Whether you’ve seen the film in theaters or not, the new movie is expected to be released on VOD Saturday (Jan. 30) and on DVD Feb. 27. But you can still score tickets to see it on the big screen here.

Directed by Paul King, the musical movie provides the origin story of Willy Wonka (played by Timothée Chalamet) from Roald Dahl’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The young and poor aspiring chocolatier discovers the candy industry is run by a cartel of greedy businessmen, leading him to take matters into his own hands and invent chocolate and magical tricks that change the world with the help of his friend Oompa-Loompa (Hugh Grant).

Other cast members include Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Sally Hawkins and Mathew Baynton.

Can’t wait until the release date? Prime Video has opened preorders for the digital version of Wonka, which you can download in UHD, HD and standard edition for $24.99. Kid Cudi and Rap Sh!t creator Issa Rae are getting a cartoon makeover in the new series Young Love. HBO Max green lit the expansion of the Oscar-winning short Hair Love back in 2020, but is now officially coming to our screens on Max starting Thursday (Sept. 21).

Now, you can delve deeper into the Chicago family’s lives as the new series will follow the millennial parents as they deal with the everyday challenges of life such as parenting, finances, career and striving to achieve their dreams. It also spotlights what comes after overcoming a major sickness — if you’ve seen the short film you’ll know that Rae’s character had cancer, which will be one of the major themes seen throughout the season.

The show was created by Oscar-winner Matthew A. Cherry with other cast members including Brooke Monroe Conaway, Harry Lennix, Loretta Devine and Tamar Braxton.

Hair Love‘s initial success not only earned it an animated series, but the short film was adapted into a picture book as well, which comes in an Audible edition with narration by Blue Ivy Carter.
