Joe Budden and Adam22 may occupy the same space these days as popular online broadcasters but only one of these men has a history as an elite lyricist. That face didn’t stop Adam22 from taking shots at Joe Budden in a recent cipher session, but the self-proclaimed “Podzilla” responded as only he could.
Adam22, the host of the No Jumper podcast and YouTube show, shared clips of a cipher featuring all the hosts from his network with an emphasis on his bar work. Although we’ve never heard the host — real name Adam Grandmaison — rap before, he at least remained on beat and sounded as comfortable as he could considering his displayed skill level.
In the actual track, Adam22 doesn’t waste any time in going at Budden, who has since long retired from rapping to focus on his podcast empire. The pair have also crossed paths and in one of their chats, things got tense when Budden pressed the fledgling MC about his past dating history.
“‘Pump It Up’ the last time I heard Joe rap/That old ass throwback finally got his gold plaque,” Adam said over the trap-styled beat, referring to a moment when Budden received an RIAA-certified gold plaque to commemorate the classic single officially selling over 500,000 copies.
In response, the Podfather, another self-coined nickname, took to X, formerly Twitter, and didn’t pay the jabs too much attention, writing “LOL” in a quote reply on the social media network.
Adam aside, it’s tough out here for a lot of folks… do everything you can.
— Joe Budden (@JoeBudden) September 5, 2024
He then followed that reply with, “Adam aside, it’s tough out here for a lot of folks… do everything you can.”
One could imagine that this will get traction on both Adam22’s No Jumper podcast and The Joe Budden Podcast over the weekend.

Knowa De Baraso found himself going viral after a star showing at this year’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago, and it sparked a job offer right on the spot. Roland S. Martin, impressed with the young yet impressive political pundit, offered Knowa De Baraso a show on his network.
Knowa De Baraso, 12, emerged as a bright star amongst the big names at the Democratic National Convention, gamely taking on Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, and challenging the businessman about his support of election fraud in the last election despite it being unfounded. The video of the exchange went viral, and landed the home-schooled commentator on the national stage.
Variety reports that after meeting with Roland S. Martin, the veteran broadcaster was so impressed with De Baraso that he offered him an opportunity to host a show on Martin’s Black Star Network.
From Variety:
“It’s not just his knowledge of the issues. It’s his energy,” Martin told Variety. In De Baraso, he sees a kindred spirit. Martin set his sights on a career in media and journalism as a 13-year-old when he first stepped into a communications-focused magnet program at Houston’s Jack Yates High School in the 1980s.
“It’s all about the desire and the urgency of the individual,” Martin said. “This kid’s got it. You have to nurture that and develop that. Those of us in African American media have to leverage our platform to create opportunities for the next generation.”
Another moment showcasing De Baraso’s political brilliance was an interview with Mark Austin of Sky News. De Baraso schooled his older counterpart on how people of his generation are accessing news regarding politics and how Vice President Kamala Harris is reaching the youth where it counts. That video can be viewed below.

Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz sat down with CNN on Thursday (August 30) for the first major interview featuring the pair as they continue to hit the campaign trail. Vice President Kamala Harris was asked about Donald Trump’s recent attacks regarding her race, and she smoothly sidestepped the jabs before moving on.
Much has been made of Vice President Kamala Harris and her swift rise to the top of the Democratic Party ticket after President Joe Biden elected not to run for reelection Some pundits and observers felt that Harris and Walz alike have not put themselves in the view of journalists that will dig into their politics and campaign talking points.
CNN anchor Dana Bash lobbed questions that seemed tailored by Harris and Walz’s Republican Party opponents and critics, but they both gamely answered the questions without following any script or histrionics. Bash then asked Harris about Trump’s attacks regarding her race that he raised during this year’s NABJ conference when he said Harris “happened to turn Black” but the vice president didn’t take the bait.
Bash asked her about Trump’s statement but was met with a succinct reply as she elected not to answer the question or validate Trump’s ignorance any further.
“Same old tired playbook. Next question, please,” Harris said with a laugh. Bash pushed back by asking if that’s all she’d offer and the vice president left it there.
The Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz interview can be viewed on-demand via CNN and the network’s streaming platforms.

Troy Ave and his legal ordeals took center stage after turning himself in earlier this year to serve time for his role in the 2016 Irving Plaza shooting incident that left his bodyguard dead in connection to a feud with Taxstone. Floyd Mayweather doesn’t have anything else to prove as a boxer but that hasn’t stopped him from cashing in on lucrative exhibition bouts against fighters less heralded than him. While it would be assumed that Floyd Mayweather would prefer to let his hands do the talking, he recently opted to fire a referee during a recent match against John Gotti III over a missed call.
Last Saturday (August 24) in Mexico City, Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III faced each other in a rematch of their 2023 fight that ended in a disqualification decision due to excessive holding from Gotti and trash talk. For this most recent bout, it was another non-scoring fight that took place at the Mexico City Arena.
As reported by TMZ Sports, Hector Afu, who was the referee boxing match, called out Mayweather for what was assumed to be an illegal “rabbit punch” to the back of the ear. Mayweather protested the call, moving Afu out of the way. Afu attempted to keep order in the ring but was eventually given the boot.
The fight went on and fans online said that the action inside the ring was less intense than the argument between Mayweather and Afu. However, it was largely assumed that although there wasn’t a judge’s scorecard, Floyd Mayweather dominated John Gotti III in the ring.

Dr. Umar Johnson is known for his strong opinions and ability to both enlighten and infuriate those who choose to debate with him. In a recent appearance on a popular podcast, Dr. Umar Johnson shared his thoughts on Hip-Hop and how he feels the music and culture have not helped the wider Black community.
Dr. Umar Johnson was a guest on the Hustle Over Everything with host Alex Whitfield, and the pair got into a spirited conversation regarding Hip-Hop that has since gone viral. In the chat, Johnson asserts that Hip-Hop music has “betrayed Black America” after fellow guest Mouse Jones locked horns with the famed Pan-African psychologist and educator.
Jones asked Johnson if he felt that Hip-Hop as a culture or the industry where it thrives was what sparked his harsh critiques. Johnson stated that the culture and industry are both responsible for what he framed as a betrayal.
“You’re still selling death and destruction to my kids while your kids are going to $30,000 a year privileged white schools; that’s what you call a traitor,” Johnson said. “The hip-hop community has betrayed Black America.”
Despite Hip-Hop’s half-century existence, Johnson doesn’t see that the music or culture has added true value to Black culture overall.
“You’ve been around for 50 years, the most popular music genre in the world, billions and billions of dollars, and all you can tell me about is a few people can get jobs,” Johnson shared. “That’s bullsh*t when you look at the cost that the black community has had to pay for Hip-Hop. A whole two or three generations of black kids growing up thinking the best thing you can do is be a gangster.”
With the clip of Dr. Umar Johnson and Mouse Jones debating the finer points of Hip-Hop going viral, fans on X, formerly Twitter, offered their thoughts on the debate and even posted some examples to counter Johnson’s arguments. We’ve got those reactions below, along with the episode of Hustle Over Everything mentioned above.
