It seems Kanye is going to Kanye wherever and wherever. He did the absolute most during a virtual lawsuit deposition.
As reported by TMZ, the rapper was recently featured on A&E’s Interrogation Raw: Celebrity Under Oath. The news series shows high-profile stars participating in legal proceedings. To promote the premiere the network released a promotional trailer, which captures Kanye being questioned regarding a lawsuit MyChannel. Inc. filed against the “Stronger” rapper for allegedly stealing their technology.
As soon as Kanye joins the virtual call he makes it clear he sees this very important matter as beneath him by wearing a cap and keeping his head down while using his phone. Naturally, the lawyers request he put away the device to which Yeezy responds defiantly. “Due to my mental geniuses-ness, in order to focus on this bullish*t I need to be on a phone.” Shortly after, his counsel asks about the device. Kanye volunteers to get off the phone but then proceeds to put on a mask. When asked why he put on the facial covering he said, “because you don’t have the right to see my face.”
In a second clip, Kanye is asked where he is located during interrogation and tells the plaintiff’s lawyer “I’m not going to tell you! You’re never going to see me again.” When prompted further on who else is he with and what other items he has in the room besides the phone he yells “Are you stupid? You are talking to the richest Black person in the history of America.”

Attorneys in the music industry are a competitive bunch. They vie for high-performing clients and duel with each other over deal points; battle is in their blood.
Perhaps unexpectedly, a number of these attorneys have joined forces recently, unified by a common goal: Getting their producer clients paid for their contributions to Vultures 1, the first of two 2024 albums from Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Ty Dolla $ign.
Since its February release, Vultures 1 has earned more than 817,000 album equivalent units in the U.S., according to Luminate — including over 1 billion on-demand streams — and a Grammy nomination for the hit “Carnival.” But more than 10 producers on the album do not have signed agreements in place with Ye, meaning they are unable to collect fees, as well as potential producer royalties and publishing income, for their work. And several of the producers who worked on Vultures 2, which came out in August, share the same unpaid fate as their colleagues who worked on the first installment.
Trending on Billboard
“We have clients who’ve produced music on the Vultures album(s) and have still not been paid for their services even though both albums have been released,” Bob Celestin, a music attorney, told Billboard via email. “Presently, we have no idea when payment will be made, which is so unfortunate and unfair. You would think Ye would be more sensitive to this issue because he is a producer.”
“We’ve had trouble receiving a producer agreement from Ye,” adds Brittney Trigg, another lawyer who represents a producer on Vultures 1. A representative for the star did not respond to a request for comment.
This problem continues to plague the music industry at its highest levels. Jason Berger, a partner at Lewis Brisbois, estimates that in “nine out of 10 deals, the producer has not been paid the day the music comes out.” And due to the volume of new releases, the high number of collaborators on some albums, shrinking major-label staffs, and the mercurial nature of superstars — who have to sign off on producer agreements even if they are running around the world on tour — Celestin says that producers often don’t get paid for a year or more after albums come out.
“The more convoluted the system gets, the less money comes down to the people that are actually making the product,” says Nima Nasseri, who manages the producer Hit-Boy. (Hit-Boy was not involved with Vultures 1.) “Why do people have to fight to get paid?” Nasseri asks.
In Ye’s case, five lawyers with clients on Vultures 1 say that getting them compensated for their work has been even more challenging than usual.
The superstar has cycled through at least two attorneys to help with clearances and is now relying on a third, the lawyers says. Longtime Ye associate 88-Keys was initially involved in negotiations with producers; more recently, Matt Geffen from the Revels Group has taken on a prominent role. (Geffen did not respond to a request for comment.) On top of that, Ye also changed distributors, leaving Label Engine, which is owned by Create Music Group, in favor of Too Lost. (Vultures 1 and 2 were released independently.)
In a typical distribution deal, artists are responsible for clearing songs and disbursing royalties to collaborators. Distribution companies are usually shielded from legal liability, though many offer tools to help streamline the royalty splitting process once clearances are completed.
Still, earlier this year, attorneys for a number of producers on Vultures 1 banded together, coordinating their efforts via a group chat, to draft threatening legal letters to send to Create, since no royalties were flowing to their clients. They hoped that, in a relatively small industry that places a premium on maintaining good relationships, their collective weight might convince Create to try to help them. (A representative for Create declined to comment.) Before the messages could be sent, however, Ye switched distributors.
The producers on Vultures 1 may find cold comfort in the fact that even Atlantic Records — the label to which Ty Dolla $ign is signed — is having a tough time getting paid, according to a source close to the situation. (West alluded to this in an Instagram post in September.) The source says Too Lost is now holding money for Atlantic and other rights holders and working with Ye’s team to clear the records accordingly. Representatives for both Atlantic and Too Lost declined to comment.
The challenges that producers face in getting paid in a timely manner seem all but certain to persist. “The industry’s ‘back of house’ infrastructure really isn’t designed to handle dozens of producers and other collaborators on a single project,” says Tim Kappel, an entertainment attorney. “There are inevitably going to be delays even when everyone is operating in good faith. Throw in a few bad actors here and there, and it’s easy to understand why producers are feeling aggrieved.”
The sad truth is that producers can’t do much to redress those grievances. They have very little leverage once they have turned over the files containing the music that will appear on an artist’s album.
At this point, “we have no recourse besides to try to sue [Ye],” says one attorney with a client on Vultures 1. “But that’s costly.” And, as another music lawyer points out, “Legal claims against Ye don’t really seem to go anywhere.”
In situations where producers are frustrated because they haven’t been paid for their work, their representatives often “threaten to file a takedown notice on the recording,” according to Kappel. “But this is inappropriate since the DMCA takedown process can only be used to report copyright infringements,” he continues. “There is simply no cause of action for infringement among co-authors.” There have been several attempts to take down tracks on Vultures 1, all unsuccessful, according to multiple lawyers with knowledge of the back-and-forth behind the scenes.
Some producers who contributed to the album did receive deal offers from Ye’s team this fall. However, those offers were buyouts, according to multiple attorneys, meaning the producer would accept a flat fee and not receive any royalties if the album recouped its costs. Recoupment may be out of reach — as Ty Dolla $ign told Billboard in June, Vultures 1 is “a very expensive album” recorded between Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles, Japan, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Still, buying out producers in this fashion is atypical, and multiple lawyers for Vultures 1 producers rejected the offers.
Sources close to Ye now believe he is planning to release another album soon, meaning that the star could put out three uncleared projects in a single year. “It’s a mess,” says one attorney involved with Vultures 1 clearances. “I just keep going back to that word.”

Not too long ago Kanye West was hit with a lawsuit in which he was accused of antisemitic behavior and weird sexual deviancy, but now, the College Dropout artist is facing more serious allegations as a former America’s Next Top Model contestant says that Kanye West sexually assaulted her.
According to Rolling Stone, Jennifer An filed a lawsuit in New York Federal Court Friday (Nov. 22), suing Kanye West for sexual assault and strangulation during an incident that took place back in 2010. In the legal filing, An says that the assault took place when she was working as a background actor for a video shoot for La Roux’s “In for the Kill.” She says that during the shoot, Kanye West arrived on set and bluntly stated, “Give me the Asian girl” before he got in her face while “breathing heavily” and actually instructed the camera crew to focus on her face while he turned the shoot into his “own production.”
That’s when things got disturbingly uncomfortable for everyone.
Per Rolling Stone:
“On camera, defendant West began to choke plaintiff with one hand. He then wrapped his other hand around her neck and continued to strangle her with both hands,” the lawsuit alleges. “He then rammed several fingers down her throat, continuously moved them in and out, and gagged her.”
An says West used his fingers “to emulate forced oral sex” as he allegedly screamed, “This is art. This is fucking art. I am like Picasso.” The lawsuit claims West assaulted An “in a manner similar to pornographic gagging/deep throat/BDSM fetishes.”
As she panicked under West’s “gyrating hand,” An says she looked around the room, hoping someone would intervene. She alleges no one helped her. “Plaintiff struggled to breathe and felt as if she had temporarily blacked out. When defendant West decided that he was finished with plaintiff, her face was covered in saliva and smeared makeup,” the lawsuit states.
We’re low-key surprised this wasn’t big news on social media even though it was only a few years old at the time.
While An is suing Kanye for the assault, she also names Universal Music Group as a co-defendant as they were behind Kanye’s cameo in the video and failed to investigate the incident afterwards or take any kind of action.
Jennifer An is suing for compensatory and punitive damages.

Ye, the artist formally known as Kanye West, is the subject of another lawsuit, and it alleges plenty of anti-Semitic behavior and perverse behavior from the Hip-Hop star.
Variety reports that a new lawsuit alleges that Kanye West told a former employee that his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, who has recently claimed that she is raising their four kids basically by herself, has “Jewish masters.”
“The Jews are out to get me,” West said, according to the lawsuit. “They froze my bank account. The Jews got Kim and my kids… The Jews convinced Kim. She has Jewish masters.”
Murphy Aficionado, a project manager, says in the lawsuit that West made him wait in his suite on two separate occasions while he had loud sex in an adjacent room. One time was with his wife, Bianca Censori, who was topless when Aficionado entered the suite; the other time, alongside an unnamed “famous NFL wide receiver,” was with a masseuse. We can all guess who that former NFL player was, *coughs Antonio Brown,* Rolling Stone reports.
Per Rolling Stone:
Aficionado claims that in late November 2022, West summoned him to the Beverly Hills Waldorf Astoria for a meeting. He says a lawyer for conservative commentator Candace Owens exited the suite as he entered. (A month prior, West and Owens posed together at his Paris fashion show wearing matching “White Lives Matter” tee shirts.) Aficionado alleges he quickly spotted West’s wife Bianca Censori standing topless inside and tried to exit as well, but West “commanded” him to sit down. He says West told him the lawyer was “a Jewish spy” and then demonstrated his “dominance” by opening the door to the bedroom where Censori had retreated, exposing her again. He claims West left the door slightly ajar as he had loud sex with Censori while Aficionado waited silently for their meeting to resume.
“Disturbed, Aficionado wanted nothing more than to leave. However, Aficionado feared further retaliation by one of the most famous, powerful, and erratic artists in the world,” the lawsuit states. Aficionado claims West returned from the bedroom wearing a T-shirt with a swastika and aggressively asked him, “Don’t you like my shirt?”
According to the website, West demanded Aficionado return to the suite a second time, and upon arrival, he saw West and the NFL wide receiver both just wearing a towel. He claims they both took turns going into a room where they could be heard having sex with the masseuse.
Bruh.
Aficionado was fired after he was told West’s school, the Donda Academy, would be shut down.
This latest lawsuit is just one of many brought by former employees of the producer/rapper.

A mysterious documentary about Ye aka Kanye West is in the works, and the first image has been revealed to the public.
A new documentary that’s been years in the making about Ye aka Kanye West is now revealing the first image from the film. The film, entitled In Whose Name?, includes never-before-seen footage of West and “promises to offer a unique and cinematic perspective on Ye’s public transformation.” In Whose Name?, which has been in production for six years, will have an exclusive promotional reel screening at the American Film Market on Nov. 7 after a completed deal with Goodfellas and Utopia.
The synopsis of the film reads:
“With a billion-dollar budget and a commitment to truth, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, invites 18-year-old Nicolas Ballesteros armed with an iPhone on a six-year journey revealing unfiltered aspects of celebrity life which confront the provocative opinions, grand visions and bold contrarianism that defined him as the world’s most controversial artist. The film follows Ye’s ascent to becoming the richest Black man in American history while uncovering why the superstar risked everything he had built in the name of freedom. Examining the culture that birthed the star, ‘In Whose Name?’ explores the overlapping influences of corporate exploitation, racial complexities and psychological struggles inherent in the American dream.”
Outside of the synopsis, observers note that Ye’s recent issues with adidas as well as his spiral into anti-Semitism may very well be discussed in the movie. Ballesteros serves as a producer on the documentary along with Shy Ranje. The executive producer is Justin Staple, and David Bullock is on board as a producer. The movie is currently in post-production at the time of this article’s publication.
“We’re thrilled to present ‘In Whose Name?’ at AFM,” said Marie Zeniter, vice president of sales at Utopia, and Eva Diederix, head of sales at Goodfellas in a statement about the documentary. “This powerful documentary offers an unfiltered view without narration, it invites audiences to draw their own conclusions on themes of fame, religion, and power. We believe audiences globally deserve the chance to witness how one of the world’s most influential figures navigates the complexities and contradictions of celebrity.”

The once successful partnership between Kanye West and adidas has reportedly been fully dissolved. The two parties have settled their legal battle.
As spotted on Sneaker News the apparel giant has confirmed that they no longer have any business ties to the rapper. During an third-quarter earnings call a reporter asked for an update regarding the brand’s current ties to Kanye West to which CEO Bjorn Gulden responded “There (aren’t) any more open issues and there is no… money going either way.” The Norwegian businessman went on to add “there were tensions on many issues (but) … both parties said we don’t need to fight any more.”
Kanye West and adidas originally announced their partnership back in 2014 after the “Stronger” performer claimed Nike failed to limited him to only creating sneakers. In 2015 YEEZY Season 1 debuted along his first adidas signature shoe. The Yeezy Boost 350 was a huge success with this model selling over 9,000 pairs in over 10 minutes. His line would go on to produce several iconic sneaker releases including the YEEZY 700, 300, Foam Runner and Slides.
On Oct. 7, 2022 adidas announced they would be ending the line after Kanye West made several antisemitic remarks. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness” a press statement read. Following the split adidas moved to exhaust all remaining YEEZY inventory via their CONFIRMED app and at adidas outlet stores.

For all the noise and hoopla he’s made in the previous years, Kanye West has been keeping an uncharacteristic low profile in this election cycle, which has a few people wondering, “Where in the world is Kanye West?” (besides walking everywhere with his wife, mostly).
Well, according to TMZ, Yeezy can now be found in Beverly Hills. Looking for a fresh start after selling his Malibu estate for $21 million, Yeezy dropped a whopping $35 million on a home in the gated community of Beverly Park North. Keep in mind that Kanye dropped $57 million on the beachfront Malibu mansion only to strip it down and attempt to turn it into a bomb shelter. Ultimately, that didn’t happen, and Ye ended up taking a $36 million loss on the sale.
Luckily for him, he’s still pretty rich. So dropping another $35 million on a new home isn’t a problem for him.
Per TMZ:
Kanye’s new crib comes with all the bells and whistles … including an entertainment pavilion connected to the main house and a pool area that looks straight out of a resort … with cascading waterfalls and separate pools for swimming laps or soaking, plus a pool house and a gazebo.
There’s also a paddle tennis court on the grounds.
Yeezy may have gotten a sweet deal here … because Honey co-founder George Ruan paid $44 million last week for a property in the same neighborhood.
What’s the chances he strips this one down too only to sell it for less than what he bought it at some point in the future? We’d say a little likely, but hey, that’s just us.

Lupe Fiasco has one of the more storied journeys in Hip-Hop, starting off in Chicago as an upstart MC to becoming one of the genre’s most respected lyricists. In a new interview, Lupe Fiasco shared why the Child Rebel Soldier, or CRS, supergroup with Kanye West and Pharrell Williams never took off.
Sitting down with Donwill of Tanya Morgan fame for his The Almanac of Rap series with Okayplayer, Lupe Fiasco shared details of his early days in Chicago, his travels in the music industry, and who he is as an artist today.
The CRS supergroup was one of many announced groups that caught the attention of Hip-Hop fans considering the acts involved. At the time of their forming in 2010, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams were buzzing acts and Lupe was still signed to Atlantic Records at the time.
In the chat, Lupe said that the idea for CRS started with him rapping over samples of songs made by the Radiohead band and recording a song with Skateboard P. Ye happened to hear the work and added that he wanted in on the track, prompting Williams to suggest they get together as a group.
Lupe says that Pharrell named him the “Child” of the group while Ye was the “Rebel” with the Virginia producer giving himself the “Soldier” tag. The trio did record the track “Don’t! Stop!” and the remix to N.E.R.D.’s “Everybody Nose” but that would be the end of it.
As the interview went on, Lupe, without naming names, said that one of the members, presumably Ye, “got rich and crazy” before trailing off into laughter.
The clip in question with Lupe Fiasco can be viewed below. Also, we’ve got the full The Almanac of Rap video as well.

The recent rumors of Kanye West and Bianca Censori divorcing recently made headlines. Some say that this was a plot so Ye can divert the attention away from his ex-assistant suing him for assault.
As spotted on Page Six, an unnamed individual is claiming that the speculation of the celebrity couple parting ways is actually fake news. An alleged insider told Daily Mail that the hearsay was concocted by Kanye and his team. “Kanye is concerned that his new lawsuit will drag him down to Diddy’s level and he has been speaking to his legal reps,” the tipster said. “He is paying attention to what is going on with Diddy and some believe that the publicity stunt was a way of overshadowing the details of the harrowing lawsuit.”
Kanye West’s former assistant Lauren Pisciotta says she was drugged and taken advantage of by her former boss during a recording session at a studio where Diddy was present. She claims she was offered a beverage “laced with an unidentified drug.” She then says she felt “disoriented” and in “less control of her body and speech.” She woke up the next morning with very little memory of the day prior but says Kanye later admitted to her that the two had hooked up.
“Still to that day, up until that conversation and revelations of true facts and actions taken that night, Plaintiff did not know or think she was sexually assaulted that night, as Plaintiff only thought she was roofied by a studio assistant, likely embarrassed herself and then took the blame,” the lawsuit reads. While Pisciotta says Diddy was at the recording session, he is not accused of any wrongdoing.
Back in June, the rapper’s lawyers responded to the lawsuit calling it baseless. Kanye West and Bianca Censori have been married since 2022.

This past Summer, Kanye West was slapped with a lawsuit by his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, for sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior. Now, Pisciotta has added another eyebrow-raising accusation to her original suit.
According to PEOPLE, Lauren Pisciotta has amended her original lawsuit and is now alleging that Kanye West once drugged her during a studio session in Santa Monica, Calif., with none other than Diddy, and proceeded to sexually assault her in said session. The amendment comes weeks after it was said that Diddy would serve his guests laced drinks before allegedly sexually abusing his victims. We’re not sure if the news jogged her memory or what, but Pisciotta is claiming that Ye and Diddy preyed on her before she ultimately ended up working for Kanye in 2021.
Though Pisciotta says Diddy was a part of the studio session where everyone was basically forced to drink up if they “wanted to stay,” she doesn’t accuse the embattled music icon of any wrongdoing.
PEOPLE reports:
The filing further alleges that Pisciotta’s drink — allegedly served to her by a studio assistant at the request of West — was “laced with an unidentifiable drug,” before she felt disoriented after “a few small sips.”
“As plaintiff began to slip into an altered and heavily impaired state, she felt less in control of her body and speech, and that is where plaintiff’s memories of that night escape her,” the complaint reads.
According to the filing, Pisciotta woke up the following day “feeling physically ill and confused” and felt “immense and embarrassment” for not being able to recall what happened after she had the drink, according to the filing.
For years, West’s former assistant thought she got roofied and made a fool of herself at a work event. Much later — after West hired Pisciotta to serve as an assistant and Chief of Staff and do A&R for him — she says the rapper allegedly brought up the night in question for the first time. During the conversation, West told Pisciotta that they “did kind of hook up a little one time,” referring to the evening in the Santa Monica studio where the alleged assault took place.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Pisciotta also recalled how Kanye West basically barged into her hotel room at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco at 6 a.m. claiming that he needed to use her shower as his was “out of order.” Once he was in Kanye allegedly “dropped” his towel and attempted to “forcefully thrust his naked body onto and penis into Plaintiff’s face” and “ignored her pleas to stop.” Per the complaint, West “swiftly left” after saying “sorry” and “went about his day as normal.”
This is the same guy who dropped an album named Jesus Is King?? Christ on crutches!
A lawyer for Kanye West did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment about the story.
