on the upbeat tune. “All the good feelings, for one another/As we danced to the radio.”

Coldplay fans have been familiar with “Good Feelings” for a couple years now. A Max Martin-produced version of the song was rumored to have been intended for the band’s 2021 album, Music of the Spheres, as a collaboration with the Chainsmokers, according to Rolling Stone.

The new rendition of “Good Feelings” will likely appear on Coldplay’s forthcoming tenth album, Moon Music, featuring vocals by Nigerian singer Ayra Starr.

In June, Coldplay shared the new Martin-produced single “Feelslikeimfallinginlove,” which will appear on Moon Music. On it, Martin sings: “It feels like I’m falling in love/ You’re throwing me a lifeline/ Oh, not for the first time/ I know I’m not alone.”

Moon Music is scheduled for release on Oct. 4. Martin has been teasing the new set for more than a year. In January 2023, he told the Toronto City News that the band was nearing completion of what he then promised was the second LP in the Music of the Spheres series. He remarked “that won’t come out for a bit,” though he teased that the band “might” start rolling out some of the new songs live that year.

Coldplay’s current global tour is in support of Spheres, launching on March 18, 2022, in Costa Rica. The years-long trek is currently slated to wrap up with the second of two shows at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand, on Nov. 16.

Kid Rock Is Enraged Over Former President Trump Assassination Attempt: See His Reaction

Kid Rock is enraged over the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

On Saturday (July 13), the 53-year-old rocker — a staunch supporter of the former president — took to social media to share his anger over the shooting at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pa., where the presumptive GOP presidential nominee was struck in the ear and an audience member was killed.

“You f— with Trump, you f— with me,” Rock furiously yelled in a video posted on Instagram.

The short clip, which appears to have been recorded on a boat, finds the “We the People” singer-rapper shirtless and sporting black sunglasses with a “White Boy of the Year” baseball cap.

At Saturday’s Pennsylvania rally, held on the grounds of the Butler Farm Show, the shooter was immediately killed by the Secret Service after firing numerous shots from a nearby rooftop. The FBI has identified him as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. A motive has not yet been determined.

Following the incident, Trump wrote on Truth Social that a bullet struck the upper part of his ear. Videos and photos from the event show the Secret Service quickly escorting the bloodied former president from the stage while Trump pumped his fist to the crowd. One rally attendee was killed and two additional audience members are in critical condition.

In addition to his passionate video, Rock also shared a link on his X (formerly Twitter) account to a “President Trump Authorized” GoFundMe page dedicated to the victims of the Pennsylvania rally. The effort had raised nearly $900,000 as of Sunday morning.

Rock, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, has been a major supporter of Trump over the years. The rapper-turned-southern-rocker visited the former president at the White House in 2017 and he has golfed with Trump on numerous occasions. In 2022, Rock spoke to Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson about his past interactions with Trump. He also called Trump “one of my besties” in a 2024 profile in Rolling Stone.

Kid Rock wasn’t the only musical artist who reacted to the Trump assassination attempt. Other acts — including 50 Cent, John Rich, Scotty McCreery, Soulja Boy, Randy Houser, Kid Cudi and Lil Pump — also shared their thoughts about the shooting.

“Trump was shot!!!” Rich, of Big & Rich, alerted his X followers, later adding, “They couldn’t beat him in a fair contest, so they tried to kill him. BUT THEY MISSED.”

“Praying for our country rn,” said country singer and American Idol alum McCreery.

“I know the vibes,” noted 50 cent, posting a clip of his track “Many Men (Wish Death)” from Get Rich or Die Tryin’. “We are all in trouble now!”

7 Best Moments From the 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards: Snubs! Surprises! Slime!

This show introduces kids to the fun of watching award shows. To tweak the title of an old AC/DC album, “For Those About to Watch Awards Shows, We Salute You.”

The most surreal thing about the 2024 Kids’ Choice Award is that it went on as scheduled on Saturday (July 13) at 8 p.m. ET, even though the rest of the world was reacting to the shocking assassination attempt on former President Trump. There wasn’t even a mention of the incident on the show. Most awards show open with a moment of reflection following distressing news events, which are, sadly, all too common.

To be fair, an opening about an assassination attempt would be tonally all wrong for a show built around epic slimings. The kids who watch and enjoy this show probably wouldn’t have understood what the moment meant for a country where violence and anger are constant facts of life.

It’s also not a surprise that so many kids’ favorites appeared on the show, including The Kid Laroi, who performed a three-song medley. Many young stars grew up watching this show. It’s a kick for them to appear on it. This show introduces young kids to the fun of watching award shows. It’s a gateway show. To tweak the title of a Billboard 200-topping album by AC/DC, “For Those About to Watch Awards Shows, We Salute You.”

Many of the winners on the show were thoroughly expected. No one could have been surprised that Barbie won favorite movie or that Taylor Swift won favorite female artist, favorite global music star or favorite ticket of the year for The Eras Tour. And the win for Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” as favorite viral song was hardly a surprise.

That doesn’t mean all awards went as expected. Take a look.

‘Barbie,’ Taylor Swift & Olivia Rodrigo Win Multiple Awards at 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards: Full Winners List

Barbie, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo all won multiple awards at the 2024 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, which were held at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion on Saturday (July 13).

Barbie won favorite movie, favorite movie actress (Margot Robbie), favorite song (Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”) and favorite music collaboration (“Barbie World” by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice with Aqua).

Swift won three awards — favorite female artist (for the third time), favorite global music star (also for the third time) and favorite ticket of the year for The Eras Tour. In addition, her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, won favorite male sports star.

Rodrigo won favorite album for GUTS (beating Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, among others) and also favorite female TV star (kids) for her role as Nini on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

Post Malone, who collaborated with Swift on “Fortnight,” a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, won favorite male artist for the first time. Imagine Dragons took favorite music group for the first time.

Reneé Rapp won favorite breakout artist. Four of the last five winners in this category identify as LGBTQ. Eilish won in 2019, followed by Lil Nas X in 2020 and Dove Cameron in 2023. The winner in 2022 was the straight-identifying Rodrigo. The category wasn’t presented in 2021.

Eilish’s win for favorite song is her third in that category, following wins for “Bad Guy” and “Happier Than Ever.” This puts Eilish in a tie with Harry Styles for the most wins in the category. Styles’ tally includes two hits with One Direction — “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Story of My Life.” Styles won as a solo artist last year for “As It Was.”  

Sabrina Carpenter took favorite viral song for “Espresso.” Bella Poarch won favorite social music star.

The show was hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke). The show recreated the undersea home of Bikini Bottom, the setting of SpongeBob SquarePants. Unsurprisingly, the show won favorite cartoon. This year marks the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, which first aired on Nickelodeon as a sneak peek after the Kids’ Choice Awards on May 1, 1999, and officially premiered on July 17 of that year.

Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 was simulcast live on the east coast at 8 p.m. ET, and on tape delay on the west coast, across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick Jr. channel, TV Land, CMT and MTV2.

Show highlights include an opening dance number, with Paul Russell performing his hit “Lil Boo Thang;” a medley performance by The Kid LAROI of “Nights Like This,” his current single “Girls” and his Hot 100-topping “Stay”; Serena Williams being honored with the Legend Gold Blimp, presented by Kelly Rowland; a halftime show moment featuring Jelly Roll, Heidi Klum and a marching band; and underwater scuba divers revealing Jack Black as favorite villain.

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 will encore on Sunday, July 14, at 10:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Nickelodeon, and 9 a.m. on Nicktoons, and on Monday, July 15, at 9 p.m. on TeenNick. All times shown are ET/PT. The show will also be available to stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, July 14.

50 Cent Posts ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin” Album Cover With Trump’s Face Following Shooting at the Former President’s Rally

Former President Donald Trump was shot at in an apparent assassination attempt on Saturday (July 13), an incident that had 50 Cent looking back at Get Rich or Die Tryin’, the rapper’s debut album. 2003 album track “Many Men (Wish Death)” references 50 surviving someone opening fire on him; he’s previously talked about an incident in which he was shot nine times.

“Trump gets shot and now I’m trending,” 50 posted on his social media accounts Saturday night. His remark, topped off with a shrugging emoji, was the caption to a Get Rich or Die Tryin’ cover edit featuring Trump’s face on his body.

Before posting the altered album art, the rapper shared a still image of Trump from Saturday’s Butler, Pennsylvania, rally, where the Republican presidential candidate had a bloodied ear and face and his fist pumped up for the crowd. Trump was surrounded by the Secret Service, who were rushing him off the stage following gunshots.

Trump is “fine,” according to a statement from spokesman Steven Cheung obtained by The New York Times. One rally attendee and the suspected shooter were killed.

“Many men wish death upon me/ Blood in my eye, dawg, and I can’t see/ I’m tryin’ to be what I’m destined to be/ And n—– tryin’ to take my life away,” 50 Cent sings on the intro of “Many Men (Wish Death).”

His breakthrough album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in 2003 and was nominated for a Grammy for best rap album.

“Many Men (Wish Death)” was never serviced as an official single, though it had a life of its own that included a music video released in 2003. Interestingly, 50 revealed two decades later that “Many Men” is his least favorite from the debut set: “We was in that hard-hitting intensity, the energy on the records, and it’s the slowest song on Get Rich or Die Tryin’. And it’s now the tempo that the artists are rapping to. So the fast tempo, hard-hitting beats, that was that era, that time period.”

In a 2013 interview with Howard Stern, 50 Cent said of his shooter, “He was paid to do it … It’s my past … It’s karma.” He told Stern, “He was paid ’cause someone felt like I would potentially do something to them if they kept going in the direction that they were going in.” He said getting shot in the face was “not as painful as having to visit the dentist repeatedly for a root canal.”

“His street credit just went up a couple points,” one of 50’s followers wrote of Trump Saturday night on the rapper’s post, where many others made light of the former president being shot at, with comments like: “Get reelected or die trying,” “Fif better let Trump use ‘many men’ during his campaign” and “He walking out at his next rally to this song.”

“Blood in my ear dawg and I can’t hear, Biden tryna take my votes away,” one person quipped, while another wrote, “Bro fighting charges and got shot… put him in the booth rn.”

It was the second of the tour’s two-night Los Angeles stand at Crypto.com Arena. With a percolating set that included classics in the songwriter-producer’s hit arsenal such as “The Way I Are,” 50 Cent’s “Ayo Technology” and Justin Timberlake’s “My Love,” Elliott’s longtime musical partner gave the packed house an appetizing taste of what would be in store later when the legend herself arrived onstage.

Fellow featured guests Ciara and Busta Rhymes brought their A games as well. Deftly catching Timbaland’s baton toss, a black leather-clad Ciara came out blazing to an explosion of audience cheers. Noting that she “just had my fourth baby,” the singer-songwriter proceeded to demonstrate she’s lost none of her formidable dancing skills as she — accompanied by a fiercely flexible dance crew — undulated, twerked and sashayed her way through crowd-pleasers like “Goodies,” “Ride,” “Like a Boy,” Promise,” “Level Up” and, of course “1, 2 Step.”

Following suit, rap legend Rhymes, alongside his fave hype man Spliff Star, ratcheted the excitement level even higher with songs like Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now” (featuring Rhymes’ signature rapid flow: “We don’t use special effects because we are the special effects,” noted Rhymes), “Turn It Up,” “I Know What You Want” and “Pass the Courvoisier.” He also brought Ty Dolla $ign and 310Babii to the stage. “We lift our artists up,” said Rhymes. “That’s what we’re supposed to do.”

Then it was Missy time. 

Her ensuing 90-minute show was divided into four acts, introduced by dancer/master of ceremonies Kanec. Act one began with the huge image of a spaceship that touched down onstage. Then a portal door, emblazoned with a giant M, rose and there stood the woman that everyone — all cheering their hearts out — had come to see. Launching into “Throw It Back,” a silver-helmeted Elliott wasted no time getting down to business as she and her 20-member dance crew got to stepping on an invigorating eight-song set that also included “We Run This,” “Sock It to Me” and “I’m Really Hot.”

Elliott left no stone unturned (“We’re going to see who the real Missy fans are.”). as the next two eight-song acts featured roaring crowd pleasers from “The Rain,” “She’s a B—-” (wearing a bubble coat that billowed out behind her at one point) and a rollicking “Get Ur Freak On” to gems “One-Minute Man,” “Drip Demeanor” and “Coochie Don’t Fail Me Now.” To give fans an equal opportunity to view the proceedings a bit closer, four circular screens near the top of the arena relayed what was happening onstage as an energetic, red-haired Elliott went toe-to-toe with her male and female troupe of dancers. And at one point, to get even closer to fans during the second act, she hopped onto a smaller circular platform that was rolled out above the fans on the floor.

In act four, “the last stop on the planet,” Elliott (wearing a large pink fake fur hat) and crew donned graffiti-splashed outfits whose kaleidoscopic neon colors flashed brightly onstage (as did bracelets that were distributed upon entering Crypto). Segueing from a “WTF (Where They From)” mashup to “Bring the Pain” and another rousing fan fave “Work It,” Elliott surprised everyone by coming offstage and walking the perimeter of the venue, a seeming victory lap with her smilingly slapping hands as she passed by clamoring fans. Coming back onstage, Elliott rounded off the final act of her love fest with “Pass Dat Dutch” and “Dance with Me” before ripping it up with Timbaland on “Up Jumps the Boogie,” Rhymes on “Touch It” and Ciara on “Lose Control.”

“I say this every place I go,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer said toward the show’s end. “I never take for granted that you spent your hard-earned money; this means a lot. I appreciate every last one of you all. Amen!” And as a satiated crowd filed out of Crypto.com, their comments echoed what Rhymes had noted earlier in his show: “Thank you, Missy, for putting us all together.”
