In this episode of How It Went Down, Dua Lipa talks about an illusion she faced during the talking stage of a relationship, how it led to the creation of her new track “Illusion” and the Spanish twist in her music video. Dua Lipa:Hey, this is Dua Lipa, and this is How It Went Down […]

Famed choreographer Richy Jackson shares his favorite moments of working with Lady Gaga on some of her most iconic music videos such as “Bad Romance,” “Telephone,” “Stupid Love,” and how they prepared for her Super Bowl performance; what working with JoJo Siwa was like for her song “Karma” and how he helped her matured into this new era; “Rain on Me” being used in Fortnite and what makes the collaboration with Fortnite one of a kind. He also teaches our host Tetris Kelly some of his famous choreography and more!

Tetris Kelly:Hey, it’s Tetris with Billboard News, hanging out with choreographer extraordinaire Richy Jackson. What’s up, man?

Richy Jackson:How’s it going?

Tetris Kelly:It is going well. I’m so happy to get into this dance conversation with you and maybe dance a little bit as well.

Richy Jackson:Yes, we got to do that, Tetris.

Tetris Kelly:Let’s talk about Fortnite, Lady Gaga, this whole experience. Talk to me as if I’m an idiot. What is Fortnite and how do we incorporate Lady Gaga into this game?

Richy Jackson:OK, so truth be told, this is my first time ever experiencing Fortnite.

Obviously, I’ve heard about Fortnite — it’s been a thing. I just never played it. My assistant, Ian, was literally laughing when this whole, like, experience happened because he said, “You don’t know what you’ve done. Like, you don’t even know what you’ve done right now.” And I was like, “I don’t,” so I was like, “I have to least play the game.”

So I played the game and it was interesting just, like, to see the skins of Lady Gaga and understand, like, the wrap — which are the weapons — and then I was like, “OK, when’s the dance happening?” So I’m watching the dance happen I’m like, “OK, yeah, this is it.” But Ian tells me, “Well, just letting you know that when you dance, you can’t dance safely because you can still get shot.”

After decades of dropping R&B hits but never really getting his flowers, Keith Sweat is looking to remind everyone that he’s still capable of making that OG baby making music in 2024 and in his latest offering he brings back that smooth 90’s style that led to many a Plan B’s being used.

In his latest visuals to “Lay You Down” the OG R&B crooner returns as sleek as ever and sits on an all-black leather throne while a gang of young women groove to his sounds and seduce the camera without having to twerk a single cheek. We miss this old school style of love making music. Just sayin.’

On the rap side, another OG is out to show and prove he’s still got it and in the visuals to “Covered In Ice,” Paul Wall links up with That Mexican OT to drop some impressive bars while flossing some equally impressive diamond pieces. Paul Wall still that dude, man.

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten any new solo work from one Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. a.k.a Lil Wayne and though it doesn’t seem like that’ll be happening anytime soon, at least Tunechi is blessing everyone with guest verses on other artists records.

Such is the case for Yung Bleu’s visuals to “Confirmation Remix” in which Bleu showers a beautiful young woman with love and attention from the bar to his bedroom before Weezy kicks his verse while flossing two fistful of icey rings like he done took home a few championships in his sport.

Speaking of dope features, Royce Da 5’9” blesses Nasaan with guest verse of his own and in the clip for “Goated,” Nine Nickel and Nasaan give everyone a lesson in how to drop bars while working an everyday 9 to 5.

Narrator: Will Metro Boomin earn another No. 1 album? In anticipation of Metro Boomin and Future’s second collaboration project We Still Don’t Trust You, let’s look back at Metro’s Billboard chart achievements.

This is Billboard Explains: Metro Boomin’s Journey on the Charts.

In the past decade, Metro has become one of the hottest producers and songwriters in hip-hop. His Hot 100 breakthrough as a producer came with Future’s “Honest,” which hit No. 55 in 2013. Over the next three years, he produced 23 more Hot 100 hits. He earned his first No. 1 on the Hot 100 for his work on Migos and Lil Uzi Vert’s collab “Bad and Boujee,” which topped the chart for three weeks in 2017.

Metro has produced 16 top 10 hits on the Hot 100, including The Weeknd’s “Heartless,” which ruled for one week in 2019, and his collab with Future and Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That,” which currently holds the No. 1 spot.

Metro is no stranger to collaborations. The Billboard chart topper worked with some of rap’s biggest artists for some huge albums. In fact, he has seven top 10s on the Billboard 200, including Double or Nothing with Big Sean, which peaked at No. 6 in 2017, Savage Mode II with 21 Savage that reached No. 1 in 2020, and his Heroes and Villains, which topped the chart in 2022. Fun fact: Heroes and Villains went on to claim 18 weeks at No. 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart, the third most of any album in the chart’s history.

2024 is already starting off strong for Metro. His album with Future, We Don’t Trust You, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and 17 of its songs hit the Hot 100, including “Like That” with Future and Kendrick, earning Metro his first No. 1 as an artist.

Can We Still Don’t Trust You become Metro’s fifth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200? We can’t wait to find out!Watch the full video above!
