Bad Bunny could fix a bad situation in Mexico by playing a free concert.
That’s the suggestion of the country’s president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, a do-over after hundreds were shut out of his concert in Mexico City in a ticketing snafu which is now being investigated.

When Bad Bunny’s World’s Hottest Tour stopped in the capital over the weekend, a flood of bogus tickets ruined the experience for many fans.

As previously reported, a total of 1,600 faulty tickets were reported for the first concert Dec. 9, and 110 for the second on Dec. 10. Both shows were at Estadio Azteca, with 80,000 people attending each night.

Due to the “oversale” of tickets, Ricardo Sheffield, head of Mexico’s Federal Attorney’s Office for Consumers (PROFECO), said that those affected must receive a 100% refund plus a 20% compensation, and that Ticketmaster Mexico must be fined.

López Obrador has played the ball back into Bad Bunny’s court. Though the government couldn’t offer the Puerto Rican singer a fee, he said taxpayers would cover the cost for lights, stage and sound system, and even install a zip line.

“I would tell him how deeply we were touched to see young people sad because they couldn’t get in, because they had duplicated tickets, because they were victims of fraud,” the Associated Press quotes López Obrador.

Bad Bunny’s representatives did not immediately respond to the AP on the president’s offer.

Mexico’s consumer protection agency has said it will investigate the ticketing fiasco, which saw Bad Bunny’s show on Friday delayed for almost an hour.

According to the AP, Ticketmaster Mexico has said the event was highly sought-after but denied the concerts were oversold. A company statement said 4.5 million requests, with counterfeit tickets blocking some legitimate ticketholders from entry.

Despite the situation in Mexico City, Bad Bunny can look back on another dominant year, one that made him the biggest artist on the planet.

On the live front, Bad Bunny was the year’s highest-grossing touring artist, with over $373.5 million in ticket sales, according to Boxscore (with 20 Latin American stadium shows still left to play and tally).

On the recording side, his May album release Un Verano Sin Ti, via independent label Rimas Entertainment and distributed through The Orchard, is the first non-English album to ever top the year-end Billboard 200, after logging 13 weeks at the summit.

In November, it also became the first all-Spanish release nominated for album of the year at the Grammy Awards, and led Spotify’s annual albums chart.

The singer and rapper came in at No. 1 on Spotify’s most-streamed global artists list, with more than 18.5 billion streams in 2022, and becomes the first artist to top the tally for three consecutive years.

Baker Boy adds to his heaving collection of trophies with a hattrick at the Music Victoria Awards, presented Tuesday (Dec. 13) in central Melbourne.
The Fresh Prince of Arnhem Land, and he’s known in these parts, was the big winner, topping categories for best regional act, best song and the coveted best album honor for his full-length debut Gela (Island Records/Universal Music Australia), which peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Chart.

The singer, songwriter, rapper and dancer entered the event in great awards form. He was a dominant force at the 2022 ARIA Awards last month, where he collective five wins, including album of the year, best hip-hop/rap release, and best solo artist.

Also, at the 2022 NIMAs in August, he took home artist of the year and album of the year. In 2021, the year Gela was released, Baker Boy received an Order Of Australia (OAM) medal for “service to the performing arts as a singer and musician,” to go with his young Australian of the year honor, from 2019.

With his Music Victoria triumph, Baker Boy (real name Danzal Baker) boasts eighth Music Victoria Awards, including four scooped in 2018.

Following the release of Pre Pleasure (Liberation Records/Mushroom Group), Julia Jacklin won the Music Victoria Award for best solo artist. Jacklin’s critically-acclaimed third studio album hit No. 2 on the ARIA Chart, No. 1 on the ARIA Australian Album and Vinyl charts, and last month took out the ARIA for best adult contemporary album.

Organized by trade body Music Victoria, the awards were decided by a panel of more than 200 music experts, and the “largest public voting response” in its 17-year history, organizers say. This year’s in-person ceremony took place at The Edge, on Federation Square.

Other winners on the night included soul artist Emma Donovan and her band The Putbacks (best group); Noongar woman and Naarm artist Bumpy (the Archie Roach Foundation Award for emerging talent); “Native Tongue” singer Mo’Ju (best soul, funk, R&B or gospel work); punk band Pinch Points (best rock or punk work); Harvey Sutherland (best electronic act); Georgia State Line (best country), and Alice Ivy (best producer).

In one of the special moments of the event, Deborah Conway, the singer, songwriter and one-time leader of post-punk outfit Do-Re-Mi, was inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame. Georgia State Line Conway’s paid musical tribute with a cover of Conway’s glorious love-struck number “It’s Only the Beginning.”

“I played my first gig 44 years ago and was hooked,” Conway said from the podium. “Music has been my lifelong map. I’ve followed the well lit way, the rocky back alleys, the detours and shortcuts, worked and played with incredible people in extraordinary places for the best and worst audiences and the worst and best sound and my interest has never flagged; how tremendous to be rewarded for doing something you would do regardless.”

Meanwhile, Helen Marcou & Ian “Quincy” McLean of Bakehouse Studios were inducted into the Hall of Fame, for their tireless efforts in supporting the country’s music culture.

It’s a one-two punch for Metro Boomin this week as the hitmaking producer takes over at No. 1 on both Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts. The former comes through the No. 1 arrival of “Creepin’,” with The Weeknd and 21 Savage, while the latter’s new champ is “Superhero (Heroes & Villains),” with Future and Chris Brown. Both tracks appear on Metro Boomin’s new album, Heroes & Villains, which likewise debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

“Creepin’, by itself, scores another double play as the song also storms in at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It traces its entrance on the list, which factors streaming, radio airplay and sales into its rankings, mostly to 30.8 million official U.S. streams in the week ending Dec. 8, according to Luminate. The sum prompts a No. 1 arrival on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart. It also begins at No. 4 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart with 3,000 downloads sold in the same period and registered 2.3 million in radio airplay.

The new champ also brings a former genre hit back into play. “Creepin’” heavily reworks Mario Winans’ “I Don’t Wanna Know,” featuring P. Diddy and Enya, which reached No. 2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in 2004.

“Creepin’” gives Metro Boomin his first No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. He previously reached a No. 5 best on another 21 Savage collaboration: The pair’s “Runnin” debuted and peaked there in October 2020.

21 Savage, for his part, picks up his fifth Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs leader and third of 2022, after a featured turn on Drake’s “Jimmy Cooks,” a one-week No. 1 in July and “Rich Flex,” with Drake, for the four prior weeks. Thus, as “Creepin’” replaces “Rich Flex,” 21 Savage is the first act to complete a self-replacement at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs since Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” ceded the throne to “Good as Hell” in November 2019.

The Weeknd, meanwhile, adds his seventh career No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. On Hot R&B Songs, though, The Weeknd achieves his 10th leader and extends his record as the artist with the most No. 1s on the list since it launched in 2012. Here’s an updated look at his chart-topping collection on Hot R&B Songs:

“Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey),” 14 weeks at No. 1, beginning April 11, 2015“Can’t Feel My Face,” 11, July 18, 2015“The Hills,” 14, Oct. 3, 2015“Starboy,” featuring Daft Punk, 20, Oct. 15, 2016“Call Out My Name,” one, April 14, 2018“Heartless,” one, Dec. 14, 2019“Blinding Lights,” 48, March 7, 2020“You Right,” with Doja Cat, one, Sept. 4, 2021“Sacrifice,” one, Jan. 22, 2022“Creepin’,” with Metro Boomin & 21 Savage, one (to date), Dec. 17, 2022

Both Metro Boomin and 21 Savage each earns his first No. 1 on Hot R&B Songs.

Over on the Hot Rap Songs chart, “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” begins with 27.4 million official U.S. streams, 1,000 in download sales and 149,000 in radio airplay in the week ending Dec. 8.

In line with the Hot R&B Songs achievements, Metro Boomin acquires his first Hot Rap Songs No. 1. “Runnin,” with 21 Savage, which peaked at No. 5, was his prior best showing.

Future gets his third Hot Rap Songs No. 1, after he and Young Thug’s guest spots on Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy” led for two weeks in 2021, and his own “Wait for U,” featuring Drake and Tems, a two-week champ earlier this year.

Chris Brown grabs his fifth champ on Hot Rap Songs and returns to the summit for the first time in almost exactly eight years. “Superhero” joins this crew as the latest of Brown’s chart-toppers:

“Shortie Like Mine,” Bow Wow featuring Chris Brown & Johnta Austin, seven weeks at No 1, beginning Dec. 2, 2006“Look at Me Now,” featuring Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes, 10, April 23, 2011“My Last,” Big Sean featuring Chris Brown, two, July 2, 2011“Only,” Nicki Minaj featuring Drake, Lil Wayne & Chris Brown, one, Dec. 27, 2014“Superhero (Heroes & Villians),” with Metro Boomin & Future, one (to date), Dec. 17, 2022

Elsewhere, both songs start in the top 10 of the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, with “Creepin’” arriving at No. 5 and “Superhero” at No. 8. The pair lead all 15 songs from Heroes & Villians onto the chart.

Taylor Swift has been dating Joe Alwyn since 2016, and while they’ve been together for six years, the couple has remained private about everything surrounding their relationship.
While the couple’s relationship is strictly off-limits when it comes to the press, Swift and Alwyn have briefly mentioned each other in interviews throughout the years, showing the respect and love they still have for each other after all this time.
They’ve even written songs together. Alwyn contributed to both 2020’s Folklore and its sister album Evermore under his literary-leaning pen name — co-writing the Bon Iver duet “Exile” and producing six other songs on the former, as well as penning “Champagne Problems,” The National-assisted “Coney Island” and second Justin Vernon collab “Evermore” on the latter.
In fact, thanks to his songwriting credit on Folklore, the actor even took home his own Grammy after Swift’s surprise pandemic studio set won album of the year at the 2021 Grammy Awards. These days, Alwyn is focused on his primary occupation onscreen while Swift remains in the process of re-recording her back catalog of albums.
In honor of Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn’s super-private, but super-loving relationship, we’ve compiled all the times the longtime couple has talked about each other in the press, documentaries and beyond — from Swift admitting to fans that “Gorgeous” is about her boyfriend and confirming that he is, in fact, Folklore co-writer William Bowery to Alwyn sharing how he feels about love songs dedicated to him.

NBC’s The Voice just wrapped its 22nd season, which saw Camila Cabello joining the panel as a coach for her first season. In the upcoming season, Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper are set to sit in the spinning red chairs for the first time.
Over the reality singing competition’s history, Blake Shelton remains the statistically best coach in terms of winning seasons — having crowned a champ from his team in nine of the show’s 22 seasons.
When The Voice premiered as NBC’s answer to FOX’s juggernaut American Idol, the inaugural cast of coaches consisted of Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, Shelton, and CeeLo Green. (Shelton is the only coach to have stayed on the rotating panel since the beginning of the hit show.)
Apart from Shelton’s supreme reign as king of The Voice, a plethora of star-studded musicians have appeared as coaches to try their hand at the crown including Ariana Grande, Shakira, Pharrell, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas.
Below is a complete list of which coach won at the end of each season.

Diddy is full of surprises. After surprising the internet with the birth of his daughter, Love Sean Combs, the father of seven, dropped a short notice single alongside PARTYNEXTDOOR, titled “Sex in the Porsche.”

The track comes by way of Diddy’s Love Records imprint, in partnership with Motown Records, and is the second single from his highly anticipated fifth studio album, set to arrive in early 2023.

“Sex in the Porsche” follows Diddy’s 2022 single, “Gotta Move On” featuring Bryson Tiller, which topped Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay Chart. “Gotta Move On” was the first release from Diddy’s Love Records, a label that marks his “next chapter” with the aim of “creating timeless R&B music with the next generation of artists and producers,” the 53-year-old told REVOLT in May.

Recruiting game-changing R&B acts like Tiller and the elusive Canadian singer-songwriter PARTYNEXTDOOR could prove a successful strategy in Diddy’s efforts to bring attention back to the genre space.

Diddy has been a headline darling this week outside of the music, following the news of his daughter’s birth, reportedly with 28-year-old cyber security specialist Dana Tran. The announcement came as an all-around shock, considering Diddy’s highly publicized relationship with City Girls member, Yung Miami.

The rapper and talk show host, born Caresha Romeka Brownlee, took to Twitter to voice her frustrations regarding rumors that she’s Diddy’s side chick. ““I’M NOBODY SIDE BITCH LETS JUST MAKE THIS CLEAR ON THIS GOOD MONDAY! I don’t come 2nd to no bitch!” she wrote.

Soon after, Diddy himself chimed in on Twitter adding, “@yungmiami305 is not my side chick. Never has been, never will be. She’s very important and special to me, and I don’t play about my Shawty Wop. I don’t discuss things on the internet and I will not start today.”

The “Sex in the Porsche” visualizer features creative direction by famed choreographer Lauriann Gibson and stars rapper Rubi Rose. Stream it here.

It’s official: Lizzo can drink Seth Meyers under the table.
Proof of the Detroit singer and rapper’s boozing prowess is laid bare in a pre-Christmas “Day Drinking” session, which aired Tuesday night (Dec. 13) on Late Night.

Lizzo, who earlier in the week was named People’s Champion at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards, and sealed the deal with a rousing speech, had something of a victory celebration at Valerie in Midtown Manhattan. Just her, Meyers, some crew, and enough drink to sink a ship of sailors.

In an vacant bar decked in holiday goodness, the spirits flowed as the late-night TV show host and his guest got down to boozy business.

First up, a round of “guess the event.” You guessed right, Lizzo had to recall where she appeared in a selection of photos. No problem, the drinks hadn’t worked their magic.

Then, the pair necked cocktails with a Lizzo theme, starting with “About Damn Wine.”

It’s about this time when Meyers’ wheels fall off.

The pair keep knocking them down with a session based on “Truth Hurts,” where Lizzo has to answer honestly, or drink.

The “most absurd demand” in her rider? (Tampons, apparently. A good response but not “absurd”). Who’s more powerful, Oprah or Beyonce? (Lizzo drinks. She doesn’t want “the smoke”). Who’s the “most overrated artist” in music right now (“Have you lost your f***ing mind,” says Lizzo. Drink up).

It all gets loose before coming unstuck with some “knock knock” jokes, followed by a breakup game, the appearance of a Paul Rudd doppelganger, and a shambolic attempt to give a sign-off to camera.

Cheers.

The three-time Grammy Award winner can add to her collection — and perhaps celebrate some more — when the 2023 Grammys roll around on Feb. 5. She’s up for the Big Three categories – album, record and song of the year.

When he’s not hosting his regular late-night gig, Meyers has coaxed Rihanna, Post Malone, Lorde and others into joining him for spots of “Day Drinking.”

Watch Lizzo “Day Drinking” with Seth Meyers below.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is motoring on with “Sex In The Porsche,” the hip-hop mogul’s new collaboration with PARTYNEXTDOOR.
Diddy is listed as co-writer (with PARTYNEXTDOOR, real name Jahron Brathwaite) and co-producer (with Nyan) on the smooth cut, the second lifted from Diddy’s forthcoming album release.

The first, “Gotta Move On” featuring Bryson Tiller, arrived in October, part of a three-pack which included the Queens Remix and the Kings Remix. “Gotta Move On” went to No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay Chart in November, the first No. 1 for both acts on the survey.

According to reps, Diddy’s new album is scheduled to drop early next year through his Love Records imprint, a partnership with Motown Records.

“Sex In The Porsche” is accompanied with a visualizer featuring creative direction by Lauriann Gibson, and starring rapper and model Rubi Rose.

Diddy got his year in music underway by hosting, executive producing, and performing at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.

Later, Diddy and Tiller performed “Gotta Move On” alongside Teyana Taylor at the 2022 BET Awards in June. During the ceremony, the mogul was presented with the show’s lifetime achievement award, which featured an introduction by Jay-Z and a tribute performance from Mary J Blige, Lil’ Kim, Shyne, Busta Rhymes, The Lox, Faith Evans. Ye and Babyface also gave speeches during the event.

“Music has always been my first love; Love Records is the next chapter about getting back to the love and making the best music of my life,” he said of his latest venture. “For the label, I’m focused on creating timeless R&B music with the next generation of artists and producers. Motown is the perfect partner for my album, and I’m excited to add to its legacy.”

Since his career took flight in the ‘90s, the producer, songwriter, rapper, label executive and head of Combs Enterprises, has scooped three Grammy Awards, won ASCAP’s “songwriter of the year,”  and collaborated with a host of hitmakers, including Mary J. Blige, The Notorious B.I.G., Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Boyz II Men, Britney Spears and Kanye West, among others.

He’s not just a hitmaker. Diddy was in the news recently with the announcement of the birth of his seventh child.

After months of thrills, and near spills (certainly for Morgan Myles), America has chosen Bryce Leatherwood as the winner of The Voice 2022.

The country singer was guided throughout by Blake Shelton, and hadn’t hit a bum note during his ride.

Based in Statesboro, Georgia, the 22-year-old singer gives Shelton a record ninth victory. Shelton will get a chance to reach double figures in the win column before he steps away from the show at the end of the 23rd season.

Earlier, during the first part of NBC’s two-day finale, Leatherwood impressed with covers of Travis Tritt’s “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” and Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes”.

He wasn’t done there. During the finale, Shelton joined forces with his protégé for a performance of his 2011 hit “Hillbilly Bone”.

In the closing moments, Leatherwood out-pointed fellow Team Blake singers and Bodie, Team Camila Cabello’s Morgan Myles (Team Blake’s Brayden Lape and Team Legend’s Omar Jose Cardona were eliminated in the closing stages).

For Leatherwood, who is blessed with a name that resonates with country music, Christmas arrives early. His victory spoils include a recording contract with Universal Music Group and $100,000 in cash.

Prior to the nail-biting conclusion, The Voice finale also featured performances by Kane Brown, Kelly Clarkson, Maluma OneRepublic, BRELAND and Adam Lambert, who debuted his cover of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World.”
