Here Are Myke Towers’ ‘Lala’ Lyrics Translated Into English

Myke Tower‘s “LALA,” off his album La Vida Es Una, is the latest Spanish-language song to go viral on TikTok. With more than one million posts on the social media platform, the reggaetón-powered song took off on streaming services, including Spotify, where it became the No. 1 song on its Top 50 Global chart on Sunday (May 9).

Released in April, La Vida Es Una captured the Puerto Rican artist his third top 10 studio album on Billboard‘s Top Latin Albums chart. Meanwhile, “LALA” — which finds Myke Towers narrating a NSFW rendezvous with a lover — debuted at No. 25 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart and this week, it enters Hot Latin Songs at No. 50.

“I want to show my people that I’m in a new level of creating and I don’t want to keep in my comfort zone,” he explained to Billboard about La Vida Es Una. “Like, I always want to do new things. This album, some people are going to have to listen to it a couple of times to get used to it. People always think of me making only hip-hop or trap music or just like reggaeton, but in this one I want it to be different.”

Below, check out the “Lala” lyrics translated into English:

La-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la

Everything is good, you don’t have to stress
I will never leave you alone
I was hooked since the first time I saw her
I fell in love when I danced with her
She had been wanting to get close for a long time
Put her back against the wall
If I go down she knows what I’ll do

La-la-la-la-la-la
You want it mami (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Her eyes change (la-la-la-la-la-la)
I look at her and she licks her red lipstick (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Her waist is loose (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Baby, if I grab you (la-la-la-la-la-la)
I’ll take you to new heights (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Let me know and I’ll pick you up (la-la-la-la-la-la)

She let me drive
You’ll always know when I arrive to a place
I was crowned since I was little
It looks good on photo but in person even better
She took one too many drinks
After the red wine she took a pause
When she was going for her fifth
I took her cruising around the neighborhood in the KYMCO
When they see me up front, they become astonished

She does it alone
She’s already turning someone else on as this one burns down
She’s calling my attention because she wants me to do it

La-la-la-la-la-la
You want it mami (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Her eyes change (la-la-la-la-la-la)
I look at her and she licks her red lipstick (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Her waist is loose (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Baby, if I grab you (la-la-la-la-la-la)
I’ll take you to new heights (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Let me know and I’ll pick you up (la-la-la-la-la-la)

When something is for you, it’s inevitable
Baby, I know you want it
Let’s do as if there was no television or cable
Your gaze is to blame for
They’re looking at us, let’s go
She told me, “Don’t think about it to much and give it to me”
By the look on her face, you can tell she’s enjoying it
The neighbors are looking

I love it when you look mad
She fills my bullet cartridge
And even left the weapon in the living room
I was focused on

La-la-la-la-la-la
I’m your Carmelo and you’re my (la-la-la-la-la-la)
When I go down (la-la-la-la-la-la)
She always asks me (la-la-la-la-la-la)
I never stop (la-la-la-la-la-la)
She likes the (la-la-la-la-la-la)
I make her go crazy with (la-la-la-la-la-la)
She touches herself when (la-la-la-la-la-la)
Looking at her and doing (la-la-la-la-la-la)

I’m your Carmelo and you’re my
When I go down
She always asks me
I never stop
She likes the
I make her go crazy with
She touches herself when
Looking at her and doing

Nicki Minaj Rejected Several Songs She ‘Didn’t Love’ Before Choosing ‘Barbie World’ With Ice Spice

Of course, OG Barb Nicki Minaj was going to be a part of the new Barbie movie, but that doesn’t mean that she was going to hop on just any song that came her way. As she graced the pink carpet for the world premiere of Barbie on Sunday (July 9), Minaj spilled some tea about the process behind her and Ice Spice’s collaboration for the film’s soundtrack.

“There were a couple songs that I didn’t love,” Minaj revealed to Entertainment Tonight. “This ‘Barbie’ sample, I loved it. I just wanted it to have a dope drum, and so the one that they sent me, I loved! And I jumped on it right away.” The song in question was “Barbie World,” a collaboration with New York rapper Ice Spice that featured production contributions from RiotUSA and a sample of AQUA’s seminal “Barbie Girl.”

The rapper also called her inclusion in the project a “very full circle moment.” “I’ve been saying ‘Barbie’ my whole career,” she told ET.

“Barbie World” is currently the highest charting song from the Barbie soundtrack. The song debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Minaj’s 23rd top 10 hit and Ice Spice’s fourth. The soundtrack single also marks the second collaboration between the two artists; the pair linked up earlier this year for a remix of Ice’s “Princess Diana,” which peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100.

In addition to Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice, the soundtrack for the Greta Gerwig-helmed film also boasts a slew of pop music’s biggest and brightest stars. Executive produced by Grammy and Oscar winner Mark Ronson, Barbie The Album is set to feature contributions from Dua Lipa, Ryan Gosling, Billie Eilish, Karol G, Lizzo, Khalid, Gayle, Fifty Fifty, Kaliii, Haim, Tame Impala, Charli XCX and more.

'Black Panther' Game From EA/Cliffhanger Games Confirmed

Source: EA/ Cliffhanger Games / Black Panther

It’s official, de Bleck Pantha is getting his own standalone video game.

Wakanda Forever!

On the heels of the 57th anniversary of the Black Panther’s Marvel Comics’ debut, Monday, July 10, Cliffhanger Games, a new studio, is working on a third-person video game for the iconic superhero.

Reports of T’Challa’s standalone video game adventure first hit the internet in July 2022. Now we know the new triple-A development studio based in Seattle is up to delivering a Black Panther video game that will hopefully be up in the ranks with other Marvel video games like Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and criminally slept on Guardians of The Galaxy.

Per Marvel, the studio’s mission “is to build an expansive and reactive world that empowers players to experience what it is like to take on the mantle of Wakanda’s protector, the Black Panther.”

Development on the game will be led by Kevin Stephens (Monolith Productions), with a team full of talent who worked on popular titles like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Halo InfiniteGod of WarCall of Duty, and others.

“We’re dedicated to delivering fans a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game. Wakanda is a rich Super Hero sandbox, and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do,” said Stephens.

Cliffhanger Games & Marvel Are Working Closely Together On Black Panther

When it comes to comic book IP, fans are demanding to please because they expect either the movies, original series, or games to meet the standards of the comics.

Smith ensures they will hit that mark, confirming Cliffhanger Games and Marvel have been working closely together on the game, stating “to ensure that we craft every aspect of Wakanda, its technology, its heroes, and our own original story with the attention to detail and authenticity that the world of Black Panther deserves.”

He continues, “It’s an incredibly rare opportunity to build a new team around the values of diversity, collaboration, and empowerment,” said Kevin. “We want our game to enable players to feel what it’s like to be worthy of the Black Panther mantle in unique, story-driven ways, and we want Cliffhanger Games to empower everyone on our team as we collaborate to bring this amazing world to life.”

Reception To The News

Unsurprisingly, fans are happy to hear about Black Panther officially getting a video game. Take that superhero fatigue. We got a taste of what it’s like to control King T’Challa in Crystal Dynamic’s disappointing Marvel’s Avengers in a well-received War For Wakanda expansion.

There is also the news of the mysterious Captain America and Black Panther video game.

If we have any concerns, we want to see all of the Black and Brown video game development talent working on this title, and it’s only fitting. Now when it comes to that, the pickings are slim. We know that we are not naive, but they are out there, and to see concerted effort would be very much appreciated.

So far, it looks like Cliffhanger Games is on the right track. Jercye Dianingana, a 3D Senior Environment Artist II at Cliffhanger Games, was happy to reveal he was working on the Black Panther game.

We love to see it because we are rooting for everyone Black. ALWAYS!

Watch Cardi B Twerk in a Bubble Bath & in Front of the Eiffel Tower to ‘Point Me 2’ Remix

No matter where she is in the world, Cardi B will be Cardi B. With a new Instagram video, the rapper shared a compilation of clips showing off her twerking skills in different locations — including none other than the Eiffel Tower in Paris … and her bubble bath.

In the first clip, Cardi B excitedly finds a spot in front of the famous Paris landmark, looking exceptionally casual in a white bathrobe and slippers as she proceeds to throw it back for the camera. In another clip, she squats and twerks in front of her luxurious bed; in another, she wears next to nothing while sensually shaking her stuff in a bubble bath.

“SHE PLAYIN WAP , SHE THROWIN CAT IN THE UBER BLACK !!!…… by the way that’s my bedroom,” Cardi captioned the Saturday (July 8) video, using lyrics from her new “Point Me 2” remix with FendiDa Rapper.

Offset chimed in with a slew of heart-eye emojis in the comment section, further proving to fans that all is well with the couple following the Migos rapper’s recent accusation that Cardi had cheated on him. The pair also seemed to be on good terms at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, cozying up for photos at the Balenciaga runway show.

Prior to PFW, though, Offset sent the rumor mill into a tailspin by alleging on his Instagram Story that his wife had been intimate with another man. But Cardi almost immediately shut it down, saying on Twitter Spaces that a discrete affair would have been implausible in the first place given how famous she is.

“So please boy, stop acting stupid,” she’d added, addressing Offset directly. “Stop acting stupid. Going crazy over a f–king space. Don’t play with me. What the f–k. Stop playing. That’s all I’m gonna motherf–king say.”

Taylor Swift’s ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ Instantly Smashes Two Spotify Records

In the midst of her sold-out Eras Tour, Taylor Swift is making plenty of news off stage as well. On Monday (July 10), Spotify announced that the day the singer released her Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) album she made some history on the streaming service.

According to Spotify, the reimagining of Swift’s 2010 album became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2023 so far when it dropped on Friday. The collection that includes the 16 songs from the original and deluxe versions as well as six never-before-heard From the Vault tracks also set another Spotify high-water mark.

The Taylor’s Version of the album featuring such fan favorites as “Dear John,” “Mean,” “Enchanted” and “Back to December” also notched a Spotify record for the most-streamed country album in a single day in Spotify history.

The news came just a few days after Swift had a Speak Now lyrical snafu during the her Eras Tour gig at Kansas City, MO’s Geha Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday. During the nightly acoustic section of her career-retrospective show, Swift forgot the words to the album track “Last Kiss” not just one time, but twice.

After singing the first two lines of the opening verse, Swift accidentally jumped ahead to the “July ninth” portion of the second verse before pausing to fess up to her mistake. “Oh my God, the words… We have this rule on this tour where if I mess up a song that I have to play it again some other time on the tour so that I can avenge myself,” she explained to the crowd. “I got too excited, I got too excited. Will you allow me the honor of starting over?”

Then, after restarting and getting through the first three lines with no issues, she stopped once more after worrying that she’d done it again. “Oh my God! No, those are the right lyrics,” Swift said, repeating the opening lines. “I swear that I will not mess this up again! Oh my God! This one, I love this one. Why am I doing this to this song?”

Swift moves on to a pair of shows (July 14-15) at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High next weekend.

Travis Scott Announces ‘Utopia’ Livestream Show Happening at the Pyramids of Giza

Travis Scott is back. The “Pick Up the Phone” rapper is set to launch Utopia, his first studio album in nearly five years, at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. He announced the livestream event through social media posts across Instagram and Twitter on Sunday (July 9).

“Utopia is wherever you are,” he wrote in one of the announcements. The livestream is set to take place July 28 at 9 p.m. Tickets for the in-person event are already sold out.

Scott has remained relatively mum about the details of the show, but in the midst of directing fans to links through which they could purchase tickets, he tweeted “Can’t waitttt to see ya.” On Twitter, just minutes before he officially announced the Giza Pyramids event, Scott tweeted, “Damnnnnnnn I misss y’all,” followed by a relatively uncharacteristic keyboard smash. Both tweets served as Scott’s first major activity on the platform since November.

Utopia will serve as the follow-up to Astroworld, Scott’s third studio album, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 and spawned several Billboard Hot 100 hits such as “Sicko Mode” (No. 1), “Stargazing” (No. 8), and “Carousel” (No. 24). Although Scott has appeared as a featured artist on a slew of recent singles — including tracks from the likes of Pharrell Williams (“Down in Atlanta”) and SZA (“Open Arms”) — his last completely unaccompanied singles arrived in 2021. A pair of songs titled “Escape Plan” and “Mafia” were overshadowed by the devastating Astroworld Festival crowd crush that killed 10 people during Scott’s performance. Scott founded the music event in 2018 in his hometown of Houston. On June 29, a Texas grand jury decided against indicting Scott for any crimes related to the fatal crowd crush.

Drake Confirms New Collaboration With Nicki Minaj: ‘I Got a Lot of Love for Her’

“I’m gonna give away one thing for you tonight, because I got a lot of love for Detroit,” he said while on stage. “So I’m gonna have to tell you that me and Nicki Minaj did our first song together in, like, a really long time. I got a lot of love for her.”

The pair last reunited on Minaj’s 2021 track “Seeing Green,” which also features Lil Wayne. Months prior, when Drake released his album Certified Lover Boy, he sampled the Queens rapper midway through his song “Papi’s Home.”

Despite the occasional rift in their friendship over the years, Drake and Minaj’s chemistry in the studio remains unrivaled. Their collaborations date back to Drake’s “Up All Night” and “I’m So Proud of You,” to Minaj’s “Moment 4 Life” and “Truffle Butter.” In regards to For All the Dogs, details for the release date have been sparse, though Drake acknowledged last week during his tour stop in Chicago that the album was coming “soon.”

For All the Dogs will follow Drake’s previous albums 2022’s Honestly, Nevermind, and 2021’s Certified Lover Boy, continuing his prolific output over the last few years. “I look around at all these faces, I know it’s summertime, I gotta give you s–t!” he told fans during his Chicago tour stop. I don’t know about these guys that go away three, four, five years and wanna chill out and all that s–t. That’s not me.”

Dua Lipa Stuns in NSFW Look on the ‘Barbie’ Red Carpet: See It

Dua Lipa rolled up to the Barbie world premiere in a dress you definitely wouldn’t see any Mattel doll wearing in the toy aisle.

The 27-year-old pop star, who plays Mermaid Barbie in the highly anticipated Greta Gerwig flick, looked stunning in a sheer, metallic silver gown on the pink carpet at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall Sunday (July 9). Underneath, she wore … well, not much. Other than a pair of white undies, Lipa was bare from chest down.

The “Levitating” singer also shared photos and videos from the event on her Instagram, giving fans allll the angles of the NSFW look. “?BARBIE PREMIERE? LOS ANGELES ? @barbiethemovie @barbiethealbum ?,” wrote Lipa, who contributed an original song called “Dance the Night” to the Barbie soundtrack.

Also on the pink carpet Sunday were fellow soundtrack contributors Nicki Minaj, Ava Max, HAIM and Billie Eilish — the latest musician to join the project with upcoming single “What Was I Made For.” And of course, the film’s main stars Margot Robbie, who plays Barbie, and Ryan Gosling, aka leading man Ken, were present as well, with Robbie decked out in a glamorous vintage look replicated from a real 1960s Barbie doll.

Eilish is also one of several stars lined up to guest on Lipa’s podcast Dua Lipa: At Your Service this year, with BLACKPINK’s Jennie Kim, You star Penn Badgley and drag superstar Sasha Velour also set to make appearances. “I have had the privilege of learning from so many incredible individuals and sharing their remarkable stories over the course of the first two seasons of At Your Service,” Lipa said of the podcast’s third season in a recent press statement. “We’re taking the same approach with season three, while also diving deeper into specific themes tailored to each guest.

Billie Eilish Weighs in On Fans Throwing Objects at Artists on Stage: ‘People Just Get Excited and It Can Be Dangerous’

Another weekend, another hail of objects hurled at artists on stage. In the concerning trend of fans heaving objects at performers during concerts, Harry Styles and Drake became the latest acts to get some unwanted action from the front section when they were hit with projectiles in the middle of their recent shows.

Billie Eilish knows a thing or two about being pelted and speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet at the world premiere of Barbie on Sunday (July 9) in Los Angeles, the singer said she gets the impulse behind the action, but that it’s definitely not cool.

“I’ve been getting hit on stage with things for like, literally, six years, I don’t know why this is like new,” said Eilish, who contributed the song “What Was I Made For?” to the Greta Gerwig-directed film’s soundtrack. “People just get excited and it can be dangerous.”

Brother and collaborator Finneas added that he thinks fans aren’t always trying to land a direct hit on the act when they throw, say, a sex toy on stage — as was the case recently at a Lil Nas X show, where the rapper reacted with a joke when a fan launched an anatomical bedroom aid at him during his Lollapalooza Stockholm set. And it’s not like they’re going all 19th century and hurling tomatoes and rotting fruit at performers, he noted.

Billie said it’s mostly smart phones being pitched in an effort to get a selfie. Either way, she said, “it’s absolutely infuriating when you’re up there. I have mixed feelings about it, because when you’re up there it blows. But you know it’s out of love and they’re just trying to give you something. You’re in a vulnerable position, but I’ve been getting hit with stuff for like years.”

Whatever the purpose, Finneas looked dead into the THR cameras with a very important message: cut it out. “Don’t do it — we get it, but don’t do it,” he said, with Billie backing him up. “Don’t throw things on stage, but we love you; it’s very sweet,” she said.

The siblings weighed in following a rash of recent incidents in which overzealous fans have been breaching the stage with foreign objects. In addition to Styles getting hit in the face with something on Saturday during his Vienna show and Drake taking a cell phone to the arm last Wednesday during the Chicago kick-off of his tour with 21 Savage, several other stars have suffered similar fates lately.

Bebe Rexha was hit in the face by a phone during a New York show, while Kelsea Ballerini was struck with a bracelet, with both acts leaving the stage briefly following the incidents; Rexha was taken to the hospital after her June 18 phone episode, which opened up a cut above her eye.

Watch Eilish and Finneas discuss concert etiquette below (begins around 2:10 mark).
