Hailey Bieber is speaking out to stop social media toxicity. Hailey Bieber took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday night (April 19) to get vulnerable about how she’s feeling lately.
“I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time,” she began her message. “But truthfully since 2023 started I have had some of the saddest, hardest moments I’ve ever had in my adult life and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least.. And I know so many other people feel the way I feel so just know you’re not alone.”
She concluded her message on another slide, noting, “That being said, let’s keep being there for one another. Let’s be there for loved ones and friends and family and strangers. Let’s just be there for people.. let’s keep showing up for each other even when it’s hard. We’re better together [white heart emoji].”

While the Rhode founder didn’t specifically address what caused her mental health struggles this year, she has come under scrutiny online over the past few months over an alleged feud with Selena Gomez, who previously dated the model’s husband Justin Bieber.
It all began in February, when Gomez jokingly revealed on TikTok that she’d over-laminated her eyebrows. Kylie Jenner later shared a photo with Hailey, holding the camera close up to their own professional-looking brows. Fans believed that the similarities between the posts meant that the reality star and model were making fun of Gomez.
At the time, Gomez wrote that she’s “a fan of Kylie,” though she also commented on fan-made TikToks shading Hailey, writing “I love you” to one fan who slammed the Rhode founder for being a “nepo baby” and a “mean girl.”
In March, both Gomez and Bieber spoke out about the out of control online discourse. Gomez took to her IG Story to urge fans to stop bullying the model after Hailey reached out to the Only Murders in the Building star to let her know that she’d been receiving death threats and “such hateful negativity.”
Bieber thanked Gomez for her post on her IG Story, writing, “The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this which is extremely harmful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together.”

The six-episode installment features the model sharing recipes for her favorite dishes, including chicken wings and an at-home version of her popular Erewhon Skin Smoothie. “What’s In My Kitchen? was a natural spinoff to Who’s In My Bathroom? because our audience was ready for us to stop eating in the bathroom!” Bieber said in a press statement, per The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve loved cooking and sharing meals with friends on my social channels for years, and I can’t wait to bring this experience to the fans of our network with OBB and HexClad. Creating new formats and IP for my channel has been really empowering, as my team and I get to truly create everything from concept to screen, and I can’t wait for everybody to see what’s next.”
The show will also give back, as Bieber will source her cooking ingredients from Village Market Place from Community Services Unlimited, which works to “address the inequalities and systemic barriers that make sustainable communities and self-reliant life-styles unattainable,” according to their website. Hexclad will also make a donation to the Accion Opportunity Fund, which allows female-owned and POC-owned small businesses in the food industry to leverage $100,000 in microloans.

Bieber’s note comes just hours after Gomez took to her own IG Story to urge fans to stop bullying the Rhode founder, after Hailey reached out to the Only Murders in the Building star to let her know that she’d been receiving death threats and “such hateful negativity.”
“This isn’t what I stand for,” Gomez said unequivocally. “No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.”
Bieber echoed Gomez’s sentiments in her note, writing, “The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this which is extremely harmful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together.”
She continued, “Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself. In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion.”

Rumors of a feud began when Gomez confessed on TikTok in February that she’d over-laminated her eyebrows. Kylie Jenner then shared a photo with her friend Hailey holding the camera close up to their own professional-looking brows.
Fans believed that the similarities between the posts was no coincidence, and that perhaps the reality star and model were making fun of Gomez. “This is reaching,” the Kardashians star commented about the situation on a TikTok. “No shade towards selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly.”
At the time, Gomez added that she’s “a fan of Kylie,” though she has since commented on fan-made TikToks shading Hailey, writing “I love you” to one fan who slammed the Rhode founder for being a “nepo baby” and a “mean girl.” On a resurfaced video of Hailey pretending to gag at the mention of Taylor Swift’s music, Gomez replied, “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”
However, Gomez later encouraged her followers to be more empathetic. “Please, please be kinder and consider others mental health,” Selena commented on one of her recent TikToks sharing her makeup routine. “My heart has been heavy and I only want good for everyone. All my love.”

The duo chat about everything from Hailey’s popular skincare brand Rhode, wardrobe tips, biggest inspirations and much more. At one point, Justin asks his wife what her favorite song is right now. While one might expect her husband’s biggest fan to choose a JB song like “Peaches” or “Intentions,” Hailey instead revealed that SZA‘s Billboard 200 chart topping album, SOS, is what she has on repeat right now. The singer’s sophomore project is currently enjoying its monumental 10th week atop the chart.
She added that her favorite songs off the album are “Snooze” and “Blind,” while Justin reminded her that she also likes “Far.”
“I love ‘Far’ right now, you’re right, that one’s my favorite,” she agreed, before adding that she’s also been loving an unreleased Justin song. “The new song that you just recorded, I can’t stop listening to right now. Nobody knows what that is yet,” she gushed.
Elsewhere in the interview, Hailey sweetly shared her favorite thing about being married to the “Love Yourself” singer. “My favorite thing about being married is honestly the companionship I feel we have,” she told her husband. “Genuinely, you are my best friend in the entire world. There’s nobody I would rather spend more time with or do anything with.”

The term “nepo baby” has been all the rage in Hollywood over the past few weeks, and it appears Hailey Bieber is choosing to wear it with pride.
On Friday (Jan. 6), the model and Rhode skincare founder was snapped by paparazzi wearing a simple cropped white tee with “Nepo Baby” emblazoned across her chest in small black lettering. She paired the midriff-baring top with baggy, light-wash jeans, a small black purse and a sparkly studded belt while her auburn locks were worn loose and parted down the middle.
Of course, most fans know Hailey today as the wife of superstar Justin Bieber, but her maiden name was equally famous throughout Hollywood, considering her dad is actor Stephen Baldwin. (Her equally famous uncles include Alec Baldwin and Billy Baldwin, and the lesser-known Daniel Baldwin.)
Back in November, Bieber shut down rumors she was pregnant on social media by revealing she had an ovarian cyst roughly the size of an apple. “It’s painful and achey and makes me feel nauseous and bloated and crampy and emotional,” she wrote at the time on her Instagram Stories. “Anyways… I’m sure a lot of you can overly relate and understand. We got this.”
Earlier in 2022, the model also laid out the timeline of her early relationship with Bieber, confirming once and for all that she never dated the pop singer while he was involved with Selena Gomez. To make the point crystal clear, she and Gomez even posed for a selfie together at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures 2nd Annual Gala.
