YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Neighbor Wants to Welcome Him Home From Prison With Homemade Cookies

YoungBoy Never Broke Again should be expecting a knock on his door and a fresh batch of homemade cookies some time real soon.

The Baton Rouge rapper — who was sentenced to 23 months in prison last December while already serving time for a prescription fraud case — is back home early in Utah and has armed security patrolling his estate around the clock. However, the road in front of his mansion is a public one, which residents of the area often use to walk their dogs.

His security guards already stopped one neighbor who said their presence “introduces this level of anxiety,” but also called NBA YoungBoy by his real name [Kentrell] and said he was polite when they first crossed paths after his dog attacked her dog last year.

“I was stopped by two guys with bullet-proof vests — security, dressed all in black,” Judy Zone told KUTV. “And one of them had an AK strapped to his chest. It introduces this level of anxiety.”

She then told the outlet that she was mainly surprised because she didn’t realize he was released early. “I didn’t know he was back, you know?” she said. “I didn’t know that Kentrell is back, so I think I’m going to bake him some cookies and bring them over there because we had such a nice chat when his dog attacked my dog.”

And after the reporter suggested that she thought he was a nice guy, she answered, “He’s a very sweet kid. I mean, he’s really young. You know, this is a very young person. … Very kind — he called me ‘ma’am.’”

She added that he told her not to listen to his music and tried to mimic his Southern accent. “I told him I’ve never listened to his music, he said, ‘I don’t recommend it.’ He said, ‘Ma’am, I don’t recommend it.’”

Tyla Has Unreleased Rap Songs in the Stash & Says They’re ‘Hot’

Tyla has bars.

In her recent Nylon cover story, the South African singer revealed that she’s made “full-on rap songs” and plans to share one with fans someday.

When asked if she had a specific pop star she wanted to emulate as a kid, Tyla answered that while she didn’t idolize one specific person, she essentially put all of her influences in a pot and tried to make something different. “I never really studied specific artists,” she said.

“Whatever songs, performances, music videos I liked, I just obsessed over those individual things. It was very broad. Pop stars, rappers, R&B singers. It started with the sound of music I wanted to make, because I knew that I wanted to do something completely different from what I’ve heard before. I was making anything and everything.”

She continued by saying that she has a bunch of songs from different genres that she hasn’t released yet. “I have full-on rap songs,” Tyla admitted. “Full-on R&B. Full-on amapiano. I played a lot and found a mixture that felt like me.”

The “Water” singer was then asked what those raps songs sounded like to which she replied, “I’m not going to lie, it’s hot.”

Adding, “I’m excited to show people that I’m more diverse than they think. I want to take my time with my artistry and give whatever feels right for that moment. So one day, you’re going to get that Tyla rap song.”

Last month, Tyla performed her current hit “Push 2 Start” at the Billboard Women in Music event at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, and accepted the Impact Award for her breakout success. “I just feel very lucky for my fans who have given me such an exciting life, allowing me to grow in front of the world into all the different versions of myself as an artist and as a woman,” she told the crowd.

Nicki Minaj Was Reportedly Targeted in Another Swatting Attack

Nicki Minaj was reportedly the target of a random swatting attack by someone who told police there had been a shooting at her Hidden Hills home.

According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a report of an assault with a deadly weapon on Wednesday (April 9). The person calling claimed a friend had fired shots at a Black adult female at 7:05 p.m., and that two suspects were at the location wearing all black. The incident was later deemed a swatting call, a when a fake 911 report is made in order to activate police response. The Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station watch commander informed the Times no crime had taken place at the residence.

While a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s department did not confirm whether or not it was Nicki’s residence, a neighbor told the Times police had approached Nicki’s home. The call also reportedly came in via the business line, making it harder to trace, which is usually a sign of swatting.

This isn’t the first time police have responded to swatting calls at Nicki’s home. In June of 2023, police approached her residence after receiving a false tip about child abuse. A month later, they also responded to another false report of a shooting. Nicki eventually confronted the woman who arranged the 2023 attacks.

“To the woman who made those swatting calls to my home… #WasItWorthItDumbo,” she tweeted out in August of that year. “Stephanie Bell. A warrant is in the system. Great detective work. So grateful. The DA filed one count for the swatting call and one for the false report to DCFS. To God be the glory.”

Ray J Says Brandy ‘Hates’ Him After Viral Kai Cenat Sleepover Drama

Kai Cenat and Ray J‘s recent #sleepovergate has taken a dark turn.

During a recent stream, Ray J hit up the popular streamer and asked if he can be invited to one of the sleepovers Cenat has done in the past with comedians such as Druski and Kevin Hart. However, the way he asked made it seem like he wanted to sleep with Kai, which made him uncomfortable.

“Y’all have sleepovers before right,” Ray asked Kai over the phone. “I didn’t mean it like anything. I meant it how y’all meant it. I want to sleep over, too. I want to sleep with y’all n—as too. That’s how I meant it; pause, I know. That was a lot.”

He then brought up when Kai streams himself in the shower while wearing swimming trunks. “But that’s what I meant,” he continued. “Is like if y’all was in the shower then y’all was in the shower, y’all took a shower together. I’m like, s—t, I’ll take a shower with them n—as like on a stream, of course, with clothes on, bro. You know what I mean?”

Adding, “The next sleepover — if I’m not invited, it’s cool, I’ll just be hurt about it. But I was hurt about the first one. And I’m like, ‘Damn, man, these n—as in the city, they over there sleeping in the bed like I wanna sleep in the bed too! I don’t mean with you, I mean I want my own bunk. Kevin Hart gotta bunk, Druski gotta bunk. N—a, this a big night! This one of the biggest nights. I wanna sleep too, my n—a.”

This led to Ray J’s sister Brandy appearing to send him a YouTube clip of his convo with Kai and said, “Come on Ray? What’s going on with you? You’re so much better than this!!”

He shared a screenshot of a message from someone named “Rocket” in his phone, and attached a lengthy rant about his family and kids on his Instagram Stories Wednesday (April 9). “My sister hates who I am!” he wrote. “And all I’m doing is being myself! I don’t know how to be better than who I am. I tried. But I get depressed trying to change when I don’t have a wife anymore and I have no stability!! I’m sorry to my sister for who I am. And my mom. I don’t give a f about nobody else’s feelings but when it’s my family it makes me feel alone.”

“So I turn up more!!” he continued. “Stay tuned — to my kids who might see this later when they are older – just know I work hard for you and only you!! – if it wasn’t for you Melody and Epik I would’ve been locked up or dead!! — I’m crashing out tonight.”

Young Thug Thinks This Artist Should Be on Billboard’s Best Female Rappers List

Young Thug seems to be taking issue with Billboard‘s Best Female Rapper’s of All Time list, questioning why the list left off his girlfriend Mariah The Scientist.

On Wednesday (April 9), Akademiks reposted a ranking of Billboard‘s list, which was topped by Nicki Minaj. The Billboard staff compiled our picks for the 25 best female rappers of all time using the following criteria: body of work/achievements (charted singles/albums, gold/platinum certifications), cultural impact/influence (how the artist’s work fostered the genre’s evolution), longevity (years at the mic), lyrics (storytelling skills) and flow (vocal prowess).

Thugga slid into Ak’s comments, writing: “Where Mariah at tho [thinking face emoji],” referring to his longtime partner.

Thug and Mariah have been openly dating since at least 2021, as Mariah notably supported Thug during his long RICO Trial in 2022. The Atlanta rapper was finally released from jail last November, and Mariah couldn’t contain her excitement.

“This s—t is so f—ing unbelievable,” Mariah told the Brooklyn crowd during her opening performance on Latto’s Sugar Honey Iced Tea tour. “Let’s just make it to the end so I can get on this jet because you know what I’m finna do.”

Mariah and Thug celebrated their three-year anniversary last October, but she was denied visitation entry at the time because Fulton County’s visitation system was down.

“I done drove all the way to the motherf—ing jail with my ‘Happy Anniversary’ sign and my Scotch tape and get inside for them to say, ‘The system is down.’ I’m devastated,” Mariah said on social media at the time. “I’m looking cute. I put this ponytail in my head. I done did all this s— and I can’t see my man on my anniversary and I am sad, devastated. That is so crazy … I had to let you in on my trials and tribulations. It’s always some s—, huh?”

Tetris Kelly:
K-pop stars and NBA superstars link up, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco sit courtside and the national champions have been crowned! Here’s what’s been going on in the world of sports. We covered j-hope’s concert in L.A. in our All Access. And while he was here, he had time to hang out with new Lakers superstar Luka Dončić. Luka even gave Hobi a special gift: a brand-new pair of Luka 4s. This isn’t the first time Luka has met up with a member of BTS. He also met Suga back in 2023 when he was still with the Mavericks. I think we can definitely consider Luka a part of ARMY. J-hope is not the only celeb that’s been courtside — so have Selena and Benny. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have been promoting their new album, I Said I Love You First, and they had a date night on Tuesday courtside at Madison Square Garden for the Knicks and Celtics game.

That’s not all the good news — their song “The Bluest Flame” has been going viral on TikTok. Selena and Benny are really just living their best life. Selena and Benny are not the only ones who are winning — our national champions have been crowned. All the hype of March Madness leads to this. Congrats to the University of Florida’s men’s basketball team! The Gators win their third national championship, their first since 2007.

On the women’s side, powerhouse UConn returns back to the top. It’s UConn’s 12th championship for the women’s basketball team, and the team celebrated with Ne-Yo and went to a Mary J. Blige concert. Well, it’s good to know that everything turned out just fine, like Mary said, for these Huskies.

Critic’s Picks for Record Store Day 2025: 16 Releases Worth Digging For

Record Store Day usually falls around the 20th of April each year, normally without fail. But in 2025, Easter takes over that weekend, leading organizers of RSD to move it up to Saturday the 12th, which is right around the corner.

This year’s festivities are nonetheless highly anticipated, with more than 300 titles available for purchase in brick-and-mortar shops, including long out-of-print gems revitalized, vaulted live recordings unearthed and classic favorites celebrating anniversaries.

Post Malone was announced as RSD ambassador this time around, and who better than the man who can switch it up from hip-hop to trap pop to country to Nirvana to lead the charge in celebrating this day of sonic diversity?

“I’ve loved listening to music for as long as I can remember, but there is nothing better than listening to albums on vinyl,” Malone said in a statement when the news was announced. “When I was a kid, I found so much great music through my dad. That’s how I got into everything from Dwight Yoakam and Johnny Cash to Ozzy, Pantera and Metallica to Dr. Dre and 50 Cent. The coolest thing was we always had a bunch of records in the house. I got a chance to experience these albums how they’re supposed to be experienced.”

“To this day, I still love to buy records,” he added. “It’s fun to pull up to an indie record store and just get lost down the aisles looking at different albums and seeing all the artwork. You never know what you’re going to find, and every record you pick up is special. Indie record stores mean everything to music fans, because the record store is where the music becomes yours.”

You can find the whole list of titles that’ll be up for grabs at your local indie record shop on the RSD website. However, Billboard has once again keenly researched the 2025 roster and selected some choice titles our readers will no doubt be searching for this coming Saturday.

The Sumner County ADA Eric Mauldin explained to TMZ that Buck was supposed to meet with his bond supervisor twice a month regarding a drug and domestic violence case.

Buck’s jury trial is slated to kick off on July 24. WKRN also reported that officials said once he completes his sentence, the judge will set a new bond.

Young Buck secured his release on bond in 2020 for $60,000 after being arrested for charges of domestic assault, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and vandalism.

50 Cent didn’t hold back when clowning his former G-Unit running mate for yet another legal run-in. This time, 50 mocked Buck’s mugshot.

“Damn how dat [ninja emoji] head get like that, police must’ve hit him in the head. LOL,” he wrote to Instagram while reposting the mugshot and then a clip of a character from the animated film Mastermind. “I gotta get back to work, LOL.”

The 16 Best Playboi Carti Features, Ranked

This is King Vamp at his best.

It’s impossible for Playboi Carti to hop on a song and not make it his own. With one of the most distinctive voices in rap, Carti effortlessly amplifies everything when he appears on a track, putting each song in a chokehold without breaking a sweat. This is obviously the case with some of his stand out verses on already high voltage tracks like Travis Scott‘s “Fe!n” or Ye‘s “Carnival,” but even his ad-libs pack a serious punch on subtler tracks like Lana Del Rey‘s “Summer Bummer.”

Carti’s hard-hitting guest appearances can be traced all the way back to 2015, when he was collaborating with artists within Atlanta’s bubbling underground scene like UntoTheActivist, Yung Bans, Lil Yachty and more. Since then, Carti has gone on to link with not only rappers, but certified pop stars like Camila Cabello and The Weeknd. The end result is always a hit, no matter which version of Carti artists get on their songs. It’s partially because Carti’s cult followers flock to whatever he does in massive numbers, but it’s also partially because he sounds so good even when he’s barely doing anything.

As Carti’s latest album MUSIC continues to do serious numbers, it’s impossible to escape the King Vamp pandemonium. Billboard has put together a list of his best feature appearances of all time. While this list could also include a dozen or so unreleased tracks, we’ve included only officially released songs for the sake of brevity. Check out our full ranked list below.
