Rihanna Jokes About the Size of Her Luggage Ahead of Private Wedding Party Performance in India

Go big or go home — Rihanna has landed in India ahead of the nuptials of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, whose pre-wedding party she’s set to perform at. Joining the pop superstar are her many large pieces of luggage — something she hilariously joked about with fans on Instagram Thursday (Feb. 29).

Recent snaps captured the Fenty mogul arriving in Jamnagar in time for the Friday (March 1) event, where she’ll reportedly perform a medley of her biggest hits for the soon-to-be newlyweds. Ambani is the youngest son of multi-billionaire Mukesh Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries.

One video taken on the day of her arrival shows a parade of platforms being dragged behind a transport vehicle, each carrying huge boxes covered by tarps. After a fan on Instagram posted the clip, one commenter quipped, “What she bring with her? A folding house?”

To fans’ surprise, Rih saw the comment and responded with a joke of her own. “the stage couldn’t fit in my carryon,” she explained, adding a shrugging emoji.

Anant and his fiancée will officially tie the knot July 12 in Mumbai, according to People. Their pre-wedding party will reportedly be attended by Disney CEO Bob Iger, Ivanka Trump, Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, members of Bhutan’s royal family and more of the world’s most powerful elites, each of whom will have the rare opportunity to watch Rihanna perform at the lavish event.

The Ambani dynasty is well-known for throwing extravagant weddings. When Mukesh’s daughter Isha got married in 2018, for instance, Beyoncé performed at the ceremony, and when the business titan’s oldest son Akash tied the knot in 2019, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and the Chainsmokers took the stage at the pre-wedding festivities in Switzerland.

Easy Mo Bee Alleges He Was “Blackballed” For Checking Diddy Over Production Credit

Easy Mo Bee has levied a claim that he was “blackballed” in the music industry for confronting Diddy over producing credits.

Veteran producer Easy Mo Bee claims that for some time he had been shunned in the music industry since confronting Diddy over the production credits for one of Bad Boy Records’ greatest hits. He shared the story during his time as a guest on The Sample Lounge when he talked about working on the remix to Craig Mack’s 1994 iconic track “Flava in Ya Ear.” Easy Mo Bee had produced the original while working extensively with Bad Boy in the early 1990s, beginning with producing “Party and Bulls—t”, the first single for The Notorious B.I.G.

“I remember we were gonna do the remix [of ‘Flava in Ya Ear’],” the producer recalled. “He had the idea to throw LL[Cool J], Busta [Rhymes], Rampage on there. Dope! When I saw the record and it said, in this particular order: ‘Remixed by Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs, Chucky Thompson and Easy Mo Bee,’ I bugged out. I kinda flipped out.” Easy Mo Bee continued: “I was like, ‘Wait a minute, you didn’t do anything on the record! And Chucky Thompson, he kinda sat there and watched me do the remix in Sound on Sound Studios … Because I didn’t go along with the management thing, now my credit is getting taken?”

The Grammy Award winner then spoke about how he confronted the mogul over the situation. “I went up there with my manager and spoke to him about it,” he stated. “I told him, ‘Yo, do me a favor, man. Don’t do that again. I don’t like that.’ From that point on, I think that’s when the relationship changed over there,” Mo Bee said. “My relationships, period, started to change. I noticed that certain people wouldn’t deal with me. I’d heard about blackballing.” It left Easy Mo Bee stunned.

But looking back, the producer maintains that he felt he handled the situation correctly. “I’m a man. I’m a certain kind of man. This man, up to that point in my career, I didn’t have any problems with like that,” he said. “I would do the same today. I’m a man of principle. If blackballing is what they call it, then so be it,” Mo Bee said.

The claim comes as Diddy is in a whirlwind of accusations about his behavior, recently being hit with a lawsuit by a producer claiming he sexually abused him.

The high-stakes sneaker robberies doesn’t seem to be slowing up as authorities continue to announce new busts on damn near a monthly basis.

This time around, police in Memphis (where Nike’s warehouse is based) busted nine people in connection with the robbery of a boxcar, where looters made off with $50,000 worth of Nike sneakers earlier this month. According to WKRN News 2, a “concerned citizen” tipped off police to what they said seemed like a gang of stolen Nike sneakers being stashed at a Frayser home in the 1400 block of Todds Creek Cove.

When police began surveilling the house in question, they observed a few men loading boxes of Nike sneakers into a Dodge Durango that was parked in front of the property. That was all the evidence they needed to move forward with the bust and put the cuffs on the nine-person operation.

WKRN News 2 reports:

Approximately 35 cases of Nike shoes were found inside the Dodge Durango, three boxes were found inside a Dodge Grand Caravan, and 30 cases were discovered inside the house, based on the reports.

Police confirmed the Nike shoes were stolen overnight from the CSX rail yard located in the 1400 block of North Holmes Street. The total value of the shoes was determined to be approximately $50,000.

Nine individuals were arrested but as of now, only the following five have been identified:

    • Tracy Fleming (46)
    • Rah’heem Tuggle (25)
    • Darren Stewart (28)
    • Troy Gaines (31)
    • Tray’Vion Smith (25)

Though police didn’t say which sneakers were amongst the stolen property (inquiring sneaker minds always wanna know), with the March lineup that Nike and Jordan Brand have coming up, it was more than likely a bunch of bricks that made those boxes that much heavier to carry. Just sayin’.

The five men identified were hit with burglary of a vehicle and theft of property worth $10,000 to $60,000 for their transgression.

One of the most revered Rap talents is bringing his talents back to fashion. André 3000 is launching his own brand workwear line.

As per High Snobiety, the Atlanta, Georgia, native continues to evolve with his art and style. Since the release of his instrumental flute album, New Blue Sun, in November 2023, the esteemed MC has been synonymous with apparel that would be suitable for garden work. This seems to be intentional as this week, the website revealed that he has a workwear brand in the works.

Writer Tayler Willson claims the “So Fresh, So Clean” rapper is working with a “currently-unnamed Dutch label” to bring the vision to life. Additionally, the journalist speculates the project is being curated in partnership with Bonne Reijn, founder of BONNE. The Amsterdam tailor is known for his bold but approachable twist to suiting and outerwear.

In his cover story for High Snobiety, 3 Stacks detailed his love for overalls; which have a mainstay in his wardrobe since ATLiens. “Whenever I’m on the street, at least for a month, whenever I see someone with overalls on, they’re going to get a free pair,” André says. “Because I know they’re overall lovers. It takes a certain person to wear overalls. They’re like grown-people baby clothes. They feel very comfortable — that’s why I love them.”

Currently, André 3000 is on tour for New Blue Sun until March.

Sometimes there’s nothing better than when a man and his woman work together on a professional project of some sort and it seems like A$AP Rocky and Rihanna have gone that route as they’ve just released a short film for Riri’s Fenty Lux Balm line.

Dubbed Born to Steal: Yours, Mine, Ours, the black-and-white clip features the two lovebirds in a swanky atmosphere in which Rihanna goes through A$AP’s wardrobe looking for some spiffy duds to “steal.” Stepping out the house in A$AP’s stolen blazer to flashing lights we assume are from the paparazzi, Rocky looks on from the second floor window as he throws on some lip balm that’s surely from his “Blazer Bandit” baby mama’s Fenty Lux line.

We can’t even front, this was cute, heartwarming and seductive all at the same time. Props to these two for collaborating on this little intimate promotional clip. While we love it y’all know Drake somewhere salty as hell about it. Maybe Rihanna should send Drizzy some of her lip balm cause y’all know too much salt will make your lips dry as hell. Just sayin.’

Kanye West’s ‘Vultures 1’ Listening Parties Grossed Over $12M

Kanye West’s short but lucrative five-show run of listening parties for his Vultures 1 album with Ty Dolla $ign generated more than $12 million in ticket sales, Billboard estimates based on available data.

West’s first two listening events in the United States — Feb. 8 at United Center in Chicago and Feb. 9 at UBS Arena in New York — each generated approximately $2.4 million in ticket sales. While sales figures for the three listening party events in Europe — Feb. 22 at Milan Arena; Feb. 24 at Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy; and Feb. 25 at Accor Arena in Paris — were unavailable, tickets were priced similarly to the U.S. shows, selling for between $140 to $220. All shows are believed to have sold out.

Sources tell Billboard that the U.S. shows were produced by Jam Concerts out of Chicago and that West originally requested a unique setup: Instead of appearing on a stage, he and Ty Dolla $ign wanted to appear at the listening party atop a massive pile of sand.

Trending on Billboard

According to one source who viewed the technical rider for the show, West wanted crews to drop a five-foot-high, 35×35-foot pile of sand in the center of the arena to serve as the stage. When it was pointed out that sand would not be able to safely hold the stage’s speaker monitors in place, the plan was scrapped. At the United States shows, Jam crew members instead built a more traditional center stage with ramps on four sides that West, Ty Dolla $ign and other guests could use to enter and exit.

A source close to both U.S. shows said the timeline for the gigs was rushed: Both the Chicago and New York events were held just 72 hours after being announced.

Billboard reached out to Jam Productions and West’s booking agent, Cara Lewis, for comment but did not receive a response by press time.

The 30 Best Birthday Songs

Gathering friends and family around a candlelit cake to sing “Happy Birthday to You” has been a birthday tradition in English-speaking households for over a century. In 1998, the Guinness Book of World Records even named it the most recognized song in the English language, more than a century after it was first written by sisters Mildred and Patty Smith Hill for the 1893 book titled Song Stories for the Kindergarten.

Whether you love it or hate it, it’s safe to say the tune and its many extended versions and comedic renditions aren’t going anywhere… but it doesn’t have to be the only song that defines your big day. Artists from Lesley Gore in the ‘60s to Stevie Wonder in the ‘80s to Katy Perry in the 21st century have all completely reinvented the long-established birthday singing tradition, with new and inventive melodies of their own.

It’s definitely a good thing that there’s such an abundance of birthday-themed music, because let’s face it — birthdays can be complex. Along with all the cake, candles, streamers and presents come bittersweet, complicated feelings about turning one year older, from nostalgia for birthdays past to unbridled terror for the future, grief for one’s youth, confusion over what to do next and total happiness at the chance to live life to the fullest for another trip around the sun. The musicians on this list were able to capture all of those hyper-specific but universally felt emotions, and then some.

From classic tracks that will make you want to “party like it’s your birthday,” even when it’s not (a la 50 Cent), to deep cuts that have you questioning your own mortality (we’re looking at you, Sufjan Stevens’ “Happy Birthday”), check out Billboard’s ranking of the 30 best birthday songs below.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s ‘Solo’ Music Video Reaches 1 Billion YouTube Views

Jennie’s first solo single outside of BLACKPINK, fittingly titled “Solo,” has officially hit one billion YouTube views.

Within five hours of its release on YouTube back in 2018, the video had surpassed four million views. “This is not a touching love story/ No romance, no sincerity/ I’m sorry, but I’m not sorry/ From today on I’m a shining solo,” she sings on the dance-ready track.

As the title suggests, “Solo” is Jennie’s first solo single outside of BLACKPINK. “There was definitely some pressure when I was starting because I was representing myself and also BLACKPINK for the very first time,” she told Billboard in 2018 of the track, which she said is about “being true to yourself and being confident. I hope that listeners can embrace the message and enjoy the song as much as I did.”

She also shared what she likes to do in her alone time, noting, “I like to just stay at home with my family, I eat something nice,” she says. “Strawberry are in season in Korea, [so] they’re my go-to everyday. Just relax, just rest from everything.”

Upon its release, “Solo” topped Billboard‘s World Digital Song Sales chart. The star became the second solo female K-pop act, and first as the lead artist, to top the chart after CL.
