Billboard’s Hot Trending charts, powered by Twitter, track global music-related trends and conversations in real-time across Twitter, viewable over either the last 24 hours or past seven days. A weekly, 20-position version of the chart, covering activity from Friday through Thursday of each week, posts alongside Billboard’s other weekly charts on Billboard.com each Tuesday, with the latest tracking period running March 24-30.
“Dogtooth” premiered March 27 alongside the announcement of an expanded edition of Call Me If You Get Lost, dubbed Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale, which adds eight songs to the rapper’s 2021 Billboard 200 No. 1 album. The expanded edition was released March 31.
Despite just four days of sales, streams and airplay toward the April 8 Billboard Hot 100, “Dogtooth” concurrently debuts at No. 81 with 7.3 million official U.S. streams, according to Luminate, with a higher rank possible upon the song’s first full seven days (April 15).
“Dogtooth” leads three different Tyler, the Creator songs on the latest Hot Trending Songs list. “She,” from 2011’s Goblin, lands at No. 2, while new cut “Sorry Not Sorry” starts at No. 9.
Jimin’s Hot 100 No. 1 “Like Crazy” jumps 10-3 in its second week on the survey following the release of his new EP FACE, concurrently No. 2 on the Billboard 200. As previously reported, “Crazy” earned 10 million streams and 254,000 in sales toward its Hot 100 coronation, while FACE received 164,000 equivalent album units.
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo reaches No. 4 with new single “All Eyes on Me,” while Daniel Caesar’s “Valentina” from upcoming album Never Enough (April 7) hits No. 5.

Most musicians can’t say that the most-awarded artist in Grammy history gave them pointers on their debut album, but Chloe Bailey can. The 24-year-old singer revealed at the premiere of her new movie Praise This that none other than Beyoncé listened to In Pieces, Bailey’s brand new solo record, before its release and provided constructive criticism that any rising star would kill for.
“Yes, I know she listened to the album,” Bailey shared when asked by ET if the “Break My Soul” singer had heard In Pieces yet. “She gave me notes on it before I released it.”
“I love her so much,” Bailey continued. “Dearly, dearly, and I’m so grateful to her for everything.”
Bey and Bailey have been friends for years, with the former serving as a mentor for the latter since 2015. It was that year when the Ivy Park founder took notice of Chloe and her younger sister, Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey, after the two covered “Pretty Hurts” from 2013’s Beyoncé. Bey later signed the duo to her Parkwood Entertainment management company.
Queen B even presented Chloe and Halle with the Rising Star Award at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, gushing that she was “so proud” of the sisters. “You’ve done this with authenticity, with grace, with raw talent, and you manage to shine in every room you enter, and I’ll always love you,” Bey continued at the time.
Since being taken under Beyoncé’s wing, Chloe x Halle have released three LPs: 2017’s The Two of Us, 2018’s The Kids Are Alright and 2020’s Ungodly Hour. The elder Bailey went on to kick off a solo career with her 2021 debut single “Have Mercy.”
Bailey also opened up about how she’s feeling now following In Pieces‘ March 31 release. “I was so nervous, and now I just feel at peace,” the Swarm actress confessed. “I’m so happy it’s out. I got to say everything I wanted to say, and I hope people get an insight more into who Chloe is.”
Brooklyn rappers Lola Brooke and Billy B each score their first career entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated April 8), as “Don’t Play With It” debuts at No. 69.

The song, originally released in May 2021 via Team Eighty/Arista Records (and billed as by Lola Brooke featuring Billy B), opens with 17.1 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 19%), 5.7 million U.S. streams (up 124%) and 600 downloads sold (up 194%) March 24-30, according to Luminate.
Spurring the song’s latest gains is its new remix, released March 24, with Latto and Yung Miami (both credited as lead artists on the Hot 100; Billy B is billed as featured).
The track concurrently jumps 22-11 on Hot Rap Songs and 33-21 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Radio wise, the song rises 8-5 on Rap Airplay, 10-6 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and 13-9 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and holds at its No. 20 high on Rhythmic Airplay. On the all-genre-format Radio Songs chart, the song rises 48-44.
TikTok has been a factor in the song’s growing profile, as a portion of the track has been used in nearly 450,000 videos on the platform. Another version, a mash-up with 50 Cent’s “Candy Shop,” has been used in nearly 600,000 clips. (TikTok does not contribute directly to Billboard‘s charts.)
Brooke and Billy B are both newcomers to Billboard’s charts, as “Play” became both acts’ first entries.
Brooke has been releasing music since 2018, starting with her breakout single “Bipolar.” She also appears on a new remix, released March 17, of Hitkidd, Gloss Up, K Carbon, Slimeroni and Aleza’s “Shabooya,” which ranks at No. 15 on Rap Airplay, No. 17 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, No. 19 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and No. 24 on Rhythmic Airplay.
In December, Future brought out Brooke during his New Year’s Eve show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, generating a viral clip during her hometown performance and earning a co-sign from Missy Elliott on Twitter. Brooke signed to Arista, in collaboration with Team Eighty Productions, the following week.
“Lola is the rare talent whose presence matches her message,” Arista CEO David Massey said at the time. “Her music is larger than life, but her vision is just as powerful.”
Billboard named Brooke its R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month in February.

After earning his second Super Bowl ring earlier this year, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce just found the perfect way to celebrate his championship. The high-energy baller announced on Tuesday (April 4) that he’s behind the first-ever Kelce Jam, a music festival slated to take place on April 28 in Kansas City, Mo., with a lineup he curated from acts that have personal meaning for him.
Topping the bill is one of his old childhood neighbors who also happens to have blown up into a superstar, Machine Gun Kelly, who grew up down the street from Kelce in Cleveland.
“[I’ve] been following his success from the start of his career,” Kelce tells Billboard about of the “Emo Girl” rocker. “It’s been amazing to see a hometown hero selling out stadiums. So for me, MGK was a no-brainer and I personally drafted some of my favorite artists in the world alongside him.”
Those other acts include Loud Luxury, Rick Ross and special guest Tech N9ne. “Loud Luxury is one of the biggest DJ duos out there right now. Everyone loves [the pair’s 2020 single] ‘Body’ and they bring the energy, and I have no doubt they will get the crowd rocking,” the football star tells Billboard. Kelce also says that Ross is, of course, “the boss, a true legend,” and that there was no way he could throw a party in KC without one of the city’s hometown heroes, rapper Tech N9ne.
As for why he’s hopping into the already crowded festival space, Kelce says he wanted to time his event around the 2023 NFL draft, which will take place at Union Station in KC from April 27 to 29. “With the NFL Draft headed to Kansas City and as the perfect way to continue celebrating our Super Bowl victory, I am launching one of KC’s most unique festivals to date!” says the 33-year-old. “I really wanted to bring the whole city together and what better way to do so than with fire music, great food, tons of football attractions, interactive brand activations and so much more.”
Pre-sale opens on Friday (April 7) at 11 a.m. ET, with the general on-sale following at 1 p.m. ET. Check out the Kelce Jam website for more details on the show. “KC has supported me in immense ways throughout my career, and I wanted to throw a city wide celebration that truly represents the energy and people of this great city,” Kelce adds. “We are excited to grow this into one of KC’s biggest entertainment events with 20,000 attendees and who knows where we will bring it next!”
Kelce has teamed up with event producer Medium Rare, the company behind a number of pre-Super Bowl events, including Shaq’s Fun House with Shaquille O’Neal, Gronk Beach with Rob Gronkowski and Guy’s Flavortown Tailgate with Guy Fieri.

On Friday, the superstar rapper previewed a new track titled “Rescue Me” during an episode of Sound 42’s The Fry Yiy Show on SiriusXM Radio. The song samples Kim Kardashian discussing her divorce with Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) during the series finale of E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “I didn’t come this far, just to come this far and not be happy. Remember that,” she tells her mother Kris Jenner in the audio.
Last week, producer BNYX shared a clip from Drake’s Instagram Story of “Rescue Me” playing from a DJ controller. “I remember when I used to add the Drake acapellas to my beats to see if they was hard. Now look,” he wrote.
Taunting Ye is a classic move in Drizzy’s playbook, considering both rappers’ historic beef. In August 2021, Drake reignited their feud by dissing Ye in his verse off Trippie Redd‘s “Betrayal.” The Donda rapper then leaked the OVO boss’ home address on social media, and the Certified Lover Boy MC retaliated by taking shots at him on his song “7am on Bridle Path” and later leaking the then-unreleased “Life of the Party” collaboration between Ye and André 3000 on SiriusXM, before the track eventually found itself on the track list for the deluxe version of Donda. The two seemed to have squashed their beef by the end of year, when they came together to perform at the “Free Larry Hoover” benefit concert at Los Angeles’ Coliseum, which was organized by J. Prince.
During the concert, Ye pleaded with his ex-wife Kardashian to “run right back to me” while performing his “Runaway” magnum opus from his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Their divorce was finalized on Nov. 29, 2022, and less than two months later, he reportedly remarried to Yeezy’s head of architecture, Bianca Censori.
Cardi B is known for sharing her thoughts on various topics while chatting with fans on Instagram Live, and her recent livestream session on Friday (March 31) was no different.

At some point during the conversation, the “I Like It” rapper got on the topic of women claiming that they have sex with their partner multiple times every day, according to Hip-Hop DX. “You practically telling the world that your man on drugs,” she said. “Your n—-’s on drugs, your man is on drugs. ‘Cause there ain’t no way.”
The “WAP” rapper, who has been married to fellow star Offset since 2017, added that while she gets why someone would want to have sex all day, it’s not realistic. “If your man wanna have sex with you four, five times a day… and we do that everyday… Girl, your man is on percs, or your man is trying to convince himself that he likes p—-,” she explained.
“That is not a flex. Go stitch your p—- up. Your man is sick,” Cardi concluded.
Last week, Cardi’s vodka-infused whipped cream, Whipshots, revealed that it has sold more than 2 million cans and expanded into new markets. “We just went double platinum! We’re not playing around when we say Whipshots is the best,” Cardi said in a statement. “Boozy and beautiful since day one, and two million cans later, there is no slowing us down. I love the fans supporting our brand – let’s keep this party going!”
The boozy, non-dairy whipped cream, which sold its first million cans in just 10 months, went on to sell another million cans four months later.
It’s Monday and we’re back again. For this week’s Fresh Picks, we’re feeling the sunshine and rounded up the latest heat to soundtrack your next seven days (and beyond) from emerging R&B and hip-hop artists.

From newcomers like 2Rare and Luh Tyler to buzzing names like Kiana Lede and A$AP Twelvyy, there’s a little something here for every pair of listening ears. And as always, don’t forget to share the wealth with our Spotify playlist, linked below.
Freshest Find: Olivia Dean, “Dive”
Captivating listeners by way of her buttery voice and relatable words, Olivia Dean has us all ready to dive (into her catalog). The London singer-songwriter fuses R&B melodies and instrumentation into an undeniably feel-good pop cut, just in time for a summer full of love. The inclusion of a hip-hop drum pattern, thick harmonies and brass instruments bring to mind fellow U.K. singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, while the approach to songwriting is entirely her own.
Price & Sage the Gemini, “Foo”
“Foo” is the latest track in Price’s “saggin’ and braggin’ campaign,” where he drops a new single or visual at least once a month. The high energy track features Sage the Gemini as the two rap about people acting a fool in the best and worst ways.
2Rare, “Rare Steppa”
2Rare is a self-proclaimed rare stepper and trendsetter. This up-tempo song from the Philly rapper is perfect for the club or summer block parties, as he carves a lane for himself in the Philly club music scene.
Blanco, “Londis”
Between woozy bass kicks, languid piano keys and strings, U.K. rapper Blanco is paying homage to his local convenience store. “I was inspired to write a song about Londis a couple of months before I made the song. It came to me as I was driving past [it] — it’s not any Londis, just a particular one in my community where we’ve known the shopkeeper for ten plus years. And we’ve shot some iconic videos outside of the shop, so it just made sense,” he told Billboard.
Luh Tyler, “You Was Laughing”
Luh Tyler has a lot to celebrate. The 17-year-old just signed a new deal with Atlantic and released his debut mixtape My Vision. “This project represents my vision of me seeing myself at the top,” he shares in a press release. Standout track “You Was Laughing” is the pensive closer to the mixtape and sees Tyler rapping about his newfound, budding fame. “I been feeling like a king, but I don’t play for Sacramento/ I wasn’t tryna rap forreal, I did that s–t on accidental,” he raps.
Q, “Not Alone”
With its funk undertones and electronic synths, Q’s “Not Alone” sounds straight out of the ’80s. The new offering from Q Marsden further cements him as an old soul and R&B/funk force to be reckoned with. On “Not Alone,” he’s almost literally painting the town red as the song’s visualizer shows him painting a canvas red.
Kiana Ledé feat. Ella Mai, “Jealous”
It might be Kiana’s birthday, but we’re the ones getting a gift. The aries singer teamed up with fellow R&B favorite from across the pond, Ella Mai, on her latest offering, “Jealous.” To the sounds of gentle acoustic guitar and crisp percussion, the 26-year-old Phoenix native admits to carrying less-than-desirable feelings about a sometimes-lover.
A$AP Twelvyy feat. Roc Marciano, “Adventure Time”
A$AP Mob artist A$AP Twelvyy is staying true to his crew’s brand of quality releases. The New York City rapper (who seldom disappoints) joins forces with underground legend Roc Marciano on the dreamy “Adventure Time.” The duo tackle their past and present here, as a silky sample loops in the background.
Lloyiso, “Give a Little Kindness”
Lloyiso is urging listeners to take a little time, get a little therapy and “give a little kindness to yourself.” The needed reminder is well-received, thanks to the South African singer’s compelling tone and catchy melodies. “Give A Little Kindness” is a cut from Lloyiso’s debut EP, Seasons, via Universal Music Group South Africa/Republic Records.
Lehla Samia, “Care”
CMG’s first lady of song is back with a poignant ballad, “Care.” Overtop glittery piano and wind chimes, the Delaware singer (discovered by way of TikTok) takes accountability for ignoring red flags, and asks the pressing questions she already knows the answer to: “Do you even care?”
New Summer Walker is on the way! While performing at Dreamville Festival over the weekend, the critically acclaimed R&B singer announced her new EP, Clear 2: Soft Life, will arrive on May 19 via LVRN and Interscope Records.

The project serves as the follow-up to 2019’s Clear, which featured four songs: “Riot,” “Grave,” “Wasted” and “Settling.” Clear arrived months before her debut studio album, Over It, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. At the time, it earned the biggest streaming week ever for an R&B album by a woman with 154.7 million on-demand audio streams for the LP’s songs, surpassing the debut week of Beyoncé’s Lemonade, which had 115.2 million.
“I just wanted to let you guys know that I have an EP dropping. May 19. Go to my website if you wanna pre-order it. It’s a little somethin’, somethin.’ Y’all ready for some new music?” she teased before being met with roaring applause. Later on in the weekend, she was caught shooting hoops at Dave & Buster’s with J. Cole, who headlined the festival alongside Drake, who watched her in awe as she won $440 “on accident,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
In an interview with Billboard, who gave Walker our Chartbreaker Award during Women in Music 2022, she talked about being “hella excited for Clear 2. The last one was like four songs. This one — I want it to be a lot longer so I can really get that sound out. That’s my favorite type of sound,” she said at the time. “I make what I got to make for the radio, but I’m very excited for [Clear 2]. Hopefully, my budget will be permitted. [If not], we got to protest.”

Cardi B looks to bring her laundry bag of hits, including Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers “Bodak Yellow,” “WAP,” “Up” and more. The Bronx dynamo will have a practice round when she headlines Rolling Loud Thailand April 13-15 along with Travis Scott and Chris Brown. In June 2022, Cardi B headlined Wireless Festival, and in December, she reportedly netted $1 million for a 35-minute set at Art Basel. “I got payed 1 million dollars to perform at this elite bankers private event for 400 people and only for 35 minutes,” she tweeted in response to a mocking her “backyard set.”
In addition to Cardi B, Hot 97 enlisted a phalanx of female upstarts to perform along with the touted superstar, including Ice Spice, GloRilla, Coi Leray and Lola Brooke. More New York representatives will also hit the stage at UBS Arena, notably French Montana, Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign. To commemorate 50 years of hip-hop, The LOX will lead the way.
Younger artists such as NLE Choppa, Kenzo B, 2Rare, Sha EK, McVert and TQ will perform at a pre-festival show hosted by Montana. According to the radio station, more acts will be announced later. Tickets go on sale Saturday (April 8) at 10 a.m., with presales starting today.
“HOT 97’s Summer Jam is a hip-hop staple, and we are excited to bring the most electric show of the summer back to New York for hip-hop’s 50th anniversary,” said Bradford Tobin, president, chief operating officer and general counsel in a press release.
“The show is all about bringing hip-hop’s biggest stars to the stage, and we are honored to have New York’s own Cardi B as our headliner this year,” added TT Torrez, multimedia personality and VP of artist and label Relations. “I am so proud of the strong female presence in our lineup, which represents women’s dominance over the airwaves this year.”

J. Cole and Drake showed Raleigh, North Carolina, why they’re at the top of their class on Sunday night (April 2) with an incredible close-out set at the 2023 Dreamville Festival.

For the first weekend in April, the Dreamville collective turned Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh into what felt like the biggest family cookout of the year, with over 100,000 fans being treated to various performances across the Rise and Shine stages. Jessie Reyez, Sean Paul, City Girls, Ari Lennox, Waka Flocka Flame, Burna Boy, Summer Walker (who announced her upcoming project CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP) and Usher tore down the house over the two-day event — but there was no questioning who people were really there to see.
J. Cole kicked off the main event at the Shine stage with an explosive rendition of the North Carolina anthem “Who Dat,” off his debut album 2011 Cole World: The Sideline Story, before going into a medley of hits from his decorated catalog. Fans erupted at each record that rang throughout the festival grounds, such as “9 5 . s o u t h,” “m y . l i f e,” “G.O.M.D.,” “Fire Squad,” “Power Trip,” “The London” and more.
Midway into his set, Cole called upon his Dreamville army, inviting JID, Lute, Cozz, Omen and Earthgang to join him on stage for electrifying renditions of “Under the Sun,” “Down Bad” and “Stick.” At one point, Cole even dipped into his nostalgic bag and saluted his Friday Night Lights era with a performance of “Villematic.”
Just when fans were getting situated with Cole’s amazing set, Drizzy Drake took the reins and brought the night to another level. The 6 God arrived with his fiery verse on Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE” before putting on his Nike sports gloves and running through his own medley of classic hits, such as “Over,” “Energy,” “Nonstop” and “Marvin’s Room.”
Fans tried to get a grip on Drizzy’s thrilling set, but the Toronto megastar brought out a heap of guests to keep the crowd guessing and continue the party well into the night. GloRilla got a chance to take the stage after missing her performance earlier in the day with a quick rendition of her hit single “F.N.F (Let’s Go)” and Lil Uzi Vert made time to hit the crowd with a two-song set of signature smashes “XO TOUR Llif3” and “Just Wanna Rock.”
The biggest special guest, though, was Lil Wayne, who shocked the crowd with his arrival during Drake’s run-through of their 2012 collaborative hit “The Motto.” Weezy F. Baby then took over to perform “Uproar” featuring Swizz Beatz and “A Milli,” which had the North Carolina faithful passionately recite every word.
Towards the tail end of the show, Drake promised he had one more surprise up his sleeve — which had fans pondering what else he could do to put a fitting cap on an already-amazing night. That question was answered by 21 Savage popping up on stage to help Drake perform “Knife Talk” and “Rich Flex.”
Before Drake gave Cole the stage back, he took a second to give his “brother” his flowers, as he asked the 100,000-plus guests to sing their hearts out to Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” Cole was taken aback by the moving gesture, as he looked on at the massive sea of people hitting their high notes in unison as a sign of appreciation for everything he’s done for them in his 16-year career.
The incredible night finally saw its end once J. Cole grabbed the mic to praise Drake, with the two of them embracing and sharing a hug. Cole then eventually loosened the grip he had on the night and sent fans home with a fireworks-filled rendition of his 2014 Forest Hills Drive standout, “No Role Modelz.”
Once the show was over, there was not one upset face in the crowd, as people were smiling from ear to ear — with many even calling Dreamville Festival one of “the best events of the year.”
