On Monday (Dec. 18), Jonathan Majors was found guilty of reckless assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, and in turn, Marvel Studios wasted no time in parting ways with the actor.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Majors (who plays Kang The Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) was informed that his services would no longer be required at Marvel as they want no parts of the backlash that would surely follow had they decided to keep him on board. Even though Majors’ Kang The Conqueror storyline was set to play out over the next few years and both upcoming Avengers films, rumors had begun to circulate that Marvel was prepared to move in a completely different direction regardless of what the verdict turned out to be in his court case.
The guilty verdict apparently made the decision that much easier for Marvel to make.
Per The Hollywood Reporter:
Marvel has two courses it could take now. It could recast the part, although it is not clear how many actors would be attracted to a role from which one actor was so publicly fired. The other course is to redevelop its plans and refocus on a brand new villain. While Marvel sources are mum, there is indication that the studio has already been doing just that. In November, Marvel hired Loki creator Michael Waldron to work on a new draft of what was once called Kang Dynasty, but is now being referred to as Avengers 5, according to sources.
The studio has had months to plan for such an eventuality, and it’s possible that Waldon was part of that course correction.
While Marvel could easily recast the role to another up and coming actor such as John Boyega or Damson Idris as many fans have been speculating, what comic book fans are really hoping for is that Marvel finally make way for the long-awaited arrival of Dr. Doom.
Rumors of Dr. Doom being introduced into the MCU picked up steam when talk of Marvel ditching the Kang storyline began earlier this year. Now that Jonathan Majors has been given the pink slip, that clears the way for Marvel to once again spark interest in the MCU and give the fans what they’ve been asking for ever since the Avengers defeated Thanos in Endgame.
Whether or not they actually go that route remains to be seen. But if the higher-ups at Marvel want to regain the same level of popularity they were experiencing just a few years ago, introducing Dr. Doom as the next big bad guy would go a long way. Just sayin.’

Jonathan Majors was found guilty in New York on Monday (December 18) after weeks of testimony and evidence introduced to the jury. The actor was found guilty of reckless assault and harassment, but two other charges were dropped.
As seen on Deadline, Jonathan Majors, 34, was found guilty by a New York City jury of three women and three men after a couple of days of deliberation. The actor faced a total of four misdemeanor charges and was found not guilty of intentional assault in the third degree, and not guilty of aggravated harassment in the second degree.
Majors will learn his sentence on February 6 of next year. As told by the judge overseeing the matter, Majors is still under a protective order and has to avoid contact with his accuser, Grace Jabbari. Majors entered a not-guilty plea and has maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal that first spilled out into the public view in March of this year.
A statement from Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg can be viewed below:
At the Manhattan D.A.’s Office, we are committed to centering survivors in all of our work. The evidence presented throughout this trial illustrated a cycle of psychological and emotional abuse, and escalating patterns of coercion far too common across the many intimate partner violence cases we see each and every day. Today, a jury determined that pattern of abuse and coercion culminated with Mr. Majors assaulting and harassing his girlfriend. We thank the jury for its service and the survivor for bravely telling her story despite having to relive her trauma on the stand.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, news of the guilty verdict in the domestic violence trial for Jonathan Majors is spreading wide with several varied reactions. We’ve got some of them listed below.

Jonathan Majors’ assault trial is finally underway. The opening arguments were full of damning allegations about the Creed III star, if accurate, that is also providing fodder for jokes on X, formerly Twitter.
Bible in hand, his rumored wife Meagan Good by his side, Jonathan Majors is currently fighting to save what’s left of his name in a lower Manhattan court as his attorney, Priya Chaudhry, tried to paint her client as a victim.
Chaudhry claims that Majors’ ex, Grace Jabbari, only accused the Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania star of domestic violence and harassment because he ended their relationship and alleged racism was behind his March 25 arrest.
But that’s not what has social media in an uproar. It’s what Assistant District Attorney Michael Perez is accusing Majors of doing to his ex.
According to Business Insider, Perez accused Majors, 34, of showing a “cruel and manipulative pattern of psychological abuse” towards his white British ex.
Majors allegedly also “demanded total compliance” from Jabbari and hilariously wanted her to act like civil rights activist and author Coretta Scott King or Former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama by “making sacrifices for him.”
Bruh.
Perez also claims that when Majors didn’t get his way, he would go into rages, shouting at Jabbari and throwing objects at her.
X Users Are Hilariously Clowning Jonathan Majors
As you can imagine, X users are frying the actor after hearing Perez’s claims, and rightfully so.
“Yall think Jonathan Majors be telling Megan Good to act like Ruth Bader ?” one X user hilariously wrote.
Another post read, “The fact that I’m 100% certain Jonathan Majors was dressed like a share cropper when he demanded his white woman be more like Michelle & Coretta makes it so much funnier to me.”
LOL.
This trial is expected to last about two weeks, and we imagine more shenanigans will come from it. You can see more reactions in the gallery below.

The criminal trial against Jonathan Majors for alleged assault began with intense opening statements from both legal teams.
On Monday (December 4), opening statements in the trial against actor Jonathan Majors were delivered at New York Criminal Court. Majors has been accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari after being arrested on March 25 after a domestic dispute with Jabbari. Majors was present in the courtroom with family members including his mother and his current partner, actress Meagan Good.
Prosecutor Michael Perez began by detailing the relationship between the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star and Jabbari, disclosing that they had met on the film set in 2021 and were together in “a serious relationship,” even discussing marriage. Perez then detailed the dispute that took place on March 25, which occurred after the couple attended a party in Brooklyn where a text from another woman sparked an argument where Majors allegedly injured Jabbari once they reached their Manhattan apartment.
The prosecution would go on to paint Jonathan Majors as an abuser with Perez stating: “He began to snap at, manipulate and strategically withhold affection from [Jabbari].” “This affected their entire relationship and how she reacted on March 25,” he said. In a recording of a fight that prosecutors plan to play for the jury, it’s alleged that Majors told Jabbari, who is white, that she should be more like Coretta Scott King and Michelle Obama and “to conform to the plan and make sacrifices for him” saying it’s because “I am a great man, a great man.”
Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, contended in her opening statement that the previous relationship had “nothing to do with what happened in the car.” Chaudhry told jurors it was Jabbari who attacked Majors physically first, telling police who arrived at the Manhattan residence the two shared that he assaulted her. In previous interrogations, Majors told the NYPD that he had called them since Jabbari was “suicidal” in her texts.
The defense would state that the allegations were born out of Jabbari’s revenge against Majors. Mr. Majors’ lifetime of hard work was coming to fruition and his career seemed unstoppable until […] he ended his relationship with Jabbari and she made these false allegations,” Chaudhry stated. Jabbari is expected to testify during the two weeks of the trial. Majors, who has pleaded not guilty, faces a year in jail if convicted.

After years of churning out successful box office films and raking in billions of dollars, Marvel Studios is in allegedly crisis mode and not only because some of their recent films and TV shows have been struggle, but because Jonathan Major’s legal woes don’t seem to be going away anytime soon.
According to Variety, the higher-ups at Marvel Studios are panicking about where their future is going to be headed as their hardcore fanbase have begun to lose interest in their film content and the legal consequences that the star of their next few Avengers films, Jonathan Major, remains murky as he’s still set to stand trial for domestic violence later this month. After being anointed the next big Marvel villain as Kang The Conqueror for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Majors found himself in major trouble after his girlfriend accused him of putting hands on her earlier this year.
After the incident became public, other people who’ve worked with Majors and/or dated him came out with their own negative stories about the ascending Hollywood star which led to rumors that Marvel was going to recast the role of Kang The Conqueror to avoid negative publicity. Still, Majors remains a part of the MCU but with the recent disappointing films releases and Disney+ shows, it seems like some drastic measures are going to be taken to revamp the struggling franchise and Majors might actually be out of a job sooner or later.
Variety reports:
“Marvel is truly fucked with the whole Kang angle,” says one top dealmaker who has seen the final “Loki” episode. “And they haven’t had an opportunity to rewrite until very recently [because of the WGA strike]. But I don’t see a path to how they move forward with him.”
Beyond the bad press for Majors, the brain trust at Marvel is also grappling with the November release of “The Marvels,” a sequel to 2019’s blockbuster “Captain Marvel” that has been plagued with lengthy reshoots and now appears likely to underwhelm at the box office.
Yeah, The Marvels looks like it’s going to bomb at the box office but you never know.
Because of how dire things are looking at the current moment, ideas have been thrown around to revive interest in the MCU including cutting Kang out of the MCU and bringing in Dr. Doom for the next few Avengers films and even actually bringing back the OG Avengers to life including Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America (who’s still alive, but in another time).
With Iger publicly acknowledging the downside of a Marvel TV glut that “diluted focus and attention,” the keepers of the comic book empire are considering some dramatic moves. Sources say there have been talks to bring back the original gang for an “Avengers” movie. This would include reviving Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, both of whom were killed off in “Endgame.” (That shouldn’t be a stumbling block — in comic books, beloved characters are often killed off, only to be resurrected thanks to the power of things like the multiverse.) But the studio hasn’t yet committed to the idea — if it were able to bring those actors back, it wouldn’t come cheap. Sources say Downey Jr.’s upfront salary for “Iron Man 3” was around $25 million.
Yeah, we’d definitely sign up for the return of the OG Avengers. It was all downhill for the MCU after Iron Man bit the dust and Captain America dipped to find love and happiness in the 1940’s.
Still, how this all unfolds is anyone’s guess as their has been talks of the MCU getting a reboot at the end of The Avengers: Secret Wars which will lead to a new MCU which will feature The Avengers along with The X-Men, Fantastic Four and Spider-Man all in the same reality. Should be interesting to see what Marvel Studios does going forward though as they have their work cutout for them to once again reign at the box office as they did in their heyday.
What do y’all think Marvel should do with their struggling franchises? Let us know in the comments section below.

The legal issues of Jonathan Majors took a new turn this week after his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, turned herself in to the police in New York. While Jabbari was arrested for assaulting Majors, the prosecution has yet to bring charges.
TMZ reports that Grace Jabbari, who accused Jonathan Majors of assaulting her, was hit with a countering complaint this past June. She turned herself in at the NYPD’s 10th Precinct on Wednesday (October 25).

The outlet goes on to add that the Manhattan district attorney’s office filed via court papers this past Tuesday (October 24) stating that they will not bring charges against Jabbari.

According to prosecutors, there’s a new development in the domestic violence against embattled TV and movie star Jonathan Majors, who was arrested in Manhattan earlier this year after being accused of assault and aggravated harassment of his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
In a 115-page filing obtained by Variety, prosecutors claim Majors was involved in another incident involving Jabbari, a U.K. citizen, that allegedly occurred in London in September of last year. It’s unclear what happened exactly, but prosecutors are reportedly attempting to get a copy of a London Metropolitan Police report that includes references to medical care that Jabbari received at the time. The legal officials say that whatever is in that file is relevant to their current domestic violence case against Majors, who was in London at the time of the alleged incident filming season two of the Disney+ Marvel series Loki.
From Variety:
This development comes a day before Majors has to return to court for his domestic violence case. Wednesday’s court appearance is expected to be one of the final pre-trial hearings before the judge rules on whether to proceed with or dismiss the case.
The lengthy filing from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office is in response to the actor’s motion to dismiss the case. It does not entirely lay out the D.A.’s case, though it is intended to provide enough detail to move the case toward trial.
The DA’s office is also claiming Majors’ lawyers leaked and misrepresented court evidence, and that they even tried to get the police to create a wanted poster with Jabbari’s photo. The filing also shows prosecutors are not launching a case against Jabbari, who Majors’ legal team claimed actually physically abused their client, not the other way around.
Furthermore, while it’s been reported that the March 25 incident began when Jabbari read a text on Majors’ phone that indicated he was cheating, so she took his phone, the filing gets a little more detailed in regards to what the DA says took place.
More from Variety:
She allegedly took the phone out of his hands to see who sent the message. Majors then “began grabbing the right side of Ms. Jabbari’s body and prying Ms. Jabbari’s right middle finger off the phone, causing bruising, swelling, and substantial pain.” The filing continues that Majors “then grabbed Ms. Jabbari’s arm and right hand and proceeded to twist Ms. Jabbari’s forearm, causing substantial pain to her finger and arm. The defendant then struck Ms. Jabbari’s right ear, causing a laceration to the back of her ear and substantial pain.”
After he retrieved his phone, Majors exited the vehicle and Jabbari attempted to follow the actor. That’s when “the defendant grabbed her, picked her up, and threw her back inside … [and] sustained substantial pain, including a fractured finger, bruising about her body, a laceration behind her right ear, and a bump on her head,” according to the filing.
Prosecutors also denied that there’s any video evidence clearing Majors and implicating Jabbari.

Jonathan Majors is currently embroiled in a domestic violence case that has seen court proceedings delayed time and again, but the actor is back in the public eye. In what some users on X are calling curiously timed, Jonathan Majors was seen on video breaking up a fight between two high schoolers and the negative reactions have been relentless.
In a video obtained by TMZ, the clip shows two young students fighting one another at Hollywood High School when Jonathan Majors comes into the shot and gets the pair to stop fighting but not before they kept trying to go at one another. The outlet spoke with Majors in West Hollywood sometime after the fight and the actor said that he just wanted to make sure the young students were okay.
Given that Majors is in need of a major PR makeover, some on X, formerly known as Twitter, believe that the timing of the fight video and the clip itself raised more questions than anything. As TMZ noted, the school is across from the famous burger chain In-N-Out and apparently that’s where Majors was during this scuffle.
While the video is somewhat blurry, Majors towered over the students, and his customary puffy hat was also in tow. Still, despite the intentions laid out by the star, folks on X are simply not having it and the jokes have commenced.
However, to Majors’ credit, the fight was definitely real after several students and a Hollywood High School confessions page confirmed the facts. We doubt that Majors’ PR team would stoop this low anyway, but stranger things have happened.
We’ve got a few X replies for you to peruse below. Make your own determination.

Six months after the initial incident, Jonathan Majors’ trial for domestic abuse has been delayed again.
On Wednesday (September 6th), Majors appeared via video conference link as his legal team of Priya Chaudhry and Seth Zuckerman were in a New York courtroom along with Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway. While the prosecution declared that they were ready for trial (their expressed unreadiness at an August hearing caused the previous delay), Zuckerman stated: “We have written to the prosecutor regarding deficiencies” which were listed in a certificate of compliance filed with the court by the DA’s office and said they were “not yet ready”.
Judge Rachel S. Pauley heard from the prosecution and defense, who said they were still in communication on the issue. The judge then set a new date of September 15 for the trial, addressing the Creed III actor to let him know that he would have to be present for the trial once it begins. “Between now and the next court date no contact whatsoever with the complainant in this case, and stay in touch with your attorneys,” she told him before saying, “Good luck.” Majors responded, “Yes ma’am.” The hearing was short, and Harlem actress Meagan Good (who accompanied Majors to his previous hearing) was also absent from the courtroom.
Once a rising star, Jonathan Majors has seen his opportunities dissipate after being arrested in March on charges of harassment, strangulation, and assault of his then 30-year-old girlfriend as part of a domestic dispute. Chaudhry told the press at that time that the Lovecraft Country actor was“completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows”.”
He was dropped by his 360 Entertainment management company and the Lede Company PR team in April. He also had been dropped from ad campaigns such as the Army’s recent launch that month, and other film opportunities were pulled. Majors is still signed on with Marvel and is slated to appear in the second season of Loki, which will air in October on Disney Plus, and in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, as Kang The Conqueror.

Jonathan Majors will have to wait until next month to begin his anticipated trial on charges of domestic violence, as ordered by the court.
On Thursday (Aug. 3), the Creed III actor appeared before Judge Michael Gaffey in court in Manhattan, New York. The hearing would be brief. “The people are not ready for trial today,” Assistant District Attorney Kelli Gallaway said to the judge. Judge Gaffey remarked, “Time will continue to run against the people.” He then set the date for proceedings to begin Sept. 6.
Majors’ trial was set to begin today before the reassigning of the new date. Judge Gaffey reminded the actor to abide by the order of protection barring him from any sort of contact with the accuser. “Yes, sir,” Majors responded simply while holding a Bible and notebook. He and his defense team, along with his new girlfriend, Harlem actress Meagan Good, (who also accompanied him to his June 20 hearing) would be dismissed afterward.
The actor’s lead defense attorney, Priya Chaudhry, quickly issued a statement afterward. “One hundred and thirty-one days ago, authorities unjustly cuffed Jonathan Majors in his own home, hauling him off to jail based on the word of a woman now hunted by the NYPD,” the statement began. “For an excruciating four months, Jonathan Majors, the real victim in this shameful ordeal, has had his life, career, and reputation torn apart,” Chaudhry said. “Yet he remains unwavering in his determination to be absolved from this harrowing ordeal.”
Chaudhry also put the blame on the prosecution for the delay of the trial, saying that she had received a two-terabyte hard drive of evidence from their team on Wednesday (Aug. 2). She also claimed that the New York Police Department was poised to arrest the ex-girlfriend accusing Majors the moment she “sets foot back in New York.” Reportedly, the woman currently resides in the United Kingdom.
The news of the trial comes as questions still linger about Majors’ career opportunities going forward. The 33-year-old actor faces up to a year in prison if convicted of misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment. Disney has released the latest trailer for the second season of its acclaimed Loki series, which will air on Disney Plus this October. Majors will feature prominently in the show as Victor Timely, the ancestor of his Kang The Conqueror character.
