Tony Buzbee, the high-profile attorney representing the alleged victims of Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z, is facing a heavy accusation himself. A woman has launched a lawsuit against Tony Buzbee alleging that the Texas lawyer gave her a sexually transmitted infection (STI).
As reported by TMZ, the lawsuit filed by Jane Doe in New York Superior Court claims that Tony Buzbee has been connected with her since 2018 after initially meeting online. Doe wrote in the filing that Buzbee interacted with her to the point of convincing her to go on a date and travel to his hometown of Houston for a night out.

Doe stated further in the filing that Buzbee booked a hotel room and laid on the charm before the pair engaged in intercourse. Doe claims that Bubzee failed to disclose his status and passed on the unnamed STI to her. The next day, Doe says she noticed pain around her groin area, and after an examination, the STI diagnosis was revealed. Doe says she contacted Buzbee, who allegedly apologized and appeared to note that he knew of his status before having sex with the woman.
Despite the diagnosis, Doe continued to date Buzbee despite feeling shame about the matter. She also claims that Buzbee used his power and influence to manipulate and control Doe on his terms and to keep his disease a secret from the public.
Buzbee told TMZ that the lawsuit from Jane Doe is a shakedown tactic connected to his pursuit of Combs, calling the claim “false, frivolous, laughable and ridiculous” and believes it will be dismissed.
Tony Buzbee was sued for assault in November for allegedly using a champagne flute as a weapon according to a former client of his.

Days after the woman accusing Jay-Z and Diddy of rape back in 2000 admitted that she may have misremembered crucial details about the incident, Jay-Z’s lawyer is pouncing on the admission and is filing a motion to have the lawsuit dismissed entirely.

According to Deadline, Jay’s legal representative, Alex Spiro, is looking to get his client off the hook as Jane Doe admitted that she was “guessing” specific details about the night in question and wrote a letter to the judge overseeing the case calling it all a “sham” of a lawsuit. While Jay-Z promised to fight the allegations in a court of justice and even implored Jane Doe’s attorney, Anthony Buzbee, to file a criminal suit instead of a civil one, it seems like it may not even come to that as Jane Doe has damaged her own case by the statements she made during her NBC interview last week.
Per Deadline:

“These stunning revelations make clear that the complaint filed by plaintiffs’ attorney, Anthony Buzbee, therefore had no factual basis whatsoever,” the Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan partner added. “Even Mr. Buzbee is walking back the complaint he put his name to – excusing these glaring inconsistencies by pointing the finger at the case being referred by another firm who allegedly vetted the story before sending to them. The heinous allegations against Mr. Carter are patently false.”
Leaning hard into his take-no-prisoners persona, Spiro also went for the jugular in his letter of late last week by questioning the ethics and jurisdictional rights of Houston-based Buzbee, who has filed dozens of suits against Combs and says he has over 100 clients with sexual assault allegations against the Bad Boy Records founder. “Mr. Buzbee thus appears to have strategically declined to seek admission in order to avoid sanctions for a complaint that he knew had no factual basis,” says the high-profile Spiro in the three-page correspondence to NYC-based Judge Analisa Torres.
While many Jay-Z haters rejoiced after the rape allegation took social media by storm just a few weeks ago, Jay was quick to deny the accusation and called the lawsuit an attempt at blackmail. Since then, Jane Doe’s story has seemingly fallen apart. Not only have many people said that Jay-Z and Diddy didn’t even hang out on the night in question, but the accuser’s own father (whom she said picked her up after the alleged incident) said he didn’t remember doing so that night.
Whether or not the case gets dismissed remains to be seen, but what is obvious is that Jay-Z and his lawyer are prepared to fight this accusation to the bitter end as Jay has promised Buzbee he wouldn’t get “one red penny” from his pockets over this lawsuit.

What do y’all think about this latest development in the Jay-Z rape case? Sound off in the comments section below.

Jay-Z has responded to a Jane Doe who accused him and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping her when she was 13 in 2000, this after the woman gave an exclusive interview acknowledging inconsistencies in her story. The woman contends that the assault did take place but said she made “mistakes” in delivering her account of the incident which prompted Jay-Z’s response.

NBC News exclusively spoke with Jane Doe, who now resides in Alabama, who retold her story regarding what she referred to as the “catastrophic event” that took place 24 years ago. Doe told the network that she “made some mistakes” and her attorney, Tony Buzbee, is attempting to vet her account via his resources.

Of note, Doe claimed that her father picked up up after the alleged assault that occurred after the 2000 MTV VMAs but the woman’s father says he has no recollection of doing so. The woman also said she spoke to a celebrity at the afterparty where the alleged assault took place but the celebrity revealed he was not in New York during the VMAs. Further, photos came forth showing Jay-Z and Diddy at a location that differed from the woman Doe detailed in her initial claim.|
In a statement from Jay-Z, the Brooklyn rapper and businessman continued his vocal critique of Buzbee, who he is accusing of treating the claim and lawsuit as a money grab.
“Today’s investigative report proves this ‘attorney’ Buzbee filed a false complaint against me in the pursuit of money and fame. This incident didn’t happen and yet he filed it in court and doubled down in the press. True justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn’t realize it yet, but, soon,” the statement read.
Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro added, “It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting, but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press. We are asking the Court to dismiss this frivolous case today, and will take up the matter of additional discipline for Mr. Buzbee and all the lawyers that filed the complaint.”
Buzbee claims that Jane Doe’s case was a referral from another firm outside his own and said that Doe’s statements were vetted, according to an email he sent to NBC News.

Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before 50 Cent got to talking about the rape allegation Jay-Z was recently hit with, and sure enough, he’s having a good ol’ time with Hova’s latest legal issue.

After teasing his thoughts by asking if the Super Bowl was still going down due to Jay-Z being accused of raping a 13-year-old at a 2000 VMA’s afterparty, 50 Cent decided to go a bit further with the jokes. According to TMZ, 50 Cent took another swipe at the Hip-Hop icon in a now-deleted post, which featured Jay, Beyoncé and Blue Ivy attending the premier of Mufasa: The Lion King with a caption that read, “Jay said they said I raped a kid, everybody get dressed we going to see Mufasa LOL.”
Y’all know 50 petty as hell.

To further throw some gasoline on that burning fire, 50 decided to post an AI-generated video of Jay-Z and Diddy getting arrested by the police at a fancy soiree and being led off in handcuffs with a caption that read, “I wanna post this but I’m afraid I’m gonna get shot. LOL”

While 50 isn’t necessarily accusing Jay of being guilty of any of the allegations, he does seem content simply roasting Jay for the time being.
While we doubt Jay will publicly say anything about 50’s posts, we wouldn’t be surprised if Hova or his team is reaching out to 50 to tell him to fall back from the situation. Then again, they probably won’t as they don’t want to give someone like 50 more material to work with on social media because 50 would let the world know that he’s hit a nerve with Jay and his peoples.
Jay-Z for his part hasn’t only denied the allegation but implored to have the lawsuit changed from civil to a criminal as he wants to go to trial to clear his name.
What do y’all think of 50 Cent taking swipes at Jay-Z like this? Fair or foul? Let us know in the comments section below.

Jay-Z was named in a civil lawsuit brought against Sean “Diddy” Combs and was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl while attending a music industry afterparty back in 2000. Jay-Z has since filed to have the lawsuit case dismissed, citing that the attorney representing Jane Doe in the matter is attempting a financial shakedown and is asking that the identity of Doe be revealed.
In a new report from Page Six, Jay-Z, 55, has filed documents in court that took aim at Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee and levies a claim of his own that the lawsuit was an attempt to force the rapper and entrepreneur to pay a large sum of cash to make it all go away.

“That campaign was cynical and calculated to force payment of an exorbitant sum of money—Defendant would have to pay X millions of dollars irrespective of the truth, or else,” a portion of the doc said, which was obtained by the outlet.
“When Defendant refused to pay and instead took measures to establish his innocence, this unnamed Plaintiff and her self-promoting counsel (whose name has been splashed across headlines and press conferences under auspices of representing her) went to extraordinary lengths to shut down fair defense,” the doc continues.
“These claims are not about justice for victims. Nor are they about giving victims of sexual violence a voice. Instead, they are merely the next chapter in Attorney [Tony] Buzbee’s sprawling extortion saga—a saga whose aim is base and measured in dollars,” the doc also adds.
Jay-Z’s side wants the judge in the matter to reveal the name of Jane Doe to the public, stating that the accuser’s legal team has not provided sufficient evidence to justify the anonymity.
Buzbee, Doe’s attorney, gave a statement to Page Six regarding the matter.
“Sending a basic litigation demand letter and then filing a lawsuit isn’t extortion or blackmail. That’s the legal practice.
Buzbee added that his side “won’t get bogged down in a silly sideshow that tries to make the lawyers the focus of what are very serious allegations brought by a courageous woman.”
In the court of public opinion, reactions to the lawsuit claims have grown legs, with some already announcing Jay-Z is guilty as charged before the matter has been heard. Others, such as 50 Cent, have taken to social media to take shots. Others are saying that as more details emerge, the truth will be revealed in an attempt to show grace.

On Sunday (Dec. 8), the Hip-Hop culture was shocked when it was revealed that Jay-Z was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in a civil lawsuit against Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. While most lawyers advise their clients to keep quiet in such cases, Hova, allegedly, went on the offensive.

In a statement shared on Roc Nation’s X account, he suggested that attorney Tony Buzbee was “blackmailing” him with the lawsuit.

That in turn prompted Buzbee to respond in kind. The lawyer representing “Jane Doe” in the latest lawsuit against Diddy took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to push back against Jay-Z’s claim of blackmail by stating that Jay got himself in this pickle by suing Buzbee for trying to inquire about the situation in general. In his post Buzbee wrote, “Regarding the Jay Z case and his efforts to silence my clients: Mr. Carter previously denied being the one who sued me and my firm. He filed his frivolous case under a pseudonym.”
As for Jay saying that Buzbee was “blackmailing” him with this case, Buzbee added, “What he fails to say in his recent statement is my firm sent his lawyer a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim and that victim never demanded a penny from him. Instead, she only sought a confidential mediation.”
Buzbee then went on to say Jay and his team tried to intimidate him and his client and wrote, “Since I sent the letter on her behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but he has tried to bully and harass me and this plaintiff. His conduct has had the opposite impact. She is emboldened. I’m very proud of her resolve. As far as the allegations in the complaint filed, we will let the filing speak for itself and will litigate the facts in court, not in the media.”

In the statement in which Jay-Z accused Buzbee of blackmailing him, Jay not only denied the allegations but went so far as to dare the lawyer to file a criminal complaint instead of a civil one and said, “Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” After calling Buzbee a “deplorable human” and “ambulance chaser in a cheap suit,” Jay ended the statement and said, “I look forward to showing you how different I am.”

Jay-Z wants all this legal smoke to clear his name.
In the lawsuit, Jane Doe claims that both Jay-Z and Diddy raped her at a 2000 MTV VMAs afterparty when she was 13-years-old as another female celebrity watched.
Needless to say, Jay-Z haters celebrated the lawsuit on social media while Jay-Z fans also suggested this could be a shakedown and are awaiting all of the evidence to be presented before abandoning ship.
50 Cent for his part isn’t weighing in but wonders if this lawsuit will effect the Super Bowl.

Y’all knew 50 Cent wasn’t going to not say anything.
What do y’all think about this latest bombshell? Do y’all think Jay-Z is being blackmailed, or is karma catching up to the pop culture icon? Sound off in the comments section below.

Jay-Z was named in a refiled civil lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs on Sunday (Dec. 8) with the complaint accusing the rapper and mogul of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2000. The complaint was originally filed against Diddy back in October of this year and was readjusted to include Jay-Z’s name in the most recent filing.
In an exclusive report from NBC News, the complaint, filmed by an unnamed accuser, claims that Jay-Z, real name Shawn Corey Carter, was involved in the rape of the girl known as Jane Doe in the complaint. The outlet, which has details about the lawsuit, shared the contents within.

Jane Doe accused Combs and Carter of assaulting her at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party event. The lawsuit was filed by Tony Buzbee of Texas in the Southern District of New York. The outlet adds that Carter’s attorney, Alex Spiro, and other media representatives have yet to comment on the claim. In addition, reps for Combs also decided against offering comments. It is the first lawsuit filed by Buzbee to include a celebrity of Jay-Z’s magnitude.
The outlet laid out the details of the lawsuit and we must warn that what is explained might be triggering for some so proceed with caution.
Jane Doe claims that in 2000 at the age of 13, she was raped at a house party in New York after the MTV VMAs. Doe says that a friend dropped her off at the VMAs, which was held at the Radio City Music Hall venue. Doe says she asked several limo drivers on the premises for access to the award show or parties.
One driver heeded her call and said that he worked for Combs and that she “fit” the profile of what “Diddy was looking for” and was invited to the after-party. The driver then allegedly picked up Doe and took her to a home in New York and was ordered to sign a nondisclosure agreement to gain entry to the party.
Doe says she was given a drink that made her drowsy and went into a room to rest. She then claims that Combs and Carter came into the room, stating that Carter removed her clothes and sexually assaulted her. Combs allegedly came into the room and also assaulted the girl as Jay-Z and an unnamed woman celebrity watched.
The Roc Nation account on X has posted a response from Carter stating that Buzbee’s lawsuit filing is nothing more than a shakedown. Read below.

Many people tend to forget that British music star M.I.A. was signed to Roc Nation back in 2012. Alhough the relationship dissolved just two years later, M.I.A.’s interaction with Roc Nation boss Jay-Z seems to have left quite an impression on her.

On Friday (Nov. 29), the “Paper Planes” artist took to Instagram Live to spill some disturbing beans about what Jay-Z asked of her when she put her John Hancock on that Roc Nation contract and revealed that Hova actually implored her to get some plastic surgery done.
Word?!

Dispelling any notion that she would need plastic surgery to get over any insecurity she may have, M.I.A. explained why she rebuffed the request saying, “Even when I met Jay-Z and signed to Roc Nation the first thing he told me to do was get plastic surgery. I’m not insecure because I would have got plastic surgery. So their argument of ‘Maya’s f-cking insecure, that’s why she needs to f*cking massage her ego,’ fails. Fails. Because you turn around and ask the mutha*cka – what women do you know who hasn’t had plastic surgery around you? All of them have. I’m the only one who didn’t, which already proves the fact it’s not insecurity.”
We can’t be mad at that at all. If the woman doesn’t want any work done on herself she shouldn’t have any work done even at the behest of her boss.
Continuing to explain herself, M.I.A. said, “Because if I was insecure I would have done that 100 times over. Even when I met Jay-Z and I signed to Roc Nation, the first thing he told me to do is get plastic surgery and I didn’t because it’s okay. Guess what, I’m 50. And I’m totally fine with the fact I am because, yeah, I f*cking took off when I was 30. It took 10 more f-cking years than any other f-cker because I was the first and I was the new. I was making something interesting happen that wasn’t f*cking happening before.”
Well, y’all can expect social media to be disgusted and begin to start going at Hov for trying to get M.I.A. to make some enhancements to herself. That being said, good for her for standing her ground and refusing the request.
According to MadameNoire, the relationship between herself and Roc Nation soured just two years after signing with them in 2012, and from the sound of it, it seems like M.I.A. not playing ball with them might’ve been the reason.

Per MadameNoire:
One of the first major issues was regarding a documentary that was about her. Roc Nation continued to delay the promotion for it and frustrations grew. The director of the project, Steve Loveridge, leaked the trailer for it, which Interscope immediately took down. This led to Loveridge quitting the project.
That next month, M.I.A. threatened to leak Matangi if Interscope wouldn’t stop delaying it and give it a release date.
The 50-year-old explained the reasons behind the delay of her fourth album, originally scheduled for release in December 2012.
According to Fader, in January 2013, months before her warnings, she told Gold Coast Bulletin about her label’s concerns with the project.
“I thought I’d finished it. I finished it and then I handed the record in, like a couple of months ago,” she said. “At the moment, I’ve been told it’s too positive. So we’re having a bit of an issue at the label. They’re like, ‘You need to like darken it up a bit’. I don’t know what it is but as soon as I work that out. I’m taking my time to decide what they mean. It’s an interesting one for me. It’s like ‘We just built you up as the public enemy No. 1 and now you’re coming out with all this positive stuff.’”
M.I.A. ultimately bounced before the end of 2013.
Check out M.I.A. talk about her situation at Roc Nation below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

Jay-Z’s The Book of Hov exhibit at the Brooklyn Public Library last year was a huge hit amongst Hip-Hop fans. Now, anyone who missed out on the exhibition will be able to bring it home as The Book of Hov will be turned into an actual book.

The Associated Press is reporting that the exhibit dedicated to arguably the greatest rapper alive will now be available in print form as The Book of Hov: A Tribute to Jay-Z will be available Wednesday (Dec. 4), as Jay-Z celebrates his 55th year on this Earth. Available to purchase on Assouline, the 432-page book features what the 600,000 visitors of The Book of Hov exhibition saw first-hand at the Brooklyn Public Library divided into eight chapters with 675 illustrations.
Per the AP News:

“The Book of Hov: A Tribute to Jay-Z” unveils Jay-Z’s deep connection with the art world and his rising business ventures, reveals his unique method of composing rhymes mentally and his criminal and social justice activism. It offers a tribute to Baseline Studios where “The Blueprint” and “The Black Album” were birthed. The book also captures him articulating his vision and manifesting his future through a series of interviews spanning several years.
Some of the book’s other highlights include the guitar Jay-Z played at the Glastonbury Festival; Daniel Arsham’s sculpture of the iconic “HOV Hands”; his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame award; and hundreds of paper planes, which were created by New York City schoolchildren who wrote their dreams inside.
“The Book of Hov: A Tribute to Jay-Z” will be available in three editions: The classic version for $120, the ultimate for $2,000 and price upon request for five special limited- edition copies with a tri-fold each housed in a bronze slipcase artwork by Arsham.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the special limited edition will be donated to the Brooklyn Public Library.
We don’t know about y’all, but if we’re putting down $2,000 for a book about Jay-Z it better come with a chance to meet him in person or a golden ticket kind of contest or something. Just sayin’.
