10 Lesser-Known Robbie Robertson Songs Worth Tracking Down

Here’s a quick guide to Robertson’s 10 best songs & performances that are either obscure or where his involvement is obscure.

Robbie Robertson wasn’t known as a prolific solo artist after The Band‘s “Last Waltz” farewell concert in 1976. He released just five proper albums between 1987 and 2019, plus one soundtrack that was entirely his (Music for ‘The Native Americans’ in 1994).

But he was remarkably productive as a collaborator, producer (of Neil Diamond and Jesse Winchester, among others) and contributor to various soundtracks, including those to movies by his friend Martin Scorsese. Indeed, he scattered great songs and performances all over the place — a co-write here, some soundtrack music there, even two Christmas songs in 1988 and 2019.

Following the news of his death Wednesday at age 80, Billboard compiled a quick guide to 10 songs and performances that are either obscure, or where Robertson’s involvement is obscure, that are worth tracking down.

Jung Kook Goes Shirtless for Smoldering New Calvin Klein Ad

Jung Kook‘s appeal knows no bounds, and Calvin Klein knows it. On Thursday (Aug. 10), the brand sent BTS ARMY into a frenzy after posting a brand new ad of the vocalist wearing items from its collection to Pinterest.

The stylish visual sees Jung Kook — with his curly shag haircut and signature lip ring — wearing a classic black denim jacket and pants set from the brand and a loosely fitted tie around his neck instead of a shirt. The BTS member smolders and grins into the camera as he descends lower and lower into a winding parking lot, with the branded waistband of his Calvin briefs peeking out onto his torso with each step he takes.

After the short clip made the rounds online, “JEON JUNGKOOK” started trending on Twitter with reactions from ARMY members dominating the topic. “JEON JUNGKOOK was born to be the finest, hottest and cutest Calvin Klein model there is,” one fan wrote, while another on Twitter added, “the modeling industry is so lucky Jung Kook chose to be a singer and Calvin Klein is so lucky to be the chosen brand for him to showcase that.”

Jung Kook’s sultry new ad further sets the tone for his upcoming solo album, which kicked off with the rollout of his smoldering single “Seven.” The Latto-assisted track similarly set BTS’ fandom ablaze due to the sexually suggestive lyrics in its explicit version (“You wrap around me and you give me life/ And that’s why night after night/ I’ll be f–kin’ you right”). The track hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 following its July 14 release.

For fans waiting on new music from the star, Kravitz told Billboard earlier this year that his next two albums are “pretty much cut” and that he’s eager to set off on the continuation of his world tour. “I was two years into a three year world tour when COVID hit,” he shared. “So I’m really happy to be getting back on the road and playing and sharing that experience with the people.”

He added that watching artists like Steve Lacy “reinspires” him. “It makes me feel great that there is that artistic freedom,” he said. “I’m always flattered and honored when those artists come up to me and tell me how much I meant to them. They grew up listening to my music and looking at the visuals, and felt that they could push the boundaries.”

Kravitz also recently unveiled his The Formative Years book made in collaboration with photographer David Hindley, who was given full access during the star’s legendary tours from 1989 through 1995.

Morgan Wade Gets ‘Real Housewives’ Star Kyle Richards to ‘Fall In Love With Me’ in Steamy New Video: Watch

What happens when you mix a country singer, a reality TV star and a whirlwind of dating rumors? Turns out you get a pretty steamy music video.

On Thursday (Aug. 10), Morgan Wade shared her new music video for “Fall in Love With Me,” starring Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards as her romantic interest. The video follows Wade as she moves into a house next door to Richards’ character, and the pair immediately begin having alluring thoughts about one another; whether its joint bubble baths, feeding one another various fruits, or nearly kissing while washing their cars, things get very sapphic very quickly.

While the clip implies that most of the steamy scenes were part of a dream Wade’s character was having, the end shows Richards arriving at her door, flowers in hand. “Make you hit your knees, pull out that ring/ Gonna make you fall in love with me,” Wade sings.

In a teaser for the video posted last week, the duo said they wanted to “troll the trolls” after fans of RHOBH speculated that Richards and Wade were romantically involved after the former announced her separation from her husband Mauricio Umansky. Neither Wade nor Richards have publicly come out as queer.

“I’ve done several music videos and every time there’s someone in it, they always assume we’re dating or something’s going on,” Wade said in the clip. “If you go on the Internet, you’ll see people are obsessed with us being friends … the Internet’s gonna be poppin’ off about this one, I’m sure.”

‘El Sol de Mexico’ Will Shine in Acapulco: Luis Miguel Announces New Mexican Tour Dates

Luis Miguel, endearingly known as El Sol de México, will shine in the emblematic port of Acapulco. The beloved Mexican icon will return to one of the most symbolic places of his artistic career as part of his continental Luis Miguel Tour 2023. On Dec. 27, he will land at the GNP Arena in that city, promoters ECO Live and GOJO Live announced in a statement on Thursday (Aug. 10).

The superstar will return to the famous beach resort in the state of Guerrero after a five-year hiatus as part of the new dates announced for his 2023 tour. His first stint began Aug. 3 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and he’s now added Acapulco, as well as another date in Mayakoba, Riviera Maya, on Dec. 31.

ECO Live and GOJO Live said all information regarding his show in Acapulco “will be communicated soon.” On Wednesday, the governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda, celebrated the return of the famous performer on her X (formerly Twitter) account.

“In Guerrero the Sun will shine stronger than ever to close 2023 with a bang. It gives me great pleasure to share with you the announcement of the return of @LMXLM in concert in Acapulco,” Salgado Pineda wrote in Spanish.

The Acapulco beach resort became a symbolic place for the “No Sé Tú” singer because of a luxurious mansion that belonged to him in the ’90s located there. Nestled in the exclusive Bonfil Beach, now called Punta Diamante, the house was characterized by its yellow color and huge windows that gave a wonderful view of the beach.

Micky, as he was affectionately known in his adolescence, lived for several years in that mansion in Acapulco, which then became his center of operations, before moving to Los Angeles and later to Miami.

His time in Acapulco was also portrayed in the 2018 Netflix bioseries Luis Miguel: The Series.

Miguel, who has placed 16 titles at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Latin Songs chart and nine on Top Latin Albums, reached a new record July 19 after becoming the Latin American artist with the highest number of songs on the Spotify platform with 23, and more than 100 million streams.

In September, the singer will kick off the North American leg of his CMN-produced tour, visiting key cities such as Chicago, Las Vegas, Miami and Los Angeles, before concluding Dec. 31 in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Following the success of his 2023 continental tour, the superstar announced Monday 50 additional dates for his Luis Miguel Tour 2024.

Cardi B Defends Her ‘Hair Growth Journey’ to Doubters: ‘Where Was the Genetics When I Was in School??’

Cardi B is defending herself from her critics once again, this time in regards to her recent hair growth.

On Wednesday, the “Jealousy” rapper took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify that her waist-length hair is not due to genetics, but is instead a product of keeping her hair healthy and well-moisturized.

The discourse started when the 30-year-old shared a photo of herself posing in the mirror with her hair freshly pressed. “My hair has grown sooooo much!!!” she captioned the image. “Let me know if y’all want a video [of] my HOMEMADE hair oil… handmade by ME!”

Naysayers quote-tweeted Cardi’s post, with one user writing, “Black Women wanting hair growth tips & oil from her is crazy,” and a second user adding, “Y’all really don’t see how a LATINA selling ‘hair growth oil’ to BLACK women could be misleading? A bunch of fried eggs.” The latter comment garnered a heated response from Cardi, who wrote on Aug. 9, “IM NOT EVEN SELLIN ANYTHING YOU DUMBA– B—H…I been showing my hair growth journey to my fans since 2016!”

In a follow-up post, Cardi shared images of her throughout her youth to her 20s and stated that her hair growth was a product of better care and quality ingredients.

“This is me as a child.. this is me as a teenager.. this is me in my early 20’s…and NOW,” she wrote on X. “Everyone wants to blame my hair growing on genetics but where was the genetics when I was in school?? The facts are you need hair products and good care that works for you to maintain it and keep it healthy.. sometimes it’s not even just about growth it’s about keeping it HEALTHY and the growth comes.”

Cardi, however, didn’t seem too bothered. After several fans backed up the rapper’s claims, stating that Cardi’s hair recipes have helped them on their own hair journeys, rapper Kash Doll chimed in and wrote, “Give me the f—in products lol f— them.”

Cardi happily replied, “Girl come to my house ….I will wash your hair down myself wit boiled onion water & make you a thick a– hair mask and have my auntie do your blow out …….Maaa liquor and food too !!!”
