Real Rap RAW: Kevin Hart Aka “Chocolate Droppa” Makes Tiny Desk Debut, X Is Crying

Kevin Hart pulled off a crazy April Fools’ stunt when he dropped a Tiny Desk NPR performance as his rap alter ego, “Chocolate Droppa.”

Nobody saw it coming, but Hart went all in, delivering what he called “real rap RAW” with all the energy and humor you’d expect from him. For those who forgot, it’s been over nine years since Droppa dropped his debut mixtape, which had big collabs with Migos, Big Sean, and more. Hart wasn’t just joking around; he was spitting bars with the same confidence as any rapper in the game.

The performance was a mix of comedy and rap, with Kevin bringing his usual over-the-top personality, rapping with an extra layer of swag. His lines were funny, clever, and full of that signature Chocolate Droppa style. He wasn’t taking himself too seriously, but he also wasn’t playing when it came to showing off his skills.

The internet went wild after the performance dropped. X, Instagram, and everywhere else were flooded with memes, jokes, and people laughing at how serious Kevin was about his rap career. Fans were having a blast, joking about whether Droppa was actually coming back to drop more music or if it was just a one-time joke. Either way, it was an April Fools’ prank that had everyone laughing—and reminded us that Kevin Hart’s got more talent than we might’ve realized.

Liza Minnelli Is Headed to the ‘Drag Race’ Season 17 Finale

For 17 seasons, RuPaul’s Drag Race has served as a launch pad for new pop icons. Now, the show is honoring its inspirations by recognizing EGOT winner Liza Minnelli as a cultural icon who paved the way for entertainers like RuPaul.

On Tuesday (April 1), Drag Race announced that RuPaul will present Minnelli with the show’s “Giving Us Lifetime Achievement” award during the season 17 finale on Friday, April 18. Minnelli, who has long been heralded as both an ally for the LGBTQ+ community and a gay icon, will appear on-stage during the finale to receive the award.

Minnelli — who is one of the producers of the off-Broadway hit Drag: The Musical, an original play starring several Drag Race alumni — will be the third recipient of the award, which has been given out at every season finale of the show since season 15. The first-ever award was given to fashion designer Bob Mackie (who served as the very first guest judge on Drag Race), while Cassandra Peterson (better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark) received the second iteration of the honor in last year’s finale.

This won’t be the first time that Drag Race has paid homage to Liza with a Z. During the show’s iconic Snatch Game challenge in season 9, Alexis Michelle delivered a hilarious impression of Minnelli that ended up winning the challenge — Billboard even ranked Michelle’s performance at No. 11 on our list of the best musical impersonations in the challenge’s format.

Meanwhile, season 17 of RuPaul’s Drag Race is currently ranked as the No. 1 show on cable among 18 to 34-year-olds, according to a press release from Paramount. Five queens — Jewels Sparkles, Lexi Love, Onya Nurve, Sam Star and Suzie Toot — remain in the competition, with two more episodes to go before the grand finale.

Jayden Dandridge, the man accused of fatally shooting rap artist Sayso P and wounding Houston rapper Sauce Walka, has been found dead in Houston.

According to People Magazine, authorities confirmed Jayden Dandridge’s death just days after he was publicly identified as the primary suspect in the Memphis shooting that occurred on March 22. Dandridge, was wanted for his alleged involvement in the attack, which took place outside a Memphis business. Sauce, whose real name is Albert Mondane, was injured in the shooting, while his artist/friend, Sayso P, was killed.

The violent incident sent shockwaves through the Hip-Hop community, as Sauce Walka is a well-respected figure in the rap world. Law enforcement had been searching for Dandridge in connection with the case, and his death adds another tragic layer to an already devastating situation. Authorities have not yet released details about the circumstances surrounding his death, including whether foul play was involved.

The killing of Sayso P and the wounding of Sauce Walka have drawn attention to the ongoing violence within the rap industry, with many artists and fans expressing their grief and frustration over the loss of another rising talent. While police continue to investigate both the Memphis shooting and Dandridge’s death, the case underscores the dangers that many Hip-Hop artists face.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Season 17 Power Ranking: Episode 13 — Make Me Over

With RuPaul’s Drag Race bringing back their Rate-a-Queen system for season 17, Billboard decided to rate each of the new queens every week based on their performance. Below, we take a look at the emotional makeover challenge to see which queens became proud drag parents to their proud real parents. Spoilers ahead for episode 13.

It is a time-honored tradition on RuPaul’s Drag Race to have the queens put someone else in drag. The show has given us dozens of different permutations of this challenge — queens have made over veterans. athletes, members of the Pit Crew, even other eliminated queens.

But in the latest episode of the franchise (aired Friday, March 28), Drag Race decided to go for the emotional jugular, having the remaining contestants make over members of their actual family into members of their drag family. Reuniting with their moms or dads, the contestants put together a look, painted their parent’s faces and presented them on the runway for the judges, all while showing their family what it’s actually like to be a drag artist.

Much has been made over the year’s about Drag Race‘s attempts at sentimentality — fans and former contestants regularly make fun of RuPaul asking the contestants what they would say to their younger selves at the end of the competition. But this episode highlights what a subversive phenomenon Drag Race still is today. What other episode of modern television shows a trans drag performer working through a rocky relationship with her mother, a work-in-progress who is trying to be better after kicking her child out of the house? Given the combative and horrific political climate we find ourselves in today, this episode of Drag Race feels like a breath of fresh air.

Now, for the results: after winding up in the bottom the week prior, Sam Star took home her third challenge win for transforming her mother into Sassy Star. Frontrunner Onya Nurve and underdog Jewels Sparkles, meanwhile, wound up in the bottom for their makeovers of their dads. Lip synching to Amerie’s “1 Thing,” the duo delivered a stunning performance — so stunning, that RuPaul decided no one would be going home this week.

Jewels was in a tough spot this week — as the only queen with fewer than two wins, she was being viewed by her competitors as the weakest link. Unfortunately, she proved the other queens right in the challenge; compared to the other queens’ makeover transformations, Jewels and Salchicha failed to light up the main stage with a look that seemed basic by comparison. With her excellent performance in the lip sync, we’re thrilled to see her hanging on for one more week — but when it comes down to it, she would likely need to win the next challenge in order to stay competitive for the crown.

What a week to be Lexi Love — not only was she the catalyst for one of the most heartwarming moments of trans representation that I can think of in recent television history, but she also looked truly fabulous while doing it. It became clear that she wouldn’t be in the bottom this episode as the judges offered their critiques — even if she and Mimi Lovely didn’t quite match, they were still close enough to earn a pass for this week. Lexi is still on the knife’s edge when it comes to that last finale slot, though — the numbers might not be in her favor, but the judges’ love for her could very well send her to the end.

Did Onya Nurve deserve to be in the bottom two this week? For sure: Her and Nunya Bidness’ family resemblance was lacking, the outfits were a little sloppy and the performance just wasn’t quite up to par. Was there ever any chance that she would go home this episode? Absolutely not. Track records are not everything, but four wins before her first visit to the bottom meant that Onya was the queen to beat in this competition. One slight misstep in the contest hasn’t really changed that fact, it’s just given the other girls a shot at those other finale positions.

Suzie Toot excels when she’s being underestimated, a fact that came very much in handy for her this week. Her decision to present herself and Queenie as escaped cartoon characters was a bold risk that her competitors continually called out. But it paid off — the look was spot-on, the resemblance was perfect, and Suzie proved exactly why the judges are continually impressed by her in this competition. Barring disaster in the final competitive episode, Suzie seems like a lock for the finale.

From storyline to performance to execution, Sam Star simply had everything going for her this last week. After her first visit to the bottom, the queen lit a fire and made sure that she and her mom were the cream of the crop this week. The outfits and makeup on Sam and Sassy were pitch-perfect, the delivery of an outfit reveal was excellent, and her mom’s entire performance on the runway was everything you would want for this challenge and more. There’s no doubt that Sam Star is making it to the final round of this competition, and this week, she proved it yet again.

Crime Mob’s Shocking Split: The Michael Jackson Lie That Ended It All

Crime Mob, the Atlanta-based rap group that brought crunk to the forefront, broke onto the scene in the early 2000s with their banger “Knuck If You Buck.”

Formed in 2002, the crew initially consisted of M.I.G., Cyco Black, Lil’ Jay, Killa C, and the fierce female duo, Princess and Diamond. Their raw, high-energy sound made them an instant staple in Southern hip-hop, dominating parties and the streets with tracks like “Rock Yo Hips” and “Stilettos (Pumps).” But even with all that heat, behind-the-scenes drama eventually caused their downfall.

In a recent podcast interview, Princess dropped a bombshell about the real reason behind Crime Mob’s breakup. Apparently, she once hit Diamond with a wild story, telling her that Michael Jackson had been spotted at Six Flags and was interested in hopping on a remix of “Knuck If You Buck.” At first, Diamond bought the story, but when she found out it was a total lie, she was livid. Feeling betrayed, Diamond made the decision to bounce from the group, and that was the beginning of the end for Crime Mob.

While fans had always speculated that creative differences or industry pressures were to blame, Princess’s confession caught everyone off guard. Though they’ve occasionally linked up for performances, Crime Mob never fully reclaimed their place in the rap game. Despite their brief time in the spotlight, their influence is undeniable, with their tracks still bumping in the clubs and inspiring a new generation of Southern rappers.

Crime Mob may be gone, but their legacy is far from over.

Will Smith Suggests Return to ‘Men in Black’ Franchise: ‘They Just Threw the Bag’

It looks like Will Smith is making a return to wearing a black suit.

The West Philly rapper and actor sat down with fellow Philadelphians Gillie & Wallo for their Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast and the subject of how he decides on which movies to take came up. He said that he wants to stop doing sequels, but sometimes the money is too hard to pass up and revealed he’s returning to the Men in Black franchise.

“I told myself I was done with sequels. I was like, ‘I’ve made enough sequels. I got some new things I want to make,’” he said. “Literally this morning, an hour before I came down here, they just threw the bag for another Men in Black. I was like, ‘Ah, I’m supposed to be going on tour this summer.’”

After they joked around that fans will have to be fine with hearing his music rather than seeing him perform his extensive catalog live, Smith suggested that he’ll shoot his scenes of the franchise’s fifth installment when he’s done with his tour.

Another highlight from their conversation that made its rounds on social media was a clip of the three of them rapping along to DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince‘s classic song “Brand New Funk.”

Madonna Celebrates Trans Day of Visibility Alongside Alex Consani: ‘Thank You to All For Showing Up’

With Monday (March 31) marking the annual International Transgender Day of Visibility, pop superstar Madonna took a moment to celebrate the community with a post to her social media.

Sharing a series of photos from a fundraising fashion show she attended over the weekend to her Instagram account — including a photo with trans model Alex Consani — Madonna thanked her fans for continuing to show up in support of queer and trans people’s rights in 2025, while also celebrating yet another milestone in her career.

“Happy Trans Visibility Day!! And Happy 40th anniversary of my first film- Desperately Seeking Susan,” the singer wrote in her caption. “We celebrated this weekend by attending a fashion show called, MOTHER -DAUGHTER-HOLY SPIRIT!! All money raised will go to the Trans Justice Funding Project! Thank you, to All for showing up.”

Consani, who made history as one of the first transgender models to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2024, shared Madonna’s post to her account while adding a message of her own to her Instagram Stories. “It’s important, now more than ever to remind ourselves how beautiful, powerful, and creative our community is,” she wrote. “We must lead with love and understanding, even when those around us don’t care to do the same. Listen to the trans people around you, give them love and let them know they are heard.”

Earlier this month, Madonna got candid in a post to her Instagram Stories about watching attacks against the trans community grow over the past few years. “It breaks my heart to witness the pain of Trans people who are not accepted by a society that fears them because they are different,” she wrote at the time. “The excitement people get from watching people go down or be silenced, be blacklisted … is disturbing. The enjoyment we get from other people’s pain is a sin.”

According to GLAAD, Transgender Day of Visibility was started back in 2010 when trans activist Rachel Crandall created the international holiday as a means of focusing on celebrating “the lives of transgender people” rather than simply focusing on violence and discrimination against the community. In 2025, the holiday has come into sharp focus in the U.S. as the current presidential administration continues to openly dismantle the rights and freedoms of trans people around the country.
