Known Liar Donald Trump Repeatedly Pleads The Fifth In Deposition Video

The deposition video of former President Donald Trump was released, showing him repeatedly invoking the Fifth Amendment before New York Attorney General Letitia James – an action he previously belittled as something for “the mob”.

The video, released on Tuesday (January 31st) by CBS News, is from his appearance before New York Attorney General Letitia James’s office last August. James is heard introducing herself at the outset of the video before Trump delivers a rambling opening statement lasting seven minutes. “Anyone in my position not taking the Fifth Amendment would be a fool – an absolute fool,” he began.

Trump continued: “I once asked, ‘If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?’” – a reference to his infamous 2016 presidential campaign speech where he bashed attorneys for opponent Hilary Clinton. “Now I know the answer to that question. When your family, your company, and all the people in your orbit have become the targets of an unfounded politically motivated witch hunt supported by lawyers, prosecutors, and even the fake news media, you really have no choice.” He’d go on to trash the attorney general repeatedly as well.

Afterward, he stated: “Under the advice of my counsel and for all of the above reasons, I respectfully decline to answer the questions under the rights afforded to every citizen under the United States Constitution.” Kevin Wallace, the senior enforcement counsel in James’ office asked if that included the Fifth Amendment. “Yes,” Trump answered.

Trump would go on to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights more than 400 times during the four hours of questioning in the deposition. Journalist Shawn Peirce highlighted a montage created by BBC News which compiled the multiple times that the former president invoked the Fifth Amendment.

The release of the video adds more trouble to Trump’s plate. It coincided with attorneys for James’ office requesting the judge overseeing the $250 million lawsuit filed against Trump, his children, and his business for committing “staggering” financial fraud last September to place sanctions on them for making frivolous arguments in their written responses to the suit.

Finn Wolfhard Is Texting Winona Ryder About the Rock Stars She Dated in the ’90s

Finn Wolfhard is getting all the tea from Winona Ryder. In a new interview published on Wednesday (Feb. 1), the actor revealed he’s been asking his Stranger Things costar everything he could possibly want to know about her famous relationship history.

“She dated Dave Grohl and MCA from Beastie Boys, and all these people,” the 20-year-old frontman of The Aubreys said in a new GQ profile. “I could literally ask her what it was like knowing Kurt Cobain, and she just tells me everything.”

Wolfhard also described Ryder as “one of the funniest texters ever” who will often leave him on read for days on end. “She’ll text you and then you’ll text her back and then she won’t text you ever again,” he added. “She’ll text you whatever, say something like, ‘Oh, have you ever seen this movie?’ And I’ll be like, ‘No, I haven’t. How are you?’ And then just, nothing.”

It should be noted that, throughout the 1990s, the Little Women actress was also engaged to Johnny Depp and later dated both Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum and Matt Damon. While linked to Pirner, she even starred in the music video for his band’s 1993 single “Without a Trace,” the follow-up to their Grammy-winning breakout track “Runaway Train.”

These days, Ryder has been with longtime love Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011, though the pair have not yet married. Meanwhile, last month Wolfhard — as Ziggy Katz — unveiled new solo track “Pieces of Gold” from his upcoming A24 feature film When You Finish Saving the World.

Adidas Shuts Down Their Yeezy Supply Website

It’s official, adidas has completely cut ties with Kanye West as the grand closing of the Yeezy Supply website has put the rubber stamp on their very public and controversial divorce.

Months after adidas announced that they’d be terminating their business contract with Kanye West over his antisemitic comments, adidas has finally shutdown the Yeezy Supply website. Sneakerheads would frequently flock to the site whenever a hyped up Yeezy sneaker or slide would release. Nice Kicks is reporting that they noticed that the popular domain went dormant sometime this week. And many sneakerheads didn’t notice as their was no need to enter the website ever since adidas stopped selling Yeezy brand products.

From the web browser, the Nice Kicks team noticed that the info attached to the Yeezy Supply site reads, “UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO GIVE YOU ACCESS TO OUR SITE AT THIS TIME.”

After attempting to enter the site, the web page fails to load and states that the site cannot be reached. The “DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN” error message then confirms that the site is non-existent.

Well, that was bound to happen.

Though adidas will continue to sell the popular 350 Boost and Slide silhouettes without the Yeezy name attached to them, the question remains whether or not those products will continue to be a hot commodity now that they’re no longer associated with the controversial MAGA rapper.

It’s worth noting that adidas says it has over $350 million worth of Yeezy sneakers stashed in a warehouse somewhere with no clear indication on what to do with them. Will they sell them off? Give them away for a good cause? Maybe even re-sell them on the low and make even more money on the secondary market? Who knows at this point.

What is clear is that they want nothing to do with the man who made their brand more popular in these streets than they have been in decades. But hey, at least they signed Jenna Ortega to an endorsement deal. Sure, she doesn’t have the sway that Kanye West once had in pop culture. But that’s sure to help with something, right? Maybe they’ll just rebrand those stored Yeezy sneakers the new “Wednesday Addams” Boosts and make some money back.

Either way, it’s officially the end of an era and Kanye West has no one to blame but himself. Ultimately he’ll probably blame liberals and maybe even Jewish space lasers, but that’s neither here nor there.

Police Are Searching For 3 Rappers Who Went Missing After Canceled Detroit Show

Three Black Michigan rappers have been missing for over a week after their show in Detroit was canceled due to technical problems.

Armani Kelly, Dante Wicker and Montoya Givens went missing over a week ago after their show in Detroit was canceled due to technical problems. According to The New York Times, the men have not been heard from since Jan. 21, and both missing persons and homicide units with the Detroit Police Department are investigating. 

Wicker and Givens, both 31, were supposed to join Kelly, 27, who was performing at only his second show in his career. Kelly is from Oscoda, Mich., approximately three hours away from Detroit. He drove down for the show at a club called Lounge 31. 

His fiancée, Taylor Perrin, of Grand Rapids, Mich., said that she spoke to him at about 5 p.m. on Jan. 21 and that he told her about the technical difficulties and that he was planning to look for another venue with an open mic. 

According to the report, Kelly met Wicker and Givens while they were all in prison. While the police said that all three were to be at Lounge 31 Jan. 21 for a rap event, it is unclear if Wicker and Givens were also supposed to perform. The car that Kelly was driving which belonged to his mother was found in Warren, Mich., a Detroit suburb. 

Detroit Police have said that there has been no activity on any of the men’s phones since Jan. 21. “What was the most concerning, candidly, was the fact that there’s been no activity on their phones since they’ve been reported missing,” James E. White, the Detroit police chief, said at a news conference on Tuesday. “And that’s very, very concerning. That’s an unusual circumstance.”

Michigan police and police in three surrounding cities are actively working on the case. 

“Our determination and love for him is what’s been driving us this whole time,” Perrin told The New York Times. “And not knowing whether the man I’m supposed to marry is dead or alive — I can’t stop until I see his face again, and I won’t.”

In an impassioned rant on CBC’s Q With Tom Power, the 1975 frontman made it very clear how he feels about the wildly successful but internally troubled rock band’s 2009 breakup. “What are Oasis doing?” he said in a clip from the show posted to Instagram Thursday (Feb. 2). “Can you imagine being in potentially, right now, still the coolest band in the world and not doing it because you’re in a mard [tantrum] with your brother?”

“I can deal with them dressing like they’re in their 20s and being in their 50s, but acting like they’re in their 20s — they need to grow up,” Healy continued. “They’re sat around in Little Venice and Little Highgate, crying because they’re in an argument with their brother. Grow up, headline Glastonbury.”

If you though all that was harsh, wait until you see what the “Somebody Else” singer said next. “There is not one person going to a High Flying Birds gig, or a Liam Gallagher gig, that wouldn’t rather be at an Oasis gig,” Healy added. “Do me a favor: Get back together; stop messing around. That’s my public service announcement for today.”

It’s been about 13 years since Oasis — whose final lineup included the Gallagher brothers, guitarist Gem Archer and bassist Andy Bell — formally disbanded in 2009 after Liam and Noel had an argument before a performance in France. “It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight,” Noel, who afterward formed his band High Flying Birds, wrote on Oasis’ website in August 2009. “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

As recently as last year, however, Liam said that he’d be game for an Oasis reunion, meaning Healy will maybe — just maybe — get his wish someday.

“I’d love Oasis to get back together,” the “Wall of Glass” musician said in an interview. “If it happens, it happens. But I’m quite happy doing [my solo career]. We should never have split up, but we did, and this is where we’re at.”

John Legend is dipping into the world of skincare. The EGOT-winning singer-songwriter took to Instagram to announce that his new skincare line, LovedO1, is now available at thousands of CVS stores.

“Thrilled to share #LOVED01 is officially available in over 2000 #CVS stores! I stocked them myself,” he captioned an Instagram video on Wednesday (Feb. 1). Loved01 is also available at CVS.com and at Loved01.com. The brand will be in Walmart stores and on Walmart.com in March.  

Legend launched the unisex skincare brand — consisting of six, dermatologist-approved products that include face + body wash, face + body moisturizer, an exfoliating cleanser, shave cream, toning mist and face + body oil — with dermatologist Dr. Naana Boakye earlier this month. Lizzo Is Now – Legally Speaking – ‘100% That B-tch’

Lizzo is now — legally speaking — 100% that b-tch.

In a decision issued Thursday (Feb. 2), a tribunal at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office ruled that the superstar could register “100% That B-tch” as a federal trademark for clothing — meaning Lizzo now has exclusive rights to use the phrase on apparel.

Last year, the agency rejected Lizzo’s application for the trademark on the grounds that it was merely a commonplace “motivational phrase” aimed at “female empowerment,” not the kind of unique brand name that’s eligible for trademark protection.

But the USPTO’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) overturned that ruling Thursday, saying that people who see the phrase on a t-shirt would immediately think of Lizzo.

 “Consumers encountering ‘100% That B-tch’ on the specific types of clothing identified in the application ― even when offered by third parties ― associate the term with Lizzo and her music,” the appeals board wrote in its ruling.

Lizzo included the famed lyric — “I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that b-tch” — in her breakout smash hit “Truth Hurts,” but she didn’t actually didn’t come up with it herself. Instead, the singer pulled it from a popular internet meme, and she has since given its creator — Mina Lioness — songwriting credit on the hit track.

In refusing to give Lizzo the trademark, the USPTO had pointed out that backstory, arguing that even if the singer “popularized” the phrase, she was still not entitled to legally “appropriate” it for her own exclusive use on consumer goods.

But in Thursday’s decision, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board disagreed — ruling that Lizzo had clearly “popularized the lyric” and elevated “a lesser known phrase” into “more memorable status.”

“Lizzo did not originate the expression she encountered as a Twitter meme,” the board wrote. “Nonetheless, lyrics from songs are more likely to be attributed to the artists who sing, rap or otherwise utter them, rather than the songwriters.”

An attorney for Lizzo did not immediately return a request for comment. The USPTO does not comment on rulings by the TTAB.
