Sean Paul is back at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart following a six-year break with the Feid team-up, “Niña Bonita,” which rises 4-1 to lead the Aug. 19-dated list.

It’s the second Spanglish collab that takes Sean Paul to No. 1 on Latin Airplay. The dancehall singer-songwriter crowned the overall Latin radio ranking for one week through his featured turn on Enrique Iglesias’s “Súbeme La Radio” in 2017. Feid, meanwhile, picks-up his fourth champ, three which have arrived in 2023.

“Niña Bonita” trades places with Bad Bunny’s “Where She Goes,” which dips 1-4 after its one-week lead, boosted by a 10% gain in audience impressions, to 9.5 million, registered in the U.S. during the Aug. 4-10 tracking week, according to Luminate. “Goes” falls to No. 4 with 8.1 million impressions, a 12% cut from the week prior.

Between his two chart-topping singles, “Contra La Pared,” with J Balvin, took Sean Paul to a No. 8 high in 2019, to become his third top 10 on Latin Airplay then. His first arrived in 2006 as the all English-language “Temperature” peaked at No. 10 in its sixth week.

Further, “Bonita” is the Jamaican’s second Spanglish partnership in 2023. He was recruited by Karol G for her single “Karmika,” also with Bad Gyal, which rose to No. 25 on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs in March. The track is one of 17 songs on Karol G’s No. 1 album Mañana Será Bonito.

As mentioned, “Bonita” gives Feid his fourth No. 1 on Latin Airplay among 10 career entries and five top 10s. It follows the four-week ruler “Yandel 150,” with Yandel (April-May). Prior, he crowned for one week through his featured role on Ozuna’s “Hey Mor” in March. The Colombian earned his first ruler with “Porfa,” with the all-star team comprising J Balvin, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Sech, and Justin Quiles, in 2020.

Elsewhere, “Bonita” rises 3-1 to capture its first week atop Latin Rhythm Airplay as the Greatest Gainer. It’s concurrently Sean Paul’s first hit since 2017 for a total of three No. 1s, while Feid secures his fifth champ there.

A week after Bad Bunny secured his 26th top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart with “Where She Goes,” the Puerto Rican adds a new chart success as the track captures the crown on the Aug. 12-dated ranking.
“Where She Goes” climbs from No. 2 on the overall Latin airplay tally with 9.22 million audience impressions, that’s a 2% gain from the week prior, earned in the week ending Aug. 3, according to Luminate.

With “Goes” Benito pick up his 22nd No. 1 and becomes the seventh artist overall with as many or more champs on Latin Airplay. Plus, he enters a tie with Maluma and Wisin for the fifth-most since the chart’s inception in 1994. Here’s the recap:

“Goes” takes the lead a month after “Un X100to,” with Grupo Frontera, capped its six-week reign (July 8-dated list). The track took over Latin Airplay in its third week, the fastest journey to the top spot among Bad Bunny’s 22 No. 1s.

Latin Airplay is one of nine charts where “Goes” has reached the top 10. In addition to topping Latin Airplay, it has hit No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, Latin Digital Song Sales, and Latin Rhythm Airplay; No. 2 on Hot Latin Songs; No. 3 on Global Excl. U.S., Streaming Songs, and Latin Streaming Songs; and No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Feid & Sean Paul Link Up with New Top 10: Elsewhere on Latin Airplay, Feid and Sean Paul combine forces for a new top 10 as “Niña Bonita” climbs 11-4.

The song takes the Greatest Gainer honors with a 36% gain in audience impressions, generating 8.6 million, during the same tracking period.

“Niña Bonita” is just the second collaboration with an artist who primarily records in a language other than Spanish to reach the top 10 on Latin Airplay in 2023, after Ozuna paired-up with Congolese French artist Gims on the three-week ruler “Arhbo (Music From The FIFA World Cup Quatar 2022)”, the track held in the top 10 for six weeks between late 2022-23.

After gaining six new top 10 showings across Billboard charts, including two No. 1s, with “Where She Goes,” Bad Bunny extends his winning streak as the song rises to No. 2 on the Latin Airplay chart (dated Aug. 5). It concurrently lands at No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay.
On Latin Airplay, “Where She Goes” surges 20-2 as the Greatest Gainer of the week with 9 million in audience impressions, that’s a 70% gain from the week prior. Bad Bunny unseats one of his own from the runner-up slot as “Un X100to,” with Grupo Frontera dips 2-6 with a 6% decline in audience impressions (to 8.2 million).

The song’s biggest supporters for the week includes SBS’s KXOL (Los Angeles), Univision’s WVIV (Chicago) and KQMR (Phoenix), and Grupo Radio Centro KAMA (Houston).

With “Where She Goes,” Benito banks his 26th top 10 on Latin Airplay, tying with Maluma for the seventh-most among Latin rhythm acts since the chart launched in 1994. Here’s the top 10 recap:

Further, the new Latin Airplay top 10 follows two chart commands: “Where She Goes” gifted Bad Bunny a third ruler on the Billboard Global 200 and his 14th champ on Latin Digital Song Sales, both on the June 3-dated rankings. On the latter, Benito extends his second-most record, trailing only Shakira’s 15 No. 1s.Plus, as mentioned, “She Goes” now dominates Latin Airplay in its 10th week. Alejandro Fernández collects his 10th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart as “No Es Que Me Quiera Ir” pushes 13-1 to lead the Aug. 5-dated survey. The song follows the two-week champ “Caballero,” his first career No. 1 this decade (Feb. 2020).
“No Es Que Me Quiera Ir” conquers Latin Airplay after it gained 9.1 million in audience impressions, a 50% rise from the week prior, earned in the U.S. during the July 21-27 tracking week, according to Luminate. The song’s main supporters include Univision stations, KSCA Los Angeles and WOJO Chicago, as monitored by Mediabase, which provides Luminate data for Billboard charts.)

The ranchera, released May 19 and written by Eden Muñoz, ejects Prince Royce’s “Me EnRD” from the lead after its one term at No. 1, as the bachata dips 1-5 with 17% drop in audience impressions, to 8.4 million.

Further, “Que Me Quiera Ir” earns Universal Music Latino/UMLE its second No. 1 in 2023, after the label dominated the chart with Karol G and Shakira’s “TQG” for two weeks between May and July.

As mentioned, with “Me Quiera Ir” capturing the crown on Latin Airplay, Fernández scores his 10th ruler, the second-most among regional Mexican acts, trailing Marco Antonio Solis who continues to lead with 11 champs on his Latin Airplay account. Plus, “Que Me Quiera” becomes his first win since “Cabaellero” in 2020. In between he’s placed five top 10s, for a total of 23 top 10s since “A Pesar de Todo” reached No. 10 high in Dec. 1994.

Notably, “Que Me Quiera Ir” marks a new milestone achievement for singer-songwriter Eden Muñoz, who captures his first No. 1 on Latin Airplay as a songwriter. Previously he scored a No. 2 high as a songwriter through Banda Carnaval’s “Esa Vez Soy Yo” (Jan. 2020).

Elsewhere, “Que Me Quiera Ir” advances 7-1 on Regional Mexican Airplay as the week’s Greatest Gainer. Fernández wins his sixth champ, the fifth-most among regional Mexican soloists.

Just nine weeks after Chayanne captured his first top 10 in over 14 years on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart, he is back in command – with his first No. 1 since 2008 – as “Bailando Bachata” rises 2-1 to rule the Aug. 5-dated list.

The song earns Greatest Gainer honors for the week fueled by an 18% increase in audience impressions, to 8.9 million, earned in the week ending July 27, according to Luminate.

“Honestly, I always do things because I feel them and since we started working on the album, bachata was considered,” Chayanne tells Billboard. “With the excessive amount of competition these days I wasn’t expecting it, but I am very grateful for this No. 1.”

“Bailando Bachata” is the third single from Chayanne’s forthcoming studio album (released date TBD). It follows two top 10 singles: “Te Amo y Punto” and “Como Tú y Yo” reached No. 6 and No. 7, respectively on Latin Pop Airplay in late 2022.

“Bachata” tops the list 14 years after Chayanne’s last leader, “Amor Inmortal,” dominated for five weeks in late 2008. The over 14-year window between new rulers is the longest gap by any artist since Dec. 2016, when Jennifer Lopez ended a 17-year wait between No. 1s when “Olvídame y Pega La Vuelta,” with Marc Anthony, topped the list. It was her first No. 1 since “No Me Ames,” also with Marc Anthony, in 1999.

As bachata proliferates on a global level, more artists are basking on its popularity. Notably, five of the six songs that have arrived at the summit on Tropical Airplay in 2023 belong to the genre. Here’s the recap:

About the genre’s craze, Chayanne feels differently: “I love both bachata as much as all tropical rhythms. All the songs on the new album are special, I always surround myself with professionals and I only record what I feel I like, that suits me and that the public may like, not necessarily because there is a trend.”

As “Bailando Bachata” takes charge of Tropical Airplay, it ejects Prince Royce’s “Me EnRD” from its four-week command with a 17% dip in audience, to 8.4 million.

Further, “Bailando Bachata” concurrently delivers extra goods for Chayanne with a 5-3 lift on the overall Latin Airplay list, matching his career-high for almost a decade, as “Humanos a Marte” landed and at an equal No. 3 high in Aug. 2014.

“In my case, inspirations go hand-in hand with rhythm and lyrics,” Chayanne adds. “I like songs that denote joy and invite to dance. This one most certainly will be included on my next tour; I want all to dance it with me.”

Fuerza Regida and Banda MS’ second team-up takes over Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart as “Mentira No Es” jumps from No. 6 to No. 1 to lead the July 29-dated list. Previously, Banda MS enlisted Fuerza Regida for “Santo Patrón,” which dips 16-39 after reaching No. 13 in June.
“Mentira No Es” rules with 7.5 million audience impressions earned in the week ending July 20, according to Luminate. That’s a 38% gain from the week prior, an increase that secures the track the week’s Greatest Gainer honor.

As the collaboration advances to the top, Banda collects its 19th No. 1, and first since “Hay Que Hacer Dinero,” featuring Eden Muñoz, led for a week in July 2022.

Fuerza Regida, meanwhile, captures its second Regional Mexican Airplay No. 1, following the three-week command of “Bebe Dame,” with Grupo Frontera, this March-April.

As “Mentira No Es” grants Banda MS its 19th ruler, the Mazatlán group breaks from a tie with both Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga and Intocable for the second-most No. 1s overall in the list’s history. Only Calibre 50, with 23 champs, claims more. Let’s look at the scoreboard.

Elsewhere, “Mentira No Es” vaults 18-6 for a new best on the overall Latin Airplay chart, also the week’s biggest gainer there. The song becomes Banda MS’ 24th top 10 and likewise first since “Hay Que Dinero,” which hit No. 6 last July. The new top 10 is Fuerza Regida’s second, after “Bebe Dame” led for a week in March.

“Los Del Espacio” by LIT Killah, Tiago Pzk, Maria Becerra, Duki, Emilia, Rusherking, Big One and FMK rules the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart (dated July 15) for a sixth week. With the new week at No. 1, the song breaks from a tie for the second-longest command in 2023, trailing only Emilia, Big One and Callejero Fino’s “En La Intimidad” which ruled for seven weeks this year.

Meanwhile, Becerra places two other tracks in the top 10, starting with “Corazón Vacío,” which holds at its No. 2 high for a third consecutive week, while “Adiós,” with Ráfaga, dips 5-6.

Myke Towers earns his seventh top 10 as “LaLa” rallies up the chart from No. 12 to No. 3. It’s the Puerto Rican’s highest ranking since “Pareja del Año,” with Sebastián Yatra, peaked at No. 2 in May 2021.

The week’s Hot Shot Debut goes to “Atorrante,” the collab by Argentinians Emanero, Ulises Bueno and Migrantes, at No. 34.

Elsewhere, Quevedo adds his 11th entry with “Columbia” at No. 35, while 15-year-old Milo J picks up his eighth entry as “Rincón,” produced by Big One, bows at No. 43.

Singer-songwriter BM takes the week’s Greatest Gainer as “Ni Una Ni Dos” surges 90-47. Plus, the Argentinian scores another entry through his featured role in Luck Ra’s “La Morocha”, at No. 64.

Lastly, two other songs debut this week: Peso Pluma and Grupo Frontera’s“Tulum” at No. 93 and DJ Tao and Karina’s “DJ Tao Turreo Sessions #18” at No. 100.

Rauw Alejandro’s Playa Saturno album blasts in at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart (dated July 22), his sixth straight top 10 which encompasses all of his charting efforts.
Playa Saturno, the Puerto Rican’s fourth-studio album, is the follow-up to his retro-futuristic No. 2-peaking Saturno, released in Nov. 2022; Saturno holds solidly on the tally at No. 15 in its 35th week.

Playa dropped via Duars/Sony Music Latin on July 7, the first day of the chart’s tracking week. According to Luminate, it launches with a little over 21,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. during its first week of activity ending July 13.

As with Rauw’s preceding three studio efforts, streaming fuels nearly all the set’s opening sum. The 21,000 streaming-equivalent album units equals to 27.5 million official on-demand clicks for the songs on the album, while the remaining balance is a negligible sum comprising album sales and track-equivalent album units.

Playa’s 27.5 million official on-demand streams improves on Rauw’s streaming performance as Saturno registered 25.6 million official streams in its first week. Among his chart entrances, including the No. 6-peaking Track Cake, Vol. 2 EP, the two-week album champ Vice Versa, continues to lead with 29.1 million U.S. clicks during its debut week (July 2021).

As mentioned, Rauw collects his sixth straight top 10 album, dating back to his maiden visit, Concierto Virtual En Tiempos de Covid-19, which reached No. 10 in Sept. 2020.

Further, Rauw’s four studio albums simultaneously rank in the top 30 on Top Latin Albums (Playa at No. 4, Saturno at No. 15, Vice Versa at No. 19, and Afrodisiáco at No. 29), the second-most among Latin rhythm artists after Bad Bunny, who’s placed as many as six top 30 albums throughout different chart weeks.

Playa’s entrance extends to the airplay, digital sales, and streaming data-fused Hot Latin Songs chart, where three songs from the album debut: “Picardía,” with Junior H, at No. 42; “Cuando Baje El Sol” at No. 45; and “Al Callao’” at No. 48. Plus, the album was preceded by one track: “Baby Hello,” with Bizarrap, which rises to its No. 32 high on the current tally.

Beyond its top five launch on Top Latin Albums, Playa Saturno also makes its way to two other albums charts: a No. 3 bow on Latin Rhythm Albums, and No. 29 start on the all-genres Billboard 200.

The all-star team comprising LIT Killah, Tiago Pzk, Maria Becerra, Duki, Emilia, Rusherking, Big One and FMK rule the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart as “Los Del Espacio” holds steady for a third week on the June 24-dated ranking.

BM’s “M. A. (Mejores Amigos)” with Callejero Fino, La Joaqui and Lola Indigo holds at No. 3 for a third week, while Maria Becerra and Ráfaga’s “Adiós” rebounds to its No. 4 high. Plus, YNG Lvcas and Peso Pluma’s “La Bebe” advances 6-5.

The Hot Shot Debut of the week goes to Bizarrap and Rauw Alejandro’s “Rauw Alejandro: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 56” at No 54. Meanwhile, Ke Personajes’ “Adios Amor / Oye Mujer” takes home the Greatest Gainer trophy with an 83-70 surge.

Elsewhere, Yandel, Feid and Daddy Yankee each add a career chart entry as “Yankee 150” bows at No. 75.
