For years, sneakerheads and sneaker aficionados have been complaining that many of the grails released over the years have been “backdoored” by store employees and even store owners (we’ll never forgive you Marcus Jordan). Now, well-known sneaker collector Jadakiss is preparing a documentary centered around the practice, and it’s coming sooner than y’all think.
According to Sneaker News, Jay-to-the-muah has taken it upon himself to delve into the loathed practice of employees and employees backdooring highly sought after sneakers to the highest bidders (we thought he was one of those bidders?) –for a new documentary dubbed Back Door. Directed by Set Free Richardson and narrated by Jadakiss, the documentary will show how these deals play out and how consumers end up with the short end of the stick when it comes to highly anticipated sneaker releases.
Sneaker News reports:
While early details about the project are very scant, there’s obviously a ton to glean from the announcement and the title alone. Sharing word of the project with the hashtag “#NoStoresAreExcluded,” the ostensible focus of the piece will be retailers allotting pairs to friends & family far before release day, placing a severe cap on the inventory that actually makes it into public hands. There have been a slew of notable flare-ups surrounding the controversial practice in the past decade, providing a ton of ground to cover in this presumable expose-style piece.
Importantly, this won’t be Jadakiss’ first foray into documentary, or presumably, heading a project of this kind. He was a central narrator for the Ghostface Killah-led Clarks Wallabee documentary that chronicled that seminal footwear style, and sat in the director’s chair for his episode of Dapper Dan’s autobiography series, “Uncensored.”
Should be interesting to see who this documentary puts on blast as many high profile people in the sneaker game have at some time been accused of backdooring their sneakers for profit.
Heck, even Jadakiss has been seen making off with a bunch of pairs of highly limited sneakers that people weren’t able to get their hands on, including the Nike SB “Orange” Lobster Dunks just a few years ago.
We know he ain’t win all those pairs through the raffle system we all have to abide by. Just sayin’. What do y’all think of the new Back Door documentary? Sound off in the comments section below.

Jadakiss and Jim Jones joined forces to march with healthcare workers to the New York governor’s office to demand action on Medicaid.
On Saturday (March 23), members of the 1199SEIU healthcare workers union marched in New York City to the office of New York Governor Kathy Hochul to protest the new restrictions that she has placed concerning Medicaid. Joining them on the march were two top-notch rappers – Jadakiss and Jim Jones. The Dipset MC shared footage of himself and the Lox artist marching with the healthcare workers in the rain in a post on Instagram.
“What we doin?” Jadakiss asks as Jim Jones holds up the camera to capture the moment. “We gettin’ our steps on like Malcolm and Martin, out here for a good cause,” Jones replies. In the caption of the post, he wrote: “Special shout out to all the #1199Healthcare workers who show up for the cause today and march to fight for [what’s] right,” also adding:
“The government is only covering 70 percent of Medicaid cost at our new York hospitals [and] clinics. This 30 percent gap is causing underfunding [which] cause the hospitals to b[e] understaffed then eventually havin’ to close [their] doors. To prevent this from happening we [need] everyone to let the governor know we need the 30 percent to [be] implemented immediately. Shouts to @hot97 [and] @funkflex for keeping the city united when we need it the most @jadakiss.”
In January, 1199SEIU called on Governor Hochul to stop underpaying the state’s hospitals on Medicaid claims. Currently, only 70% of all bills under Medicaid are paid fully. “Over seven million New Yorkers rely on Medicaid services, the majority of whom come from Black and Latino communities. Despite the fact that Medicaid provides vital coverage to these New Yorkers, the state pays hospitals 30% less than the actual cost of needed care,” their statement reads. The practice has led to the closure of two major hospitals in New York City and 15 maternity centers in the state.
The march is the second time Jadakiss has been spotted outside in service of the people. He was recently seen offering support to those incarcerated in the Rikers Island prison system, bringing them pizza from the viral eatery, Cuts N’ Slices.
“Didn’t break my fast but I did let the brothers enjoy the meal and festivities,” he wrote in the caption.

Jadakiss and Dave East get together for a special edition of the popular I Got Questions interview series to mark Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary.
The celebration of Hip-Hop turning 50 is still going strong, and many have come together to talk about their experiences and love for the different aspects of the culture. In that light, two of the greatest MCs in rap music in Jadakiss and Dave East linked up to share their stories in a new episode of the iONE Digital series to mark the occasion.

As both artists hold court in a luxurious speakeasy lounge, Dave East kicks things off by asking The LOX veteran if he remembered the first time they met. “Not at all”, Jadakiss stated. “Every time you’d come up to D-Block, I wouldn’t be around. But I heard about you and heard your music way before I met you.”
The conversation turn to focus on when both rappers felt that they were among the best in the game. For Jadakiss, it was being beloved by The Notorious B.I.G. “We used to write rhymes that we wanted him to hear. Then after being signed to Bad Boy, having him tell us “I’m glad y’all are down with me…”that’s a cream-of-the-crop moment right there.” Dave East concurred, citing a co-sign from Nas as his moment. “Having Esco co-sign me, then it was Rae, Meth and the Wu?,” he said. “Gotta cherish that moment man.”
They also spoke about the love they receive from fans on the road, with Dave East recounting how amazed he was on a recent tour date in Canada seeing fans recite songs word for word. It prompted Jadakiss to recall what he called “the worst show ever in life” involving him and a lack of comfortable boxers.
