Big Freedia is set to retake the stage as she announces her first album in nine years, accompanied by a brand new single from the project.
The “Queen of Bounce” announced the new album Central City, last Friday (May 26), also releasing the latest single from the album, “Bigfoot”. “Bounce has been through many iterations—from Triggerman to Sissy to Cash Money Bounce—but my new album is something I call Bigga Bounce,” she said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Welcome to Central City, y’all, where I pay homage to my city, my roots, hip-hop, and to the art of creating a new sound.” The album will be released on June 23rd.
“Bigfoot” comes in as the third single from what is now the New Orleans native’s first full-length album since Just Be Free which was released in 2014. She describes it as “a powerful anthem of empowerment and motivation,” with the opening lines booming forth. “Call me Bigfoot stepping on these b—–s necks,” Freedia declares in the first lines of the track in her signature cadence, “I got a big foot but I’m getting bigger checks/They don’t see what’s coming next.” The first two singles were “Central City Freestyle” and “$100 Bill”, featuring Ciara. Central City will have sixteen tracks in total, with Lil Wayne, Kelly Price, and Faith Evans in addition to other artists making guest appearances.
Big Freedia will also be hitting the road this summer on tour beginning in Stanford, California on June 2nd as part of the Re: Set Festival with LCD Soundsystem, Jamie XX, and other artists. The nationwide tour will have Big Freedia be a headline performer at Pride concert events in Denver, Colorado, and Charlotte, North Carolina, and conclude at the Wonderbus Music and Arts Festival on August 25th in Columbus, Ohio. Happily married woman Ciara has social media chirping thanks to her jaw-dropping Vanity Fair Oscars Party dress.
Ciara made everyone forget about the Academy Awards and any drama when she showed up to the Vanity Fair Oscars party with her husband, Russell Wilson, rocking a see-through dress that left nothing to the imagination.
Ciara’s goodies were on full display in the sparkling sheer number from Dundas’ Fall/Winter 2023 RTW collection paired with flesh-colored nipple covers, long black gloves, a thong, and strappy Santoni heels.
Wilson, the current Denver Broncos quarterback, complimented his wife’s fly, rocking an all-black suit with a teal brooch.
The Purity Police Was Out In Full Force
To be expected, the purity police and holier than thou sect of Twitter came out blasting the singer for her dress for daring to show off the body she works hard to maintain.
They got Elon Musk’s sh*tty Twitter talking about that; as a married woman, and a woman of faith, Ciara should not be wearing such revealing clothing.
They said all that after seeing her husband proudly posing for photos with her.
Many People Came To Ciara’s Defense
Thankfully many people came to the defense of the singer calling out those who had nothing but righteous hate in their blood.
One Twitter user pointed out that Ciara’s dress followed the party’s theme of “old Hollywood barely there glam” while sharing a collage of the other women wearing sheer outfits.
“All of this talk about Ciara’s dress and y’all didn’t mention that it wasn’t for the Oscars, but an Oscar party themed-event “Barely there” this brings perspective,” the Twitter user wrote.
Another user brilliantly flipped the argument using a photo of Russell Wilson in swimming trunks writing in the tweet, “I’m telling you ladies, you can’t turn no h*e into a husband! Look at Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson, out here half-naked like he doesn’t have three kids at home looking up to him as an example. He’s a married man, and he’s disrespecting her in public with a risqué outfit.”
Points were made.
Ciara looked stunning. The haters can kick rocks and say all the hail mary’s in the corner. You can see more reactions in the gallery below.

2. Great question
Ciara is never a stranger to high fashion. Following the 95th annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, the “1, 2 Step” singer was one of many musicians who dazzled at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty and took to the red carpet to pose for photos at the event. Ciara, however, went for one of the more daring looks of the evening, showing up in a barely there mesh dress.
The 37-year-old posed for pictures at the even in a sheer and shimmering netted halter gown by Dundas that left little to the imagination, using black underwear and flesh-colored pasties to cover up. Ciara accessorized the look with diamond drop earrings courtesy of Cartier, black velvet elbow-length gloves and black strappy Santoni heels.
After the fashion-filled evening came to a close, Ciara shared a series of snaps in a video posted to her Instagram on Monday (March 13). Megan Thee Stallion, who also attended the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, makes a brief cameo in the set of photos, as well as the singer’s husband, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, who matched alongside her in a black velvet suit jacket. M.I.A.’s 2012 hit “Bad Girls” soundtracks the video.
Cardi B also attended the Vanity Fair party alongside husband Offset, Billie Eilish took boyfriend Jesse Rutherford of The Neighbourhood as her date and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner wore matching black ensembles to the party.

Ciara tried to talk sense into white nationalists’ favorite Black bobblehead, Jason Whitlock, who can’t seem to stop himself from going out of his way to make stupid remarks regarding the police-involved death of Tyre Nichols.
Recently, Jason Whitlock sat down with the Calvin Candie to his Stephen, Tucker Carlson, and erroneously blamed Nichols’ violent death on Black single mothers.
Related Stories
“Everybody involved in this, on the street level, was either 24 to 32 years old. Everybody, it was a group of young Black men, five-on-one. It looked like gang violence to me. It looked like what young Black men do when they’re supervised by a single Black woman, and that’s what they got going on in the Memphis Police Department.”
“They’ve elected—or put some Black woman in charge of the police force, and we’re getting the same kind of chaos and disunity and violence that we see in a lot of these cities that are run by single mothers,” Whitlock continued, in reference to Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn “CJ” Davis. “If we want to discuss the breakdown of family that leads to disrespect for authority, that causes you to resist the police and run from the police and not comply with the police, because you resist authority at all times, because there was no male authority in your home, let’s have that discussion.”
Yeeeeah—this is beyond a reach.
Whitlock is clearly using Nichols’ death to arbitrarily take shots at single Black mothers, which makes no sense since Nichols had a stepfather in his life. Rush Limbaugh’s Black doppelganger also appears to be insinuating that if a Black woman is a single mother she couldn’t possibly be qualified to run a police department (or anything, for that matter).
Anyway, Ciara called him all the way out on his misogynoir and general anti-Blackness, but Whitlock is a dedicated house negro and he would not be dissuaded from his special brand of self-loathing.
“As a black man to get on national tv and say something like this is irresponsible,” Ciara tweeted. “A lot of amazing kids have come from single mothers. For you to also undermine single black women in the midst of this tragedy is so sad. This woman just lost her son! Do better!”
“Appreciate the feedback, Ciara. But at some point, we are going to have to deal with the negative impact of baby-mama culture,” Whitlock replied. “It’s destructive and unsustainable. Come up out of the denial. Denial won’t fix the problem. Thanks.”
Again, what does “baby-mama culture” have to do with Nichols? What do Black single mothers have to do with this story at all? It’s like Whitlock is throwing them under a bus that wasn’t even driving down their street.
WTF is wrong with this man?
