Lil Kim meant well with her prayers in an attempt to offer support to those impacted by LA wildfires, but praying for another natural disaster to help deal with the current didnât land well on social media.
The Brooklyn rapper came under fire after she posted a prayer of support on her Instagram Stories, asking for a miracleâa monsoonâto help douse the flames currently wreaking havoc across Los Angeles.
âIâve Been sending strong prayers up for LA and everyone affected by the fires. â
âThis is heartbreaking. I pray to Jesus that God make [sic] it monsoon in LA.â
A monsoon is âa periodic wind especially in the Indian Ocean and southern Asia,â per dictionary.com.
Monsoons are nothing to wish or pray for; they cause extensive damage, such as flooding and water damage, wash away crops, destroy water, and cause hygiene issues.
Hilariously the post is still up, but she damn sure turned the comments off.
That didnât stop people from reacting to her praying for a monsoon.
âSo they can add Landslides & Mudslides to the mix? Nah,â one person on X, formerly Twitter, wrote.Â
Others sympathized with the âCrush On Youâ crafter but still wished she hadnât hit the post button.
âGod knows we means, but I just wish she didnât post this shit. There are some things that just gotta be sacred,â another user on X wrote.
Lil Kim Responds To The Criticism
Lil Kim has since responded to criticism for her post and clarified she meant rain, but for whatever reason, is still pushing for a monsoon, which would be worse than a rainy day.
âWhatâs happening is devastating and what LA really needs right now is rainâso whatâs the issue? Doesnât everyone understand that a monsoon is heavy rain? Iâm so happy to see that everyone is staying so positive during such a tragic situation. Letâs keep praying and supporting everyone that has been affected by this,â Kim wrote on X.
She didnât help her because she added a screenshot of the definition of a monsoon thinking it would quiet the haters.

Are Lilâ Kim and Tayy Brown booâd up? We donât know for sure, but if social media is any indication about their current relationship statuses, it certainly seems like love (or at least âlikeâ) is in the air for the pair.
Yesterday (Feb. 27), the OG Queen Bee took to her IG page to wish the up-and-coming rapper a happy belated birthday. Lilâ Kim went so far as to say that she was âblessedâ enough to have spent Tayy Brownâs entire born day with him and that they were still âcelebrating.â Did they see each other in their birthday suits though? Inquiring minds wanna know!
Continuing to explain the connection the two share, Kim went on to say the two share a special bond that she feels was heaven sent (word to Keyshia Cole). âIf ppl only knew how big of a role u play in my life and in my career. If they only knew ur a big part of the reason the beehive is getting new music right now,â Kim said. âU are my motivation and that voice that is always cheering me on. Ur so intelligent and such a boss. If they only knew the things we figure out 2gether, how we can talk with our eyes and be on the same page. How we are each otherâs rock, the late night talks, the gut-wrenching laughs we share, the arguments, the debates. U get on my nerves sometimes đđŠ but it also brings me great pleasure to annoy u cause Iâm annoying.â
Call us crazy, but it sounds like sheâs been struck by Cupidâs arrow.
Naturally, Tayy responded by echoing similar sentiments. â6 life my heart. U a blessing. This bigga than music. love you to da moon n back.â
Still, other commenters pointed out the obvious age gap as Kim is close to hitting the half-century mark on this earth and Tayy seems like he should be getting ready for prom night or something.
Regardless, neither Kim nor Tayy have confirmed or denied that theyâre in a relationship, so weâre just gonna mind our business for the time being.
Check out Lil Kimâs post below, and let us know your thoughts about the situation in the comments section.

Fabolous is sharing his opinion on the current state of rap by honing in on what he considers redundancy in female rap.
Taking to social media, the Hip-Hop veteran shared his opinion on the sector of the genre that is leading the pack, sharing that heâs âhappyâ to see so many women doing their thing in Hip Hop, heâd love it if some of these âstrongâ women incorporated topics about their life experiences in their rhymes a little more.
âI love hearing female rappers talking some real sh-t,â Fab wrote on his Instagram Story on Sunday (Jul. 16). âWomen are so strong. Have so many stories and perspectives that we need to hear in pure form. No disrespect to any female rappers out there but I think thereâs only one style of female rap/Hip Hop being promoted, programmed, and looked at as successful now.â
While Fab is calling for diversity, other rappers are weighing in on the influx of femcees dominating the charts, including Lil Baby, Lola Brooke, Glorilla and Lil Durk have all acknowledged womenâs current reign, with Durk crediting them for being competitive and focused on their love for Hip Hop rather than the business side.
âMake hip hop fun again we understand everybody got money but letâs fâk em up like we was doing s/o the females who been working salute keep going up,â Lil Durk wrote in his Instagram story last month.
Fabolous is no stranger to supporting female artists, the Street Family head honcho previously collaborated with some of Hip-Hopâs most notable female emcees, including Missy Elliott, Lilâ Kim, Foxy Brown, and Nicki Minaj. Three of his biggest songs in particular, âTake You Home,â âWhat Should I Do,â and âCanât Let You Go,â were all created alongside Baltimore artist Lilâ Mo.
In other Fabolous news, the rapper has announced plans to drop a fitness Hip-Hop album with Jim Jones, Dave East, and Maino titled Fit Lit, along with an appearance in Paramount+ Hip-Hop documentary, Mixtape,âfollowed by the official soundtrack.
As previously reported, the film highlights how authorities got involved in the downfall of the mixtape game and ultimately screwed up a once-thriving portion of the Hip-Hop game. In addition to Fabolous, DJ Green Lantern, A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz, DJ Khaled, KRS-One, DJ Drama, and Jeezy will also make appearances in the film.

On Thursday (Jan. 19), the festival board announced the details for âThe Jump-Off With Lil Kim and Friendsâ concert. The show is slated to take place at the world-famous Apollo Theater Thursday, Jan. 26 coinciding with the legendary institutionâs 89th anniversary. The event (named after one of her hit singles) will be Lil Kimâs first time as a headliner at The Apollo.
The bill will also feature Grammy Award-winning artist Ashanti, along with Remy Ma and Fivio Foreign, with more guests set to be announced later. âItâs going to be a night to remember to help kick off the Harlem Festival of Cultureâs road to the Festival with some of my special friends,â the âMagic Stickâ rapper said in the press release. âApollo was like my backyard and I played there so much and every time it was always love. The crowd is always amazing!â
The concert is also the first event to launch HFCâs partnership with The Apollo in advance of the venue hosting Festival events this coming July. âWe are thrilled to be in support of the Harlem Festival of Culture, this is a moment that will not only celebrate our Culture but provide a time to engage our beloved Harlem Community and all that it has provided to Global Culture,â said Kamilah Forbes, Executive Producer at The Apollo in the press release.
INFINITI was also announced as a presenter of the concert. âINFINITI is proud to celebrate the commencement of the Harlem Festival of Culture at the Apollo during what is sure to be a memorable evening,â Group Vice President at INFINITI Americas, Craig Keeys said. That festival, regarded as a landmark moment in Black History, was reintroduced through the Academy-Award-winning documentary Summer of Soul (âŚOr When the Revolution Could Not be Televised) produced by Ahmir âQuestloveâ Thompson of The Roots. Since its inception, the Harlem Festival of Culture has welcomed partners such as AMC Networks and ALL ARTS, and seminal artists such as New Editionâs Michael Bivins and Wyclef Jean on its boards.
