Metro Boomin Celebrates ‘Back2Back’ Billboard 200 No. 1 Albums With His & Future’s ‘We Don’t Trust You’ & ‘We Still Don’t Trust You’

You know who Metro Boomin actually trusts? His fans who listened to his and Future‘s albums We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, both of which recently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

“back2back #1 albums, thanks to everyone for listening! #wetrustyou,” he wrote on Instagram Monday (April 22) underneath still shots of him and Pluto as well as him and The Weeknd from the “We Still Don’t Trust You” music video. The album’s title track debuted at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated April 27), leading the 13 other tracks that entered the all-genre songs tally that can be found in this graphic.

We Don’t Trust You debuted atop the all-genre albums tally three weeks ago (dated April 6), with 251,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending March 28, according to Luminate. Meanwhile, We Still Don’t Trust You topped the chart this week, with 127,500 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending April 18. The albums mark Metro’s fourth and fifth No. 1 albums and Future’s ninth and 10th No. 1 albums.

The three-week gap between both chart-topping sets marks the shortest gap between new No. 1s by an artist since Future replaced himself at No. 1 in 2017 in successive weeks with his self-titled album (March 11, 2017, chart) and HNDRXX (March 18, 2017), both of which debuted at No. 1. Future also now ties Elvis Presley and Eminem for the fifth-most No. 1 albums and is in fourth place among rappers, after Jay-Z (14), Drake (13) and Ye (11).

2024 ACM Radio Award Winners Announced

The Academy of Country Music revealed the winners of the 2024 ACM Radio Awards on Monday (April 22). There are ties in two categories (major market on-air personality of the year and medium market radio station of the year) and multiple first-time honorees.

B-Dub of B-Dub Radio Saturday Night receives his second ACM Award for national weekly on-air personality of the year, while Steve, Ben and Nikki of Steve, Ben and Nikki took home their second award for small market on-air personality of the year.

In the radio station categories, WXTU in Philadelphia took home its second win for major market radio station of the year, and WUBE in Cincinnati, Ohio took home its fourth win for large market radio station of the year.

The announcement was made with the help of numerous artists, including Danielle Bradbery, BRELAND, Ashley Cooke, Russell Dickerson, Lady A, Ashley McBryde, Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney, Conner Smith, and Tigirlily Gold.

The announcements were made ahead of the 59th ACM Awards, which are set for Thursday, May 16 at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Tex. streaming exclusively on Amazon’s Prime Video.

The show is produced by Dick Clark Productions. Raj Kapoor is executive producer and showrunner, with Patrick Menton as co-executive producer. It’s Official: Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ Is a Diamond-Certified Record

Rihanna‘s 2012 smash “Diamonds” is staying true to its title 12 years later by earning diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on Monday (April 22).

Roc Nation officially announced the news via X on Monday morning, revealing that the single has accumulated 10 million equivalent song units. According to the RIAA, one equivalent song unit is equal to a single digital song sale, or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams. This is Rihanna’s third song to achieve diamond status, following her 2010 “Love the Way You Lie” collaboration with Eminem (certified on May 9, 2013) and her 2011 “We Found Love” collaboration with Calvin Harris (certified on April 27, 2023).

Rihanna released “Diamonds” as the lead single from her 2012 seventh studio album Unapologetic, which was nominated for the best urban contemporary album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. It earned RiRi her 12th No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, where it spent three weeks on top of the chart. The song also topped Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs (1 week), Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (14 weeks) and Rhythmic Airplay charts (10 weeks).

She embarked on the Diamonds World Tour in support of Unapologetic, which she announced after opening the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards alongside her current partner A$AP Rocky, with whom she shares two sons RZA and Riot Rose Mayers. She reflected on their performance in her recent Interview cover story. “He grabbed my a– … So when he grabbed my a– that night, everybody thought I was about to … My team was worried that I wanted to have his head on a f–king mantle,” she said. “But I was like, ‘Ah, nah.’ That’s why everybody was like, ‘Oh my god. Coolest Pop Song of the Week: Rachel Chinouriri, “It Is What It Is”



Whether you’ve caught wind of Rachel Chinouriri through her TikTok-viral lullaby “So My Darling” or her blog-approved confection “All I Ever Asked,” the singer-songwriter has established herself as a must-follow for any pop fan looking for potential new stars. The London native has charmed festival audiences, and opened on Lewis Capaldi’s tour after sending the hitmaker a drunk DM; she possesses the ability to apply her vocal lilt to dance-friendly sprints like her 2022 single “I’m Not Perfect (But I’m Trying),” as well as jazzy nod-alongs like this year’s “What a Devastating Turn of Events,” which doubles as the title for her upcoming debut album.

There’s a lot to like about Chinouriri ahead of that project, due out May 3, and now new single “It Is What It Is” can be added to the list. As the whistle hook and bass creep are introduced on the track, two of Chinouriri’s friends caution her against reaching out to a dude — “No, no, NO, Rachel!” — in voice-note form, setting up the conversational tone and emotional exhaustion she adopts on the song’s verses. The way Chinouriri talks through her knotted-up feelings about an imperfect relationship, then pauses to drop a pristine chorus, is reminiscent of how The Streets’ Mike Skinner constructed his best songs two decades ago. This is storytelling and pop craft at a high level.

What a Devastating Turn of Events contains more moments that showcase Chinouriri’s talent and ambition, but “It Is What It Is,” arriving two weeks ahead of the album, makes for a strong introduction to her appeal for unfamiliar listeners.

Since December 2022, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer has remained largely out of the public eye due to her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder known for causing uncontrolled muscle spasms that make it hard to move. Dion was forced to postpone all of her 2023 tour dates, before ultimately canceling the rest of her tour entirely. Last December, her sister Claudette revealed that Celine had “no control” of her muscles.

Dion made a surprise appearance at the 2024 Grammy Awards in February, presenting the coveted album of the year tropy to Taylor Swift for Midnights. “Thank you all,” she said to the applauding crowd, showing no signs of weakness. “I love you right back. Artemas’s “I Like the Way You Kiss Me” rises to No. 1 the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart and Hozier’s “Too Sweet” ascends to the top of the Billboard Global 200, marking each act’s first leader on each respective ranking.

Plus, FloyyMenor and Cris Mj’s “Gata Only” reaches the top five of both charts and Sabrina Carpenter earns her first Global 200 top 10 as “Espresso” debuts at No. 10.

The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, which began in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the United States.

Artemas’ first Billboard Global Excl. U.S. hit, “I Like the Way You Kiss Me,” rises to No. 1, from No. 2, with 65.9 million streams (up 15%) and 3,000 sold (up 45%) outside the U.S., boosted by the April 12 premiere of its official video, in the week ending April 18.

The breakthrough hit for the English-Cypriot artist, released on Artemas/10K Projects, has been used in nearly 2 million clips on TikTok, where he teased the song prior to its March 19 release.

Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” drops to No. 2 after eight nonconsecutive weeks atop the Global Excl. U.S. chart; ILLIT’s “Magnetic” holds at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; FloyyMenor and Cris Mj’s “Gata Only” advances 6-4, becoming the first top five hit on the chart for both Chilean artists; and Hozier’s “Too Sweet” bumps 7-5, likewise marking his first top five entry since the list began.

Hozier ‘Sweet’-ens Top of Global 200

Hozier’s “Too Sweet” climbs to No. 1, from No. 2, on the Billboard Global 200, with 76.1 million streams (up 7%) and 9,000 sold (down 4%) worldwide April 12-18.

The singer-songwriter is the first Irish act to top the Global 200. “Too Sweet,” released on Rubyworks/Columbia Records, was first widely heard via a teaser snippet during his March 6 appearance on the How Long Gone podcast, ahead of its proper release March 22 on his four-track EP Unheard.

Artemas’ “I Like the Way You Kiss Me” climbs 3-2 for a new Global 200 high; Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” retreats to No. 3 following seven nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1; FloyyMenor and Cris Mj’s “Gata Only” charges 10-4, becoming the first top five hit on the tally for both acts (up 26% to 75 million streams worldwide); and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” lifts 7-5, after hitting No. 4.

Tems Announces ‘Love Me Jeje’ Single After Debuting It at Coachella

Tems announced her new single “Love Me Jeje” on Monday (April 22), and it’s arriving sooner than you think.

“Love Me Jeje” will be available Friday, April 26. She performed it for the first time during weekend one of Coachella, where she coached the crowd through the “Love me jeje, love me tender” chorus.

Nigerian singer-songwriter Seyi Sodimu — who released his hit “Love Me Jeje” featuring Shafy Bello in 1997 — shared a video of Tems performing her song at Coachella on Instagram last week. “This made my day. The beautiful thing about music is that it transcends generations and connects us through time. Shoutout to Tems and her team, and congrats on a wonderful Coachella performance,” he wrote.

During her weekend one Coachella set, Tems had another surprise up her sleeve: She brought out Wizkid and Justin Bieber to perform their Billboard Hot 100 No. 9 smash “Essence.”

“Love Me Jeje” is the first single to be released after the Nigerian singer-songwriter-producer announced her debut album, Born in the World, would arrive in May. She released two singles at the end of last year, “Me & U” and “Not an Angel,” which both reached No. 3 on Billboard‘s U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart. She performed “Not an Angel” for the first time at Billboard Women in Music in March. Tems also received the Breakthrough Award from Savannah James.

“One thing that’s uniquely special to me is that I’m in a room full of amazing women and I’m standing with a continent behind me, I’m standing with the people behind me, and it makes me feel like I’m part of something just being in this room,” Tems said in her speech.

Nicki Minaj Deflects a Bracelet Hurled on Stage by a Fan & Throws It Right Back: Watch

There’s been an alarming trend rising in music concerts: Fans feeling bold enough to throw items on stage while artists are performing. Nicki Minaj was one of the latest victims while she was on stage during the Pink Friday 2 World Tour stop in Detroit on Saturday (April 20).

In the midst of performing her “Starships” anthem, Minaj tracked a bracelet hurling in her direction from the audience. She showcased some athletic ability like an NFL cornerback, and put her hand-eye coordination to use to swat the accessory aside.

The object thrown at the Queens icon clearly annoyed her. She picked it up and wound up like a baseball pitcher before fiercely launching it back where it came from into the audience.

However, she didn’t let the incident take away from her fun throughout the concert. “#GagCityDetroit what was your fave part of the show last night? Your energy was so beautiful,” she wrote on X following the show. “Loud, Happy, Fly, Pretty, SEXY, etc. just GREAT energy that I’ll never forget.”

Drake is one of the many rappers that has had to deal with fans throwing things on stage. Last year, during a Detroit show while out on his It’s All A Blur Tour, women were throwing bras among other items on stage.

“This not what we wanna see, a big-a– shoe. This what I need you to do, Detroit, this what I need to you do, please, for me. I’m so grateful to be back in this building with you after all this time that we had to sit in the crib, right,” he said. “Please stop throwing bras up here, I can’t — I feel like I’m on clean-up duty tonight … T–ty clean-up duty. This is crazy.”

Minaj continues with her Pink Friday 2 World Tour this week with a pair of Chicago shows and a Minneapolis date. On the music side, she delivered the star-studded “FTCU (Sleeze Mix)” featuring Travis Scott, Chris Brown and Sexyy Red on Friday (April 19).
