Music-licensing company Epidemic Sound has signed Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jordin Sparks, the company tells Billboard. Under the deal, Sparks will collaborate with Epidemic’s in-house team — including musicians, producers and A&Rs — to create a collection of “classic Christmas songs” to be released later this year, with Epidemic distributing. The tracks will be made available to Epidemic’s global community of content creators along with being released to all streaming platforms.

“We are thrilled to announce this partnership with Jordin Sparks. Jordin is an extraordinary superstar who has significantly impacted the music industry,” said John Cleary, Epidemic’s director of music recruitment & music U.S., in a statement. “Creators, filmmakers, marketers, and storytellers know the power of music in telling a compelling story, and they seek amazing music to elevate their content. By collaborating with Jordin, Epidemic Sound can continue catering to content creators’ needs while simultaneously amplifying her artistry globally and unveiling her tracks to our global ecosystem of creators and international fanbase.”

Sparks rose to fame after winning season 6 of American Idol and has since released three Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles including “No Air” with Chris Brown, “Tattoo” and “Battlefield.” According to a press release, she’ has’s sold more than 10 million tracks in the United States alone. In 2014, Sparks won a BMI Pop Award in 2014 for co-writing Ariana Grande and Mac Miller‘s hit single, “The Way.”

“I’m excited for this new partnership with Epidemic Sound,” said Sparks in her own statement. “They have empowered artists to thrive commercially, creatively and to reach new audiences. The freedom they give artists to choose their own path and work on different projects at the same time is unique and inspiring. I’m excited to join a roster of incredible artists and I’m looking forward to working with Epidemic Sound’s team!”

Epidemic Sounds’ remuneration model offers upfront payments, a 50-50 royalty split from streaming revenue and a quarterly soundtrack bonus. The company allows artists to work under non-exclusive agreements.

Bryce Leatherwood, winner of season 22 of NBC’s The Voice, signed with Universal Music Group Nashville in alliance with Republic Records. His label debut, “The Finger,” releases Oct. 27. Leatherwood is also signed with Morris Higham Management, CAA, Sony Music Publishing and O’Neil Hagaman. – Jessica Nicholson

Canadian singer-songwriter ThxSoMch signed with UTA for global representation in all areas. His track “Spit in My Face!” has been certified platinum by the RIAA, broke into the Billboard Hot 100 and hit No. 9 on Billboard‘s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. His most recent singles include “Caroline,” “Hate” and “Crumbled,” while his debut EP, Sleez, was released May 19. ThxSoMch is signed to Elektra Records.

Berlin-based composer-producer Ben Böhmer signed to Ninja Tune, which just released his new single, “One Last Call” featuring Felix Raphael.

Swedish singer-songwriter Winona Oak signed to Nettwerk, which released her new single, “With Or Without You,” on Oct. 20. Oak is signed to The Very Good and PostOak LA for management, with booking by CAA in the United States and Wasserman in Europe.

Nettwerk also signed Toronto-based bedroom pop artist Peach Luffe (born Jong Lee). The classically-trained violinist released his latest single on the label, “Say It Back,” on Oct. 20. He’s managed by Michael MadConald at Lonely Beach and was previously signed to Lonely Beach Club; he’s slated to play next year’s South by Southwest.

Lastly at Nettwerk, the label signed Chicago-based singer-songwriter Wic Whitney. His first release under the label, “Ooolong,” marks the first single from his forthcoming EP, Afternoon Tea, which is slated to drop on Jan. 12. Whitney is managed by Colby Carlson.

Night Tales signed with Empire Dance and will drop a crossover single, “Work It Out” featuring Champion DI, on Friday (Oct. 27). The group is managed by the team at Prime Artists, including leaders Harrison Bamel, Adam Lynn and Zach Ruben, with booking by Hunter Williams and Jenna Adler at CAA. Night Tales was previously signed to Sony Music’s Ultra Records.

Easier Said, a recently-formed dance and rhythmic label founded by A&R exec Dominique Keegan, signed Party Pupils and will release the group’s new song, “Girlfriend” featuring MAX, bbno$ and MILLI. The label is an imprint of Firebird Music and has also released music by artists including Ian Asher, NALA, Roland Clark, Riva Starr and Maya Jane Coles.

Chicago-based indie band Brigitte Calls Me Baby signed to ATO Records, which will release its debut EP, This House Is Made of Corners, on Nov. 3. The group is managed by Phil Costello at Red Light; booking is handled by Jackie Nalpant and Kiely Mosiman at Wasserman in the United States and David Exley at Wasserman in the United Kingdom and European Union.

Global distribution and artist and label services company The Orchard recently expanded its operations in Africa and, as part of that move, signed a global distribution deal with Ghanian duo R2Bees.

Massachusetts-based rapper Millyz partnered with Create Music Group, which put out his new singles, “Passion” and “Soul Bleed” featuring DeeBaby. Millyz is managed by Ceize Gemini, Bryce Raines and Jeremy Karelis, with booking handled by Ashley Ventura at MAC Agency. His previous distributor was Perfect Time Music Group.

Singer-songwriter Fancy Hagood (“Blue Dream Baby” featuring Kacey Musgraves) signed with UTA for global representation in all areas.

New York-based singer-songwriter Odetta Hartman signed to Transgressive Records, which will release her second studio album, Swansongs, on March 22. The first single from the set, “Dr. No,” was released Oct. 17.

Australia-based singer-songwriter Kirin J Callinan signed with [PIAS] via his record label, Worse Records, for the release of his fourth album, If I Could Sing.

Indie rock band Brother Elsey signed to Nashville-based independent label River House Artists. The group’s inaugural releases on the label are the tracks “Passing Through” and “Babylon.” The group, which is currently on a U.S. tour through November, is managed by Jay Emmons and Jerrod Wilkins, with Grace Stern and Jay Williams at WME handling booking.

Singer-songwriter Dan Smalley signed with ONErpm Nashville, which will release a series of singles leading up to his next full-length album, The State of Country Music, next year.

South Korean pianist Yunchan Lim signed with Decca Classics. Last year, the 18-year-old became the youngest-ever winner of the Vin Cliburn International Piano Competition in Texas. He will soon make his debut at Carnegie Hall and is also slated to perform with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris alongside and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He’ll release his debut album with Decca in spring 2024. Lim is represented by Nicholas Mathias and Federico M. Benigni at IMG Artists and in Korea by Sam Lee at MOC Production.

Wishy, a new band formed by Indiana songwriters Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites, signed to Winspear, which will release the duo’s debut EP, Paradise, on Dec. 15. The single “Donut” is out now.

Belarusian violinist Yevgeny Kutick signed with Epstein Fox Performances for North American and general management.

British rapper Central Cee (“Doja,” “Sprinter”) signed with Wasserman Music for global representation. His agents are Brent Smith, Lauren Marker, Tom Schroeder and Jesse Fayne. The deal follows the rapper’s signing to Columbia Records and Sony Music U.K. in June.

Dominican rapper El Alfa (popularly known as “The King of Dembow”) signed an eight-figure deal with royalty-financing company Sound Royalties ahead of his forthcoming album, El Rey Del Dembow, as well as a multi-city tour slated for this fall. “This multi-million-dollar funding will be instrumental in continuing to build my legacy and cement my influence in the Latin music space,” said El Alfa in a statement. “Beyond that, it is foundational for promoting and marketing my music, launching new career opportunities, and releasing more work through my own music label, El Jefe Records.”

Singer-songwriter-producer-DJ Mayer Hawthorne signed with Las Vegas-based MAC Agency. Hawthorne recently announced a forthcoming tour as well as the release of his sixth studio album, For All Time, on Oct. 27. He made his MAC Agency debut at Vegas’ Park On Fremont last month. Hawthorne is managed by ATC Management and signed to P&L Records.

Independent record label Absolutely Kosher is relaunching after a 12-year absence with a slate of new releases and initiatives for the 25th anniversary of its founding. Releases announced at launch include new music from singer-songwriter-producer Charles Bissell — who released the album Meadowlands from his former band, the Wrens, on Absolutely Kosher in 2003 — now recording under the name Car Colors; as well as Sybris, the Chicago band that released its album Into the Trees on Absolutely Kosher in 2008. The reanimated label will also put out two previously-released albums on vinyl for the first time: Edinburgh School for the Death‘s New Youth Bible and Brabrabra‘s Mangooona. Absolutely Kosher has a global deal with Downtown Music Holdings’ FUGA for distribution.

Rock-pop outfit Hey Violet signed with Hopeless Records, which will release the group’s next single, “I Should Call My Friends,” on Friday (Oct. 13). Hey Violet was previously signed to Capitol Records.

PPL signed Afrobeats star Libianca, producer-songwriter-artist Lewis Thompson and British pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason for international royalty collections. PPL licenses recorded music when it gets played in public as well as on the radio or TV in the United Kingdom. It also collects neighboring rights royalties for performers and recording rightsholders when their music is played around the world through agreements with collective management organizations (CMOs) in other countries.

Hip-hop supergroup CZARFACE — comprised of Inspectah Deck, Esoteric and 7L — and its record label, Silver Age, signed a global deal with Virgin Music for the release of the group’s next studio album. The trio is managed by Dustin Winegardner.

Alt-pop singer BIZZY signed to Big Loud Rock, the alternative/rock imprint of Big Loud Records. The news was accompanied by her latest single, “I Don’t Get Breakups.” BIZZY is managed by Nicolette McCann at TWIST Music Group.

Big Loud Records also signed singer-songwriter Zandi Holup to its roster. Holup, who released the song “Gas Station Flowers” on Friday (Oct. 6), recently signed a publishing deal with Arthouse Entertainment and TurnTable Music in partnership with Universal Music Publishing. Her booking agents are Marissa Smith and Josh Garrett at UTA.

French psychedelic rock band SLIFT signed to Sub Pop, which will release the trio’s upcoming third album, ILION, on Jan. 19, 2024. The title track is now out on all digital service providers. SLIFT is managed by Hélène Maigné, who also handles the band’s booking in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland and North America. Beth Morton and Oliver Ward at UTA are responsible for bookings in the rest of the world.

Singer-songwriter Ivan Theva signed to Descendent Records/Sony Music Entertainment, which will release his debut album, GARDENS, on Oct. 27. Theva is represented by Steve Ford at SF3 Management and Kevin Castleman at Reliant Talent for booking.

New York-based pop singer-songwriter Angélica Garcia signed to Partisan Records. The deal was announced along with the release of two new tracks: “Y Grito” and “El Que.” Garcia is managed by Tim Vigon and Riley Moriarty at Three Six Zero, with Frank Riley at High Road handling booking. She was previously signed to Spacebomb.

Country music trio The Castellows — comprised of sisters Ellie, Powell and Lily — signed with Make Wake Artists for management and WME for booking. According to a press release, the group has built a following of more than 1 million across social media platforms after releasing several covers highlighting their vocal harmonies. At Make Wake, Chris Kappy will serve as manager while HB Riordan will handle day-to-day. At WME, the band’s representatives will include Nashville office co-head/partner Joey Lee and agents Kanan Vitolo and Kevin Falck.

Alt-rock band House Parties signed with Equal Vision Records, which will release its forthcoming single, “Braindead,” on Thursday (Oct. 12).

Brittany Howard signed with Island Records. The singer, also the lead singer and guitarist for Alabama Shakes, is ramping up to release new music on the label and embark on a headlining tour that kicks off Nov. 6 and will include shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City. Howard’s debut solo album, Jaime, was released in 2019 and netted her two Grammy nominations — best rock song and best rock performance for the track “History Repeats.” She’s managed by Red Light.

Range Media Partners signed Russell Dickerson to its music division. Dickerson’s first four singles topped Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, starting with 2018’s “Yours.” He’s slated to launch his Big Wheels & Back Roads headlining run later this month. Since launching just over two years ago, Range’s music division has launched its own label in partnership with Capitol Music Group and Virgin Music & Artist Label Services, representing a range of talent including Jack Harlow, Saweetie, Justin Tranter, Cordae, Midland, Hailey Whitters, Luke Grimes and Paul Russell. – Jessica Nicholson

Range Media also signed Chinese singer-songwriter, dancer and actor Lay Zhang to a global deal across all areas. Zhang, who first rose to fame as a member of the K-pop group EXO, scored his first Billboard 200 entry with his 2018 solo album, NAMANANA: 03, which debuted at No. 21 on the chart. According to a press release, Zhang boasts over 80 million followers across his social media accounts. In addition to music, he’s currently starring in the Chinese box office smash No More Best and is slated to star opposite Jackie Chan in the forthcoming film A Legend; he’s also a brand ambassador for Hublot, Sprite, Fila and Bang & Olufsen.

Puerto Rican hitmaker Yandel signed a record deal with Warner Music Latina. Yandel, a reggaeton icon whose career spans decades — he broke out in the early 2000s as one half of the duo Wisin & Yandel — signed his contract at the Empire State Building in New York City, where he had the honor of kicking off the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration by leading the lighting ceremony. “Yandel’s iconic career has resonated with audiences worldwide, and his influence in the music industry is undeniable. This collaboration signifies a new chapter of innovation and creativity. We are excited to work hand in hand with Yandel to bring his music to fans across the globe,” said Warner Music Latina president Alejandro Duque in a statement. Yandel added, “I am truly excited to join the Warner Music Latina family and look forward to bringing new music to fans worldwide, fostering this new adventure with the label, and continuing to write my musical story together.” – Griselda Flores

Indian-born singer-songwriter-composer Guru Randhawa signed with CAA for representation. Known for Bollywood and Punjabi hits including “Patola,” Lahore” and “High Rated Gabru,” Randhawa broke into the U.S. mainstream with his 2019 Pitbull collaboration, “Slowly Slowly.” The music video for his latest single, “You Talking To Me,” has been viewed 30 million times in four weeks, according to a press release. He’s currently working on English-language music in Los Angeles. Randhawa is also represented by Exceed Entertainment in Mumbai, India; High G Talent; and the law firm Gang, Tyre, Ramer.

Warner Music Nashville signed singer-songwriter Matt Schuster. The Illinois native released his major-label debut track, “Tell Me Tennessee,” on Friday (Sept. 22). Schuster also has a cut on Bailey Zimmerman’s album Religiously. The Album., with “Chase Her,” and will open for Ashley Cooke, Dylan Scott and Kameron Marlowe this year. His team includes manager Eric Parker at Extended Play, booking agents Nate Towne, Braeden Rountree and Morgan Kenney at WME and Universal Music Publishing Group. – J.N

Ally Brooke partnered with AI-powered label SNAFU Records to release her new track, “Gone To Bed,” on Friday (Sept. 29). The deal marks Brooke’s reunion with Joey Arbagey, SNAFU’s president of A&R who first worked with Brooke during her time in Fifth Harmony. Brooke is managed by William Bracey, Sharona Nomder and Rue Golan and represented for booking by Mike G at UTA. She was previously signed to Atlantic Records as a solo artist and to Epic Records as part of Fifth Harmony.

The U.K. office of Believe partnered with Afroswing artist Darkoo and U.K. rapper Tion Wayne for their new single, “Shayo.” Believe will spearhead a full artist services campaign for the track encompassing global digital and physical distribution, digital marketing, digital service provider pitching and partnerships and more. The deal includes support from Believe’s audience development team spanning over 50 countries. “Shayo” marks Darkoo and Wayne’s third collaboration.

Rising rock artist Amira Elfeky signed with Anemoia Records/Atlantic Records, which released her latest track, “Coming Down,” on Sept. 15. Her relationship with Anemoia — a genre-agnostic imprint that specializes in early artist development and also boasts The Hellp, southstar and PEARCE on its roster — began nearly two years ago when she and her manager-masterer-mixer, Tylor Bondar, began working on music in Anemoia founder Ian Hunter‘s Los Angeles home. She released the track “Tonight (Demo)” in July. More music from Elfeky is expected in the fall.

Singer-songwriter Tiera Kennedy signed with Hill Entertainment Group for management and WME for global representation in all areas. Kennedy will be managed by Kodi Chandler, Greg Hill and their team, while at WME her reps are Risha Rodgers and Carter Green. She recently released “Jesus, My Mama, My Therapist,” a track off her forthcoming debut album. Kennedy is signed to Big Machine.

U.K.-born singer-songwriter-producer and multi-instrumentalist Finn Askew (“Roses,” “Feather”) signed to Elektra Entertainment, which released his latest single, “Perfect Colour,” on Friday (Sept. 22). Askew is managed by Marissa Rodney and was formerly signed to Polydor Records.

Indie rock duo Mae signed to Equal Vision Records, which will release new music from the band early next year (their first in nearly five years); Mae vocalist David Elkins is currently producing the new album at his Nashville-based Schematic Studios. Eva Alexiou-Reo manages and handles booking for the duo, which was previously signed to Tooth & Nail and Capitol Records and also released music on its own label, Cell Records.

Indigenous Canadian hip-hop duo Snotty Nose Rez Kids (comprised of Young D and Yung Trybez) signed to Sony Music Entertainment Canada. The 2023 Polaris Music Prize-shortlisted group is slated for a brief autumn tour to support its fifth full-length album, I’m Good, HBU? Brodie Metcalf at Meta Arts serves as the duo’s manager, while booking is handled by Jordan Powley at The Feldman Agency.

Universal Music Latino signed emerging reggaeton artist Fiamma, who rose to attention in 2020 with her single, “Chiki Pon.” Born in Puerto Rico and based in Miami, the singer said in a statement: “I am very grateful to the Universal Music Latino family for giving me the opportunity to represent the women of Puerto Rico in this prestigious company. This is a dream I’ve had since I was a child, and I’ve worked hard to get here, but now the real work begins. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to making this possible.” – G.F.

Kehlani signed with Wasserman Music for global representation, with agents Brent Smith and Eli Gelernter serving as her representatives at the company. The signing follows the singer-songwriter’s extensive world tour supporting her most recent album, Blue Water Road.

K-pop group RIIZE signed with RCA Records via a partnership between the U.S. label and Korea’s SM Entertainment. The group’s first release under the new deal is the single “Get A Guitar,” released on Sept. 4.

Rising country star Zach Top signed with independent label Leo33. Top is managed by Bob Doyle and Associates with booking representation courtesy of Jay Williams at WME.

Lay Zhang, a popular Chinese artist, producer, actor and dancer, signed to Warner Music China. Zhang, who debuted as a member of Korean-Chinese boy band EXO before launching a solo career, is managed by Zhang Yixing Studio.

Warner Music Central Europe signed its first digital artist, Noonoouri, and released her debut single, “Dominoes” featuring German DJ Alle Farben, on Sept. 1. Noonoouri’s voice, based on a human singer’s voice, was created using artificial intelligence. The songwriters and producers on “Dominoes” will receive royalties and publishing splits, according to the announcement of the signing in The Independent.

Chrysalis Records signed several new artists: British singer-songwriter Liz Lawrence, better known as one-half of electro-pop duo Cash + David, who is set to release her first EP on the label on Sept. 29; New York art-punk band Bodega, which will release a new album early next year; British vocal harmony group The Wandering Hearts, who will also release a new album next year; pop artist Gia Ford, who just released her new single, “Alligator,” and will put out her debut album on Chrysalis next year; and British singer-songwriter Marika Hackman, who released her latest single, “No Caffeine,” on Wednesday (Sept. 6) and will also put out an album in 2024.

Kyle Dion — whose music is described in a press release as a “blend of heartfelt R&B soul-pop” — signed a global label deal with Position Music. His latest single, “Boyfriend Jeans,” was released by Position on Aug. 25. Dion is represented by Brandon Hughes of Revel Talent Agency for booking and Lauren Camp of On Camp for management.

Alt-punk band 408 signed a multi-album deal with Los Angeles-based alternative label Big Noise, which will release the group’s next single, “Break Up With Your Girlfriend,” on Sept. 29. The band is managed by Nick Bailey, with booking representation by Jason Parent; it was previously signed to Regime Music Group.

Fievel Is Glauque, a group centered around American keyboardist Zach Phillips and French singer Ma Clément, signed to Fat Possum Records, which released its new singles, “I’m Scanning Things I Can’t See” and “Dark Dancing,” on Aug. 15. The band is managed by lucas@abusiness.company and Adam Ogushwitz at UTA for booking.

MNRK Music Group signed Los Angeles-based songwriter-producer Shawn Mackey, aka Pressplayy, to its producer and songwriter management roster. Pressplayy has collaborated with artists including Jeremih, Jadakiss, Quavo, Chris Brown, E40, Jeezy and more. He also boasts a producer partnership with Mally Mall; together, they’ve produced hits for artists including Justin Bieber, Akon and Roy Woods. Pressplayy most recently collaborated on a gospel album for the late rapper DMX.

San Francisco Bay Area singer-songwriter Maria BC signed to Sacred Bones, which will release their sophomore album, Spike Field, on Oct. 20. The label released Maria BC’s dual single, “Amber/Watcher,” on Aug. 29. Maria BC is represented for booking by Maxwell Cann at Anniversary Group in the United States and Guillaume Brevers at Hometown Talent in the United Kingdom and Europe. They were formerly signed to Father/Daughter Records.

Comedy/music duo Austin & Colin signed to BMG/BBR Music Group, which released the duo’s new track, “Guilt Tippin’,” on Sept. 1. Austin & Colin is managed by Peter Strickland and Craig Campbell at Marathon Talent.

Country-folk artist Colby T. Helms, who hails from the Blue Ridge/Appalachian Mountains region, signed with Photo Finish Records. The label will release Helms’ debut single, “Higher Ground,” on Wednesday (Sept. 13). He is represented by Ramseur for management and New Frontier Touring for booking.

Sony Music Nashville artist Nate Smith, who earned a No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hit with “Whiskey on You” early this year, signed with The Neal Agency for booking representation. He is also represented by The Core Entertainment for artist management. The Neal Agency’s roster also includes Morgan Wallen, Bailey Zimmerman, HARDY, Ernest, Chase Rice, Anne Wilson, Ella Langley and Jake Worthington, as well as lifestyle brands Whiskey Jam and Stevenson Ranch. – Jessica Nicholson

Genre-agnostic singer-songwriter Atlus signed with UTA for global booking representation. The Denver native is preparing to hit the road on his nine-stop High Expectations tour and will release his latest single, “Tom Petty,” on Friday (Aug. 1). He’s represented by Brett Saliba and Mackenzie Coberley at UTA.

Warner Music China signed Chinese R&B artist Elva Hsiao. The label will work to strengthen Hsiao’s domestic following while using its international network to boost her fanbase throughout Asia and the rest of the globe. According to a press release, Hsiao was the first native Mandarin-speaking artist to release an R&B album into the Chinese market and is one of the country’s biggest-selling artists.

The Familie signed singer-songwriter sombr (born Shane Boose) to its roster. Sombr signed with Warner Records earlier this year and will be releasing an EP in September. He’s best known for the track “Caroline,” which was propelled by TikTok where he boasts over 258,000 followers and 8.7 million likes.

Artist-songwriter-producer JHart (a.k.a. James Abrahart) partnered with United Masters for the distribution of his upcoming D’Mile-produced EP, The Wishing, The Wanting, The Longing, which is slated for release on Oct. 27. As a songwriter, he has co-written songs for artists including Justin Bieber, Jason Derulo, Rita Ora and Little Mix. He is managed by Lucas Keller, Danny Herrle and Nic Warner at Milk & Honey Music + Sports.

Songwriter-executive producer-vocalist Trey Campbell signed a worldwide management deal with SILO: Music. Cincinnati-based singer-songwriter Nolan Taylor (“68”) signed with Atlantic Records, which released his latest single, “Wicked Ways,” on Friday (Aug. 25). He’s represented by Kanan Vitolo at WME for booking and managed by Julian Wilkey at Unlikely MGMT.

Chicago band Friko — comprised of Niko Kapetan (vocals/guitar) and Bailey Minzenberger (drums) — signed with ATO Records. The label re-released a new 7-inch vinyl of the band’s “Crimson to Chrome,” limited to 500 copies worldwide, and will put out its debut album early next year. Friko is represented by manager Dawn White and booking agent Erik Selz at Arrival Artists.

Rock-country artist Riley Thomas has signed with Elektra/DBLBLK Records, which will release his new single, “I’ll Be Damned,” on Friday (Aug. 18). Thomas scored a sleeper success with his debut single, “Cowboys Did Cocaine,” which has racked up nearly 14 million streams on Spotify since its release in June.

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and watching Riley develop as both a writer and artist for years,” said DBLBLK Records founder Jameson Roper in a statement. “It’s always been a question of when — not if — his moment would arrive. I am beyond thrilled to lock arms with my true partners at Elektra. They have always identified great music and supported our artists fully. For Riley, the music may be dark, but the future is bright.”

Thomas added, “As an artist focused on the reach of my music, I knew I wanted to be with Elektra after meeting the team. I’ve long admired Gregg Nadel, Johnny Minardi, and the staff’s ability to develop and sustain career artists. Daughtry signed with Big Machine Records, which released the band’s latest single, “Artificial,” on Aug. 11. Fronted by Chris Daughtry, the band has released a total of six albums to date.

Country singer-songwriter Walker Hayes announced a new partnership with Monument Records and RCA Records. Under the deal, Hayes recently released a new two-track bundle titled Strait Two Stepping featuring “Stetson” and “Show Me The Country.” Hayes is managed by Robert Carlton at SMACKSongs and represented by Aaron Tannenbaum at WME.

Nashville-based alternative singer-songwriter Max Frost signed to Nettwerk, which will release his new single, “Creep Back,” on Friday (Aug. 18.) Frost is represented by Ron Shapiro and Joe Hegleman at Have Fun Management and Marsh Vlasic and Craig Bruck at IAG for booking. He was formerly signed to Atlantic Records.

CMW Entertainment struck a partnership with Sony Music’s AWAL Recordings for CMW’s flagship artist, Mudrigo, whose latest single, “UH HUH,” was released under the pact on Aug. 2. The companies will collaborate to support Mudrigo with a full suite of services globally; AWAL will support his development by offering services including A&R, global marketing, creative, synch, brand partnerships, distribution and access to real-time analytics.

Mette signed to Since ’93 and RCA Records in the United States. The labels will release her upcoming EP, METTENARRATIVE, on Sept. 22, preceded by Mette’s new single, “VAN GOGH.” She is managed by Caron Veazey at ThreeSix Zero; booking is handled by Mary Hannon and Craig D’Souza at WME for the United States and United Kingdom, respectively.

SMACK has launched SMACKRecords, adding a label branch to the company and announcing its first signing, singer-songwriter-actress Jenna Davis. SMACKRecords marks the fourth enterprise to launch under SMACK, following publishing company SMACKSongs, SMACKManagement (which reps Walker Hayes and Kylie Morgan) and digital marketing company SMACKTok. Davis will also be represented by Marissa Turk at SMACKManagement. Her debut single, “DiCaprio,” was co-written by Hayes, Kelsea Ballerini and Ross Copperman. Rock band Sheer Mag signed with Third Man Records, marking the group’s first partnership with a larger independent label. Under the deal, Third Man will physically and digitally re-release Sheer Mag’s entire back catalog — including EPs I, II and III as well as albums Need To Feel Your Love and A Distant Call — on Oct. 27. Third Man just released the band’s latest single, “All Lined Up.” Sheer Mag is represented by manager Mike Sneeringer at Another Management Company and booking agent Timmy Hefner at Ground Control Touring.

Country duo Neon Union signed with CAA. The duo, which has played over 50 tour dates so far this year, is signed to Red Street Records and managed by Tristan Kirkbride.

Country singer-songwriter Annie Bosko signed a joint-venture management deal with Randy Bernard and Brown Sellers Brown (BSB) Management; she will be represented at the latter by Benny Brown, Jason Sellers and Angela Wheeler. Bosko also signed a label deal with Brown’s Stone Country Records and is now represented by CAA for booking.

Emerging country singer-songwriter Eli Winders signed to Atlantic Records/Bad Realm Records, which released his debut single, “Pack My Hometown,” on Friday (Aug. 11). He is managed by Layne Lindroth at C3.

Morgan Myles, the country singer-songwriter who was formerly a contestant on The Voice, signed with KZZ Music/Blue Élan, which released her new single, “Vertigo,” on Aug. 8. She’s represented by manager Ann Henningsen and booking agents Jennifer Hludzik at APA and Jared Caleb.

Singer-songwriter Rissi Palmer signed with New York-based management/distribution/merchandising company Invasion Merch and has signed a new contract with talent and literary agency Paladin Artists. Palmer recently earned two Grammy nominations and hosts the Apple Music show Color Me Country with Rissi Palmer. That Chick Angel, the performance alias of Angel Laketa Moore, signed to the Azoff Company label Giant Music, which just released the music video for her TikTok-driven single, “One Margarita (Margarita Song).” Moore is also an actress, host, influencer and comedian who is currently on tour with her husband, TankDontTok, for their podcast, Is This Going to Cause an Argument. She’s represented by Realm Talent and Framework Entertainment.

Las Vegas singer/songwriter/producer/rapper Ez Mil signed to Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records. On August 11, he’s set to drop DU4LI7Y: REDUX, a deluxe edition of his 2022 album DU4LI7Y which will mark his final release on Virgin Music. The new edition will include “Realest,” a new single featuring Eminem. “I heard Ez’s music and was like, ‘this is really special” so I took it to Dre,” said Eminem in a statement. “We both agreed it would be a great fit and we wanted to work with him right on the spot.” Dr. Dre added, “I’m really only interested in working on s— that sounds different from anything else going on out there, and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me Ez and I had that feeling…that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special.”

Chicago rapper/singer/songwriter Calvin “Calboy” Woods is set to release Unchained, his first album project under his own newly-established label, Loyalty N Company, with distribution through Create Music. The label is described in a press release as “representing his independence and emancipation from the shackles of RCA Records,” Calboy’s former label. The first single off the new set, “On My Own,” was released Friday (July 28).

Independent digital distributor IDOL signed global artist services deals with Nigerian afropop artist Yemi Alade via her own record company, Effyzzie Music, as well as London-based afrowave artist and Capital Xtra DJ Afro B. Alade will work with IDOL on the release of her forthcoming seventh studio album later this year, while Afro B will release several singles leading up to the release of his fourth album set to drop in 2024. Under the agreements, IDOL will handle worldwide digital distribution for all upcoming releases for both artists while also working with the artist teams on strategy, global marketing, international coordination, audience development and channel management.

Dance music agency The Gongaware Group signed DJ/producer and BBC Radio 1 Dance Party host Danny Howard. Gongaware will focus on expanding Howard’s DJ career in North and South America; he currently has residencies at Amnesia Ibiza and BCM in Mallorca, Spain. Howard serves as label head at record company Nothing Else Matters in the United Kingdom.

Old Man Canyon, a psych-pop project from Vancouver singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jeff Pace, signed to Nettwerk, which released his latest single, “Never Apart,” on July 21. The track will be included on Old Man Canyon’s forthcoming EP, So Long Babylon, which is set for release on September 29.

Canadian pop singer/songwriter Alex Sampson (“Play Pretend”) signed to Warner Records, which released his latest single, “Want You!”, on Friday (July 28). Sampson is managed by Jesse Beer at The MGMT Company.

San Francisco Bay Area alt-pop group Finish Ticket signed with Better Noise Music, which released their latest single, “Changing,” on July 21. The group is represented by Tony Couch at C3 Management and Andrew Buck at Wasserman. Their previous label was Atlantic Records.

Singer/songwriter Jordana Bryant signed with CAA for booking representation. Bryant is signed to Riser House and is aligned with Jonas Group Entertainment for management. Los Angeles coldwave/post-punk trio Sextile signed to Sacred Bones, which will release the group’s forthcoming album, Push, on September 15. Sextile dropped their latest single, “New York,” on July 25. The band is represented by booking agent Natasha Parish at Grand Control Touring in the United States; they were previously signed to record label Felte.

Queer dance-pop artist Lynks signed to Heavenly Recordings, which released his latest single, “Use It Or Lose It,” on Wednesday (July 26). He is represented by manager Chris Bellam at underplay and booking agent Adele Slater at Wasserman outside the United States. His publisher is Domino Publishing.

Global entertainment brand Superplastic expanded into music with the announcement of its new label, Superplastic Records (distributed by Virgin Music), as well as the signing of Ghost Kidz, a “3D animated hip-hop duo” (comprised of Lil’ ILL and Filth-E) that is “voiced by two prominent hip-hop artists” who have chosen to remain anonymous, according to a press release. The music video for the duo’s single, “Goin’ Off” featuring Vince Staples, was played at Rolling Loud Miami last month. Prior to the label’s announcement, Superplastic’s previous artist collaborations included Staples, J. Balvin and Gorillaz.

Country singer/songwriter Tyler Chambers signed with Play It Again Entertainment for exclusive label representation. Play It Again released Chambers’ latest single, “Loves Me Like a Small Town,” on July 21. Play It Again’s Alyssa Ramsey is currently acting as Chambers’ management; he is signed to Warner Chappell Music for publishing.

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Jesse Ahern singed to Dummy Luck Music/[PIAS], which will release his forthcoming album, Roots Rock Rebel, on September 15. Dummy Luck is the Dropkick Murphys‘ record label.
