TikTok’s got a new leader, a versatile track and a throwback debut. BabyChiefDoit steps from two to the top spot on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 for the chart posting Sept. 26. “Rollin’” earns him his first No. 1 on the chart. Making a 10th spot leap to No. 3 is IV of Spades’ “Come Inside of My Heart.” The song isn’t attached to a specific trend, but fits any kind of video, while this week’s biggest debut comes from Jack Johnson. More than 18 years after its release, it debuts at No. 4. Users have taken the lyrics literally and flipped their partners upside down — or at least tried to — to the track.

We did the Super Bowl. It was iconic, you know. Shakira, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, J.Lo. The creative process with “6AM…” I remember Sky was with Farruko because that day I don’t know where I was and they started the idea in Medellin and when I came back they showed me what they had. I’m like, “This is crazy,” so I immediately, you know, started writing and it felt like a hit since the first moment we recorded it. Yeah, the video was a super crazy party. There’s a person who had fallen with a parachute from the roof and it’s a party like the one in the ‘Hangover’ movie. It was very important moment because it changed everything for us and Sky, Bull and for Mosty and for our family. Our life took a different and beautiful path. I think it was kind of like disappearing for a second in the U.S. and I was really concerned about it, but not just because of the U.S., but in general, you know. And we did this song with Farruko. We recorded it in Medellin and it was beautiful because that’s basically when reggaeton got back to the U.S. with a lot of power. It was coming from Colombia. That’s like a big thing. You know I guess Colombia was a game changer situation you know, so it was a beautiful moment. First No. 1 on Billboard, yeah that’s such a blessing. Willy William sent me the beat and I hear it and I’m like, “This is a hit, let’s go to the studio right now and do this.”

Tyga gets a taste of the Diamond Club. Tyga earned his first diamond plaque earlier this week. The RIAA announced on Tuesday that “Taste” featuring Offset is now 10 times platinum. T-Raww celebrated the achievement by posing with his new plaque alongside Empire executives Ghazi and Nima Etminan. He captioned the clip thanking his fans. “Taste just went diamond 10x platinum. Thank you to everyone that streamed it and twerked to it.” The RIAA returned the favor on X writing, “Get a #Taste of your first RIAA Diamond certification! Congratulations Tyga on this incredible milestone!” Offset was also happy to hear the news. It’s the first diamond entry for the Atlanta native too. He expressed his excitement on X. “Man this is big to me,” Offset wrote in response to a tweet, with the Migos rapper also adding, “Went diamond today God is good.” The wet and wild pool party music video currently boasts more than 1.5 billion views produced by D.A. Got That Dope. The anthem reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, to give Tyga his third top 10 entry of his career.

“My band is the best band on Earth,” Hall tells Billboard’s Behind the Setlist podcast about guitarist and musical director Shane Theriot, keyboardist Greg Mayo, drummer Brian Dunne, bass player Klyde Jones, percussionist Porter Carroll Jr. and saxophone player Charlie DeChant. In each episode, the Live From Daryl’s House house band performs a handful of songs with a diverse group of musical guests who have recently included Jones, singer-songwriters Andy Grammer and Lisa Loeb, Robert Fripp, and Charlie Starr of the Southern rock band Blackberry Smoke. 

Most musicians would face a steep learning curve performing the songs, but Hall and his crew make it look effortless. The band is so good that, according to Hall, the members don’t rehearse together before taping. Instead, Hall spends a little time on the songs with Theriot, and each band member has the music at home. “We get together in that room, turn the cameras on, and that’s what you see,” he explains.

Take the episode with Fripp, the former King Crimson band leader who struck up a friendship with Hall in the mid-‘70s and produced 1980 album Sacred Songs. Hall says Fripp was blown away by performing with Hall’s band. Fripp joined Live From Daryl’s House for renditions of such songs as “You Burn Me I’m a Cigarette” (co-written by Fripp and Hall), King Crimson’s “Red,” David Bowie’s “Heroes” and “Babs and Babs” from Hall’s Sacred Songs. 

“[Fripp] said, ‘I have never worked with a band that didn’t take at least three or four days to even begin to learn these songs. You guys just played them,’” says Hall. “I mean, it flipped Robert out.”

The tour is like a traveling version of Live From Daryl’s House. After Jones opens the show with the Daryl’s house band, Hall, who’s supporting his latest album, D, will perform a set with the same band. Near the end of Hall’s set, Jones will join Hall on stage to trade vocals on each other songs and perhaps throw in a cover song or two. 

Hall and Jones were hitmakers at roughly the same time in the ‘80s. By the time Jones crashed the U.S charts in the mid’-80s with songs such as “Things Can Only Get Better,” “Life in One Day” and “New Song,” Hall was basking in the success of Hall & Oates’ 1980 album Voices, which contained “Kiss on My List” and “You Make My Dreams (Come True),” and 1981’s Private Eyes, which spawned the hit title track and “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do).” 

Until recording Live From Daryl’s House last year, Hall and Jones had never met. Now they’re prepping for a short tour together. “Howard and I get along really well, and I think he’s great,” says Hall.

The eight-date tour starts in Orlando, Fla., on Nov. 7, heads north to Evans, Ga., on Nov. 16, Nashville and Knoxville in Tennessee, and culminates in Atlantic City, N.J., on Nov. 23. Before the tour kicks off, Hall will perform a free, private concert on Oct. 31 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Daryl’s House Club venue and restaurant in Pawling, N.Y.

Even if just keeping it on music and it’s like not serious how everybody tries to make it, you know what I’m saying?

Metro Boomin had some interesting thoughts on the Kendrick and Drake battle that he and Future helped kick off. While sitting down with Matt Craig during the Forbes Under 30 summit, the multiplatinum producer out of St. Louis blamed a certain sect of fans for taking the fun out of the beef.

Metro Boomin:
I feel like the competition is great for the game. Hip-hop has always been more of a competitive genre. But I just feel like more today it’s more like stan culture. It makes it kind of weird. 

Tetris Kelly:
He then used the legendary battle between Nas and Jay-Z as an example. 

Metro Boomin:
Because back in the day, Jay-Z and Nas went at it, but I was a fan of both of ‘em. The internet just makes it a little too wild now. 

Tetris Kelly:
As far as being considered the catalyst, he took a more diplomatic approach. 

Metro Boomin:
But I feel like it’s good for the game, and as far as me being diplomatic, it’s just entertainment at the end of the day. 

Tetris Kelly:
And like the Spider-Man movie he crafted the soundtrack for, he knows with great power comes great responsibility.

Metro Boomin:
This is our era, so it’s really our responsibility to keep pushing it forward for the next one and so forth.

Could Lady Gaga be collabing with Bad Bunny and Rosalía? Well she just announced a new album, and if it’s up to her, it’s definitely a possibility. 

Lady Gaga:
I’m actually a very big Bad Bunny fan. 

Tetris Kelly:
Gaga told ¡Despierta América! not only is she a fan, she’d love to collab with Bad Bunny. She also told the morning show she thinks Rosalía is a great artist. We know Bad Bunny is a fan of Gaga as well, when she made a surprise appearance on SNL to intro his performance. You could tell just by the look on his face how excited he was. He even told E! News that he listens to Chromatica when he’s feeling lonely. 

Bad Bunny: 
That album makes me feel more happy. When she dropped that album, I was in a really good moment. Enjoying my life. So I love that album.

Tetris Kelly:
As for Rosalía, Gaga has proven to be a fan, using “Bizcochito” on her TikTok and her IG, while Rosalía once posted a video of her singing “Alejandro.” So we’re pretty much halfway to a collab, right? Por favor. They aren’t likely to be on her newly announced Joker companion album, but a little monster can dream.
