Selena Gomez Shares Hilarious Throwback Photo of Her Serious Bedhead

Selena Gomez is giving fans another look at her unfiltered self — this time, in a throwback photo with one of her closest friends. The Only Murders in the Building actress shared a photo with her “bestie” Connar Franklin when they were experiencing severe bedhead as tweens.

“What do we do during our sleep that this is the result?” Gomez captioned a photo of her and Franklin, much younger and giving a deadpan look into the camera while wearing matching wolf T-shirts. “I thought I never moved.. love you bestie,” the singer added.

While fans praised the singer for sharing a stripped-back and funny, unfiltered photo, Franklin chimed in the comments section to write, “love you [crying emojis] serving some looks lol — the shirts are getting me.” Hulu’s official Instagram account also chimed in, writing, “if you don’t own at least one wolf shirt, we can’t be friends.”

The laidback photo is far from the first that fans have seen of Gomez in recent months. In February, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer was praised for sharing a set of makeup-free photos, also to her Instagram. “Finally a celebrity who shows herself without filters or masks of make up and she is truly beautiful, in a way than could help people ([especially] girls) on understanding that we don’t need so many tricks to appear at our best,” a Selenator wrote at the time. “The most important thing is just being yourself and be proud on presenting you as you are.”

Fred Jerkins & Bishop Paul S. Morton’s ‘I Believe’ Hits No. 1 on Gospel Airplay Chart

Singer-songwriter and producer Fred Jerkins’ “I Believe,” featuring Bishop Paul S. Morton, reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart (dated April 15).

The song, Jerkins’ third Gospel Airplay leader and Morton’s first, increased by 1% in plays March 31-April 6, according to Luminate.

The song was solely written and produced by Jerkins, who hails from Galloway, N.J.

“It feels so amazing to have achieved my third No. 1 as an artist on Billboard‘s chart,” says Jerkins. “Also, being able to share this with a legend like Bishop Paul Morton makes it extra special for me.”

Jerkins previously topped Gospel Airplay with “Patiently Praising,” for a week in January 2021, and “Victory,” featuring Last Call, for two frames in April 2019.

Morton’s first Gospel Airplay leader is among 11 appearances, starting in 2005. His lone additional top 10 is “Your Best Days Yet,” which reached No. 4 in 2013. (Also among his history on the chart: “Seasons Change,” with legend Aretha Franklin, hit No. 40 in 2005.)

In addition to his career in music, Morton is the founding bishop of Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International in Atlanta, as well as overseer of Greater St. Stephen Ministries in New Orleans.

Notably, with “I Believe” reaching the Gospel Airplay pinnacle in its 47th week, it completes the longest trip to No. 1 since the chart started in March 2005. It passes two songs that each took 46 weeks to the top: Jonathan McReynolds’ “Make Room” led for a week in December 2019 and Donnie McClurkin’s “I Need You” reigned for a week in April 2017.

Maher’s Fourth Leader

On Billboard’s Christian AC Airplay chart, Matt Maher scores his fourth No. 1 with “The Lord’s Prayer” (up 9% in plays).

Maher previously ruled with “Alive & Breathing,” featuring Elle Limebear, for two weeks in July 2020; “Glory (Let There Be Peace),” for a week in January 2017; and “Because He Lives (Amen),” for four frames beginning in April 2015.

Kelly Clarkson Takes Van Morrison’s ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ for a Spin in Kellyoke Cover

A Kellyoke first! Kelly Clarkson opened up the Tuesday (April 11) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show with her signature karaoke segment and gave one of Van Morrison‘s signature tracks a try for the first time, going with the Northern Irish singer’s top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hit “Brown Eyed Girl.”

Backed by her band Y’all, Clarkson kept her vocal delivery for the track relaxed and joyful and wore a breezy purple floral dress for the occasion.

“Hey, where did we go?/ Days when the rains came/ Down in the hollow/ Playin’ a new game/ Laughin’ and a-runnin’, hey, hey/ Skippin’ and a-jumpin’/ In the misty morning fog with/ Our, our hearts a-thumping and you/ My brown-eyed girl/ And you, my brown-eyed girl,” the American Idol alum effortlessly sings on the track.

“Brown Eyed Girl” serves as Morrison’s solo debut track shortly after his band Them broke up in 1966. The track was released in 1967 and later became Morrison’s first track to debut on the Hot 100 that same year, peaking at No. 10. The track marks the singer’s second-highest-charting song on the Hot 100; Morrison’s “Domino” placed one spot higher on the Hot 100 in 1970.

Ariana Grande Addresses Body-Shaming Trolls: ‘There Are Many Different Kinds of Beautiful’

Ariana Grande hopped on social media Tuesday (April 11) to call out the body shaming she’s been receiving lately from fans.

“I don’t do this often. I don’t like it, I’m not good at it,” she said directly to the camera on TikTok. “But I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body, and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to.

“I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies — no matter what,” the star continued. “If you think you’re saying something good or well-intentioned, whatever it is. Healthy, unhealthy, big, small, this, that, sexy, not sexy, I don’t… We just shouldn’t. We should really work towards not doing that as much.”

Grande then went on to school the masses on the fact that there are better ways to compliment someone than by focusing solely on their physical appearance. Or better yet, that people can choose to refrain from criticizing others’ bodies altogether.

“But I also just wanted to say one, there are many different kinds of beautiful,” she then stated. “There are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful. I know personally for me, the body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of anti-depressants, and drinking on them and eating poorly, and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my ‘healthy.’ But that, in fact, wasn’t my healthy. I know I shouldn’t have to explain that, but I do feel like maybe having an openness and some sort of vulnerability here, something good might come from it.”

Grande is currently hard at work filming the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Wicked, which she noted in a social post earlier this month is now halfway complete.

Gwen Stefani Welcomes Six Kittens to Her Family: ‘Such an Incredible Experience’

Gwen Stefani took to social media on Tuesday (April 11) to show off a half-dozen sweet new additions to her family.

“Our cat had 6 sweet kittens this morning and we were all there to watch,” the pop star tweeted alongside a video of the baby animals. “It was such an incredible experience !! they r sooo cute.” (Stefani’s poor dog Betty, meanwhile, doesn’t seem to know what to make of all the meowing new additions as they snuggle up to nurse on their mom.)

Animal-loving fans flooded the singer’s replies with positivity and well-wishes for the kittens, with one tweeting, “Congratulations they are so beautiful omg how lucky of them to be welcomed in your family,” followed by three sparkling red heart emojis. Another was more concerned about Blake Shelton’s reaction, joking, “One cat has to be called blake or blake will be pissed ! Just saying.”

Speaking of Shelton, he’s been busy with his final season on The Voice while Stefani tapped out of season 23 to be replaced by returning coach Kelly Clarkson and newcomers Niall Horan and Chance The Rapper.

The fact that the current season is the country singer’s last has been much discussed and used to his advantage when recruiting hopeful singers to Team Blake, and was even lampooned in a hysterical fake biopic on The Voice titled One Last Ride: Blake Shelton’s Final Season, with Horan turning out a pitch-perfect impersonation of the OG coach.

Stefani, meanwhile, recently hit the stage for the very first time at the CMT Music Awards by performing a genre-twisting duet of No Doubt’s classic “Just a Girl” with Carly Pearce.

Every Musician Who’s Spoken About Anheuser-Busch’s Trans-Inclusive Campaign: Kid Rock, Jason Isbell & More

As right-wing legislative attacks against queer and trans people continue to skyrocket around the country, some conservatives seem to only be talking about one thing as of late: Bud Light.

On April 1, transgender TikTok star and social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney shared a video of herself participating in Bud Light’s Easy Carry Contest for the end of March Madness, revealing that the company helped her celebrate her “365th day of womanhood” with “possibly the best gift ever” — a commemorative can of Bud Light with Mulvaney’s face emblazoned on the side.

While Anheuser-Busch (the company that makes Bud Light) told Billboard in a statement that the commemorative cans bearing Mulvaney’s face are “not for sale,” that didn’t stop right-wing commentators from causing an uproar online, saying that the brand shouldn’t be promoting transgender “ideologies.” Some even said that they would be “boycotting” the companies many products, which include Budweiser, Busch, Stella Artois, Michelob Ultra, Hoegarden and others.

Some of those who spoke out included celebrities such as Kid Rock and Travis Tritt, who promised that they would be cutting all ties with the brand from that point forward. Other artists, including Jason Isbell and Zach Bryan, defended the brand against the online backlash, pointing out the importance of diversity. Even shock jock Howard Stern weighed in on the issue, saying he was “dumbfounded by why someone would care so much” about a trans person acting as a spokesperson for the beer brand.

The “Need to Know” singer took to Twitter on Tuesday (April 11) to reply to a fan who noticed her missing checkmark, telling the star that “it’s over” for her. In response, Doja wrote, “Only fans have blue ticks.”

She followed up with another, more direct thought. “Having a blue tick now means theres a higher chance that you’re a complete loser and that you’re desperate for validation from famous people,” she tweeted.

Twitter’s blue check mark was originally given to companies, celebrities, government entities and journalists verified by the platform to avoid fraudulent accounts impersonating public figures. The platform, now owned by Elon Musk, now offers blue checks to those willing to pay $8 a month in addition to features that “offer subscribers a way to enhance and customize their Twitter experience,” according to the company.

Besides the blue checkmark, Twitter Blue features include less ads, a 30-minute window to make changes to published tweets, tweets up to 10,000 characters, bookmark folders, custom app icons, NFT profile pictures, app themes, SMS two-factor authentication and more.

Eslabon Armado & Peso Pluma’s ‘Ella Baila Sola’ Tops Hot Latin Songs Chart: ‘We Didn’t Expect the Song to Make So Much Noise!’

Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma celebrate a new win with their first partnership, “Ella Baila Sola,” as the song hits No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (rising 2-1 on the April 15-dated list). The achievement arrives after the song debuted at No. 1 on Latin Streaming Songs and earned both acts career-highs on Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Latin Songs charts (dated April 1), until now.

“We didn’t expect for the song to make so much noise!” Pedro Tovar, lead singer for Eslabon, tells Billboard. “I really liked the song when I first wrote it, but I didn’t really expect it to be such a big hit. I previewed it on my stories on Instagram and two days after it went viral on TikTok and that’s when I knew that the song was going to do big numbers.”

“Ella Baila Sola” dances its way to the top with a 2-1 lift and evacuates Karol G and Shakira’s “TQG” from its five-week domination. It’s the first leader for both Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma, who, as mentioned, previously claimed their highest ranking on Hot Latin Songs when the track debuted at No. 2 (chart dated April 1).

“Normally I don’t expect to chart with songs,” Peso Pluma tells Billboard. “It is a great song, and we just enjoyed the process of doing it.”

“Ella Baila” traces its No. 1 arrival largely to 19 million official U.S. streams, up 22%, earned in the tracking week ending April 6, according to Luminate. The figure makes for a 12-6 lift on the overall Streaming Songs chart and a third week at the summit on Latin Streaming Songs.

“Working with Peso Pluma is probably one of my best collabs,” Tovar adds. “He’s a super humble and chill guy, and we get along good in the studio. He invited us to his show in Ontario and it was amazing, everybody was singing the song. I really appreciate him hopping on the song, it benefited us both.”

“I admire every artist I work with!” Pluma continues. “I’ve always wanted to collaborate with them along with other great artists I looked up to.”

“Ella Baila” also sold 1,000 downloads in the same tracking week, jumping 7-5 on Latin Digital Song Sales. The song likewise makes progress on the all-genre Hot 100 tally, peaking at No. 17, earning both acts their highest rankings there.

On a global scale, “Ella” concurrently unlocks new highs on both Billboard Global lists: jumps 11-9 on Global 200 with 67 million streams, while ascends 10-8 on Global Excl. U.S. with 46 million clicks.

Further, Peso Pluma places a total of five simultaneous tracks on Hot Latin Songs as “PRC,” with Natanael Cano, pushes 11-7 on the current chart. With five total top 10 entries on the same week, he ties with Karol G who also placed five top 10s on the March 11-dated ranking. Only one other artist has placed more concurrent songs in the top 10: Bad Bunny registered 6, 7, 8, and 9, across different chart weeks.

Are The Weeknd & Future Collaborating Again? Here’s Why Fans Think So

Sounds like The Weeknd and Future might be reuniting on a track sometime soon. The former went on Instagram Live Monday night (April 10) to tease what he and super-producer Mike Dean have been cooking up in the studio, and fans heard an unexpected, but all-too-familiar voice in one of the songs.

The “Wait For U” MC can be heard rapping over a slinky, synth-powered track that The Weeknd effortlessly glides on at the end of this screen-recorded clip, and viewers were freaking out in the comments section.

This wouldn’t mark the first time The Weeknd and Future worked together. The two first came together as guests on producer Mike WiLL Made-It‘s 2015 single “Drinks on Us,” which also featured Swae Lee. The dynamic duo came together one-on-one on “Low Life” from Future’s 2016 album, EVOL. At the end of that same year, The Weeknd tapped Future on “All I Know” from his Starboy LP, which got the deluxe treatment last month following his and Ariana Grande‘s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 “Die For You” remix. In 2017, the two collaborated on “Comin Out Strong” on Future’s album HNDRXX.

But that’s not the only thing The Weeknd teased from the studio Monday night. He posted a blurry picture of Dean playing synths in the back on Instagram Story with a desert emoji followed by a question mark. Fans presume the superstar will make an appearance at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (which starts this weekend) after his and Swedish House Mafia‘s co-headlining set last year. “You guys said, ‘See you at the desert’ on Live. Exposed! I got exposed!” he joked.
