Actress Zoe Saldaña might be done with her character of Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but she’s hoping that fans of Guardians of the Galaxy can keep the series alive as it holds a special place in her heart.

According to the Playlist, Zoe Saldaña touched on the subject in an upcoming interview on their The Discourse podcast and said she’d hope to see Guardians of the Galaxy return to the big screen in the future even if she’s not a part of the team. Though the return of Chris Pratt’s Starlord character was teased at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the future of the franchise remains unknown as both Zoe Saldaña and Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer) have both said they’re done with the franchise.
Still, the Colombiana actress would love to see another installment of GOTG at some point in the future.
Per the Playlist:

“I mean, so far, I think that she is [gone for good] for me, but I don’t think Gamora has gone for good,” she explained.
The actress clearly has great affection for the series, too, and hopes that it’ll return one day and she’ll be first in line to buy a ticket.
“I would think it would be a huge loss for Marvel if they didn’t find a way to bring back ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy,’” she said. “It’s just such a fan-favorite group of misfits, you know? And then at the helm, they had a voice like James Gunn’s writing—which is just so marvelous for and very specific for this genre. And it’s so great for this genre as well. So, I would be the first one in the first row to sort of celebrate when the Guardians of the Galaxy come back.”
As Marvel fans we’d much rather see Captain America (Chris Evans) and/or Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) return to the big screen, but that’s just us. No shots to Guardians of the Galaxy.
Truth be told there is a slight chance that Marvel does bring back the original Guardians of the Galaxy team at some point as their much hyped Avengers: Secret Wars is set to be a blockbuster event that brings in superheroes from past films from various Marvel franchises. Unfortunately, Secret Wars isn’t set to release until 2028, so we have quite some time before we find out whether Zoe Saldaña will have her wish come true.

What do y’all think? Would y’all like to see another Guardians of the Galaxy film with a new team, or are y’all good with what James Gunn gave y’all with his trilogy? Let us know in the comments section below.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been struggling as of late with it’s popularity but with Deadpool & Wolverine hoping to right the ship that’s been seemingly sinking over the past few years, the MCU is gearing up for a comeback starting in 2025.

One of the films that Marvel is hoping will appease their hardcore fanbase is the upcoming Thunderbolts which features an all-star cast including Harrison Ford, Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Sebastian Stan amongst others, and with production on the film underway, Pugh gave fans a sneak peak at what to expect. Taking to her Instagram page in her full Yelena Belova attire (a.k.a the new Black Widow), Pugh posted a video of herself onset and walked viewers through the set of the Jake Schreier directed film.

“Hey guys, how are you doing? I know I’ve dropped off for a little bit, but that’s partially because I was whisked off to Atlanta to shoot a movie that I’m not really supposed to talk about, but I can show you things, sneakily, as long as you don’t tell anyone…I can show you a sneak peek of the set. They’re shooting. I’ll be quiet now.”
Show fans some of the film’s sets and even the director at work, Pugh gave fans a little bit of hope that this film won’t be a complete bomb as recent MCU films have been.
Unfortunately she didn’t mention whether or not we’d be getting the Red Hulk (Harrison Ford) in Thunderbolts as is rumored, but if Marvel knows what’s good for them they will give fans the red monstrosity that they’ve been demanding since the film was announced.
Check out Florence Pugh’s video below and let us know if you’ll be checking for Marvel’s Thunderbolts when it premiers on May 2, 2025.

With much hype surrounding the eventual introduction of the X-Men into the now struggling Marvel Cinematic Universe and what role they’ll play in the forthcoming Avengers: Secret Wars film, many assumed that Patrick Stewart’s Professor X wouldn’t be a part of the MCU’s future due to his death in Doctor Strange 2.

Well, that may not be the case. During an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Patrick Stewart spoke about Professor X’s fate in the Marvel Universe. He left everyone with a glimmer of hope that we’d once again see arguably the most powerful mutant in the world once again roll alongside the X-Men.

Though we’ve seen Professor X take a few fatalities over the decades in films such as X-Men: The Last Stand and more recently, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Patrick Stewart told Horowitz that he has “every confidence” in the notion that Professor X is “still around” somewhere in the MCU. In saying that alone, one has to figure that he’s had talks with Marvel Studios to reprise his role as Charles Xavier at some point in the future.
Continuing to talk about his cameo in Doctor Strange, Stewart also admitted that he found it to be “frustrating and disappointing” as the film was shot during the COVID pandemic and everything was filmed with everyone else’s safety in mind. “I was alone. I think that the big scene, each one of the leading actors had the same experience. They were shot on their own.”
Hopefully we’ll see Professor X alongside Wolverine, Spider-Man and other MCU stars alongside each other in a future project at some point. Lord knows the MCU can use that kind of boost to put butts in seats at the movie theaters like they used to in their heyday.
Check out Patrick Stewart talk about his experience on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness below, and let us know if you’d like to see him as Professor X one more time (or more) in the comments section below.

After Jonathan Majors was given the pink slip by Marvel Studios after being found guilty of domestic abuse this past December, many wondered if his Kang The Conqueror character in the MCU would be recast or removed altogether.

After rumors that Marvel was looking to replace the character with Dr. Doom as the main villain going forward, it seems like that may not be the case as a well-known Hollywood actor is said to be in the running to replace Majors as Kang The Conqueror in future MCU projects.

According to CBR, Fear the Walking Dead star Colman Domingo is being eyed as the top choice to take on the mantle of Kang and see the storyline that began in Season 1 of Loki through. Originally played by Jonathan Majors in the 2021 Disney+ series, Kang The Conqueror was poised to be the next big baddy of the Marvel Universe and was supposed to carry that title until the end of Phase 5. Now that Majors is on the outs, it seems like Domingo may be poised to make his MCU debut and give us a whole new take on The Conqueror.
CBR reports:
This has not been verified, and for now, it’s best to treat the rumor with a grain of salt. With that noted, the rumor is quickly getting attention online as fans discuss the idea of Domingo in the role. The actor is best known to Walking Dead fans for his role as Victor Strand in the first spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead, which just recently wrapped up its run, freeing up Domingo’s schedule in a big way. He also impressed critics with his acclaimed role in the Netflix movie Rustin, which earned Domingo a Golden Globe Award. Domingo would also win a Primetime Emmy Award for his guest role on HBO’s hit series Euphoria.
The man is an amazing actor, but we lowkey got used to Jonathan Majors’ iteration of the classic Marvel villain. He’s got his work cut out for him. Still, it is possible that Marvel decides to go the Dr. Doom route as fans have been begging for Dr. Victor Von Doom to make his proper MCU debut for years already.
Regardless, Marvel has to get this right as interest in Marvel films and series have waned over the past few years thanks to subpar films like The Eternals and Thor: Love and Thunder. If they want to recharge the hype for the MCU, then Domingo’s going to have to be one helluva Kang, or Dr. Doom will have to make a big splash to get the streets talking and everyone running to theaters.

What do y’all think of Colman Domingo taking on the role of Kang The Conqueror? Should Marvel recast the role at all, or move on to a new villain? Let us know in the comments section below.

From the look of things it seems like Marvel’s latest film The Marvels is going to struggle something serious as it’s pre-sales for movie tickets trail those of both The Flash and Black Adam, which both went on to bomb ridiculously at the box office.

Still, Marvel Studios is hoping to build some buzz for the film which is slated to release this Friday (November 10) and in their latest trailer give fans something to look forward to in the form of a surprise cameo. No, it’s not any X-Men as has been rumored for weeks, nor is it Thor as many have suspected as well, but it is an Asgardian that has endeared herself to fans over the past few years.

In the final trailer for The Marvels, we get a glimpse of Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie who seems to be giving Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel a pep-talk before going into battle with the film’s protagonist, Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton). While we don’t know if Valkyrie will actually take up arms, at least we know she’ll be doing some talking in what may be the biggest bomb that Marvel Studios has put out to date.
Still, fans are indeed holding out hope that with incursions being a big theme of this film, that rumors of an X-Men cameo or even Galactus making an appearance come to fruition. We doubt it, but regardless we’re sure hardcore day-one Marvel fans will be heading to theaters just in case any of these rumors do come true.
Check out the final trailer for The Marvels below and let us know if you’ll be checking this out when it hits theaters this Friday in the comment section below.

It isn’t necessarily over for one of the MCU’s most beloved characters. Jeremy Renner says he would return as Hawkeye after his serious injury.

As per The Direct, the Modesto, Calif. native recently attended the Phoenix Fan Fusion convention in Arizona this past Friday (June 2).

While discussing matters, he was asked if he would consider returning to the Marvel Comic Universe to which he responded, “If Marvel wants me back, I’ll do it in a heartbeat.”

Renner went on to add he “isn’t going anywhere”.
While was reported to be in great spirits doing the appearance his 2023 started off very rocky.
At the very top of the year, Renner suffered serious trauma to his chest and other parts of the body when he was run over by a snowplow at his Nevada home. The local Washoe County sheriff detailed the machine as “an extremely large piece of snow removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds.” Renner went under surgery immediately according to his publicist shortly after the incident.

Renner has starred in several films but is most known for his role as Hawkeye in the television series of the same name. The show only ran for one season in 2021 but was well-received by fans. Additionally, he has made cameos in multiple MCU films including Thor, The Avengers, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and most recently Avengers: Endgame.
Representatives at Marvel have yet to comment on Jeremy Renner. You can watch Hawkeye on Disney+.

Marvel’s 2023 is off to a rare bad start. First Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania didn’t make that much noise at the box office, then Jonathan Majors caught a domestic violence case, and now one of the company’s longtime execs is gone.

The firing of Victoria Alonso by Marvel Studios sent shockwaves throughout Hollywood. Reports were all over the place regarding the reasoning behind her abrupt exit from the company.

As seen on CBR via Variety’s initial reporting, One report claimed her termination had to do with the “allegations she had created a hostile work environment for Marvel’s visual effects department, which she oversaw as the studio’s President of Physical, Post Production, VFX and Animation.”
The website also reports Alonso got the boot for working on a documentary, Argentina 1985, with Disney/Marvel’s competitor Amazon Studios as a producer. Alonso’s attorney, Patty Glaser, hit back against those allegations saying, “Victoria, a gay Latina who had the courage to criticize Disney, was silenced.”
Glaser also said Alonso “was terminated when she refused to do something she believed was reprehensible. Disney and Marvel made a really poor decision that will have serious consequences.” She also notes Alonso vocally criticized former Disney CEO Bob Chapek over his waffling on Florida’s stupid “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
Other Reporting Claims Disney Had A Legit Reason For Firing Victoria Alonso
Reporting on the firing claims that Marvel let Alonso go for a contract breach, according to Heroic Hollywood, via Puck News.
Per Heroic Hollywood:
The report points out that Disney could have simply paid her out for any number of reasons, according to the recent backlash against Marvel VFX in the public eye. According to Puck’s Matthew Belloni, the dispute first came up in mid-2021 while renegotiating Alonso’s contract, with Disney discovering she had been producing Argentina, 1985 for Amazon Studios, a direct competitor.
Despite this breach, Disney granted leeway to Alonso due to her tenure at Marvel Studios and allowed her to keep her name on the project as long as she didn’t promote it. In the following months, Alonso would give an interview to Indiewire about the project, as well as attend the BAFTAs in London. These incidents are what ultimately led Disney to let Alonso go.
Whatever the case is, Alonso was part of the epic ride that is the MCU for 17 years. She was the co-producer and visual effects producer for 2008’s Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger.
For her hard work, she got a promotion to become an executive producer for The Avengers. While things seem shaky between Marvel Studios and Alonso, Puck news also reports Alonso and Disney are working on a settlement.

We will continue to monitor this situation to see how it plays out.

We’re still a ways away from once again indulging in the violent adventures of the MCU’s “Man Without Fear” as Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again series has yet to begin filming. (Shooting begins this month in New York.) But already fans have more reason to get excited as another fan favorite is set to return in the new season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Bernthal will be reprising his role as The Punisher in the upcoming Daredevil series, joining Daredevil alumni, Vincent D’Onofrio, as he’s returning as The Kingpin in Born Again as well. While many Marvel fans have taken to social media to celebrate the news of Bernthal’s return, just as many expressed disappointment and anger at the news that neither Foggy (Elden Henson) nor Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) will be a part of Disney+’s “rebooted” series.

Related Stories

Still, as much as we loved what both Karen and Foggy brought to the series, we still much rather see The Punisher involved in the next season of Daredevil than a love interest and comic relief (no shots). With 18 episodes said to be in the chamber for Daredevil: Born Again, we hope The Punisher plays a significant role in what the blind superhero has to fight through in the new series.
Born Again follows Netflix’s Daredevil series that ran for three seasons from 2013-18. That was known as the Netflix era of Marvel television and was back when the series side was not integrated with Marvel’s movie side. Marvel TV, then run by Jeph Loeb, produced a number of series for Netflix, including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist on top of Daredevil and Punisher. Netflix canceled its Marvel shows ahead of the late 2019 launch of the competing streaming service, Disney+.
Bernthal and his co-stars, it seemed, were done with Marvel. But in January 2021, Marvel boss Kevin Feige told THR he considered the Netflix characters to still be in play, and by the end of the year, Cox was revealed to have a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and went on to appear in She-Hulk. His Daredevil co-star D’Onofrio appeared in Hawkeye, and both Cox and D’Onofrio are key figures in the upcoming Echo, a series said to set the stage for Born Again.
Hopefully Disney+ doesn’t hold back on the fades that both Daredevil and The Punisher became known for back when they were running the MCU chamber on Netflix. That’s something that Bernthal acknowledged in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter back in 2021 when speaking on Frank Castle joining the official MCU.
“I think if there’s any let up on that character, you do a disservice to the character, to every iteration of the character, to every comic book that’s come before, and to all of the unbelievable fans of the character,” said the actor. “This character means so much to people in the military. So like I said before, it’s not about whether you do the character; it’s about whether you can do it right, and I’m only interested in doing it right.”

Here’s to hoping they let The Punisher, well, punish his enemies in the extreme ways he’s known for.

With the success of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, the MCU once again seems to be back on track for a successful run and are hoping to make their upcoming Thunderbolts movie it’s latest blockbuster hit by adding another familiar face to it’s growing roster.

Deadline is reporting that Marvel has just cast The Walking Dead alumni and fan favorite actor, Steven Yeun (a.k.a. Glenn) to the cast of Thunderbolts which already includes heavy hitters such as Harrison Ford (General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross/Red Hulk), Florence Pugh (Black Widow), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) and David Harbour (Red Guardian) amongst others. Though the character he’ll be playing hasn’t been revealed, it’s being reported that he will be playing a “significant” role in the film and could actually become a mainstay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward.

Jake Schreier is set as director of the new Marvel tentpole. Black Widow scribe Eric Pearson is penning the script, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige producing. Not much is known about the plot of the film, but in the comics, it revolves around a group of villains who are sent on missions commissioned by the government.
Since leaving his hit TV show The Walking Dead, Yeun has not boxed himself in to any specific role and done a strong job of building out a diversified slate of various kinds of projects. His starring role in A24’s Minari, earned him not only his best reviews of his career but his first Oscar nomination for best actor in a leading role. He would follow that up with the Jordan Peele tentpole Nope, which went on to become one of the big hits of the summer.
You have to wonder who Yeun will be playing in the MCU and just how important he’ll be to the universe going forward. As for who the Thunderbolts will be taking on in their upcoming movie, rumors have it that the super villain known as the Sentry will be the film’s antagonist and Marvel Studios have their eyes on either Alexander Skarsgård or Ryan Gosling to take on the role. Whether or not that will be the case is anyone’s guess, but it would be pretty cool to see one of these actors join the MCU even if it’s only for one film.
Until we get some more solid information on what’s going on with Marvel Studios Thunderbolts film, everything will be left to speculation but until then you can expect all kinds of theories and rumors to fill the air and have us either excited or shaking our heads.

Who do you think Steven Yeun will be playing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Keep in mind just because he’s Asian doesn’t mean it will be an Asian character as Marvel has a history of changing up the ethnicities of some of their fan favorite comic book characters. Sound off in the comments section below.

As Marvel continues to chug along with their massively successful cinematic universe and get Phase 5 of their plan underway, Deadline is reporting that their upcoming film, Thunderbolts, just added a new actress to their impressive roster. Details are being kept under wraps for now.

According to the report, Marvel has just signed The Bear breakout star, Ayo Edebiri, to take part in the Thunderbolts film in an undisclosed role. Edebiri joins an all-star cast that already includes Harrison Ford, Sebastian Stan, Hannah John-Kamen, Wyatt Russell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Olga Kurylenko. Fans are curious as to what role and which comic book character (if any) Edebiri will take on in the Jake Schreier directed film.

Related Stories

Regardless to whom or what though, this is a great look for the up and coming star who’s been making a name for herself in the acting game as of late.
The project marks Edebiri first major studio starring role. She plays Sydney Adamu in The Bear, earning a Critics Choice Award nomination, and is expected to be a player in this year’s Emmy race. Season 2 will premiere this summer on FX on Hulu.
On the film side, she recently appeared in Theater Camp opposite Ben Platt, which just had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. The film became one of the bigger sales at the fest, with Searchlight landing rights to distribute.
Should be interesting to see what Marvel has in store for Ayo Edebiri in Thunderbolts. Aside from starring the aforementioned actors in their already established Marvel superhero roles (Bucky Barnes a.k.a. The Winter Soldier (Stan), Ava Starr a.k.a. Ghost (John-Kamen), John Walker a.k.a. U.S. Agent (Russell), Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Louis-Dreyfus), Yelena Belova a.k.a Black Widow (Pugh), Alexei Shostakov a.k.a. The Red Guardian (Harbour) and Antonia Dreykov a.k.a. Taskmaster (Kurylenko), little is known about the actual plot of Marvel’s Phase 5 film.
What we do know is that Harrison Ford will be taking on the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross after the character’s original actor, William Hurt, passed away last year. Ford will be making his MCU debut in Captain America 4: New World Order where he’s said to be the President of The United States while also being the film’s antagonist against Anthony Mackie’s Captain America. Only question fans have is will Ford turn into the Red Hulk in Captain America 4 or the Thunderbolts?
Who do you think Ayo Edebiri will be playing in Thunderbolts? Will you be checking for the film when it drops July 26, 2024? Let us know in the comments section below.
