Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj’s husband, has gone viral after updating his photo on the sex offender registry recently.
The web was buzzing as Kenneth Petty, the husband of rap superstar Nicki Minaj, recently updated his photograph on the state of California’s website of registered sex offenders. The updated photo was a necessity as Petty’s sentence of house arrest ended. The Megan’s Law website operated by the state of California has Petty’s status as an offender as well as personal data including his age and date of birth along with the reason for his previous conviction and aliases. Petty recently served a period of house arrest for threatening Offset.

Petty’s status comes as a result of being found guilty in an attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old girl, which occurred in 1995. He was sentenced to four years in jail. He ran afoul of the law in 2019 after moving to California with Nicki Minaj before their marriage. For that offense, he was sentenced to three years of probation and a year of house arrest for failing to notify the state of his status when he arrived, which was discovered after he was pulled over at a traffic stop. He also had to shell out $20,000 in fines.

Nicki Minaj has been on record defending her husband, claiming that he was wrongfully accused and going so far as to say that the alleged victim was willing to walk back her claims. “When the alleged accuser wrote a letter to the judge asking to recant the statements she was told that she would go to jail for 90 days, allegedly, if she recants the statement,” she said on her Queen Radio show hosted by Apple Music.
Petty’s status fueled a scorching set of bars by Megan Thee Stallion in her song “Hiss” earlier this year. “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start,” she rapped, initiating a serious beef with Nicki Minaj by referencing the legislation documenting all sex offenders and named after Megan Kanka, who was killed in 1994 by a previous offender. In addition, a former security guard reportedly won a default judgment last month against Petty and Nicki Minaj after accusing them of assaulting him backstage with the couple potentially owing the man $500,000.

On the latest episode of “When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong,” Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, just learned that threatening a rapper on social media is not a good look when you’re on probation and has some pretty annoying consequences.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kenneth Petty was placed on house arrest Wednesday (Sept. 20), for his online antics after his probation officer saw his social media posts where he was creeping the streets of New York looking for Offset and making threats to the rapper over some silliness. Though nothing has come of the situation (thank goodness), it was determined that Petty violated the terms of his probation and was sentenced to 120 days of home detention for his transgression.
At least he lives in a nice home with his millionaire wife, right?
Per The Hollywood Reporter:

In a court order filed Wednesday in the Central District of California, Petty was ordered to undertake home monitoring after he “was recorded on video making threatening remarks to a specific individual while in the company of someone with a criminal record.” The specific individual mentioned in the order is Offset, and the clips relate to a series of messages Petty aimed at the rapper that appeared on social media Sept. 16.
As you may or may not recall, Mr. Minaj was sentenced to three years probation back in 2022 after he pled guilty to failing to register as a sex offender. In the clip that went viral and got him violated, Petty and his alleged goons are seen creeping outside a hotel where Offset was allegedly staying and offering up some threats.

All this over a row of seats at the MTV Video Music Awards. SMH.
The man knew he was on probation, and given his history, was probably aware he’d get violated for any little thing by the courts. Still, he felt the need to go on social media and let the world know he was “keeping it real.” That kind of ego and pride will get you every time.
No word on how Offset feels about Petty getting reprimanded for the video, but we’re sure he’s laughing a lot harder than he was to Petty’s original threats.

It looks like the Nicki Minaj and Cardi B beef just went up another notch as the two women’s husbands are now squabbling on social media.

On Saturday night (Sept. 16), videos of Nicki’s hubby, Kenneth Petty, hit social media in which he and some of his goons were “outside” in New York City looking for Offset after the two got into a weird back-and-forth via Instagram DMs. It seems like Offset rubbed Petty the wrong way by sliding into one of Petty’s homie’s DMs and basically welcomed whatever smoke Petty and company had to offer by calling them “p***y” and saying they “don’t got money for war.”

Apparently, someone in Petty’s crew took to IG and threatened to slap up anybody at the VMAs if they dared to sit in their row of seats, and Offset had an opinion about it for whatever reason.

Feeling disrespected, Petty rounded up some of his peoples and took to the streets in search of Offset and posted a video of themselves calling him out as they stalked a location where Offset was supposedly laying up at. Talking about the situation and calling Offset out, the crew seemed like they were ready for whatever, but luckily, for everyone, nothing actually went down.

We’re not sure where they got their intel from but Offset wasn’t anywhere near that spot as the man was off on his grizzly living his best life. Responding to Petty and his crew’s video, Offset uploaded a video of himself laughing off the threats as he got off a private jet. “These ni**as is broke,” he said in the video.

Yeah, we’re not feeling how this situation is unfolding now. It’s one thing to have Cardi and Nicki throw shade and subliminals on records, but once their hubby’s begin to taunt each other on some street ish, that might turn into a tragic situation at some point. Cooler heads need to prevail for the sake of everyone involved.
What do y’all think of this situation? Sound off in the comments section below.

Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, will still be on New York’s sex offender registry.
Spotted on The Daily News, Kenneth Petty tried and failed miserably to get off New York’s sex offender registry, according to documents from the Brooklyn Federal Court.

Minaj’s husband was convicted of attempted rape in 1995 by a then 16-year-old Jennifer Hough. In a Brooklyn Federal Court lawsuit, he tried to argue that he never got the opportunity to contest his status as a medium-risk sex offender.
Per The Daily News:

Petty, 47, his lawyer, Alan Gerson, contended that he was never notified about a 2004 hearing to challenge that status and that someone forged his signature on a document about the proceeding. Plus, he claimed he couldn’t have possibly been told about the hearing because he was in state prison.

There was one big problem, though — a court transcript showed that Petty was not only present at the hearing he said he didn’t know about but that he also didn’t object to being listed as a level 2 sex offender.

Petty asked Judge Eric Komitee to withdraw the lawsuit after the state Attorney General’s office came with receipts in the form of court transcripts in a court filing.
“We’re not going to contest it,” Petty’s attorney Jennifer Michaelson said during the December 14, 2004 hearing in Queens Supreme Court. “I have spoken to the defendant, and I’ve explained to him what’s happening here, and he is satisfied with the Level 2.”
So much for that excuse.

Kenneth Petty Was Allegedly Confused

Gerson told The Daily News that he expects the case to be withdrawn “in the next week or two.”
Israel Dov, a paralegal at Gerson’s firm, claims Petty was probably “confused” about whether he was there or not at the hearing and what exactly it was about.
“We were just going according to his statement, what he’s telling us, that he wasn’t present,” Dov said. “He still says that he wasn’t there, and maybe someone is putting this together just to get him. I don’t think that he purposely lied to us. I just believe maybe he forgot.”
Right.
Before announcing they got married, Nicki Minaj spoke about her baby daddy’s rape conviction and defended him, saying, “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf Internet.”
In an exclusive interview with The Real in 2021, Petty’s victim, Hough, shared the painful details of the rape, where he shoved an object into her and took her to a nearby house where the sexual assault took place.
Last year Petty was sentenced to three years probation for failing to register as a sex offender when the couple relocated to California.
