Rihanna‘s red-hot ensemble at the 2023 Super Bowl set the fashion world aflame, but it turns out part of her outfit had a particularly special meaning.

Partway through her 13-minute set, the “We Found Love” hitmaker donned a bright red sleeping bag coat by Alaïa for the finale of 2007’s “Umbrella” followed by 2012’s “Diamonds.” And if the glamorous floor-length outerwear looked familiar, it’s because it was a tender homage to André Leon Talley — the late Vogue editor-at-large who passed away in Jan. 2022 and was known to wear his favorite Norma Kamali coat in the same style and hue.

The people running Talley’s still-active Instagram account took note of the tribute and posted a side-by-side of the two looks with the caption, “When the sun shines, we’ll shine together. Told you I’ll be here forever… said I’ll always be your friend” and tagged RiRi with a red balloon emoji.

Rihanna and Talley have a shared history when it comes to fashion as well. For much of the 2010s, the latter was a beloved fixture on the carpet for the Met Gala, where he would interview A-listers for Vogue.com about their personal interpretation of the annual theme set by Anna Wintour. In 2015, he bonded with Rihanna over the jaw-dropping gown she wore in honor of the “China: Through the Looking Glass” exhibition.

“Queen of the night! Break it up, it’s not enough. Beautiful! This moment, this fantasy, I’m dreaming. How did this happen? It’s so beautiful!” Talley raved at the time, later adding, “You are so inspiring to so many people. You’re going to inspire people in this dress…I love you! Can’t wait to see you on stage!”

There’s no rest for the Beyhive! On Wednesday (Feb. 8), Beyoncé gave her fans a look at her newest Ivy Park collection, Park Trail, and revealed that the collection — which is scheduled to arrive Feb. 9 — is one of her favorites that her athleisure line has dropped yet.

On Instagram, Bey posted a carousel of photos in a royal purple, three-piece set consisting of a bra top, wide-leg cargo pants and a floor grazing, semi-sheer jacket to match. To tie into the Park Trail theme, the bra and cargo pants are accented with orange straps and waist ties that resemble hiking chords.

“My favorite drop to date,” the “Break My Soul” singer captioned the photos. “Check out the full PARK TRAIL collection, available 2/9/23.”

Ivy Park first unveiled plans for Park Trail on Jan. 20 through a trailer that featured models in pieces from the collection. The items included camouflage motifs, puffer jackets, a fashionable take on hiking shoes and more. Devon Aoki, Ice Spice, Offset and his son Kody Cephus were among the drop’s models.

Though fans are loving the idea of the Park Trail collection, several Instagram users commented on Bey’s post that they are also trying to use their money to score tickets to her highly anticipated Renaissance World Tour. “Beyoncé we are on Ticketmaster fighting for our lives!!!!” one user wrote, while another joked, “Right after announcing the tour? In this economy??? JAIL. HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!”

Good news sneakerheads, it seems like this new generation of hypebeasts may actually leave us some good chances to copp our favorite Jordans and Dunks as they ditch the OG look for a more, well, futuristic fit.

Highsnobiety is reporting that Brooklyn-based brand MSCHF has just brought to life Astro Boy’s signature Big Red Boots and believe it or not, heads are actually walking around in these. Just yesterday the Oklahoma City Thunder’s star point guard, Shai Gilgeous Alexander rolled up to last night’s highly anticipated game against the LA Lakers in a pair of the MSCHF boots seemingly ready to find out who framed Roger Rabbit or something.

Needless to say this isn’t our particular flavor, but if it means this next generation of heads will focus their bots and backdooring on cartoonish boots while we cop our favorite retro sneakers at an easier clip, then hey, we’re all for it. In an era where heads like to standout and be “different” for the sake of social media, you can bet you’ll see a few of these floating around your neighborhood depending on availability.
“The Big Red boot is a realization of a specific sort of cartoonish abstraction of a shoe,” MSCHF co-founder Daniel Greenberg tells Highsnobiety.
“In cartoon world, representation works with reduced information to immediately imply an object, rather literally depict it. The Big Red Boot works on a similar principle, where it is an absurd, simplified form that conveys the idea of “BOOT” without worrying too much about the particulars of realism.”

Remember the flack that Fat Joe got for looking like Thanos when he wore those Kanye boots? Those seem rather pedestrian by comparison these days. Just saying. Though the boots look rather flimsy, apparently they’re actually pretty sturdy.

“From a technical perspective, the BRB pushes the envelope of its single-mold-shell design, simply because it is really large,” Greenberg says. “It’s shot in a much higher quality material and process than, say, a rain boot, or other thin-walled low-cost boots.”
Naturally MSCHF doesn’t want anymore legal smoke so they aren’t dubbing these the “Astro Boy” boots, but the kicks will go live on February 16th on their website and will retail for $350. You have to wonder what this new creation could lead to in the future. Before you know it it’s gonna start looking like a Mega Man game out on these streets or something.
Will you be looking to cop a pair of MSCHF’s big red boots next week? Let us know in the comments section below.

After Paris Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2023 menswear shows brought members from BTS, SEVENTEEN, NCT and more representing South Korea, the following week of haute couture shows did not disappoint with its K-pop star power.

Things began strong on Jan. 23 as BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo made her return to Paris Fashion Week to attend the Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring Summer 2023 show. An ambassador for the fashion house since 2019, Jisoo channeled Hollywood icon Aubrey Hepburn with an elegant updo and bangs to accompany her sophisticated white dress. The starlet sat next to Christian Dior CEO Delphine Arnault at the show that included guests like Anna Wintour, Anya Taylor-Joy and Korean actor Lee Suhyeok.

That same Monday saw BTS’ Suga make his Fashion Week debut at the Valentino Couture Spring 2023 show, marking his first appearance supporting the Italian luxury fashion house since being named a brand ambassador this year. The star-studded show saw Suga stylishly draped in a flowy tan and peach suit, seated front row alongside the likes of Kylie Minogue, Sam Smith, Doja Cat and BTS’ “Dream Glow” collaborator Charli XCX.

PFW regular G-Dragon got a fun surprise at the Chanel Haute Couture Spring Summer 2023 show, where he reunited with Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton, whom he first met in 2015 for couture week in Paris. All eyes were on the BIGBANG leader with his chic layered suit at the Chanel show that also had Anna Wintour, Baz Luhrmann and Roger Federer in the front row.

Elsewhere, KARD‘s BM and K-R&B star GEMINI continued their tour of fashion week with stops at the Jean Paul Gaultier and Zadig & Voltaire shows, respectively, after being spotted at menswear shows.

In recent weeks, Doja Cat has painted herself red and glued Swarovski crystals onto every visible inch of her skin, and worn a goatee made of fake eyelashes. At this point, the wackiest thing she could do next would be to dress in something more “normal.” But wait: That’s exactly what she just did.

As usual, Doja was one step ahead in a recent Instagram post in which she showed off simple brunette waves, a smoky eye and neutral lip makeup look, and an elegant, lacy black top. “Felt like doing a pretty beat for you boring a– lemon water b—–s out there,” she captioned the post. “So you can shut the f–k up now and leave me the f–k alone ciao.”

The expectation-flipping statement caught the attention of none other than Selena Gomez, who commented, “Lol I love and feel you.”

The “Woman” rapper’s latest look is definitely a palate cleanser compared to the show-stealing looks she rocked at Paris Fashion Week in January. The most notable of these was when she showed up to Schiaparelli’s runway show covered in 30,000 red Swarovski crystals — like, completely, as in, only the whites of her eyes weren’t glittering like Dorothy’s ruby slippers. After that, she attended Viktor & Rolf’s show in a whimsical pantsuit and faux facial hair made of fake eyelashes (eyebrows and all), trolling haters who criticized her previous red makeup look’s lack of lashes.

A few months prior, she attended a string of October Paris Fashion Week shows in equally unorthodox outfits, including a face full of blue paint and a full-body gold moment.

From her days as a Disney star and her chart-topping Bangerz run to present day, Miley Cyrus‘ sense of style has remained fiercely idiosyncratic. In 2006, the music industry progeny burst onto the scene as the star of Hannah Montana and became known as a Disney Channel supernova in Hannah’s trademark blonde wig.
After trying in fits and starts to establish her own identity outside of Hannah Montana, Cyrus used the release of 2012’s Bangerz to officially make a clean (or rather naughty) break from her roots with the House of Mouse. When the music video for lead single “We Can’t Stop” premiered, the pop star showed off a completely new side to herself, complete with a blonde pixie cut, red lip, ever-present stuck-out tongue and a parade of in-your-face, skin-baring ensembles.
Cyrus’ wild-child era continued to evolve into hippie territory through the release of 2015’s Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, and by the time the singer unveiled Younger Now in 2017, she had adopted a much softer aesthetic inspired by the ’70s-era chic of Laurel Canyon. For the Plastic Hearts era, the 30-year-old channeled the glam rock of precursors (and collaborators) like Joan Jett and Billy Idol by growing out a punk-inspired shag and draping herself in leather and latex.
Cyrus broke new records with the release of her No. 1 hit “Flowers” at the start of 2023, and the self-empowerment anthem also turned a new leaf in her stylistic journey. As she crooned, “We were good, we were gold/ Kinda dream that can’t be sold,” the star emerged in a vintage gold lamé sheath dress by YSL in her most natural form yet, equally at home in La Perla lingerie as she is in a bold, oversized black pantsuit.
Here’s a photographic look back at Cyrus’ fashion over the last decade-plus of her career.

Before his death, Boss — who was known for his role as a DJ and dancer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and was seen on So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars — modeled for the collaborative collection, which releases Jan. 31, and features hoodies, varsity jackets, basketball shorts, sweatpants, chinos, hats, tote bags, socks and more, for children and adults.

“The Brooklyn Circus and Gap share in the heartbreaking loss of beloved icon Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who was a longtime supporter of the [Brooklyn Circus] community, [founder and creative director] Ouigi [Theodore’s] work and a core part of this campaign thanks to his personal friendship with Ouigi Theodore,” a press release for the campaign reads.

Gap has also announced that it will support the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and donate to Vibrant Emotional Health, an organization that provides free and confidential counseling to those in need 24/7, in Boss’ honor.

Allison Holker, Boss’ wife, also shared a statement surrounding the release of official campaign images: “When Stephen and I first saw his images from the campaign, it brought tears to our eyes. He was so moved by how they captured his true essence, and he was excited for the world to see them.”

Pose actor Indya Moore, Euphoria star Javon Walton and model, agency founder and activist Bethann Hardison are also featured in the campaign.

The collaboration, timed for Black History Month, “explores the concepts of individuality, movement and modern prep — blending academia, music and Black culture and street style from the 1960s through today,” the press release reads. It will be available via both brands’ online stores on Jan. 31 and in-store at select Gap retail locations and The Brooklyn Circus’ Boreum Hill flagship.

Doja Cat — aside from being one of the biggest Billboard Hot 100 hitmakers of the 2020s — has ascended the ranks in her career to not only become a formidable pop star, but has also evolved into a fashion icon in her own right. Following the success of her breakthrough single, “Say So,” Doja has used fashion to different sides of her personality, from playful (see her 2019 BET Awards and 2021 VMAs looks) and elegant, to edgy and avant-garde.
The Grammy winning rapper has most recently turned heads with her recent appearances at Paris Fashion week. While attending Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring Summer 2023 show on Monday (Jan. 27), the star got the internet talking after in a head to toe red ensemble. The twist? Makeup artist Pat McGrath covered Doja in 30,000 red Swarovski crystals — all applied by hand, she noted — to complete the show stopping look.
But high fashion moments didn’t stop there: Once Doja realized she was getting criticisms online for not wearing eyelashes to complete her ensemble, she turned up the next day in a menswear inspired outfit consisting of pinstriped separates and a shirt with a ruffled breast. The real star, however, was the “Woman” singer’s fake goatee and eyebrows made of — you guesses it — strips of eyelashes.
As Doja cat continues to turn out looks, take a look back in history to see all how her styles has evolved over time, from her humble beginnings and cat ears to the present.

Apple Martin has officially made her debut at Fashion Week.

On Tuesday night (Jan. 24), the teenager — the daughter and eldest child of actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin — attended Chanel’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2023 show at Paris Fashion Week.

The 18-year-old looked elegant in a two-piece set designed by the esteemed French fashion house, wearing a black-and-white plaid printed mini dress made of Chanel’s signature tweed fabric and matching jacket. Apple topped off the look with chunky-heeled shoes, a crossbody Chanel bag and shiny blond hair reminiscent of her mother’s.

Gwyneth Paltrow was in disbelief when her daughter turned 18 last year, lamenting back in May about Apple’s milestone birthday.

“18. I’m a bit of a loss for words this morning,” she wrote. “I could not be more proud of the woman you are. You are everything I could have dreamed of and so much more. Proud doesn’t cover it, my heart swells with feelings I can’t put in to words. You are deeply extraordinary in every way. Happy birthday my darling girl. I hope you know how special you are, and how much light you have brought to all who are lucky enough to know you. Especially me. I say it all the time and I will never stop… in the words of auntie Drew, I was born the day you were born.”
