Ja Morant, currently under heavy scrutiny after being caught a second time on camera brandishing a gun, recently released his first signature sneaker with Nike in the Ja 1. A new report reveals that the Ja 1 sneaker was scrubbed from Nike’s app and site, although a new colorway is said to be in existence.
According to a report from Commercial Appeal, a Memphis news publication, the signature Ja Morant sneakers were removed from the Nike website and app, along with no longer being available on sports apparel company Finish Line’s website or app.

The outlet added that the new colorway of the Ja 1 sneakers, titled Hunger, is still available via the SNKRS and Hibbett Sports by way of a raffle. It isn’t known if Nike is backing out of its partnership with the Memphis Grizzlies superstar and unlike the first gun-flashing incident on March 4, the company has yet to make a statement.
This past Sunday, Morant was seen on a friend’s Instagram Live feed listening to Hip-Hop music and then brazenly flashing a gun similar to what occurred in March. During the 2023 Draft Lottery this past Tuesday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver expressed thoughts about  Morant’s recent troubles and thought that the electrifying playing was changing his ways.
Ja Morant issued a recent statement apologizing yet again for his actions. The Grizzlies suspended their star from all team activities as the league and team continue to investigate and handle the matter.

The Tom Sachs x Nike “General Purpose” sneakers were arguably some of last year’s most highly sought-after kicks. Still, after his erratic behavior at his offices was made public, Nike isn’t planning on continuing their collaboration with the controversial designer.

Complex is reporting that despite rumors that their next collaborative silhouette, the Mars Yard 3.0, was still slated to release sometime in the future, Nike has decided to pull the plug on the drop given the nature of the allegations made against Sachs.

From having swastikas taped onto first aid kits (Tom is Jewish) to have a space in the studio dubbed the “rape room,” Sachs seemed to take the whole “white privilege” thing to another level. The man is accused of attending virtual meetings with female employees in his underwear, for God’s sake.
Don’t Expect Those Nike Tom Sachs Mars Yard 3.0 Anytime Soon
Complex Reports:
“We’re deeply concerned by the very serious allegations,” a Nike spokesperson said that month. “We’re in contact with Tom and his studio seeking to better understand this situation and how these issues are being addressed.”
In the wake of the report from Curbed and others, the artist sent out a letter to his staff in March showing some contrition. Sachs described the “rape room” name as a regret, a “poor reference” that was done away with years ago. He said in the letter that he’d brought in outside help to formalize human resources policies at the studio.
“I have never tried to make anyone feel uncomfortable,” Sachs wrote. “I have never harassed anyone. I would never intentionally harm anyone. Safety is a top priority in the studio. Those are the facts.”
Tom Sach’s Employees Tell A Different Story
Apparently, employees disagree with Sachs’ version of the “facts” as the accusations paint a man who fears no repercussions for his actions, including his screaming and throwing objects at people in the workplace.
Though his relationship with Nike dates back to 2012 when the two collaborated on the hugely popular Mars Yard, the accusations are enough to put the highly-anticipated Mars Yard 3.0 on hold as Nike told Complex, “We are not working with Tom’s studio at this time and have no release dates planned.”

Before sneakerbots were the monster that that they are today, the 2012 release of the Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy had sneakerheads putting in that footwork and lining up and camping out in front of Foot Lockers across America in hopes of getting their hands on a pair of the coveted grails.

Now after almost 12 years of keeping the classic silhouette in the vault, Nike is set to bring back the Galaxy Foams and though the popularity of the Foamposites have basically fallen off a cliff, you can expect this to be as hard a copp as it was when it originally dropped more than a decade ago. Yesterday well-respected sneaker aficionado and news breaker @zsneakerheadz revealed that the colorway that took the Foamposite to a whole other level is set to return in 2024 and you can bet your bottom dollar that sneakerbotters are readying their merchandise eating algorithms as we speak for this highly-anciticipated release.

These. Go. Hard.

Knowing Nike these will more than likely be a part of a Foamposite reintroduction and we’ll probably see a few other classic Foamposite colorways return alongside these coveted kicks (probably not the Yeezy colorway though).
No word on when Nike is expected to release these but we wouldn’t be surprised if they saved these for the holiday season of 2024. Thanksgiving? Black Friday? Christmas? We don’t know but we do know that we’ll be trying to land a pair even if it means camping outside of Foot Locker old school style.

Devin Booker‘s been doing his thing in the NBA for the past eight years and finally the Phoenix Suns superstar guard is being recognized for his game and has been blessed to have his own signature sneaker line courtesy of Nike.

Well, that’s the rumor. According to Sneakerfiles, Nike is ready to bestow Booker with the crowning achievement of having his own signature sneaker after having him down with the company for the past few years. Apparently banking on the hopes that having Kevin Durant on the Suns will bring more exposure to Devin Booker on the global stage, Nike is gearing up for the drop of the Nike D Book 1 which as of now has a tentative release date of 2024.

Specific details on Devin Booker’s upcoming signature shoe (Nike D Book 1) have yet to leak. However, since he is a big fan of the Nike Kobe line, there is a strong possibility the shoes will be in low-top form. You can also expect the shoes to dawn his own logo.
We received confirmation from our sources of the release, which follows Ja Morant launching of his own model, the Ja 1, in 2023.
Should the Phoenix Suns actually go on to win the championship this year or next, Nike will have made a spectacular call by finally giving Devin Booker his own signature line at the perfect time. Whether or not D Book is able to move sneakers like a Kobe or Durant remains to be seen but should the model take inspiration from the Kobe Bryant line, it would bold well for him as NBA players love the feel and comfort of those particular silhouettes when they ball on the court.
Don’t expect Bad Bunny or Kendall Jenner to be rocking any D Book’s on their person once the sneakers see the light of day. Just sayin.’

Ben Affleck and Amazon Studios highly-anciticpated film, Air is a few weeks from hitting theaters across the board and to hype up the film’s release, Amazon will be embarking on a multi-city consumer experience to both promote the film and help people have a good time.

Variety is reporting that the studio will be teaming up with sneaker culture icon, Jason Markk to host said multi-city consumer tour promptly named “Fresh Air” which aims to bring sneakerheads together and celebrate the culture that’s been basically ruined by resellers, backdooring employees, and sneakerbots (yes, we salty over here). With the help of guerrilla teams, the “Fresh Air” teams are set to turn big time cities like New York, LA and Chicago into sneakerhead havens where we get to express our love of the sneaker culture while getting some sneaker products at the same time.

Related Stories

Free to the public, the “Fresh Air” activation allows attendees to celebrate self-expression through fashion as they share their sneaker stories while getting a complimentary shoe cleaning, with premium care products from Jason Markk and staff on site to offer advice on keeping their shoes in pristine condition. In addition to their freshly cleaned kicks, attendees will also walk away with an “Air” and Jason Markk sneaker duster bag.
If Amazon really loved us sneakerheads they’d give us chances to get out hands on some Air Jordan 1 “Lost and Found,”‘s. Lord knows Jeff Bezos can afford to lace the entire sneaker community with a pair from city to city. Just sayin.’
Still this is a pretty cool initiative as we’re sure sneakerheads will be putting their best laced foot forward when the “Fresh Air” team hits their hood in the coming weeks. Heck, they’ll even be posting up at Jason Markk’s flagship store in L.A. Should be interesting to see how this sneaker community promo tour plays out.
Are you looking forward to the “Fresh Air” team hitting your city? Will you be catching Air when it premiers on April 5th? Let us know in the comment section below.

Once again StockX is getting bad publicity out in the sneaker community as court documents have revealed that they once sold a single customer 38 pairs of fake Nike sneakers.

According to Nice Kicks, information about how StockX sold a gang of bootleg Nikes last year was unearthed in documents pertaining to Nike’s lawsuit against the reselling website. Apparently a sneaker collector/reseller purchased multiple pairs of sneakers from StockX and when Nike went to inspect the kicks he received, they confirmed that at least 38 pairs were counterfeit.

Related Stories

Luckily the customer in question was able to return the sneakers to StockX and got himself a full refund, something that some people on social media say was problematic when they’ve attempted to do the same.
StockX’s current Buyer Promise policy, last updated in November 2022, states that once “an order is created and we are unable to offer returns, exchanges, or swaps. You can always resell the item on our platform if you no longer wish to keep it.”
The reseller spoke to Sockjig, a well-known and respected voice in the sneaker space, about the pairs in question.
The reseller purchased multiple pairs of the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Mocha”; Air Jordan 1 High OG “University Blue”; and the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Hyper Royal” with 38 of them being fake, according to court documents.
The reseller purchased the colorways with the span of March and July 2022 as the market price dipped “with the intent of holding and flipping later,” Sockjig stated.
Yeah, that’s not a good look at all. Knowing that what’s left of their reputation is hanging on by the thinnest of threads, StockX responded to the claims of moving 38 bootleg pairs of kicks in an attempt to save some face.
“While we can’t comment on pending litigation, we are confident in our legal defenses and have continuously supplied appropriate information in a timely manner. We stand by our verification process as one of the first and best in the industry, and in 2022 alone, rejected more than 330K products worth nearly $100M.”
“StockX also has a Buyer Promise in place, which is central to our mission of offering a safe and secure marketplace for both buyers and sellers. If we make a mistake and incorrectly verify an item, we’re committed to making it right for our customers.”
Nike’s really dragging their reputation through the mud with the lawsuit, but once StockX stopped guaranteeing “Authenticity” it was a wrap for them out on these streets. Heads don’t even rock those StockX tags on their kicks out in the wild anymore (one of the few good things that came from this).

And to think all of this began because StockX began selling NFT’s of Nike sneakers without Nike’s approval. That in turn prompted the lawsuit and everything went downhill for StockX from there.
How this ends will be anyone’s guess, but StockX’s reputation may never recover from this debacle. Between this and having sold fake sneakers to undercover Nike representatives, heads are thinking twice about copping hype sneakers off the reselling website.
What do y’all think of the latest revelation to come from Nike’s lawsuit against StockX? Let us know in the comments section below.

Nike just did it.

Yesterday, the Swoosh brand announced that the newest member of their athletic family is the New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu. To accompany the news, Nike’s already showcasing her signature sneaker, the “Nike Sabrina 1.” Looking to appease all crowds, the “Nike Sabrina 1” and the apparel collection that will come along with it will be a unisex line. (Expect some MAGA outrage at some point over this.) And the sneakers actually look pretty cool.

Featuring the Nike React cushioning and Zoom Air unit in the forefoot, the sneakers insides were made to compliment the details on the outer silhouette.

Inspired by Ionescu’s national heritage, the intricate embroidery patterns on the Sabrina 1 forefoot and eye-stays pay homage to traditional Romanian art and architecture. The shoe’s design is highlighted by a dotted “i” that wraps around the top and bottom outsole of the shoe. The wraparound detail ends in a dotted “i” on the heel — a detail that pays respect to her last name.
On the medial side of the shoe, a vertically slanted Swoosh represents the barriers that Ionescu has broken throughout her career, and a hidden “Anyone, Anywhere” quote serves as reference to Ionescu’s unmatched competitive spirit as well as her belief that dreamers can come from anywhere.
As for the unisex apparel, you can expect to see some hoodies, tees, shorts and even a cross-body bag for the gym rats who want to roll in style.
The “Nike Sabrina 1” and apparel collection is set to drop later on this summer. Will you be checking for the collection? Let us know in the comments section below.
