So, despite all the people claiming they were not going to watch this year’s Super Bowl LVIII for many reasons *coughs* Taylor Swift, it turns out this year’s edition of the big game was the most watched ever.

ESPN reports a record number of eyes were in front of their television screens to see the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers, Usher’s brilliant Apple Music Halftime show, and less than a minute of Taylor Swift.
Per ESPN:

According to Nielsen and Adobe Analytics, the Kansas City Chiefs’ 25-22 overtime victory versus the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday averaged 123.4 million viewers across television and streaming platforms. That shattered last year’s mark of 115.1 million for Kansas City’s last-play victory over the Philadelphia Eagles with a 7% increase.
Nielsen also says a record 202.4 million people looked at some part of the game across all networks at one point, which was a 10% jump over the previous year’s 183.6 million.
It also eclipses the 2016 Super Bowl between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers on CBS, which had 112.34 million viewers.
It was only the second Super Bowl to go into overtime and the second straight event to average over 100 million viewers.
Possible Reasons For This Year’s Super Bowl’s Ratings Success
On top of the thrilling game that saw the Chiefs need overtime to send the San Franciso 49ers back to the bay without the Lombardi trophy, again, there was also the added hoopla of Taylor Swift being in the building and, of course, highly anticipated halftime performance from Usher.
Leading up to the game, the extreme MAGA crowd somehow managed to link Taylor Swift, President Joe Biden, and Super Bowl LVIII in some ridiculous conspiracy theory.
Following the game’s result, President Biden even mocked them, using the infamous “Dark Brandon” meme with the caption, “Just like we drew it up.”

We will be tuned in again next year.

Brittany Mahomes is spreading the Kansas City Chiefs love. Shortly after the team won Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas Sunday (Feb. 11), the retired women’s soccer player – who is married to quarterback Patrick Mahomes – attended a post-game afterparty, where she convinced Post Malone to trade in his Dallas Cowboys […]

It looks like Shaquille O’Neal had a good time at the 2024 Super Bowl on Sunday (Feb. 11). The next day, the 51-year-old former basketball star shared a photo on Instagram from his weekend at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where he met up with Taylor Swift and his new crush, Ice Spice.
In the picture, the seven-foot sports analyst and DJ looms tall over Swift and the 24-year-old “Munch” rapper, posing with his hands around both women’s shoulders. Ice flashes a peace sign, while producer RiotUSA looks away from the camera on the 34-year-old “Anti-Hero” singer’s other side.

“and @icespice is so dam fine,” Shaq captioned the post. “thanks @taylorswift.”

The “Karma” collaborators attended Super Bowl LVIII to root on Swift’s boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce, who helped lead the Kansas City Chiefs to victory against the San Francisco 49ers. The two musicians were also joined by Blake Lively, Lana Del Rey, Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry at the game, as well as Kelce’s family.

Afterward, Ice shared her own photos on Instagram with Swift and Shaq, along with a snap of her and the “Shake it Off” singer’s posse cheering for the Chiefs in the stands. She simply captioned the post, “W.”

Fans tuning into the Super Bowl got to see Ice during the live broadcast as well as during the commercial break. The Bronx native starred in an ad for PepsiCo, in which she rejects her fictious ex-boyfriend’s attempt at getting back together in favor of a new beau: Starry soda.

“I just need something refreshing, more crisp! I’m with Starry now,” she said in the 30-second clip.

A week prior, Ice and Swift both attended the Grammys, where the former was nominated for best new artist (which went to Victoria Monet), and the latter took home album of the year and pop vocal album for Midnights. On March 6, the “Deli” artist will be honored with the Hitmaker Award at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards.

The Bronx continues to influence pop culture. A photograph of Jason Kelce chatting with Ice Spice is the Super Bowl’s hottest meme.

As reported by Time Magazine Super Bowl LVIII was filled to the brim with interesting moments from NFL coaches making some statements that would make Cam’ron say “AYO” to fans questioning Alicia Keys letting Usher grab her from behind. Before the game Jason Kelce, brother of Travis, was spotted meeting Ice Spice for the first time in Taylor Swift’s sky box. While the moment seemed very innocent the image lent itself to some pretty incredible memes. Some of the standouts included the former football center mistaking the rapper for orphan Annie or making an awkward reference to her songs.

The former football center first met Taylor Swift during the AFC divisional match up between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. After his brother scored a touchdown he took off his shirt in excitement. On his New Heights podcast he detailed the moment with the “Shake It Off” pop star. “I want to make my best first impression, and this was my best chance” he said.
Ice Spice’s rise to stardom has included what seems to be a genuine friendship with Taylor Swift. The two collaborated on “Karma” and have been buddy buddy ever since. You can see some of the best Jason Kelce meeting Ice Spice reactions below.

Usher completed an epic weekend by marrying his longtime partner Jennifer Goicoechea in Las Vegas, just hours after his performance at Super Bowl LVIII.
The pair got hitched at Vegas Weddings’ Terrace Gazebo, an outdoor wedding chapel that seats 30 guests, with Usher’s mother and former longtime manager Jonetta Patton on hand as the couple’s witness, according to an exclusive published by People.

“We can confirm that Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea took the next step in their relationship and did get married on Sunday night in Las Vegas surrounded by close friends and family,” reads a statement from Usher’s reps, People reports.

“They both look forward to continuing to raise their children together surrounded by love and thank everyone for the well wishes.”

This was no lazy Sunday for Usher.

Earlier, the 45-year-old R&B hitmaker delivered a 15-minute career-spanning set at Allegiant Stadium which saw the Grammy Award-winning singer blasting through his hits, including “Caught Up,” “Burn,” “U Got It Bad,” “Confessions Part II,” “Love In This Club,” with assistance from Alicia Keys, Will.i.am, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., Ludacris and Lil Jon.

Usher has a long and happy relationship with Vegas. His blockbuster halftime show dropped just a few months after closing one of the most successful and buzzed-about Sin City residencies in history, as his My Way show grossed $95.9 million.

In his Billboard cover story, Usher said his Vegas residencies enabled him to prep for a sizzling Super Bowl set. “I’ve watched every performer, analyzing how they maximized those 12 minutes,” he shared. “But you know, your moment is your moment. And this is a moment I’ve prepared for during the last 30 years.”

Usher and Goicoechea, a music industry professional, have been an item since 2019. They share two kids together — daughter Sovereign Bo Raymond and their son Sire Castrello Raymond (Usher has two sons with ex-wife Tameka Foster: Usher V and Naviyd Ely).

After a scoreless first quarter, the 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey got the first touchdown of the 2024 Super Bowl, taking San Francisco to a 10-0 lead over Kansas City in the second quarter — and who was right there in the Niners’ end zone to cheer him on? Jelly Roll and a crowd of fellow music stars all sitting in the Live Nation Field Club.
And that was just the first half: After the Chiefs tied it up 19-19 and took the game into overtime, the A-list party got to watch Kansas City march down the field and score the Super Bowl-winning touchdown in that same end zone, directly in front of them. Tate McRae shared a video of the Chiefs’ celebration on her Instagram Story with the caption “wowwwww,” while Kygo posted a video of the game-clinching touchdown in action.

Live Nation took over the field-level suites in the north end zone of Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium and brought together some of the biggest names in music across genres and labels to all watch the game with an unbeatable view. Jelly Roll — who caught up with Billboard behind the scenes at the Super Bowl — was the Field Club’s social butterfly, seen connecting with Machine Gun Kelly, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, Twenty One Pilots, The Chainsmokers, Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds and Kygo.

Jelly’s friend and collaborator Lainey Wilson was spotted catching up with her “wait in the truck” duet partner HARDY and also hanging out with McRae and The Kid LAROI, who in turn spent some time chatting with MGK.

Peso Pluma and Feid were seen hanging with Marco Antonio Solís, frontman for Los Bukis, who will kick off the first Spanish-language Las Vegas residency in May.

While hanging out with Bob Weir (who is about to start his own Vegas residency at Sphere with Dead & Company in May), the Chili Peppers’ Smith repped for his nearly-Super-Bowl-bound team by wearing a Detroit Lions hat in the Field Club. A couple of Billboard chart-topping duos — Josh Dunn and Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots and Drew Taggart and Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers — were seen sharing a table.

Chloe and Halle Bailey filmed a TikTok from the Field Club soundtracked by Muni Long’s “Made for Me” (with the perfect opening line for the look-alike sisters: “Twin, where have you been?”).

Other stars spotted in the Live Nation Field Club: Post Malone (fresh off his Super Bowl performance of “America the Beautiful”), Travis Scott, Maren Morris, Lizzo, 21 Savage, Jared Leto, Backstreet Boys’ Kevin Richardson, Lil Nas X, H.E.R. (who was a surprise guest during Usher’s halftime show) and Zhu.

Below, find social posts from inside the Field Club, including the Bailey sisters; Jamil Davis of Revels Group alongside Scott and Pluma; and Miami nightlife entrepreneur David Grutman with Pluma, Jelly Roll and Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino.

Beyoncé announced a follow-up album to her hit ‘Renaissance’ during Super Bowl LVIII and dropped two new tracks for her fans to enjoy. Las Vegas is no stranger to A-list musicians, but Super Bowl Week was an especially starry time to be in Sin City. There were parties up and down the Strip, starting at the desert’s newest resort, the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, which made excellent use of its members-only Poodle Room for a pair of intimate pre-game parties. First was Roc Nation Sports’ Super Bowl Party on Friday night, where Jay-Z caught up with fellow rap vets Fat Joe and E-40 and mingled with Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Brady, Travis Scott, Queen Latifah, Jermaine Dupri and more stars. On Saturday night, Grand Marnier Presents Magic Johnson’s Mount Rushmore Super Bowl LVIII Bash took over the Poodle Room, with the Lakers legend hosting *NSYNC’s Lance Bass and a return trip from DiCaprio.
Elsewhere at the Fontainebleau on Friday night, Post Malone headlined The One Party by Uber, returning to the BleauLive Theater after his pair of New Year’s Eve weekend shows that launched the venue. Up a level at the LIV nightclub that same night, Calvin Harris and Kid Cudi headlined the FanDuel x Spotify party, with Harris coming back a couple of days later to headline LIV’s post-Super Bowl DJ set on Sunday night.
One venue that stood out on the Strip was the h.wood Homecoming pop-up megastructure that covered 45,000 square feet. Friday night’s party, presented by Taco Bell and in partnership with REVOLVE, was headlined by David Guetta and Future (with a surprise DJ set by Travis Scott), while Saturday was headlined by Jack Harlow and Kaytranada, along with a DJ set from Zack Bia, where partygoers got to see Harlow perform his five-week Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Lovin On Me.”
Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Super Bowl Party at The Cosmopolitan’s Marquee Dayclub was the place to be on Saturday afternoon, with Ice Spice, Justin Bieber, Jelly Roll, The Chainsmokers, Russell Wilson, Ciara and more all making appearances at the poolside party, which included performances by Travis Scott and T-Pain.
Usher showed off more of his rollerskating skills Sunday night at the Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace Big Game After Party Celebrating the Release of “Coming Home” by Usher and Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop at Encore Beach Club at Wynn. Dre and Snoop surprised guests with a performance that included “California Love,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang” and “Gin and Juice.” Over at another Wynn property on Friday night, Lil Wayne performed and Flavor Flav DJ’d at Shaq’s Fun House, which went down at XS. The next night, Bebe Rexha performed at Sports Illustrated‘s SI The Party Presented by Captain Morgan, also at XS.
Country was well-represented during Super Bowl Week, with Zach Bryan (alongside Leon Bridges) headlining the Bud Light Backyard Tour at The Chelsea in The Cosmopolitan, while Luke Combs played the BetMGM Big Game Bash on Saturday night, also at The Chelsea.
Verizon’s four-day “Verizon Live” activation took over Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club in The LINQ Promenade and offered fans a chance to get up close and personal with their favorite athletes, artists and entertainers, from the stars of Avatar: The Last Airbender and HBO’s Hacks, to Grammy-nominated rapper Tobe Nwigwe. Verizon partnered with MAX, Apple Music and Netflix on the Super Bowl event, serving as a chance to promote their Verizon myPlan bundles, which gets customers access to popular streaming services bundled together (I.e. Netflix and MAX) from just $10 a month.
And that’s not all — find pictures of some of your favorite stars from music and sports in our full Super Bowl party gallery below.

Jermaine Dupri thought he got a fit off, but X users vehemently disagreed.
Usher’s highly anticipated Apple Music Halftime performance at Super Bowl LVIII blessed us with many moments worth talking about and, most importantly, joking about.
One person catching heat on social media is So So Def general Jermaine Dupri and his choice of drip, which many believe was so so trash.
Dupri hit the stage during the performance, rocking a black short suit with a white button-up underneath paired with some eyebrow-raising socks and loafers.
Many viewers thought Durpi was CeeLo Green at first. One person wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “MY MAMA THOUGHT JERMAINE DUPRI WAS CEELO LMFAOOOOOOOO.”
Others couldn’t help but clown Dupri’s fit, especially his choice of socks.

Even Suge Knight got in on the fun. Also, how the hell is he running an X account from prison?

Of course, the slander of his fit didn’t get past him, and Dupri decided to respond via Instagram by showing that his socks were from Louis Vuitton.
In the caption for the post, he wrote, Ha!! ok I ain’t have time for y’all last night I was too drunk, me and my homies performed at the Super Bowl!so I’m just really seeing y’all got me fucked up !! But I will say it’s funny as hell, yoooo!! @pharrell you see this !? PS we came into this game with our clothes on backwards, i ain’t no regular nigga.”

Little did Dupri know that his responding by showing us he bought a pair of overpriced socks would only worsen the situation.

We’re glad Jermaine Dupri is being a good sport about the jokes. You can see more reactions to his awful fit in the gallery below.
