Troye Sivan Talks Sweat Tour With Charli XCX, ‘Something to Give Each Other’ Album Success & More | Billboard News

Troye Sivan talks touring with Charli XCX on their joint Sweat tour, the success of his third album Something to Give Each Other, how the album’s sound was inspired by Janet Jackson, getting a Grammy nomination for his song “Rush,” having a Saturday Night Live skit about the viral choreography in his “Got Me Started” music video, dressing up in drag for the “One of Your Girls” music video, the evolution of his songwriting over his music career, his collaborations with Hyunjin of Stray Kids, PinkPantheress, Ariana Grande, Tate McRae, Kacey Musgraves and more!

Troye Sivan

It was a crazy experience. And also, I think, kind of like, the biggest risk was, like, what if I look super busted, like, what if this just does not work?

Tetris Kelly

I don’t think that was gonna be a problem, Troye.

Troye Sivan

Not but like, you never know. You know, I’d never done drag before. Hey, this is Troy Sivan, and this is Billboard News.

Tetris Kelly

Hey, it’s Tetris with Billboard News. Hanging out with Troy Sivan, how’s it going Troye?

Troye Sivan

It’s going good. How are you?

Tetris Kelly

I’m great, man. Well man I’m here to talk about one of my favorite albums of the year.

Troye Sivan

Really?

Tetris Kelly

So yeah like come on, man, come on. It was such a great project. And we gotta start with “Rush.”

Troye Sivan

Okay.

Tetris Kelly

Tell me about living through that process and how it was to kind of have this song take over in the way that it did

Troye Sivan

Well, yeah, I mean, honestly, “Rush” completely, like, changed my life.

Kesha & Joe Jonas Change Lyrics About Diddy Following Sexual Assault Lawsuits | Billboard News

Kesha and Joe Jonas are just two of the artists that are changing their song lyrics referencing Diddy following the news that there are 120 sexual assault lawsuits against him.

Tetris Kelly

It’s the Diddy effect from Joe Jonas to Kesha. Artists are changing their lyrics as the Diddy fallout continues, and this Jobro is the latest one. Joe’s DNCE, track “Cake By The Ocean” ‘s original lyrics, went “Walk for me, baby, I’ll be Diddy. You’ll be Naomi. Whoa oh,” but in clips from live shows last weekend, Jonas seemed to omit Diddy’s name and just mentioned supermodel Naomi Campbell, the Jonas Brothers are currently on tour, delighting fans with hits and covers. “Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy” Kesha’s iconic opening to “Tick Tock” also got a facelift with her changing the lyric too, you know what? I’ll let her say it “Wake up in the morning like f*ck. P Diddy, grab my glasses. I’m out the door. I’m gonna hit this city.” Any Diddy lyrics you can think of that may end up getting this treatment. Let us know in the comments.

Megan Thee Stallion Teases New Music While Flashing Her New Grill | Billboard News

Megan Thee Stallion tells her Hotties that she’s working on new music while flashing her new icy grill on Instagram.

Tetris Kelly
Megan Thee Stallion may have another gift for her Hotties in the form of a new mixtape. With the calendar turning to October, Megan isn’t taking her foot off the gas pedal to close out the year. She teased a new project and promised it’s the hardest mixtape of ’24. It wasn’t only Meg’s Hotties excited to hear the news, as her “Wanna Be” collaborator GloRilla even chimed in. Glo wrote to X before Thee Stallion obliged, “I just approved your mix.” Megan hinted at new music last weekend when she shared an unreleased snippet while showing off her icy grills courtesy of Houston-based jeweler Johnny Dang. The mixtape doesn’t have a release date, but follows the Houston Hottie’s ‘MEGAN’ album, which arrived in June and launched at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart. And it wouldn’t be October without Meg continuing her Hottieween tradition of kicking off spooky season with a pumpkin head photo shoot. Don’t get scared now, as it’s shaping up to be a busy fourth quarter for the Houston rapper.

Ye’s New Album & 2025 Grammy Nom Predictions: Will ‘Not Like Us’ Make The Cut? | Billboard Unfiltered

In this episode of Billboard Unfiltered, Billboard staffers Carl Lamarre, Kyle Denis, and Damien Scott dissect J. Cole’s features on Tee Grizzley’s “BLOW FOR BLOW” and Daylyt’s “A Plate of Collard Greens,” as well as his best features overall. The team also gives their predictions for who could receive a 2025 Grammy nomination, discusses Ye’s announcement of his new album Bully, covers the public’s reaction to the announcement, and more!

Carl Lamarre:

I can’t take this serious man. It’s a struggle for me to look at you like…

Kyle Denis:

I just see that little Dreamville like monologue. It’s like bruh…

Carl Lamarre:

It could potentially be five or six.

Kyle Denis:

Music video too because I like his videos.

Damien Scott:

Ah man.

Kyle Denis:

It’s almost perfect. Kanye 2024 making new solo music. That’s a massive question mark for me.

Carl Lamarre:

I’m trying to identify who those next superstars are going to be, clearly Travis is that guy right now. Hey guys welcome to a fresh episode of Billboard Unfiltered. Shout out to Mr. Anderson, he’s celebrating his birthday today.

Damien Scott:

Happy birthday!

Kyle Denis:

Happy birthday!

Damien Scott:

Didn’t even tell us.

Carl Lamarre:

He’s probably having a bubble bath right now, so we’re holding down the fort.

Damien Scott:

A bubble bath…

Carl Lamarre:

First topic today, Mr. Jermaine Lamarr Cole.

Damien Scott:

Full name.

Carl Lamarre:

Full name! Full name, he just made a splashy return last week featured on two tracks. The first one being “BLOW FOR BLOW,” Tee Grizzley track and Daylyt’s “A Plate of Collard Greens.” The man who calls himself the self-proclaimed GOAT when it comes to features… Oof… has to me, he demolished. He did some demolition derby last week. Crushed those verses, in my humble opinion. Curious to see your guys’ thoughts on those two respective tracks, and is Mr. Jermaine Lamarr Cole back?

Zhamira Zhamrano:
Hi! My name is Zhamira Zambrano, and I’ve teamed up with Billboard and Ulta Beauty to show off “My Favorite Look.” First we’re going to start with hand sanitizer, Touchland Rosewater Glow Mist. Now that we have our hands clean, we’re going to start off with Beautyblender Power Pocket Puff.

Being Latina fills me with much power. I grew up in a house of women who, aside from being so beautiful on the outside, were very beautiful on the inside as well, and I feel like that has always helped me feel empowered. So for me to be able to partner with a brand like Ulta Beauty fills me up with absolute joy.

It’s really important for me to wear Hispanic-owned makeup brands like Ere Perez because I feel like we’re stronger when we get together and support gorgeous things like this. It’s, like, look at this mascara right now. For volume, we are going to utilize the product Rizo’s Curls Volumizing Hair Spray. To finish off the hair completely, we’re going to utilize the brand It’s A 10 Miracle Finishing Spray.

You can’t go without the perfume. One of my favorites is Carolina Herrera. She is also Venezuelan.

And now to end this makeup look, we’re going with what I believe is the secret of all Latinas to close out a good makeup look.

Shaboozey: The Breakout Star of Summer With ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ | Tour Stop | Billboard Cover

Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” took the Hot 100 by storm, and with its 12th week at No. 1, we get to speak with the man behind the hottest hit. Shaboozey takes us behind the scenes of his Brooklyn tour stop on his first headlining sold-out ‘Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going’ Tour, and he tells us about his reaction to becoming an overnight sensation, his musical influences, what his plans are for the future, and more!

Shaboozey:

What’s up, Billboard, you’re here with Shaboozey. Welcome to the ‘Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going’ Tour. Let’s rock it out. This is the boring part where we pull suitcases out.

Team Member:

Do you need any of your bags from your room?

Shaboozey:

I need all of the bags. Got this beautiful little J-45 situation in here, you know? But by the good folks at Gibson, you know what I mean? Sounds really good. This little sunburst — is this sunburst or rosewood? I’m not too sure. But yeah that’s my baby right now, getting me through the tour, you know? Stephen — toes out, huh?

Stephen Musselman:

Toes out, beers out.

Shaboozey:

That’s our pedal steel player, Stephen right here. Musselman.

Team Member:

The greatest pedal steel player, you will ever come across.

Shaboozey:

West of the Mississippi, we say. What’s up, boy, is that beer? I’m playing, it’s definitely beer. All right, y’all.

Jared Cotter:

We’re so excited to be here. You know, this is a culmination of years of work. You know, Shaboozey’s first headline tour. It’s sold out. You know, this particular stop is in Brooklyn, which is near and dear to my heart. Being from New York, I’m just so proud of Shaboozey and where he’s at, and, in turn, where the team is at. It’s just amazing. We had a show here.

Wendy Williams Says ‘It’s About Time’ That Diddy Allegations Came Out | Billboard News

Wendy Williams has spoken out regarding all of the Diddy allegations that have come to light. Keep watching to see what she had to say.

Tetris Kelly:

Wendy Williams breaks her silence by speaking on Diddy as she’s being told she called it. As Charlamagne pointed out Diddy and talk show host, Wendy Williams, have had a troubled history, but Daily Mail was able to get in touch with her to discuss the fallen mogul. She stated, “What is really weird is that I have been told by so many people, ‘Wendy, you called it,’” she told the British outlet. Adding, “You know how I feel about that? It is about time. To see this video on TV of [Cassie] getting pummeled… it was just horrific. But now you have to think, how many more times? How many people? How many more women? It’s just so horrible.” We shared news yesterday that Diddy is now facing lawsuits from 120 new abuse victims as he continues to appeal for bail. His lawyer has denied these latest allegations in a statement, and Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges so far.  As for Wendy, she has been dealing with serious health issues and we wish her the best.
