LISA’s set to make her first solo festival appearance, while Jennie apologizes for vaping. Here’s what the women of BLACKPINK are up to.

LISA just earned her first Global 200 excluding the U.S. No. 1 with “ROCKSTAR,” and now she’s heading to New York. Lalisa will join the likes of Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Post Malone and Rauw Alejandro when she takes the stage as a headliner at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on Sept. 28.

And while we love her new solo hit, it was nice to see LISA reunite with Rosé on TikTok. More BLACKPINK reunions please!

Meanwhile, Jennie issued an apology after some fans were outraged by a video of her vaping. In the YouTube vlog, Jennie was seen vaping while in hair and makeup, which has now been removed from the video. Her agency released a statement saying in part, “Jennie acknowledges and deeply regrets her mistake of vaping indoors and causing inconvenience to the staff. Jennie has personally apologized to all the staff on-site who may have been affected.”

That was like absolutely surreal, like Green Velvets been my childhood hero for you know, ever Since I started listening to house music, when he came out with “Percolator” like the year I was born. 1994, which is crazy. And then yeah, closing out EDC which is like, if you like every DJ stream, I think it was like 150,000 people in the crowd so… Which is weird like I thought I’d be nervous walking up. It’s like so many that like he kind of like your mind can’t even process and we just played it like a straight up Chicago house set and people liked it. So we’re happy.

Katie Baine:

Did I catch you crying for a minute there? At the end. 

John Summit:

It got a little emotional. 

Katie Baine:

Okay well tell me what was going on through your mind or like your your emotions at that moment? Because that’s a big deal.

John Summit:

I mean, I closed out the festival with “Go Back,” which is my new single with Sub Focus and Julia Church, you know. The writing behind it is you know, when I hear that sound…

She took to X and shared some snaps in a bikini saying in part. “to those who think you’re shaming me, you’re actually making me feel very powerful.” Kesha also celebrated “Praying” seven year anniversary, tweeting, “as i race like a madman into this iconic chapter of my life, i can’t help but appreciate how hard this joy has been fought for.” And when she’s not celebrating her new release with Beverly Hills housewives, she’s celebrating other women in music. Kesha posted a video on TikTok using Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” with the caption, “proud to be a woman in music.” Girls keep the hits coming this summer.

Will Shaboozey finally get his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1?

There’s a new top 10 and No. 1 in this week’s Billboard Hot 100 top 10 for the week dated July 13. Chappell Roan blasts into the top 10 at No. 10. Teddy Swims is still at last week’s No. 9. As is Benson Boone at No. 8 and “Too Sweet” at No. 7.

“Please Please Please” falls a spot to six. “Million Dollar Baby” is up to five. “Espresso” is still at four, as Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” holds at three. Post and Morgan fall from last week’s No. 1 spot.

And grabbing his first ever Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 is Shaboozey with “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

Darius Rucker thinks it’s time to forgive Morgan. Shaboozey aims for the top spot on the Hot 100 and Quavo & Lana get “Tough” and sexy. Here’s three things to know in country today.

Darius Rucker told Rolling Stone’s Music Now podcast that he thinks Morgan Wallen should be forgiven for being caught using the N word multiple times back in 2021.

Do I think Morgan’s become a better person since that? I know Morgan Wallen since all that happened? You know, Morgan tried to really better himself and become a better person and see the world in a much better, better way.

Darius pointed out how Morgan didn’t get nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the CMA’s or the ACM’s, but he has broken chart records on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 and currently holds the top spot on the Hot 100, so listeners seem to have forgiven him. Speaking of the Hot 100 Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” sits at No. 2. But could he surpass Morgan and Post Malone next week? Thanks to a huge performance where he brought out J-KWON at the BET Awards and an increase in radio play, he’s got better odds. We’ll find out for sure on Monday. Also entering the country space is Quavo. His new song with Lana Del Rey, “Tough,” not only brings the backroad vibes, they get pretty sensual in the video, too. Which country track are you bumping? My favorite boys are taking us on a trip and it’s all going down on Disney+, and Jin is going to the Olympics. This is your BTS news. So after BTS tweeted this cryptic video that had all ARMY shook, we eventually found out all our dreams came true and we had Jimin & Jung Kook coming to our TV screen. The BTS stars are set to release a new travel reality show together on August 8, titled ‘Are You Sure?,’ exclusively on Disney+. The eight-part series, which was filmed in 2023 before the duo enlisted in the South Korean military, follows Jimin & Jung Kook as they traveled to three iconic global destinations: New York, USA; Jeju Island, South Korea; and Sapporo, Japan. And we’re also headed to France, as it was just announced that Mr. Worldwide Handsome Jin will participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay as a torchbearer for South Korea. While specifics have yet to be revealed, Jin’s relay aims to spread the message of harmony and peace this year. The Olympics will begin on July 26.

Ye is facing yet another lawsuit. Let’s break it down. A new lawsuit, filed in the District Court of the Central District of California, is alleging Ye and his former head of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, subjected employees to intolerable harassment and discrimination. The eight plaintiffs came from across the United States, the UK, Hungary, and Nigeria to work at Yeezy. Some plaintiffs claimed they were as young as 14 while working. The claims made by the plaintiffs include being segregated into different working environments by race, where Black and African employees were given less favorable work assignments, minors were allegedly exposed to pornographic images related to Ye’s scrap YZY PORN venture, and all eight of the former employees claimed they were not paid for their work. While Billboard has reached out to Ye’s rep for comment, Yiannopoulos addressed the lawsuit on X, writing in part, “All I’ve done since has tried to get these app developers paid, as voluminous correspondence demonstrates. Anyone asserting otherwise is uncritically repeating mendacious lies from a lawsuit that takes more imaginative leaps than The Lord of the Rings.”
