Candace Owenâs relationship with The Daily Wire is over, and now X users are connecting the dots and feel she is using Black Press to get back in our good graces.
Per the Daily Mail, edgeless conservative Candace Owens and The Daily Wire are done. Per the websiteâs reporting, her exit comes after clashing with the companyâs co-founder, Ben Shapiro, over the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Co-founder and CEO Jeremy Boreing announced the split with Owens in a post on X, formerly Twitter, simply writing, âDaily Wire and Candace Owens have ended their relationship.â
Owens confirmed her exit by responding, âThe rumors are trueâ I am finally free,â in a post on her X account that also hilariously points her followers to a webpage to âsupport her workâ or âgive her a gift.â
The grift never ends with these people.
X Users See The Jig With Candace Owens
Anyway, the news of Owenâs exit from The Daily Wire, which was the home of her now-defunct talk show Candace, Owens has been making her rounds on more traditional Black outlets in what many have been calling a ârebrand.â
Owens has sat down with Joe Budden for a one-on-one interview, much to the chagrin of social media who feel people like Budden lack the skills to sit across from a person like Candace Owens, who has the propensity to push narratives that require pushback and extreme amounts of fact-checking.
Just recently, The Breakfast Club, for whatever reason, brought Owens on their show to spew her nonsense, and yes, like Budden, many feel the Power 105.1 morning show crew lacks the interviewing skills to handle her.
Also, now there are many clips of Owens landing on timelines where people agree with her outrageous talking points.
We here at HipHopWired are not buying what Candace Owens is selling.
In the gallery below, you can see more reactions to Candace Owens trying to rebrand herself.
1. Not here, not ever.
2. Exactly, stay over there Candace
3. Way too much
4. HEard you sis

Candace Owens was trending on the X social media platform after making a statement aimed at the wife of the president of France. The controversial conservative pundit said that she would bet her career on the wife of President Emmanuel Macron being a man.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday (March 12), Candace Owens took shots at Brigette Macron, 70, the wife of President Macron, 46, who has been the target of a conspiracy that suggests Mrs. Macron is not a woman.
âAfter looking into this, I would stake my entire professional reputation on the fact that Brigitte Macron is in fact a man,â Owens shared on X. âAny journalist or publication that is trying to dismiss this plausibility is immediately identifiable as establishment. I have never seen anything like this in my life. The implications here are terrifying.â
As seen in Daily Mail, the claims around Mrs. Macron date back to 2021 when two women, a psychic and a freelance journalist, made the charge in a documentary. The outlet adds that the root of the rumor came from a false claim issued by Faits et Documents, a far-right publication just after President Macron was elected.
On Monday (March 11), Owens delved into the conspiracy at length on her podcast which was no doubt inspired by comments made by Tiphaine Auzière, the daughter of Mrs. Macron and President Macronâs stepdaughter.
Auzière spoke with the Paris Match outlet to discuss the claims that her mother was born male. Adding to this, Auzière shared that she was just 10 years old to learn that her mother was involved with a student who was 25 years her junior.
Owens added at the end of her Tuesday tweet that she doesnât intend to stop investigating the angle and called on other journalists to do the same.
On X, Candace Owens and her comments caused some commotion. Weâve got the reactions below.

âI never had dinner with the president!â â Ice Cube (âNo Vaselineâ)
OâShea Jacksonâs jab at Eric Wright on the scathing diss track aimed at his former N.W.A family carried significant weight in 1991. At the time, the president represented the power that was oppressive to the Hip-Hop community. A group like N.W.A didnât participate in a lunch benefiting the Republican Senatorial inner circle, which was hosted by then-President George H. W. Bush. And the idea that Eazy-E did just that painted him out to be a traitor to the community.Â

We fought the power for change in our community, we didnât fraternize with the power in an attempt to join their fraternity. And any individual in the Hip-Hop community who didnât adhere to these unwritten laws was subject to being publicly tarred and feathered. No questions asked.Â
Fast forward to 2024 and, as The Notorious B.I.G. once said âThings Done Changed.â
The power that we were up against in the 80s and 90s has changed shape over the years. Itâs a little more complicated to figure out who âThe Powerâ is now when the economics and landscape have been modified, altered and remodeled. In some ways it has changed for the better but, as they always sayâthe more things change, the more they stay the same.
âSharing our platforms and our audiences with individuals who have spent the majority of their careers in the spotlight disparaging the very communities we come from is a dangerous proposition.â

Candace Owens is making some eye-raising decisions, from meeting up with Joe Budden for an upcoming interview to defending BeyoncĂŠ.Candace Owens has long positioned herself at the forefront of Black conservatism in America, quite often criticizing the Black community in the process. And that hasnât gone unnoticed, with many Black people disparaging her for behavior that ultimately comforts the worst of white right-wingers and conservatives, such as promoting the fallacy that George Floyd wasnât killed by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. But as the United States is in another tense election year, Owens seems to be shifting her stance ever so slightly within the past few days with two moves â the first being a surprise meeting with media personality and rapper Joe Budden.
Owens shared a photo of her meetup with Budden, which reportedly took place in Nashville, Tennessee to her Instagram Stories. The caption simply read, âIt happened.â Budden had previously expressed admiration for Candace Owens, remarking on The Joe Budden Podcast that he doubted that she would ever call in to make an appearance. The author would respond on her own podcast last week, saying: âIâm going to take you up on your offer, publicly.â

The news of the interview and the photo spread like wildfire across the internet, with many expressing their displeasure over the situation. HOT97 radio host Peter Rosenberg made his position plain in a post on X, formerly Twitter, writing: âSo sick of the idea that conversations need to be had with bigots, trolls, and immoral a-holes âŚexchanging ideas among smart good people is useful ⌠hearing a hateful hack babble on about hate is not worth anyoneâs time.â
This follows a surprising position that Owens took in defending superstar singer BeyoncĂŠâs latest single, âTexas Hold âEmâ. from a slew of detractors believing itâs not truly a country song. âSome people are saying that this is not very country,â Owens said of BeyoncĂŠâs new song. âIâm going to defend BeyoncĂŠ on that point because BeyoncĂŠâs kind of always been country. Sheâs more country than Taylor Swift ever was for sure.â She continued: âBeyoncĂŠ is from Houston, Texas. Sheâs always had a twang⌠[Taylor Swift] put on a fake twang. Everyone was okay with it. You canât say that Taylor Swift can do it, and Beyonce canât.â

Conservative pundit Candace Owens is not a fan of Ice Spiceâs new single, saying it shows how far society has fallen.Â
Candace Owens has made a career out of declaring everything thatâs wrong with America in lockstep with her right-wing fan base. On Wednesday (January 31), she aimed the latest single from Ice Spice, entitled âThink U The S**t (Fart)â on her self-titled podcast. âIf youâre wondering whether or not itâs a good song, what do you think? Itâs called âThink U The S**t (Fart)â,â she says with a thinly veiled tone of disgust before playing a snippet of the track. It made its debut last week, going viral partly due to the line: âThink you the sh*t, b*tch? You not even the fart.â
[embedded content]
âNow I think we can all admit that weâve fallen as a society,â Owens continued after playing the clip. âI mean, I wouldnât say that was Mozart or Beethoven, but Iâm not all of these mainstream media publications that routinely run to defend this kind of music similar to what they did with âWAPâ the most disgusting and filthiest lyrics Iâve ever read. They will then sit down and write an article trying to convince you that what you just heard was magical and they did this with this Ice Spice song.â
Exasperated, the Daily Wire contributor concluded: âI just wanna live in a society where we can all acknowledge that a song thatâs entitled âThink U The Sh*t (Fart)â is in fact itself a sh*t fart. Thatâs where I wanna live. Can we get back to that? I donât know. Letâs move on.â
Ice Spiceâs newest track comes in advance of the 23-year-oldâs four nominations at next weekendâs Grammy Awards. These include the Best Rap Song award for her âBarbie Worldâ collaborative track with Nicki Minaj and Best New Artist. The Bronx native has also confirmed that her debut album is on the way in a recent interview on Today with Hoda & Jenna, saying: âIâm so excited. Itâs called Y2K. Itâs almost finished. So, Iâm really excited.â

As many celebrated Juneteenth across the nation, Candace Owens went on to trash the holidayâand received some serious backlash after her comments. On Monday (June 19th), numerous celebrations were being held across the United States to celebrate Juneteenth as it marks its second year of becoming a federal holiday. Owens, whoâs known for making a slew of incendiary remarks targeting Black people and other marginalized groups, went on Twitter and wrote: âJuneteenth is still ghetto and made up. Hope everyone enjoys it!â
She has railed against Juneteenth before on Twitter, having âdescribed it as âemotional programming for black people that choose to opt in to the perpetual victim mentality,â according to a report by Newsweek. âJuneteenth is soooo lame. Democrats really need to stop trying to repackage segregation. Iâll be celebrating July 4th and July 4th only. Iâm American,â she stated at the time. While there was the usual gaggle of right-wing advocates and online bigots who responded to her tweet applauding her appalling statement, the rude remarks didnât go unchallenged for long. Some took it upon themselves to educate Owens on the history of the day, sharing informative articles and links. Many decided to pull up and tell Owens all about herself in a wild and witty fashion, with a few of her followers actually siding with supporters of the holiday.
Hereâs a sampling of some of the more entertaining clap backs served up to Candace Owens online. Maybe next time she might reconsider putting her foot in her mouth about the significance of the day â but we doubt it.

Twitter user Kesendra B pretty much set the tone for the barrage of digital beatdowns coming Candaceâs way.

Kanye West
Owens credited the Yeezy mogul for designing âBlexitâ merch â a portmanteau for âBlackâ and âexitâ that mimics Britainâs exit from the European Union â for her movement she launched in late 2018 that encourages Black voters to leave the Democratic party and register as Republicans.
âBlexit is a renaissance, and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West,â Owens told Page Six at Turning Point USAâs Young Black Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 27, 2018 (Owens was Turning Point USA communications director at the time of the event).
But âYe cleared the air on Twitter a few days later when he denied helming the designs. âI introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didnât want their name on it so she used mine,â he wrote. âI never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.â
West later wrote the mishap exposed him to the dangers of falsely spreading ideas he doesnât personally align himself with and announced, âI am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!â But that obviously didnât signal the end of Westâs political antics as he continued to push forward with his 2020 presidential campaign under his independent âBirthday Party.â
On Halloween (Oct. 31), Owens penned an apologetic blog post titled after the rapperâs fourth studio album 808s & Heartbreak for falsely tying him to her Blexit movement, especially considering how much he means to her as a âsuperheroâ and as a âfriend.â
âListening to music from Kanye West and Jay-Z is what I give credit to having kept my spirit alive on some of the very worst days. Itâs a crazy thing to know that you wake up one day and someone whose words and lyrics literally kept your spirit alive is suddenly your friend. God is good. There are so many people in this world who love Kanye West because they know he is great and powerful and cool, but not every person in this world knows what it means to have someoneâs rap lyrics literally save you,â she began writing. ââŚIf I had to imagine what it would feel like to have a bullet pierce my heart, it would be exactly like the moment I learned Kanye told the world he felt I had used him. I wouldnât wish the way I felt last night upon my worst enemy.â
She continued: âI never once said that Kanye designed the t-shirts for BLEXIT. This is a lie that seems to have made its way around the world; a lie I would like to again correct for the record. Kanye was completely right to feel used in that regard and as I have done personally, I would like to publicly apologize to him for any undue stress or pain the effort to correct that rumor has caused him, his business relationships, or his family. He simply never designed them.â
Since then, Owens and Ye have patched things up, with Owens supporting the rapper by attending his controversial Paris Fashion Week show in 2022, and Ye returning the favor by walking the red carpet premiere of her film, Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM.Â
Candace Owens took aim at Lizzoâs appearance this week, and the pop starâs fans stepped in to defend her from the firebrandâs body-shaming commentary.
The drama started when the conservative author blasted Lizzo for posting a nearly nude photo of herself on social media, writing, âIf you peep comments on any of Lizzoâs âfat acceptanceâ photos, you will undoubtedly find a score of batshâ insane women telling her that she looks beautiful. Men do not lie to other men in this way. They do not pretend that clinical obesity is beauty.â
Naturally, Lizzoâs loyal fandom didnât take kindly to Owensâ inflammatory and unkind rhetoric â in the preceding tweet, she also accused women of âsupporting their own eradication via support for âtrans men’â â and surged onto social media to clap back.
âNot Candace Owens calling Lizzo insecure???!!!!!â one replied while a second wrote, âI was having a good day until this popped up in my feed.â
Others more openly pushed back against Owensâ statements, commenting, âThe point is about acceptance and love. Words you seem to have difficulty embracing in your lifeâ and âBut size has nothing to do with beauty. Lizzo is beautiful.â
While Lizzo hasnât directly responded to Owens, sheâs currently using her platform in partnership with the Dove Self-Esteem Project to combat the negative impact of harmful beauty standards across social media. âI DONT NEED SOCIAL MEDIAâŚSOCIAL MEDIA NEEDS ME,â she shared on Twitter and Instagram hours after Owensâ rude remarks went viral.
JoJo Siwa is hitting back at Candace Owensâ claim that sheâs lying about being lesbian.
The 33-year-old conservative commentator shared a nearly six-minute video through Twitter on Tuesday (April 4), suggesting that Siwa, 19, is pretending to be gay because she is seeking attention.
âI donât believe JoJo Siwa is a lesbian, by the way. I want to state that very clearly. I do believe that sheâs desperate for attention,â Owens says in the clip, taken from her Daily Wire podcast.

Owens then comments on the pop singer and dancerâs TikTok video from October 2022 about first realizing she was gay after hearing Demi Lovatoâs hit song âCool for the Summer,â watching Jenna Dewanâs Lip Sync Battle performance, and not wanting to be intimate with a man during a date.
âOne plus one plus one must equal âIâm a lesbo,ââ Owens says. âIt makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Itâs very clear to me she did that video for attention. She got attention because itâs a great way to find a community of victims.â
Siwa caught wind of Owensâ video and reacted to it a couple of days later. âI havenât watched the video yetâŚ. But if it has anything to do with your caption, respectfully back the fâ off,â the former Nickelodon star tweeted on Thursday (April 6).
Siwa officially came out on social media in 2021. âI never wanted [my coming out] to be a big deal,â she said in an interview with People a few months later. âIâve never gotten this much support from the world. I think this is the first time that Iâve felt so personally happy.â

The Tory Lanez criminal trial is underway and about to wrap up. As reporters feed information to those intrigued by the spectacle this court case has become, allowing them to form opinions, primarily false, Megan Thee Stallion, the apparent victim in all of this, has gained an unlikely supporter in Candace Owens.
A broken clock is right twice a day.
Edgeless coonservative Candace Owens, who in the past has criticized Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for their raunchy hit record âWAP,â is putting on her cape for the Houston rapper.
Taking to Elon Muskâs Twitter, Owens blasted the obvious misogynoir Thee Stallion is receiving and shared a clip from her podcast calling it out.
In the caption for the tweet, she wrote, âMegan Thee Stallion has credibly accused Tory Lanez of shooting her in the foot. She turned down hush money and has been stabbed in the back by her friends. Instead of getting showered with support, Megan was mocked. I canât imagine what it would be like to be in her position.â
Twitter, Of Course, Canât Believe What They Saw
Itâs a safe bet to assume no one foresaw Candace Owens coming to the defense of Megan Thee Stallion.
The reactions to the tweet from other Twitter users are a clear indication of that. âI promise you, I PROMISE YOU, Candace Owens speaking truth to power in the year of our Lord 2022 was not on my bingo card,â one woman wrote on Twitter.
âWasnât expecting this but there are some valid points. Megan Thee Stallion deserves a lot more than the laughs, jeers, hate & suspicion sheâs receiving as a domestic violence victim. The way sheâs being treated by the culture, hip-hop/rap community and the media is vile,â another Twitter user wrote in response to the clip.
Owens is a notorious hater; honestly, if you closed her eyes and heard her taking, you would think sheâs a white woman. With this surprising turn of events, her melanin is still present, and she recognizes a fellow Black womanâs pain.
The conservative talking head also claims this is not the first time she has put on a cape for Black artists.
âI actually defend a lot of black artists on my platform. The media just never covers it when I do,â she wrote in reply to a tweet.
âNotice that despite this going viral, there are no headlines about me defending Megan,â she added.
Well, Candace, here is your headline for saying something right.
