The Offspring’s ‘Supercharged’ Album, Ed Sheeran Performance & More | Billboard News

Orange County natives The Offspring sprang into popularity with their 1994 album ‘Smash’ and haven’t looked back since. With the release of their upcoming 10th studio album ‘Supercharged,’ Dexter Holland shares how energetic and fresh this album is, discusses performing with Ed Sheeran and Brian May, explains the origins of ‘Smash’ and “Make It All Right,” and more!

Hi everybody. It’s Rania Aniftos with Billboard News. And I’m so excited we have Dexter from The Offspring in the studio today. Hello!

Hi, hello!

And we got to talk about the album ‘Supercharged,’ something that you described as pure energy. Tell me a bit about that inspiration and getting the energy.

That’s right. You know, we’ve done what, 10 albums or something. So it’s like, what can you offer when you’re doing this, right? You want to do something that you haven’t done before, but you don’t want to go so far out there that it feels strange to people who like the band, and it just felt like going kind of a little bit more direct was the right way to approach this record. I just wanted something that was energetic and really upbeat and just slamming in your face, kind of.

I feel like you guys do a good job too. I mean being a band all these years, keeping it fun and keeping it fresh. Because, I mean, it’s your job andyou want to separate the job from the creative, and you still want to keep it fun and fresh. So I feel like you guys do a good job at that.

It’s got to be fun, right? But that’s the thing is, we really, really enjoy what we do still, you know?

It’s important. I love going out and playing the shows, because there’s kind of an immediacy to that, where you get the reaction from the crowd and they’re singing along, and like, it’s hard to explain to people, like, there’s nothing like that feeling when you’ve written a song and people are singing your words, right?

Keep watching for more!

Harry Styles, Cardi B, Rosé, Jisoo & More Musicians Arrived to Paris Fashion Week 2024 in Style: See the Photos

Paris Fashion Week is underway, with designers showing off their womenswear looks ahead of the new season in the City of Light.

Paris Fashion Week — running from Sept. 23 to Oct. 1 — is hosting its annual event where a number of designer brands are presenting Womenswear Spring/Summer 2025 collections. And, of course, along with the high-end fashion comes attendance from today’s biggest stars as they pose for photos together and watch the new collections come to life from the front row of the runway.

Besides appearances from stars like Ice Spice, Future, Dove Cameron, Rosalia, Cardi B, Lenny Kravitz, Travis Scott and many more, the week also featured some special team-ups. At the Vetements runway show in the French capital on Friday (Sept. 27), Camila Cabello reunited with her former Fifth Harmony bandmate Normani to snap photos together near the catwalk. For her look, the “June Gloom” singer sported a black balaclava that covered her entire head, minus cutouts for her eyes, mouth and glitzy earrings. She paired the daring accessory with a lacy bodysuit, black jacket and miniskirt.

From Harry Styles and Katy Perry to Rosé and J Balvin, see below for our gallery of photos featuring all the musicians who attended shows at Paris Fashion Week.

Carin León gives a behind the scenes look of how he prepares for his Los Angeles show at the BMO stadium partnership with Victoria.

Carin León
Hey what’s up Billboard, greetings from your friend! Carin León! This is “Tour Stop,” so come with me fam.

Producer
This is the tenth sold out show?

Carin León
Yes! The tenth! No, it’s amazing you know? Our audience here in the US, can we say bad words? They’re f**king extra! Super extra!

Producer
Hell yeah!

Carin León
Oh, well, see, there’s not nothing more Mexican than that. Truthfully, it’s very natural for us especially up North in Sonora. Sorry, this is me.

Carin León
I’m really foul mouthed. How do you say in English?

Producer
Like sailor mouth?

Carin León
Sailor mouth? That has a lot of meaning. I’m like a sailor man. There’s a lot of music inside of me that I’ve been collecting with all these years. I was doing music since I was a kid. Representing Mexico is always such a great source of pride. Pure blessings, I have so much to be grateful for, and here we are to serve the great lady of music. All time I broke records. No, not the good ones, but this is a positive one, like being the most grossed Latin artist on this venue, like on the BMO, most ticket sales.

Jorge Juarez
Today, Carin breaks the record of most tickets sold and box office gross.

Carin León
No lie, the people of LA have been my great love since day one. Thank you for helping us break records because I don’t break them, you all do. So tonight we celebrate, all together.

Bowen Yang:

I’m ten weeks old Colin of course I know Chappell Roan.

Tetris Kelly:

Some fans felt like Bowen Yang was mocking Chappell Roan with his skit on Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

Bowen Yang:

Do not yell my name or expect a photo. Just because I’m your parasocial bestie or because you appreciate my talent.

Tetris Kelly:

While portraying the viral pygmy hippo, Moo Deng, Bowen calls back to a lot of the struggles Roan has had from setting boundaries to making her political support clear.

Chappell Roan:

Yeah I’m voting for f—ing Kamala. But I’m not settling for what has been offered.

Bowen Yang:

I know I’m only ten weeks old. But this is very important to me so please listen. I will not be making an endorsement in this year’s election.

Tetris Kelly:

Chappell hasn’t spoken out herself, but Bowen posted on IG “If my personal stance and the piece aren’t absolutely clear in terms of supporting her then here it is I guess.” Bowen actually interviewed Chappell for Interview Magazine where they talked about the struggle of fame and being misunderstood. We’ll see if she addresses the skit when she is the musical guest on SNL, November 2nd.
