With the holidays coming up, it’s easy to forget that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Thankfully, Warner Bros. gave Magic Mike fans the perfect early gift on Wednesday (Nov. 16) with a new trailer for the third installment of the popular franchise.

In the two-and-a-half minute clip teasing Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Channing Tatum reprises his role as Mike Lane. After a lengthy hiatus, he meets a wealthy socialite played by Salma Hayek Pinault while working as a bartender in Florida. She’s blown away by his talent and gives him an offer to fly with her to London to start their own show. “With everything on the line, once Mike discovers what she truly has in mind, will he—and the roster of hot new dancers he’ll have to whip into shape—be able to pull it off?” the film’s description reads. The teaser is fittingly soundtracked by Donna Summer‘s 1978 track, “Last Dance.”

In the trailer, Hayek Pinaut’s character is heard encouraging Tatum’s Mike, saying, “People are alone, disconnected. We’re going to wake them up with a wave of passion they’ve never felt before.”

She adds, “I want every woman that walks into this theater to feel that a woman can have whatever she wants whenever she wants.” The original Magic Mike film was released back in 2012, and after significant commercial success, the Magic Mike XXL sequel was released in 2015.

The Steven Soderbergh-helmed film is set to hit theaters on Feb. 14, 2023. Watch the full trailer below.

As expected, former president Donald Trump announced another bid for the presidency on Tuesday (Nov. 15), and Bette Midler had more than a few reactions to the news.

Watching the one-term president give his speech at Mar-A-Lago, the actress didn’t exactly mince words while live-tweeting her thoughts, starting with, “Ugh. Piggy is speaking.”

“That’s #Trumpto you. He’s giving the same speech he gave in 2016. After a two year pandemic, and a million American lives lost, the rest of us have moved on. He is ossified. May he rot,” the Hocus Pocus 2 star continued, adding minutes later, “Excuse me. I’m going to be sick.”

After Trump finished his hour-long announcement, Midler gave her assessment of the remarks, writing, “He just handed us two more years of his #delusions and #drivel. #unbearable.” She also poked fun at the twice-impeached president’s new campaign slogan “Make America Glorious and Great Again,” tweeting, “IT’S OFFICIAL! The new name for its campaign is #MAGAGA! Congratulations to whoever got there first, let’s take it all the way!! #MAGAGA.”

Midler has long been an outspoken liberal and critic of Trump, but even she found herself in hot water this summer over making what some perceived as anti-trans comments on Twitter in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. At the time, the controversy ignited a discussion around the importance of using inclusive language, and the Tony winner insisted there was “no intention of anything exclusionary or transphobic” in her sentiments.

After Candace Cameron Bure’s latest interview, JoJo Siwa is calling out the Full House actress’ comments as nothing more than a straight flush.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday (Nov. 15), Siwa slammed Bure’s comments in a Wall Street Journal interview where the Fuller House star said she wouldn’t include LGBTQ couples in upcoming Christmas films on her conservative-leaning network, Great American Family. “Honestly, I can’t believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press,” Siwa wrote. “This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people.”

In her interview with the Journal, Bure spoke about her new executive role with Great American Media, in which she will produce and star in a series of Hallmark-style Christmas films. When asked in the interview about whether she would include LGBTQ characters in her work — as Hallmark did for the first time earlier this year — she said, “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.”

Siwa was not the only person to call Bure out on her exclusionary comments. GLAAD issued a statement from their president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis, in which she called out Bure’s intentional ignorance. “It’s irresponsible and hurtful for Candace Cameron Bure to use tradition as a guise for exclusion,” she wrote. “If GAF’s plan is to intentionally exclude stories about LGBTQ couples, then actors, advertisers, cable and streaming platforms, and production companies should take note and seriously consider whether they want to be associated with a network that holds exclusion as one of its values.”

Ellis also added that she was open to having a conversation with Bure on the topic. “I’d love to have a conversation with Bure about my wife, our kids, and our family’s traditions,” she said. “Bure is out of sync with a growing majority of people of faith, including LGBTQ people of faith, who know that LGBTQ couples and families are deserving of love and visibility.”

Siwa was also joined by actress Hilarie Burton, who called both Great American Family and Bure “disgusting” for their anti-LGBTQ comments. “Now they’re just openly admitting their bigotry,” she wrote. “I called this s–t out years ago when [CEO Bill] Abbott was at Hallmark. Glad they dumped him. Being LGBTQ isn’t a ‘trend’ … There is nothing untraditional about same-sex couples.”

This is far from the first time that Siwa and Bure have had words in public — earlier this year, the former Dance Moms star claimed that Bure was the “rudest” celebrity she’d ever met in a viral TikTok, with Bure later explaining that she had declined to take a photo with a then-11-year-old Siwa.

Check out Siwa’s Instagram post below.

And then there were 13.
Tuesday night’s (Nov. 15) episode of NBC’s The Voice was a nailbiter, a live elimination round which saw four contestants fight for a single spot.

During the show, Bryce Leatherwood (Team Blake) performed Billy Currington’s “Let Me Down Easy,” Sasha Hurtado (Team Legend) hit Sia’s “Elastic Heart,” Kevin Hawkins (Team Gwen) tackled Childish Gambino’s “Redbone,” and Kate Kalvach (Team Camila) covered Miley Cyrus’ “When I Look At You”.

There’s no second chance in this saloon.

After Monday night’s performances, America cast its vote, the tension ramped up. The four hopefuls stood, holding hands, waiting for their name to be called out. Only one could be picked as a wildcard entry.

The honors went to Leatherwood.

Earlier, the 22-year-old from singer from Woodstock, Georgia star beat duo The Dryes in a battle.

The country hopeful won-over Blake Shelton with his blind audition, during which he sang Conway Twitty’s “Goodbye Time”.

“Welcome to Team Blake,” Shelton said after that first performance. “Has there ever been a country-er name than ‘Leatherwood?’ You have excellent taste in music…I don’t feel too ego-y hitting my button for my own record…I was blown away. What a great country name. ‘Leather. Wood.’”

Leatherwood continues to blow Shelton — and many others — away.

“Bryce never disappoints. He always comes out here and gives a solid performance,” Shelton said after this last chance performance. “He’s got tons of fans out here. That’s why I wasn’t too stressed about putting him in this situation, because I really feel like you have as good a shot as anybody. Not just in the bottom four, but anybody in the competition, to pull yourself back out of this situation that you’re in right now. You sounded incredible, dude.”

The Top 13 contestants who advanced are Bodie (Team Blake), Brayden Lape (Team Blake), Parijita Bastola (Team Legend), Omar Jose Cardona (Team Legend), Kique (Team Gwen), Justin Aaron (Team Gwen), Morgan Myles (Team Camila), Devix (Team Camila), Rowan Grace (Team Blake), Kim Cruse (Team Legend), Alyssa Witrado (Team Gwen), Eric Who (Team Camila) and Leatherwood (Team Blake).

Marathon Films dropped the trailer for Hussle, a new docuseries exploring the life and legacy of Nipsey Hussle, on Tuesday (Nov. 15).
“Crenshaw-Slauson, in the Crenshaw District, well that’s where, really, the Nip Hussle story,” the rapper’s voice narrates over footage from his lifetime, later adding, “Faith is a required element on your marathon to success and on your marathon of life. It’s your footprint in the sand, your dent in the universe, the impact on the world around you. I want ’em to say that he wasn’t afraid to live. Chasing a dream.”

Elsewhere, the trailer also highlights Hussle growing up in the ’90s in L.A., the births of his two children, his first Grammy nominations and the ways he was determined to give back to his community as his career continued to take off.

“If me being from over here…or representing this area or being accessible to the area affects my career in a negative way, I’m just taking that one on the chin,” the late rapper says in one undated interview from the clip, ominously foreshadowing his murder in the parking lot of his South L.A. clothing store, Marathon Clothing, in March 2019.

While the trailer doesn’t tease a release date, Hussle is being financed by SpringHill, the media studio owned by LeBron James and Maverick Carter. “It’s an incredible honor for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey’s story and legacy with the world,” said the NBA great in a statement. “He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way. His words, his ambition, and his actions stick with me to this day as he continues to inspire myself, our company, and people everywhere.”

Last summer, Hussle was posthumously awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, just weeks after his killer was found guilty of first-degree murder as well as two additional counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter.

Watch the first teaser for Hussle below.

After months of debating who would score nominations at the 2023 Grammy Awards, we finally have our answers.
The Recording Academy unveiled the new slate of Grammy nominees on Tuesday (Nov. 15), with Beyoncé garnering a whopping nine nominations, followed by Kendrick Lamar with eight. Beyoncé also tied with her husband Jay-Z (who scored five nods of his own this year) for the most Grammy nominations by any artist, with 88 total throughout her career.

But Beyoncé was far from the only big winner with the 2023 noms — LGBTQ artists once again found themselves winning big, with nominations across each of the Big Four categories, and representation throughout genre categories including pop (Sam Smith & Kim Petras), rock (Brandi Carlile), R&B (Steve Lacy), country (The Brothers Osborne), alternative (Big Thief) and more.

To celebrate all these nominees, Billboard took a look at the 5 biggest wins for LGBTQ artists in the 2023 Grrammy nominations:

Steve Lacy’s big year continues

Between his first chart-topping single and a sold-out tour, Steve Lacy already had reason to celebrate 2022 as a massive year for his career. But now he gets to add even more on top of that — the alt-R&B star earned four Grammy nominations for his work this year, including record and song of the year for “Bad Habit.” It’s not his first time being recognized at the awards — the star received his first nod as part of the hip-hop collective The Internet for 2015’s Ego Death when he was just 17 years old, and later earned his first solo nomination for his debut album Apollo XXI, both for best urban contemporary album. Lacy returns in 2023 to the now-renamed category for best progressive R&B album with Gemini Rights.

Brandi Carlile returns to Americana as a Grammys staple

Over the course of the last decade, groundbreaking folk singer Brandi Carlile has established herself as a Grammys favorite, earning nominations every year since 2019. 2023 will certainly be no different — the singer-songwriter nabbed a stunning seven nominations, tying pop diva Adele for the third-most nominations of any artist this year, just behind Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar. Carlile grabbed two nominations in the Big Four categories (album of the year for In These Silent Days and record of the year for “You and Me on the Rock” featuring Lucius), as well as a pair of rock nominations (best rock performance for “Broken Horses” and best rock song for “You And Me On The Rock”). The star also returned to the categories of best Americana performance and song after she was excluded in 2022 when her song “Right on Time” was deemed a pop song by the Recording Academy — she went on to express her “disappointment” at not getting to represent her community in the genre.

Sam Smith and Kim Petras earn under-the-wire nods

Sam Smith and Kim Petras cut it close when they released their chart-topping collaboration “Unholy” on September 22; eligibility for the 2023 Grammy nominations closed just over one week later on September 30. Yet despite the tight deadline, the power of the pair’s sultry single could not be denied when nominations were announced on Tuesday — while Smith and Petras didn’t manage to earn any Big Four nods, they did get a look in best pop duo/group performance. This marks Petras’s first-ever Grammy nomination, and Smith’s first since he nearly swept the Big Four categories in 2015 with “Stay With Me” and In the Lonely Hour.

Anitta and Omar Apollo round out the Best New Artist roster

In recent years, the best new artist category has featured a bevy of up-and-coming queer artists — 2022 saw Arlo Parks and Japanese Breakfast earn nods, while 2021 featured acts like Phoebe Bridgers, Chika, Doja Cat and Kaytranada. It appears 2023 will be no exception — along with names like Latto, Wet Leg and Muni Long, out performers Anitta and Omar Apollo earn nominations for their breakthrough albums Versions of Me and Ivory, respectively. However, some LGBTQ music fans were surprised not to see Dove Cameron, Rina Sawayama or MUNA nominated in the category: Cameron, for example, earned her first Top 40 hit on the Hot 100 with “Boyfriend,” and even went on to win best new artist at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards — yet the singer was shut out of all categories at the Grammys this year.

Randy Rainbow goes up against comedy greats

Randy Rainbow may be best-known for his sharp-witted song parodies on YouTube — so it’s even more surprising that they weren’t what got the viral sensation his first Grammy nomination. A Little Brains, A Little Talent, the performer’s variety album released at the end of 2021, scooped a nomination for best comedy album. Rainbow’s covers of Broadway standards mixed with a few original and parody numbers of his own will face some stiff competition in comedy A-listers Jim Gaffigan, Patton Oswalt, Dave Chapelle and Louis CK.

Dancing With the Stars judge Len Goodman is saying goodbye to the ballroom competition series.

During Monday’s broadcast, Goodman announced that this season would mark his final as a judge.

“This will be my last season judging on Dancing with the Stars. I’ve been with the show since it started in 2005 and it has been a huge pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful show. But I’ve decided, I’d like to spend more time with my grandchildren and family back in Britain,” Goodman said. “I could not thank you enough the Dancing with the Stars family. It’s been such a wonderful experience for me.”

After Goodman’s announcement, the judge received a standing ovation.

“You’ve inspired generations of dancers around the entire globe through your passion and through your expertise and through your laser-focused eye and they are going to carry on that commitment of excellence forever. Thank you so much. A living legend,” host Tyra Banks said.

Goodman has been the lead celebrity judge on ABC’s ballroom competition since the show made its debut on ABC in 2005. He has been judging alongside fellow DWTS mainstays Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough later joined as a judge.

Prior to DWTS, Goodman was previously been a head judge on Strictly Come Dancing, the original U.K. version of Dancing with the Stars. He has also served as a judge at the World and British Championships.

Goodman has been recognized for his dancing achievements, winning multiple awards including the British Exhibition and the runner-up in the Exhibition World Championships. Other awards have included the British Rising Star Award, the Carl Allen Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Goodman also runs the Goodman Dance Academy, a long-running dance school in Kent, England.

When Parijita Bastola stepped onto the stage Monday night (Nov. 14) for NBC’s The Voice, the teenage hopeful leaned on Mother Monster.
For her appearance in the Top 16 Live Playoffs, the Severna Park, MD native went with Lady Gaga’s “I’ll Never Love Again,” a number many observers will see as a sign.

“I’ll Never Love Again” is, of course, a Grammy Award winner and the emotional cannonball that appears in the finale of A Star Is Born.

The aspiring Nepalese-American singer is just 17, but she delivered “I’ll Never Love Again” with all the power and emotion of a love-weary veteran.

The Team Legend contestant had all four coaches on their feet, and no doubt made new fans across the country.

“That was so emotionally beautiful and honest and it just pulled at everyone’s heartstrings,” Legend later enthused. “You set a spell on all of us and it was magical.”

Camila Cabello said what the rest of us were thinking. “You draw from such a well of emotion and you’re only 17,” she gushed. The performance was “masterful.”

Legend will be thankful for his quick thinking. Earlier in the competition, for her blind audition, she sang “Jealous” by Labrinth. Legend turned first and fast. Indeed, all four judges spun, but it was Legend who got the pick.

Before Bastola made her selection, she brought out presents for all of them: Rudraksha beads from Nepal, which she places around each of the panelists’ necks.

Then, in the Knockout Round, she knocked everyone out with her rendition of Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind.”

Going by the chatter online, Bastola could go far in this 22nds season of The Voice.
