Lil Nas X Reveals Partial Paralysis of Right Side of His Face: ‘I Can’t Even Laugh Right’

Partial facial paralysis is no joke. But in a video posted on Monday (April 14), Lil Nas X just had to laugh at the medical condition in a clip he posted from a hospital bed. “And when I smile? This is me doing a full smile right now by the way,” he said in the clip in which the left side of his mouth was open and the right side was immobile. “It’s like, what the f–k? I can’t even laugh right, bro. What the f–k?”

The video, captioned, “Soooo lost control of the right side of my face ?,” captured the 26-year-old rapper laying in a hospital be in a hospital gown and white Von Dutch baseball hat. He seemingly had a chipper attitude about the health condition in an Instagram Story featuring a close-up video of his face in which he panned from one side to the other, saying, “We normal over here, we get crazy over here!” with the caption, “I’m so cooked [two crying laughing emoji].”

Though no additional information was available at press time about what is ailing the “Hotbox” MC, another slide assured fans, “Guys I am OK!! Stop being sad for me! Shake ur ass for me instead!” to the strains of Huey’s 2006 hit “Pop, Lock & Drop It.” The final slide contained yet another assurance that things are fine, with a photo of the rapper and the promise, “Imma look funny for a lil bit but that’s it.”

At press time a spokesperson for Lil Nas could not be reached for additional comment on his condition.

Last month, Lil Nas released the 8-track Days Before Dreamboy EP, which scooped up his recent run of surprise singles, including “Right There!,” “Big Dummy,” “Swish,” “Hotbox,” “Dreamboy,” “Need Dat Boy” and others. Fans are still awaiting word on the release date for the Dreamboy LP, his anticipated follow-up to his 2021 debut full-length album, Montero.

From on stage with the hottest sets and surprises to backstage with the artists themselves and the hottest parties in the desert, we are taking you to Coachella in Billboard All Access Coachella. Day 1 was all about LISA and Lady Gaga, but before we hit the Polo Fields, Billboard hung out with White Claw and Maren Morris on Thursday night. Then on Friday, we got the day started with some shopping and getting refreshed at 818. Damien kept all the vibes going at Yuma before we got to see Anyma join Yeat at Sahara. Lisa slayed Sahara with her hits and some new ‘Alter Ego’ tracks, and even XG was excited for Lady Gaga. It was a spectacle, as expected, for Gaga.

Some of the desert’s hottest moments came at night, and Nylon had festivalgoers and stars dancing the night away. We also dropped by Zenyara for Desert Nights.

Day 2 kicked off by getting charmed with Pandora at a relaxing oasis. Over at the Ace Hotel, Billboard and Amazon teamed up with comedian and musical improviser Reggie Watts, who pulled up and offered attendees some sick beats on top of a colossal-sized couch.

And, of course, the famous Revolve Fest with Cardi B herself! Then we got to go say hi to ENHYPEN before their big set. The K-pop kings lit up the stage with hot choreo, and the fans loved it all. After the set, they were so happy.

Keep watching for more!

BigXthaPlug is quickly becoming country’s “favorite rapper,” and the rising star teamed up with Bailey Zimmerman for the ultimate cross-genre hit.

“I feel like for the past decade it’s been a lot of mumble rap. People not talking about nothing,” BigXthaPlug told Billboard of his musical inspirations. “I’m talking about something. A lot of the older people who love music, that’s what they grew up on — actual substance. Here’s this young dude that sound old, but he on these young-old beats. I literally mixed everything up so everybody could love it.”

Ayy, if it’s over, it’s over, so fuck it
Just don’t act like my love wasn’t nothin’
Like I wasn’t the one you was holdin’ at night
Tellin’ all of your secrets and huggin’
Guess you right, it’s too good to be true
Was a point all I needed was you
But shit, time after time, all this fussin’ and fightin’
It’s time that you do what you do
And it’s cool
Mama said it was fish in the sea, I got lost in the pool
Knew it was comin’, I watched how you move
How you turn your back on me and leave me to lose?
Remember the text, all you said that you’d do
Said that you’d never leave, we would fight ’til it’s due
But as it went on, I was fightin’ for you
Seen the texts’ turn green, why the fuck it ain’t blue?
Guess you done and I get it
Said you stayin’, you wanted my name and you left
So I’m guessin’ that you never meant it
Said you’d try and hold on ’cause the love was so strong
Now I’m standin’ alone this kitchen
Singin’ sad songs, but I’m knowin’ that this shit don’t last long
If you leavin’, then leave ’cause your bags gone
But just know, you can never come back home

Said you fell out of love and I hate that
But see me, I was stuck like a drug
Really fiendin’ for love and somehow, I can’t shake back
When you walked out that door, I was hurtin’
All the dreams in my head, you was perfect
You remember the very first time that we chilled
And I reached for your hand, where them nerves at?
Time repairs and shit, that’s what it do
It be times I be sick, sittin’, thinkin’ ’bout you
It was death do us part ’til you gave me the blues
Really played my heart, left me lost and confused
Thought this shit was fair game, but you made up the rules
On my heart, left a scar and a bruise
Hope that you can stand on all the shit that you did
‘Cause I’m done, yeah, I’m finally through

Tay-K Found Guilty of Murder in Killing of Photographer

Rapper Tay-K has been found guilty of murdering a photographer in 2017, but was acquitted of capital murder.

On Monday (April 14), a jury found the rapper, real name Taymor Mclntyre, guilty of robbing and killing photographer Mark Anthony Saldivar, according to News 4 San Antonio. Prosecutors had argued Mclntyre fatally shot Saldivar after stealing his photography equipment, while defense attorneys contested both the physical evidence and eyewitness testimony, saying they didn’t directly tie Mclntyre to the crime.

Tay-K, who was a minor at the time of the shooting, now faces five to 99 years in prison. Had he been convicted of capital murder, he would have received an automatic life sentence.

The rapper, who rose to fame with the 2017 hit “The Race,” was convicted on a different murder charge in 2019 related to a 2016 home invasion. That case resulted in a 30-year sentence for aggravated robbery, along with an additional 13-year sentence for two other counts of aggravated robbery.

Trending on Billboard

In social media posts from behind bars, the 24-year-old pleaded with the judge in this latest case to give him a second chance.

“I really just need 1 chance @ adulthood,” he wrote in 2023. “I bet if I was a lil white kid they wouldn’t have gave me no 55 years for a crime I was alleged to play the most insignificant role in when I was 16….they woulda rightfully argued that my mind wasn’t fully developed and gave me rehabilitation and a 2nd (1st) chance at adulthood.”

Young Thug ‘UY SCUTI’ Coachella Billboard Hints at May Release Date

Young Thug could be making his official return to music with a new album next month.

Back in March, he attended a Miami Heat game with his girlfriend Mariah the Scientist, where the two held up white Heat jerseys with their names on the back, except Thug’s No. 5 jersey had the words “UY Scuti” on the back. He then tweeted out that he’s “King Spider the biggest star in the world,” which helped fans realize that UY Scuti wasn’t something he made up, but instead is the name of the biggest star in the known universe.

Future also tweeted the phrase a day later, leading fans to believe something from Thug was on the horizon — and that seems to be the case.

Young Thug fan account Thugger Daily is reporting that a new billboard has been spotted near Coachella that says in all-caps: “Universe has been too quiet. Until now. UY SCUTI.” In the lower-right corner of the billboard is a May 2025 release date, with the specific day blacked out.

Trending on Billboard

It’s worth pointing out that May 9 lands on a Friday this year, and that’s the same date the Atlanta rapper and 27 others were taken into custody by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on RICO charges three years ago in 2022.

Aside from a handful of features, Thug hasn’t released any solo music since his release from prison in November. However, the idea of a joint album with him, Future, and Lil Baby has been floated by Baby himself, who said it was Thug’s idea and it’s almost done.

Ja Rule Claps Back at 50 Cent After Irv Gotti Disrespect: ‘Go Ahead and Lie’

Ja Rule has fired back at his longtime nemesis 50 Cent after the latter made disrespectful comments about the late Irv Gotti.

On Sunday, Ja hopped on X to fire a few shots at 50 Cent, who clowned Ja’s appearance on The Breakfast Club last week. During that interview, Ja had told The Breakfast Club that Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff talked him out of fighting with the G-Unit leader after Fif uploaded a picture of himself smoking hookah next to Irv Gotti’s faux gravestone. Ja Rule, who has had beef with 50 Cent dating back years, said the antics made him want to go “nuclear,” which 50 Cent clowned almost immediately.

“The Breakfast Club should be ashamed of themselves asking questions that perpetuate violence,” 50 wrote on IG. “This fool has been ready to go what he calls nuclear for 22 years. LOL.”

50 Cent then continued to clown the late Murder Inc. CEO by adding: “Ya man in my Runtz right now!”

Trending on Billboard

In his tweets, Ja told 50 to “suck my di–” and demanded he shut his mouth until he do something about the people that shot him back in 2000.

“Until you do something to the n—as that shot you you can’t troll no more…,” Ja wrote in the tweets below. “[Laughing face emoji] handle your business chump lmao…”

He went on to say: “@50cent N—a you’re a used car salesman everything you do is trash music 1 good album after that trash liquor trash tv shows yeah I said it TRASH how many times you gonna make the same show that coke stepped on parenting trash character trash n—a you the garbage man.”

Ja closed things out by insinuating 50 Cent cooperated with the feds. “From now on your name boo boo that’s what they called you on the streets right lmfao,” Ja Rule wrote. “Boo boo the fool… [laughing face emoji] 50 cent is a street n—a from Brooklyn you boo boo from Queens… Mc gusto cb4 a– n—a. You’re right he told the Feds murder inc had him shot and they put us under federal indictment… [rat emoji]…@50cent Go ahead and lie tell these good people tell the paperwork fake so I can send this next shot… WE GOT RECEIPTS boo boo…”

50 Cent has yet to respond to Ja Rule’s incendiary allegations, though he’s previously denied snitching on anyone in Murder Inc.

“They’ll say, ‘He a rat’ or, ‘He this, this and that.’ All you gotta do is ask them who I told on?” 50 Cent said on the Cigar Talk podcast in 2020. “I ain’t never told on no n—a in my life.”

Drake Says He’s Working on a ‘Slap’ of a New Album During Adin Ross Livestream

Drake announced during a livestream with Adin Ross that he’s working on a new album, and the OVO leader is extremely excited about it.

On Sunday (April 13), Drizzy hopped on a Kick livestream with Adin Ross as part of a partnership giveaway with digital gambling platform Stake. During the lengthy hang, Drake took a moment to thank his supporters for streaming his $exy $ongs 4 U project with PARTYNEXTDOOR, which dropped back in February.

“Thank you to everybody that’s streaming the album,” Drake said while donning some $$4U merch. “Every time, every journey. Working on a new album, it’s a slap.”

Adin Ross expressed shock at the quick turnaround for The Boy, whose last solo album For All The Dogs dropped back in 2023. Elsewhere in the livestream, Drake also said Nothing Was The Same and Honestly, Nevermind were the two bodies of work he was most proud of.

Trending on Billboard

As for $$4U, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 back in February, and the ear worm “Nokia” has been steadily climbing the Hot 100 ever since. It currently sits at No. 3, posing a threat to Kendrick Lamar’s “Luther” dominance, which has held the top spot for seven consecutive weeks.

The Canadian crooner will also be headlining London’s Wireless Festival in July, which he also shouted out during the livestream.

“Shout out to everybody that’s been showing us love, though, for real. On every song. Shout out to everybody that’s coming to Wireless [Festival]. We love you so much,” Drake said.
