From Tinashe’s brash new album to Halsey’s rock-tinged new track, check out just a few of our favorite releases from this week below:
Tinashe, Quantum Baby
[embedded content]
For the last few months, Tinashe has been loudly asking if somebody would please match her freak. Now, the pop star is ready to match her own freak with her brand new album Quantum Baby. Throughout her brief, 8-song album that serves as a follow-up to the viral success of lead single “Nasty,” Tinashe flexes her artistic dexterity, flowing effortlessly between moving R&B ballads (like on early album standout “Red Flags”) or gassed-up anthems (the ebullient “No Broke Boys” in particular). Don’t let the scientific title fool you — there’s nothing small about Quantum Baby.

Halsey, “Lonely Is the Muse”
[embedded content]
For fans who were hoping to hear more of Halsey’s If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power rock sound, “Lonely Is the Muse” is for you. On this heartbreaking new goth rock track, Halsey rages against the cycle of inspiration-becomes-commodity that she’s experienced throughout her career, wondering at what point in this process she’s meant to find meaning or joy. Her accolades, myriad though they may be, don’t make up for the empty feeling she finds herself translating to this punchy rock song, as she boldly declares that she’s tired of being “reduced to just a body here in someone else’s bed.”
The Blessed Madonna feat. Kylie Minogue, “Edge of Saturday Night”
[embedded content]
Why let a good party end when you could just keep it going? That’s the vibe that suffuses The Blessed Madonna’s delectable new dance cut “Edge of Saturday Night,” featuring guest vocals from none other than pop superstar Kylie Minogue. Over a set of Madonna’s crunchy house pianos and a blistering beat, Minogue narrates the story of a party gone right, as the pair dive deeper into the evening with this excellent new single.
Pale Waves, “Gravity”
[embedded content]
Where Chappell Roan left off with “Good Luck, Babe,” Pale Waves is ready to grab the baton and run with it. On the band’s dream-rock-inspired new song “Gravity” tells the story of a girl frontwoman Heather Baron-Gracie met who “chose Jesus over me,” as she explains in a statement. Despite her best attempts to not let this girl pull her in, Baron-Gracie can’t quite resist, as she belts about being pulled back to into her would-be lover’s orbit. And much like the lyrics state, you can try to resist the orbital draw of this song’s glimmering melodies, but we have a feeling you’ll find its pull too irresistible.
Hope Tala, “Thank Goodness”
[embedded content]
Hope Tala used to feel bad about her breakup — instead, she’s saying “phew.” On “Thank Goodness,” Tala’s excellent new track, sees the singer employing her honed neo-soul sound to let her former lover know that she’s doing way better without them. Over a light bass line and some kinetic drums, Tala celebrates dodging the bullet that would be a continued relationship with her ex. As she puts it, “Thought I’d go back, but I didn’t do it/ Thank goodness.”
Peach PRC, “Time of My Life”
[embedded content]
In a time when many pop artists are choosing to do less, Australian up-and-comer Peach PRC is swinging in the exact opposite direction. With her latest song “Time of My Life,” Peach offers a masterclass in pop maximalism as she reminisces on some complicated memories through her own, unique brand of rose-colored glasses. Add in the high camp music video — which sees the singer combining her fairy princess aesthetic in an all-women’s prison — and you’ve got a deliriously fun pop track on your hands.
Check out all of our picks below on Billboard’s Queer Jams of the Week playlist:

As shared exclusively with Billboard Friday (Aug. 16), the streaming service has recruited Scherzinger to be a mentor and judge alongside judges Payne and Rowland. McLean is set to host the series. Scherzinger previously served on judging panels for The X Factor, Masked Singer and The Sing-Off.
With its team of experienced boy/girl band experts on lock (which encompasses members of the Pussycat Dolls, One Direction, Destiny’s Child and Backstreet Boys), Building the Band will bring together a number of talented singers and task them with forming their own bands without ever seeing each other. Isolated in individual booths, all they’ll have to go on when selecting their bandmates is musical compatibility, connection, chemistry and merit, according to a release.
Trending on Billboard
“What will happen when the bands finally meet, and looks, choreography, and style come into play?” a description reads. “With incredible performances, compelling drama, and one big goal — to find the next great music band — the stage is set for an unforgettable experience.”
Additional announcements regarding guest judges and the show’s various challenges are yet to come. Production companies Remarkable Entertainment and Banijay UK are behind the project, with Cat Lawson, Alison Holloway, Katrina Morrison, Clara Elliot and Simon Crossley on board as executive producers.
“Building the Band is a brave and bold undertaking for all involved as we hand over power to the singers themselves to form their own band based on chemistry first,” Lawson said in a statement. “With looks out of the equation, can they create a deeper connection with their bandmates? With limited bands, there are difficult decisions and heart stopping moments along the way, but ultimately the outcome is truly amazing, with bands forming who in my opinion are worthy of the very biggest stage.”

Want to be a “Presley for a Day”? Here’s your chance. You and three of your closest friends can undertake a seven-hour insider experience at Elvis Presley’s Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.
Before you get your heart set on the idea, we should warn you that this day doesn’t come cheap. The Presley for a Day Tour is $6,000 for a group of up to four people. (We tried to brace you so you wouldn’t get “All Shook Up,” though you may still choose to mark this one “Return to Sender.”)
A portion of the proceeds from each tour will go to support local Memphis charities through the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation, with additional proceeds supporting Graceland’s ongoing commitment to the beautification, preservation, and enhancement of Presley’s home and grounds.
Trending on Billboard
Launching Sept. 6, the new Presley for a Day Tour will be limited to only eight guests per day and provide access to some of the Presley family’s favorite places on the Graceland grounds for the first time since it opened to the public in 1982.
Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy access to the family’s favorite activities with golf cart rides around the grounds, a horse photo op and guided walk through the home’s front pasture, and a “high-end dinner” at the newly renovated Moriah’s House, which is said to offer stunning views of Graceland’s landscape from the back pasture. (Moriah’s House was named after Lisa Marie Presley’s pony, which was once housed there.)
The Presley for a Day Tour is just the first of many events, tours and expansions that will be announced over the next three years as Graceland prepares for the 50th anniversary of Elvis’ death on Aug. 16, 1977. The legendary star was just 42 at the time, and had been famous for half of his life. His death, in the era before Entertainment Tonight and TMZ, before the Internet and social media, still set off shockwaves. Presley had been a superstar on records, in films and on TV for 21 years, with tremendous highs, a few lows, triumphant comebacks and a tragic end that is still hard to accept.
The culmination of Graceland’s “On the Road to 50” will be Elvis Week 2027, when Graceland hosts the largest gathering of Elvis fans from around the globe.
The Presley for a Day Tour is a seven-hour experience for a group of up to four people (two tour groups per day available) that includes:
Personalized Concierge Service: Concierge will work with guests to plan out their experience before arrival.
Personal Tour Guide: Guests will have their own personal tour guide throughout their entire experience.
Guided Tours: Tours of Presley’s Memphis entertainment complex and Elvis’ Airplanes with their dedicated guide, plus exclusive photo opportunities and special “white-glove artifact experiences.”
Golf Cart Transportation: Guests will be chauffeured around the Graceland property on a golf cart by their guide and treated to an outdoor tour of the mansion grounds.
Graceland Stable Tour & Horse Experience: Tour of the Graceland Stables before a guided walk on a horse through Graceland’s front pasture and photo op with horse with Graceland Mansion as a backdrop.
Access to Moriah’s House: Guests will have access to this newly restored space, located in the Graceland pasture, to relax and enjoy dinner, while taking in views of Graceland Mansion and surrounding grounds.
Elevated Dining Experience: High-end meal at Moriah’s House while enjoying views of Graceland from the enclosed deck. From Southern BBQ favorites to gourmet delights, this exclusive dining experience will be tailored to guest preferences.
Graceland Archives Experience: Guests can get a glimpse into the archival work that goes on behind-the-scenes at Graceland — from conservation work on one of Elvis’ sequined jumpsuits or cataloging one of the more than 90,000 photos.
After-Hours Graceland Mansion Tour: After their meal, guests enjoy a guided after-hours tour of Graceland Mansion with exclusive photo ops and white glove experiences.
Exclusive Swag Bag: Each guest will receive a bag of items (valued at more than $450), exclusive to Presley for a Day Tour guests.
For an additional fee (!), fans can stay overnight at Graceland’s resort hotel, The Guest House at Graceland, and enjoy such treats as banana cupcakes with peanut butter frosting, a favorite of the king. A specialty suite package offers personalized service, including breakfast-in-room service any time of day, charcuterie and champagne upon arrival, turndown service, plus a private midnight movie screening in the Guest House Theater. (Elvis starred in 33 movies – 31 in which he acted, from Love Me Tender in 1956 to Change of Habit in 1969, followed by two concert documentaries.)
Presley for a Day Tours are now available to book for dates starting Sept. 6 through January 2025 at Graceland.com. Find details here.
