No surprise, Justin Timberlake gets a slap on the wrist following his DWI antics.
Spotted on Deadline, the “Cry Me A River” singer will only have to pay a tiny fine but will not face drunk driving charges after accepting lesser charges as part of a plea deal.
Per Deadline:
Under the agreement, the ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ singer will enter a guilty plea of a traffic violation, a far lesser charge. Additionally, Timberlake will have to pay a fine of around $300 to $500 depending on what a judge decides on September 13 when the deal is expected to be rubber stamped and made official.
The plea deal will see the initial Driving While Intoxicated misdemeanor charge dropped. That charge carried a maximum of one year behind bars and a $2500 fine.
While Timberlake did get off easy, the website reports that he can no longer drive in New York state for almost another year because he refused to take a breathalyzer test when Sag Harbor police pulled him over.
The office of Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke, who was adamant about his client’s innocence, told Deadline, “for right now he’s not making any comment,” following news of the plea agreement.
What Happened The Night Justin Timberlake Was Pulled Over?
Timberlake was pinched on June 18 after a boozy night on the town with friends at the posh Long Island summer beach destination in the Hamptons.
In the criminal complaint filed by the arresting officer, Timberlake was pulled over after failing to stop at a stop sign while driving a rented BMW SUV.
The officer described Timberlake as being “in an intoxicated condition” with “bloodshot and glassy” eyes and giving off “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.”
Timberlake told the officer he only had one martini and refused to take a breathalyzer exam.
He was on a weeklong break from his international tour, pushing his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was.

Justin Timberlake is trying to save his name anyway he can. His lawyer claims he wasn’t intoxicated during his recent DUI arrest.
As reported by Digital Music News, the musician is set to virtually appear at a hearing next week regarding his driving under the influence charges. But his attorney’s hope is that the case can be dismissed entirely. His attorney Edward D. Burke Jr. claims the the case is “procedurally defective” and says the “young, part-time” badge who booked the singer did not follow proper procedure.
After concluding a hearing on Friday, July 26, he detailed his stance further to reporters outside of the court. “The most important thing we have to say today is obviously that Justin should not have been arrested for driving while intoxicated,” he explained. “The police made a number of very significant errors in this case, and you heard the District Attorney try to fix one of those errors just this morning upstairs in court.” He went on to add that Justin Timberlake “cooperated with the police offers from the second he was ordered out of his car to the second he was discharged on June 18. But the facts remain: he was not intoxicated. I’ll say it again: Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated and we’re confident that charge — that criminal charge — will be dismissed.”
According to Sag Harbor Village Police Department, Justin Timberlake told the arresting officer “I had one martini, and I followed my friends home.” He then was asked to perform a field sobriety test to which he did “poorly.” The report states he appeared to be “in an intoxicated condition” and emitted “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.”

The duo’s latest venture will see the transformation of the beloved New Picture House Cinema into a high-end T-Squared Social location.
Following the success of their New York City flagship, Timberlake and Woods’ latest upscale sports bar project will feature state-of-the-art sports simulators, duckpin bowling and darts while also preserving two original cinema screens – a nod to the venue’s rich history.

Fife Council has given the project the green light, praising its potential to revitalize the area. The renovation is expected to create 40 to 45 new jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy. According to the documents, the plans will allow locals to “experience a broader range of cinema, dining and entertainment” and will be “crucial in helping to secure a cinema offering going forward.”
According to the project’s terms of approval, work needs to commence within the next three years.
For Timberlake, the St Andrews location holds special significance. The “Mirrors” singer is no stranger to the legendary links, having competed in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in 2019.
Christopher Anand, CEO of Nexus Luxury Collection, the real estate venture behind T-Squared Social, stated, “We’re committed to honoring the theatre’s legacy while creating a modern entertainment destination.”
The announcement comes at a challenging time for Timberlake, who recently faced legal trouble with a DWI arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, on June 18.
The singer addressed the incident three days later during a concert in Chicago on June 21, telling the crowd, “It’s been a tough week. I know I’m hard to love sometimes, but you keep loving me right back. We’ve been together through ups and downs, lefts and rights … but you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now.”
During his June 29 performance in Boston, the singer seemed to address his arrest with a touch of humor. “So, uh, is there anyone here tonight that is driving?” Timberlake asked the cheering crowd in a fan-captured clip posted on TikTok. “No, I’m just kidding,” he quickly added.
JT’s lawyer Edward Burke Jr. has stated that he will “vigorously” defend the star against the allegations. “He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time,” Burke said in a statement.

The incident has not only made headlines but also inspired an art piece featuring his mugshot.
The artwork, created by artist Godfrey Lohman and titled “Tuesday Night Out Featuring Justin Timberlake,” has garnered significant interest, according to the gallery, with visitors lining up to view and photograph the piece that is available in several colors including pink, green, and blue.
Gallery owner Romany Kramoris expressed her excitement over the artwork, saying, “My reaction was, ‘Oh my God! That’s great! It’s just great!’” she told Page Six. Kramoris, fondly known as the “Queen of Sag Harbor” after operating her gallery for 44 years, added that the piece has become the gallery’s “most contemporary” work.
The gallery has sold “two or three” of the works at $520 each so far, and, “a lot of people are coming back,” Kramoris said.
Despite his arrest, Timberlake’s Forget Tomorrow World Tour is set to continue as scheduled, with upcoming shows in Chicago and New York City before embarking on an overseas leg in late July.
During his June 29 performance in Boston, the singer seemed to address his arrest with a touch of humor, asking the crowd, “So, uh, is there anyone here tonight that is driving?” The comment drew a mixture of gasps and laughter from the audience, which he quickly followed up with, “No, I’m just kidding,” before resuming his performance.
The singer had previously addressed the incident during a Chicago concert on June 21, telling the crowd, “It’s been a tough week. I know I’m hard to love sometimes, but you keep loving me right back. We’ve been together through ups and downs, lefts and rights … but you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now.”
Timberlake’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., has vowed to “vigorously” defend the singer against the allegations, stating, “He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time.”
Timberlake’s next court hearing is scheduled for July 26, coinciding with his performance at Tauron Arena Krakow in Poland.

Justin Timberlake was arrested earlier this week in the New York borough of Long Island after officers observed erratic driving from the popular singer and entertainer. According to reports, Justin Timberlake was booked and released without bail on the same day and has a court date on the books.
Justin Timberlake, 43, was arrested on Tuesday (June 18) in Long Island’s Sag Harbor area after an officer says he observed Timberlake’s gray BMW vehicle swerving out of his proper lane and failing to stop at a traffic sign as reported by local outlet NBC New York.
More from NBC New York:
An officer observed the grey BMW with Florida license plates that Timberlake had been driving as it twice failed to stay on the right side of the road shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday in Sag Harbor, according to the criminal complaint. He also allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign on Madison Street at Jermain Avenue, before having trouble staying on his side of the road.
The cop who stopped him said the so-dubbed “Prince of Pop” appeared to be drunk, with bloodshot, glassy eyes and a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. The complaint says Timberlake was unsteady and had slowed speech; he also allegedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests. They said he couldn’t focus on speaking to police while he was looking for his registration, either.
The outlet adds that Timberlake’s attorney says he’s prepared to defend the singer against the allegations put forth in the arresting officer’s complaint.
“I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations,” said attorney Edward Burke Jr.
Justin Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, is reportedly in town filming The Better Sister television series for Amazon Prime.
Timberlake’s court date is set for July 26, but does not have to appear as he has a tour stop on that date.

Timbaland is offering up an apology for a comment he made about Britney Spears in reference to artist and collaborate Justin Timberlake recently.
The hit producer Timbaland was sitting down for an interview with fellow beatmaker 9th Wonder at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on October 29. An audience member asked Timbaland about Britney Spears’ mentioning of former boyfriend Justin Timberlake in her recently released memoir, The Woman In Me. “She’s going crazy, right?”, Timbaland began with a laugh, before saying: “I wanted to call and say, ‘JT, man, you gotta put a muzzle on that girl.’”
The audience’s reaction was filled with laughter and some murmurs as Timbaland continued, stating that Spears’ intent in writing the memoir detailing her life under conservatorship and the numerous moments of the trauma she endured was to “go viral”. “We live in an age of social media and […] everybody wanna go viral,” he said. “I get it ’cause that’s the way you make money, go viral – I gotta do something that gets people’s attention.”
The comments would soon become viral, with many chastising Timbaland for being crass. It prompted the producer to apologize during his regular TikTok live sessions on Tuesday (November 7). “I apologize to the Britney fans and her,” he said as he read a comment discussing the remarks. “Yes, ‘you know about respecting women?’ Hell yeah.”
In The Woman In Me, Spears wrote extensively about her three-year relationship with Timberlake, revealing that she had an abortion: “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.” The pop star also spoke about the “Cry Me A River” music video, which she felt made her look like a “harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy,” after their 2002 breakup, even noting how the woman in the video bore a resemblance to her.

With the VMAs, there always seems to be some drama. Many viewers thought Megan Thee Stallion had some drama with Justin Timberlake backstage, but the leader of the Hot Girls shut that all down.
On a night when Megan Thee Stallion made her big return to the music world, hitting the VMAs’ red carpet looking as fine as she wanted to be in a sheer number, as fans waited to see her join Cardi B on the VMAs’ stage to perform their new released single “Bongos.”
Before the two rappers and good friends hit the stage, an incident caught on MTV VMAs’ backstage camera had users on X (formerly known as Twitter) reacting.
A video of Megan Thee Stallion while getting ready for her “Bongos” performance, seemingly involved in a heated back and forth with Justin Timberlake, who was in attendance as part of the N’Sync reunion, began making its rounds.
What Really Happened Between Megan Thee Stallion & Justin Timberlake
Following their performance of “Bongos,” reports quickly surfaced that the exchange between Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake was much ado about nothing.
Per Vulture:
While fans were ready to ride for their stallion, Variety confirmed with a source that there was no fight at all, saying the interaction was actually “very cute.” Timberlake allegedly told Megan that it was nice to meet her, but Megan wanted more than a quick hello. “She said, ‘No, no, this don’t count, this don’t count. We gotta meet proper,’” the source explained. Maybe a Megan Thee Stallion and’ N Sync collab was the surprise Taylor Swift was hoping for.

4. They did
Justin Timberlake is no stranger to a good collaboration. His wide-ranging voice blends seamlessly throughout a number of genres, and his decades-long experience in the music industry has allowed him to make several high-profile, talented friends along the way.
In 2020, the Trolls World Tour soundtrack was unleashed with the help of two new Timberlake duets: “The Other Side” (with SZA) and “Don’t Slack” (with Anderson .Paak). Most recently, in 2022, he teamed up with Calvin Harris, Halsey and Pharrell Williams for “Stay With Me,” featured on Harris’ Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2.
In honor of his decades of music magic, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite JT collabs, from pop to hip-hop and R&B. See them below.
“Dead & Gone” – T.I. feat. Justin Timberlake
In 2008, this song was inescapable. The single came following T.I.’s smash Paper Trail album, which claimed two Hot 100 No. 1s with “Whatever You Like” and the Rihanna-assisted “Live Your Life.” T.I.’s flow mixed with JT’s melodic chorus paints a cinematic picture of leaving your old self in the past.

“My Love” – Justin Timberlake feat. T.I.
Speaking of T.I. collabs, 2006’s “My Love” was a definite standout from Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds album. The album is still a staple at clubs, and gets the whole crowd going with the instantly recognizable opening line of “Ain’t another woman that can take your spot, my love.”

“SexyBack (Remix)” – Justin Timberlake feat. Missy Elliot & Timbaland
Yes, we all know JT brought sexy back with Timbaland on his 2006 hit, but did you know the song got a fun twist from Missy Elliott? The DJ Wayne Williams Ol’ Skool Remix of the tune features a new opening verse from Elliott and another flow before Timberlake’s last verse. Elliott puts references the already risqué lyrics in her own way by rapping, “Don’t you like the way I make you be my little slave?/ Whip you like a kid every time you misbehave.”

“Love Sex Magic” – Ciara feat. Justin Timberlake
The songstress called on JT for her 2009 Fantasy Ride tune. The duo trade honeyed and sultry verses alongside an equally seductive music video in which Ciara gets flexible on an attentive Justin.

“TKO (Remix)” – Justin Timberlake feat. A$AP Rocky, J. Cole and Pusha T
A total knockout to say the least. A$AP Rocky, J. Cole and Pusha T trade verses on a cold-hearted woman over The 20/20 Experience track’s menacing beat, before JT comes in with the explosive chorus.

“Holy Grail” – Justin Timberlake feat. Jay-Z
Jay-Z and JT explore the struggles with fame in the lead single off the rapper’s 2013 album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. “Caught up in all these lights and cameras/ But look what that s—- did to Hammer/ Goddammit I like it,” Jay-Z raps in his verse, in response to JT’s proclamation, “Sipping from your cup ’til it runneth over, Holy Grail.”

“Cabaret” – Justin Timberlake feat. Drake
JT’s process for seduction is laid out in the alluring “Cabaret,” featured on his 2013 album, The 20/20 Experience. Drizzy hops in for a high-energy third verse, rapping, “Got a bunch of old girls that I threw away for ya/ I been in the gym doing two-a-days for ya/ So I can lift ya up when I do the thang to ya.”

“Rehab” – Rihanna feat. Justin Timberlake

“Suit & Tie” – Justin Timberlake feat. Jay-Z
The moment we had all been waiting for in 2013. Timberlake had been on a six-year hiatus since the release of FutureSex/LoveSounds, and finally satisfied fans itching for new music with the release of The 20/20 Experience’s lead single, “Suit & Tie.” The sleek, nostalgic tune features a guest verse from frequent collaborator Jay-Z, who stunts that the duo are decked in “Tom Ford tuxedos for no reason.”

“Say Something” – Justin Timberlake feat. Chris Stapleton
JT’s 2018 album, Man of the Woods, only had two features, and they did not disappoint. “Say Something” was the star track of the album, marking Timberlake’s first musical dip into his country, Tennesseean roots. The modern-yet-acoustic feel to the tune is complete with Stapleton’s husky vocals and the duo’s soaring harmonies.
Listen here.
“Morning Light” – Justin Timberlake feat. Alicia Keys
Man of the Woods’ second collab comes in the form of the peaceful love song with vocals from Alicia Keys. “I’m in love with you/ Laying here in the morning light/ And all I want to do, is hold you tight just one more night/ Yes I’m in love with you,” the duo sing in the sugary sweet chorus.
Listen here.
“4 Minutes” – Madonna feat. Justin Timberlake
The Queen of Pop and Timberlake share a flirtatious back-and-forth in this 2008 hit, as they claim to have the four-minute length of the song to “save the world.” The urgency builds in the “tick tock tick tock” Madonna teases at the end before the tune’s final breakdown.

According to TMZ, who first shared the news, the 18-year-old got into an argument with his 15-year-old friend at California Pizza Kitchen and ended up pushing a table. Police told the publication that the shopping center security attempted to escort McKenna off the property, but he became increasingly aggressive and ended up grabbing an officer’s hand when it was placed on his chest to stop the fight. That’s when he was arrested and booked at Naples Jail Center for felony battery on a law enforcement officer and two misdemeanors, resisting arrest and obstruction of an officer.
McKenna’s mom, Tracy, told TMZ that her son wasn’t drunk, as the initial report said, but rather just “horsing around” with his friends. One of the people he was hanging out with pulled the chair out from under him, and that’s when he pushed the table in an attempt to be funny.
“I just thought to myself, ‘I’ll never get this opportunity again in my whole life,” the Massachusetts said in 2018 after snapping his selfie with Timberlake. “I just went for it.”
McKenna’s dad said they realized very quickly that his son was turning into an internet sensation. “My phone started blowing up,” father John McKenna told St. Paul Pioneer Press at the time. “It died, like, instantly after it happened. We had friends from all over reaching out. I couldn’t believe it.”

If you watched the 2023 Grammys, you probably know that Lil Wayne was honored with the Global Impact Award. What most people likely don’t know is that the award was reportedly going to none other than pop legend Janet Jackson, until things got too deep when Jantet’s people demanded CBS atone for villainizing her after the infamous Super Bowl XXXVIII half-time show incident with Justin Timberlake.
Actually, TMZ Sports noted that it’s unclear whether both Wayne and Jackson were supposed to receive the award or if Wayne got it once things went south with the “Control” singer. But what is clear is that since the half-time show where Jackson’s breast was exposed due to a wardrobe malfunction was broadcast by CBS, and CBS disinvited Janet to that year’s Grammys ceremony because of it, the network was going to need to make things right before Ms. Jackson (if you’re nasty) just lets bygones be bygones and graces the stage this year. Obviously, none of the above ended up happening.
From TMZ Sports:
Sources connected to The Grammys tell us … the Grammys wanted to bestow Janet with a Global Impact Award, but there was a snag. Recording Academy honchos wanted Janet to attend a pre-Grammy event with the Black Music Collective days before the main event to accept the award, but her schedule wouldn’t allow it. From there, we’re told discussions pivoted to a way Janet could receive the honor during the actual broadcast, but that presented another problem … CBS never made amends with Janet for making her persona non grata after the wardrobe malfunction
It was Super Bowl XXXVIII, broadcast on CBS, when Justin Timberlake ripped Janet’s top, revealing her breast. The network received a ton of flack over the incident, and CBS CEO Les Moonves pulled Janet’s invite to the Grammys that year. Our sources say Janet’s team and Grammy organizers began talking about ways CBS could either apologize or figure out a way to acknowledge how she was treated by the network, but things just got too complicated and talks ended.Honestly, Janet Jackson and her team should be commended for sticking to their guns and not allowing CBS or the Grammys to be blessed with her presence without first acknowledging the harm they caused. It just sounds like Janet chose herself over some janky award stage that didn’t want her when it wasn’t convenient. And that was the right choice.–
