Kevin Durant calls himself Easy Money Sniper, and now we will see if he can live up to that in Call of Duty as the latest operator.

The writing was on the wall literally, and Call of Duty players saw it coming. Fans of the franchise figured it all out when they spotted Easy Money Sniper, the Phoenix Suns All-Star’s Instagram handle written on one of the buildings hinting he would be coming to the game.

Related Stories

That was confirmed when Call of Duty announced that the professional hooper, business mogul, and avid gamer would be the next available skin.
“@easymoneysniper is drafted to Call of Duty for his rookie season, ” Call of Duty writes in the caption of the IG post. “Kevin Durant will be available in a special, limited-time Store Bundle to be released during Season 03 Reloaded.”

Immediately after the announcement, the one question COD players had on their minds was if Durant would be in all of his 6’11 glory when he becomes available, making him a very obvious target in the game, or will he be shrunken down to the exact size of the other operators.

Durant’s addition to the game follows the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle villain, The Shredder’s operator skin.

We can’t wait to see how Easy Money Sniper looks and feels in the game. We also wonder how good Durant is in Call of Duty. He didn’t make a good impression in the NBA 2K Players Only Tournament.
On the other hand, his teammate, Devin Booker, is an excellent COD player, so he might be jealous that KD got an operator skin before him.
We are sure Booker will eventually get into the game too.

It looks like PlayStation isn’t out of the handheld business after all.
Insider Gaming exclusively reports PlayStation is actively working on a new handheld console called the “Q Lite.” The video game website says it will not center around cloud gaming but will be an extension of the PS5 utilizing the console’s remote play function that the company has been hyping up as of late.

[embedded content]
Per Insider Gaming:
Codenamed the Q Lite, the next PlayStation handheld is the next piece of Sony hardware that aims to be yet another piece of hardware that requires the PlayStation 5. Insider Gaming understands that the Q Lite is not a cloud-streaming device but instead uses Remote Play with the PlayStation 5.

According to the report, the Q Lite will feature adaptive streaming up to 1080p and 60FPS and require constant internet connectivity.
As for its look, Insider Gaming says it will look like a PS5 DualSense controller with “a massive 8-inch LCD touchscreen in the center.” It will also have adaptive triggers and support haptic feedback, plus all of the bells and whistles you come to expect for a portable gaming device.

The Q Lite Could Be A Part of The Second Phase of The PS5
The news of the Q Lite follows reports of Sony working on a PlayStation 5 Pro and PS5 console with a detachable disc drive, and it will arrive before both consoles.
All three devices could be a part of the “second phase of the PS5,” according to Jeff Grubb’s reporting. PlayStation is also said to be working on wireless earbuds called “Project Nomad,” a wireless headset called “Project Voyager,” and The Q Lite could all be coming very soon.
Sony officially discontinued its last portable device, the PS Vita, in 2019, leaving the impression the company is done with handheld consoles.
That appears not to be the case. Are you excited about Q Lite? Let us know in the comment section below.

Now this makes all the sense in the world.
On 4/20, the official smokers’ holiday, Lil Wayne will host an upcoming Street Fighter 6 presentation that Capcom says will be the final look at the highly anticipated fighting game before its June 2 release.

The presentation will not only feature the rapper. The game’s developers will also join him, and they will share more details on Street Fighter 6’s World Tour, Battle Hub, and Fighting Ground modes.

Capcom also boasts there will be some “big news” at the end of the 30-minute presentation, and we wonder precisely what it could be.
Barring a huge leak, Capcom has steadily released news about Street Fighter 6’s lineup of characters, old and new, the new game modes, and its better graphics, a direct result of moving to Capcom’s RE Engine.
As for Lil Wayne, this is not the first time for him in the video game space. Weezy, who is a big fan of skateboarding was a playable character in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5.
He also teamed up with Ubisoft for Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s “Squad Up” commercial spot. Street Fighter 6 also reuintes Lil Wayne with Capcom, the Japanese video game company was the sponsor of the Lil Wayne vs. Drake concert tour which used a dedicated Street Fighter theme in the marketing for the concert, tour merchandise and stage choreography.
We have a strong feeling Lil Wayne will have something to do with Street Fighter 6 when it launches.

Well, the action-packed, 3-minute final trailer before the game’s impending launch had plenty of eye candy to show while an epic remix of the iconic Legend of Zelda theme blasts through the speakers, pretty much invoking single tears of joy from Zelda fans worldwide.
As far as the game’s plot, Hyrule is in trouble again from some new threats that will require Link, aka Hyrule’s “final hope,” as Princess Zelda calls him in the trailer to link up with allies old and new to take down new enemies, and of course, as always, Ganondorf has found a way to return to stir up trouble.
Link must pick up the Master Sword again and use his new Ultrahand and building abilities to fight on the ground, take to the skies, and even get his Mission Impossible on to defeat his longtime nemesis while trying to find Princess Zelda and save Hyrule from doom.

All good things eventually come to an end. When it comes time for EA to roll out its annual soccer video game, it will have a new name.

After 30 years, EA Sports, the video game studio, has moved on from FIFA and unveiled its soccer video game franchise’s new name, EA Sports FC.

The new black and white logo is simple with an EA Sports bubble next to FC, which is in the shape of a triangle, a symbol synonymous with the sport of soccer as it is the makeup of the formations on the soccer pitch and the pixels that make the game come to life.
The new logo is a product of EA and FIFA failing to reach a new licensing agreement to extend their 30-year partnership. As a result, EA will no longer use the FIFA branding in its video games.
The iconic video game studio has been using the FIFA branding since the release of the inaugural FIFA video game for the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis console in 1993.
When Will The New Logo Officially Debut?
In a press release, EA says the rebrand is “a new Football Club for the future of football we want to build together.”
“From passing techniques to set plays, the [triangle] shape has also been woven into the DNA of EA Sports football experiences for decades,” EA wrote. “From the isometric angles of our very first 8-bit experiences and the triangular polygons that make up every pixel of our most modern games, as well as the iconic player indicator symbol that appears above every athlete in every match.”
The new branding will debut this weekend during matches from the biggest soccer leagues, including the Premier League, La Liga, German Bundesliga, Ligue 1, the Women’s Super League, and the National Women’s Soccer League.
We hope this rebrand does not affect the quality of the games. EA’s soccer video games are a model of consistency.

Source: ESA / E3 2023
Welp, E3 2023 has been put on ice…again.
IGN broke the news that two sources confirmed with the website that the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) is canceling this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The sad news comes after multiple video game companies like Ubisoft, Sega, and Tencent pulled out of the event, giving the gaming industry and gamers the vibe that E3 2023 was not happening.
Per IGN:
Two sources have confirmed to IGN that the organization announced the cancellation via an email sent out to its members today. The email said that while E3 “remains a beloved event and brand,” that the 2023 version “simply did not garner the sustained interest necessary to execute it in a way that would showcase the size, strength, and impact of our industry.”
The ESA concludes the email by reiterating its commitment to advocacy work. It does not mention undertaking the show again in future years.
The ESA did confirm IGN’s reporting with a statement from Kyle Marsden-Kish, Global VP of Gaming, ReedPop:
This was a difficult decision because of all the effort we and our partners put toward making this event happen, but we had to do what’s right for the industry and what’s right for E3. We appreciate and understand that interested companies wouldn’t have playable demos ready and that resourcing challenges made being at E3 this summer an obstacle they couldn’t overcome. For those who did commit to E3 2023, we’re sorry we can’t put on the showcase you deserve and that you’ve come to expect from ReedPop’s event experiences.
The statement also claims that ReedPop and the ESA will continue to work on “future E3 events.” We shall see about that.
Twitter Says RIP To E3
Reactions to the news immediately began to hit Twitter timelines, with some users congratulating Summer Game Fest’s creator Geoff Keighley for officially owning the summer.

Keighley didn’t waste any time plugging his event after the news broke about E3 2023.

RIP E3 became a trending topic immediately, with gamers and members of video game media sharing fond memories of past E3 conventions.
You can see those tweets in the gallery below.

We are one step closer to that long-awaited television adaption of Gears of War.
Variety exclusively reports that Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Jon Spaihts has boarded Netflix’s forthcoming adaptation of the popular Xbox video game, Gears of War.
Spaihts has co-written 2021’s Dune, the upcoming Dune sequel, and Doctor Strange and hopes to deliver another great television adaptation of a video game franchise.

“Gears of War’ is one of the all-time great action games, with vivid characters, a beautifully designed world, and a combat system that drives home the lethality of war and the importance of standing by your squadmates. It wants to be cinema, and I’m thrilled to have the chance to help that happen,” Spaihts told Variety in a statement.
The Netflix film is just one part of the GOW universe it hopes to build after landing a deal with Gears of War developer, The Coalition in November 2022. If all goes as planned, the feature film will come first, with an adult animated series behind it and then potentially spinoff series.
The game centers around human civilization as they fight to survive against a subterranean threat called The Locust Horde. The human race’s last hope lies with a disgraced sergeant, Marcus Fenix, who leads Delta Squad, a ragtag group of soldiers.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Jon and the Netflix team to bring ‘Gears of War’ to life,” The Coalition said. “Jon is a master storyteller with a talent for creating epic, science-fiction universes, and he truly loves ‘Gears of War.’ We couldn’t ask for a better partner to honor our franchise and deliver an authentic story to our fans.”
Does This Mean Dave Bautista Is Joining The Project?
This is the most significant development in adapting Gears of War into a film. Before Netflix got on board, New Line Cinema acquired the rights to turn GOW into a film in 2007, before Scott Stuber, now head of original films at Netflix, joined Epic Games as a producer in 2013.
Universal hired  F. Scott Frazier to pen an adaption in 2018, but nothing ever came of that.
As far as casting, one name has come up for years, and it’s none other than Dave Bautista, who fans have chosen from the jump to play Marcus Fenix because of the uncanny resemblance.

The former WWE superstar turned actor has even lobbied for the role, and it also helps The Coalition’s release of DLC using Bautista’s likeness in the game.
With Spaihts onboard, it makes all the sense for Bautista to land the role since they worked together on both Dune and Dune: Part Two.
So, with that said, make it happen. Give Bautista the role. Looking at you, Netflix.

Microsoft is working hard to get Xbox on as many platforms as possible, including smartphones. That could be a reality soon, but it all hinges on one big thing.

Speaking with the Financial Times, Xbox Chief Phil Spencer, spoke on the company’s ambition to bring an Xbox Games Store to the iPhone sometime this year, but that all depends on current regulatory measures.

The biggest roadblock is Microsoft’s $75 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, currently in limbo, according to the chief executive of Microsoft Gaming, that would give the tech giant a wide portfolio of mobile games. The app store’s launch also hinges on the EU’s Digital Markets Act plus other regulations that will allow for the enforcement of other app stores to appear on iOS.
“We want to be in a position to offer Xbox and content from both us and our third-party partners across any screen where somebody would want to play,” Spencer said to the Financial Times. “Today, we can’t do that on mobile devices, but we want to build towards a world that we think will be coming where those devices are opened up.”
Apple Is Preparing For The Launch of Alternative Store Apps on The iPhone
Apple, who is notoriously protective of its sh*t, is prepping iOS for the upcoming change by preparing to allow alternative app stores on the iPhone to comply with the Digital Markets Act that reportedly coming into play in March 2024, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Gurman further reports Apple will roll out the changes with iOS 17 updates for iPhone next year in Europe only so that still leaves American iPhone users out of the loop.
Currently, you can access Xbox games on your mobile devices through the Xbox Cloud Gaming’s web client, and while it works smoothly depending on certain factors like internet connection, it’s not as stable as a dedicated app would be.

RoboCop issues out his brand of justice in a new gameplay trailer.
Teyon Games aims to deliver the superior experience as the law enforcement cyborg in its RoboCop: Rogue City video game.
The gameplay overview trailer was dropped during publisher, Nacon’s, Nacon Connect showcase showing not only show RoboCop taking out thugs with his trusty auto-9, and knocking them clear across the room, but also handing out parking tickets. We are very serious about that last part.

We also learned the game will be coming out later than expected with its new release date.
Take Out Criminals & Hand Out Parking Tickets In RoboCop: Rogue City

The trailer shows the popular late 80s early 90s action film character patroling the crime infested streets of Old Detroit. Using his computer programmed detective skills we see Alex Murphy root out a drug den in the basement of an arcade.
Once he finds the perps, he whips out his auto-9, and even switches to a machine gun to vicisouly take out the criminals stupid enough to think they can stop RoboCop. The trailer also showcase exactly how bloody this game will be, which should be a welcome sign to fans of the RoboCop film franchise.
Blowing away crooks is not the only thing RoboCop will do in Rogue City. As mentioned above we see him the cyborg cop handing out a ticket to a car parked too close to a fire hydrant.
Another big deal is the fact Peter Weller, the actoer who played Alex Murphy/RoboCop in the first two films lends his voice for the game. He doesn’t sound exactly like he does in the films, but we’re gonna chop that it up to the fact he is 75-years-old now.
Still, this one of the games we are very curious about and are looking forward to playing RoboCop: Rogue City when it drops in September on on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
No word if this game will be on the Nintendo Switch.
