Fans of Roc-A-Fella Records should be familiar with the name Oschino, who spent time on the label as part of the State Property collective. Via a new interview, Oschino shared that he felt Jay-Z betrayed Beanie Sigel during a tough time for the Philadelphia star.
Oschino sat down with the SAY CHEESE! YouTube show to discuss his rise as a rapper, signing with Roc-A-Fella, auditioning for Jay-Z, and more. During the portion when he discussed his time under the Brooklyn mogul’s label, Oschino expressed disappointment in the honcho for not stepping up during Beanie Sigel’s attempted murder trial.

“I came to court for Beanie when he allegedly shot somebody,” Oschino Vasquez said. “JAY-Z got on the stand and they said, ‘Are you gonna be responsible for him if we let him go?’ Jay-Z said, ‘No.’ I was there. This ain’t hearsay; this was me in the courtroom.”
Vasquez went on to say that he was shocked that Jay-Z wouldn’t tell the court that he would step up and assist Beanie Sigel in his return to public life, stating that his time in jail raised him to view such matters differently.
He continued, “And nobody didn’t say nothing, nobody flinched. Mind you, I’m a jail n*gga so I’m looking around like, ‘Nobody not saying nothing?!’ Like it was normal.”

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is considered one of the savviest business minds in modern times as evidenced by his various holdings. 50 Cent recently visited Capitol Hill to discuss the lack of representation of Black-owned liquor companies in the adult beverage industry.
50 Cent was in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (June 5) as seen on his Instagram page. According to The Hill, Fif’s visit was a surprise to the members of Congress, which centered on the rapper and mogul angling to increase opportunities for prospective Black adult beverage entrepreneurs.
Flanked by attorney Ben Crump, 50, who owns Sire Spirits, wants to see Black adult beverage companies reaping some of the financial benefits of the lucrative industry.
“My experience here has been great,” 50 Cent said at a press conference following his chat with Congress. “I went to talk to them about economic opportunities for everybody, and it’s really exciting. The response I got makes me feel like that there’s bright days ahead of us.”
Sire Spirits produces Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi Champagne among other holdings, and the space is widening with several key figures such as Uncle Nearest’s Fawn Weaver and others putting their stamp down via their respective ventures.
At the conclusion of the chat, 50 took to Instagram and shared several photos alongside several politicians, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, Congresswoman Nekima Williams, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, and Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.
Some fans were taken aback by Fif flicking it up with Rep. Boebert and Speaker Johnson considering they’re both members of the Republican Party, and most especially Boebert who has held controversial conservative views.
For what it’s worth, Fif has heard the complaints and replied in his usual trolling fashion.

It appears that Fif was aware of the dissension in Congress after remarking in his presser that Democrats and Republicans hardly agree on anything but was glad they decided to speak with him about the issue.
While 50 Cent didn’t take a political position during his time on Capitol Hill, some fans online are saying he linked up with the opps and are somewhat dragging his name through the mud. We’re highlighting those comments from X, formerly Twitter, below.

Martin Lawrence is back in theaters alongside his Bad Boys co-star Will Smith, but a recent appearance of the actors had fans worried about the state of the comedian’s health. Martin Lawrence spoke about the moment in a recent interview and assured those concerned fans that he’s in optimal health.
Martin Lawrence and Will Smith were on the set for Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning as part of the press run for their newest film, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, which Smith and Lawrence both declared as the best of the four films to emerge from the franchise. Early on in the interview, host Ebro Darden mentioned the pair’s press stop in Mexico City and Los Angeles in where fans thought Lawrence didn’t look the best.

Martin Lawrence, taking the question about the fans’ concern for his health from Ebro, said, “I’m fine, I’m in God’s hands. I’m blessed. I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned.”
Other topics covered was Smith’s return to the scene after the Oscars incident and, of course, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Martin. Both men gave one another praise for being Black sitcom stars on television during a time where that wasn’t always a thing.
There was also a fun segment where Peter Rosenberg asked about The Fresh Prince of Bel Air‘s theme song and how Quincy Jones conceded to Smith’s suggestion after some early struggles.

Eminem is currently gearing up for his 12th studio release, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), and teased the “end” of his shock lyric persona of Slim Shady not long ago. On the new track “Houdini,” the Detroit wordsmith harkened back to his earlier days with a familiar bop but sparked criticism for making Megan Thee Stallion the butt of one of his jokes in rhyme form.
The track “Houdini, ” produced by Eminem and longtime collaborator Luis Resto, takes its sampling cues from the Steve Miller Band’s “Abracadabra” hit along with Slim’s tracks, “Without Me”, “My Name Is” and “Just Lose It.”
In one portion of the track’s first verse, Megan Thee Stallion has her name inserted with Em connecting her shooting incident using a layered simile as he’s known to do.
From “Houdini”:
And I don’t gotta play pretend, it’s you I make believeAnd you know I’m here to stay ’cause meIf I was to ever take a leave, It would be aspirin to break a feveIf I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with meWould I really have a shot at a feat? (Ha!)
It’s obvious where Em was going with the ending bar, referencing the Houston rapper’s foot injury after she was shot by Tory Lanez in 2020 after a star-studded party event. The line didn’t go missed by the Hotties and other observers who felt the swipe at the expense of a Black woman’s pain was over the top.
Eminem, in his Slim Shady persona, has never spared anyone’s personal business when it comes to his rhyme schemes and this time is no different. However, Megan Thee Stallion is one of the most beloved stars of her time so the reactions to the lyric came in hot.

There’s a tiny space under the staircase of Camilo’s Taller Creativo – his creative workshop — that Camilo calls Refugio de Indigo y Amaranto (Indigo and Amaranto’s Refuge), a kind of makeshift hiding place for his daughter Indigo, and soon-to-be-born Amaranto to play in.
But when Indigo isn’t around, Camilo crawls in there with his guitar, microphone, laptop and a little lamp, and he writes songs. So was born “Canción de amor para la pulga”, or “Love Song for the Flea,” the term of endearment for Evaluna, Camilo’s wife and muse.

“It’s one of the most important songs in the album,” says the Colombian star, referring to Cuatro, his album released late last month, which gathers four EPs released in quick succession in the past three months. Camilo, barefoot, has crouched to roll up the folding door of this little hideaway, one of dozens of unexpected and often wondrous nooks and crannies to explore in the Colombian star’s new creative workshop, simply called El Taller Creativo.

Located in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood behind an encircling garden and a small waterfall,  the vast hangar-like space has been tailored and arranged to serve many different purposes, all thoughtfully executed to the last detail with homey touches.

In May, Camilo took Billboard on an exclusive tour of the space, where he made us an amazing cortadito, and showed us around like only he can.

There’s the date in which Camilo received the keys to the workshop — Dec. 5, 2023 — carefully written in white chalk on an overhead wooden beam; flowing curtains painted blue and white, like the sky, the color scheme of most of his recent videos; the plexiglass walls behind the curtain, which allow for sound recording to take place here; a manual typewriter that serves as the workshop’s official record-keeper of visitors; a dining room table that works as meeting ground and  “operational center” for Camilo’s staff and producers; the studio that houses not only recording equipment, but dozens and dozens of instruments, each with a given name.

Camilo had long dreamt of having his own creative space. “Physical spaces affect creativity,” he says. “Everything intervenes … It’s not so much about having possession of a place, but having autonomy over my things. It’s different.”

Inside Taller Creativo, Camilo does what he wants, when he wants to. He can arrive early and leave late, take a nap on the hammock, work with his headphones while Indigo sleeps, film his videos and record his music. His parents, who live two blocks away, often stop by and bring the Colombian lunch.

As for the creative output? It’s flowing. In just six months since he first opened the door to El Taller, he released his four EPs — Un, Dos, Tres and Cuatro — the “first creative work to come out of the workshop,” he says. “I dreamt with that; with having from the very first spark of an idea to the last close of the master recording and the videos, all done here, by hand, in El Taller Creativo.”

Follow Camilo’s tour with us in the video above.

Jay-Z has kept a largely low profile on the music front but the Brooklyn superstar remains active on the scene in other ways lately. Over the weekend, Jay-Z was seen at London’s Wembley Stadium and linked up with Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr., who is signed to Hov’s sports agency.
Vinicius Jr., 23, is a Brazilian soccer forward for Real Madrid and his team locked horns with Borussia Dortmund for the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League final.

Ahead of the game, Jay-Z dapped up Vinicius Jr., who scored a goal in the match alongside Real Madrid right-back defender Dani Carvajal with the team defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 for the coveted title. Among the celebrations with his Real Madrid teammates, Vini, as he’s also known, took a moment to take some photos with Jay-Z before hoisting the trophy with his fellow players.

In the summer of 2023, Roc Nation Sports acquired Brazilian soccer agency TFM which counted Vinicius Jr. as a client along with other association football stars such as Gabriel Martinelli, who plays for Arsenal.
Congratulations are in order for Real Madrid for capturing the UEFA Champions League championship win.

Sean Paul’s Tiny Desk Concert dropped Friday (May 31) and it’s as good as you’d expect. The legendary reggae superstar took over the NPR offices and transformed them into a good old-fashioned bashment from the jump. Although there was no daggering or whining to be seen, Paul sounded just like he did when he made […]

Corey Harris, a Michigan man due in court virtually for a hearing, certainly didn’t do himself any favors earlier this month before the meeting with the judge. Mr. Harris, who has a suspended license, called into the hearing while driving which sparked the judge to react with disbelief.
Corey Harris, 44, was slated to speak to Washtenaw County Judge Cedric Simpson and called into the hearing via Zoom while driving a vehicle. As reported by Detroit outlet WXYZ, Harris was charged with driving with a suspended license in October 2023. Assistant Public Defender Natalie Pate introduced the case to the judge, and the Zoom call began with Harris simply driving along without any concern for the optics.

Harris caused Judge Simpson to become flabbergasted after he asked the judge for a moment to park his vehicle after he explained he was heading to his doctor’s office. After a moment, Judge Simpson couldn’t believe what he was witnessing.
“No, I’m looking at his record. He doesn’t have a license. He’s suspended and he’s just driving,” Simpson says, trying to maintain his composure. Simpson added, “I don’t even know why he would do that.”
Instead of proceeding with the hearing, Judge Simpson revoked Harris’ bond and ordered Harris to turn himself in by 6 PM that day. As the Detroit News added in its reporting, Harris was set to appear before the court in connection to his suspended license case.
Corey Harris is due back in court on June 5, hopefully taking Uber or getting a lift from a friend.

To many 80’s babies, he is Batman but to others Michael Keaton is Beetlejuice and now that he’s once again donned the cow and the cape in 2023’s The Flash, Keaton is now resurrecting his other iconic character which helped propel him to superstardom in 1988.

Weeks ago fans got a small taste of Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 when a teaser trailer for the upcoming film was released and now they’re getting a bigger sample of what they can expect from Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and newcomer to the series, Jenna Ortega conjure up the rambunctious ghost that endeared himself to millions back in the 80’s (the character even got himself an animated show on FOX).

In the new trailer to Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Ortega and Ryder find themselves back in the house where it all started in which Ortega defiantly conjures up the comedic demon after saying his name three times. Now that he’s once again been unleashed on the world of the living, Ryder, Ortega and everyone else involved must experience the weird world of the dead as they try to figure out how to get out of this latest pickle.
Should be fun.
Check out the new trailer to Beetlejuice Beetlejuice below and let us know if you’ll be checking for this when it hits theaters this coming September 6.

T.I. appeared on DJ Whoo Kid’s SiriusXM Whoo’s House Podcast and naturally pulled out the thesaurus.
