Disgraced former president Donald Trump, who is currently trying to weasel his insurrection leading behind back into the White House and always falsely claims to be a picture of good health. A recent flick has many wondering if the wannabe “healthy” dictator is burning with a venereal disease.
A photo of Orange Mussolini, aka Donald Trump, leaving Trump Tower in New York City and waving to “supporters” went viral yesterday, not because folks love to see him but for the noticeably large red scabs or splotches on his fingers on his right hand.

After The Daily Mail noticed the marks and The Drudge Report picked up the story, Bill Clinton’s former advisor, legendary Democratic strategist, and slayer of Republicans, James Carville, had his own opinion.

In a YouTube video, Carville said he believed the “hand cuts” were signs the twice-impeached president could be suffering from syphilis.

“They don’t look like cuts to me,” Carville explained. “They look like sores. And I’ve asked a number of M.D.s what medical condition manifests itself through hand sores, and the answer is immediate and unanimous.”

“Secondary syphilis,” he continued. “I think there’s a good chance this man has the clap.”

Carville, who never misses an opportunity to drag Trump or any of his supporters, did admit he didn’t know anything about the photo, saying it’s “probably a Fleet Street rag” and noting it could have been doctored.

Trump has yet to comment on people thinking he is burning on his X, formerly Twitter knockoff for far-right clowns, Truth Social, but he did repost a video of himself claiming, “I actually feel better now than I did 30 years ago!”

Yeah, sure.

Other Opinions On Trump’s “Red Rashes”

Again, we are not definitively saying Trump has syphilis; one doctor gave his opinion on what could be behind the known germaphobe’s red rashes on his hand.

Per The Palm Beach Post:

“Rashes on the hands can be caused by a variety of factors, ranging from infections to inflammatory conditions to external exposures,” Zeichner said.

The professor suggested the marks could have come from dryness and overwashing. Trump, an avowed germaphobe, has just spent several days in Arctic conditions traveling around Iowa and speaking in public for the presidential caucuses.

Zeichner also says the rashes could have come from Trump’s penchant for golfing.

Anyway, that didn’t stop the jokes from coming in and #SyphilisDon from trending on Elon Musk’s crappy platform.

Ariana Grande, “Yes, And?” (Republic): Ariana Grande has been one of the most reliable hitmakers in pop music for over 10 years now, and though she’s only released one album so far this decade (2020’s Positions), she’s already scored a stunning five Hot 100 No. 1s since ‘20: two alongside The Weeknd (“Save Your Tears” and “Die for You”), one with Lady Gaga (“Rain on Me”), one with Justin Bieber (“Stuck With U”) and one totally solo (“Positions”). Next week, she hopes to add a sixth No. 1 to that 2020s tally, and her second one unaccompanied, with the arrival last Friday (Jan. 17) of new single “Yes, And?”  

The house-influenced song, released as the lead single from her upcoming Eternal Sunshine album, was easily the most-anticipated drop of the new year thus far, and came with a new dramatically staged and intricately choreographed music video, as well as instant radio support. But the streams for it, while considerable – it still rests at No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs USA chart, though it’s fallen significantly lower on other daily DSP charts – are not so overwhelming that it is likely to blow past Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me,” which spends its third frame atop the Hot 100 this week. 

To help get the new song over the top, Grande and her team have also released edited, extended, sped-up, slowed-down, a cappella and instrumental mixes of “Yes, And?” — all of which, as of writing, are currently populating the top 10 of iTunes’ real-time sales chart. The extra sales boost might be enough to make up the difference, but it will likely be something of a photo finish between it and “Lovin,” making for our first real chart suspense atop the Hot 100 of 2024.  

Jack Harlow, “Lovin on Me” (Genaration Now/Atlantic): For its part, Harlow’s crossover banger has hardly been letting up as the new year has unfolded. “Lovin” remains atop the Streaming Songs chart this week, while dropping just one spot to No. 2 on Digital Song Sales, and jumping 5-2 on Radio Songs. As long as its radio growth continues to offset its inevitable slippage in streams and sales, “Lovin” should remain a No. 1 contender for the near future – and it’s worth noting that Harlow has yet to even release an official remix or deliver a late night or awards show performance of the song, meaning he has still has cards to play if he ever wants to give the song’s momentum another adrenaline shot.  

21 Savage, “redrum” (Slaughter Gang/Epic): While the Billboard 200 albums chart has seen even less impact from new releases so far this year than the Hot 100, this week it should get a few big debuts, led by star rapper 21 Savage’s new set American Dream. The semi-surprise release, announced just a week ago after a “movie trailer” that may have just been a particularly cinematic (and star-studded) music video for proper album opener “All of Me,” is likely to contend for the No. 1 spot on that chart — with all 15 tracks from the album (Savage’s first unaccompanied solo LP since 2018’s I Am > I Was) littering the daily charts of streaming services all week.  

One song has proven to be the early runaway hit from the set: “Redrum,” a tough-talking, The Shining-referencing early-album highlight. The song, which even ends with a clip of Jack Nicholson doing his famous “Here’s Johnny!” speech from the aforementioned Stanley Kubrick horror classic, also got its own music video, set in the U.K. — where Savage was born, and was at risk of being deported back to at the turn of the decade. The natural buzziness of the song and video (as well as its intoxicatingly threatening chorus) has led to it being American Dream’s best performer on streaming – topping the Apple Music charts for most of the week, and finishing just behind Grande and Harlow on Spotify – and could result in a top 10 Hot 100 debut, which would be the rapper’s first appearance in the chart’s top tier on an unaccompanied solo track.  

IN THE MIX 

Kali Uchis feat. Peso Pluma, “Igual Que Un Ángel” (Geffen): Uchis’ fourth full-length album (and her second predominantly in Spanish) Orquídeas has already netted some of the early year’s strongest reviews, and is also likely to earn her second straight top five placement on the Billboard 200, after last year’s No. 4-debuting Red Moon in Venus. The set also has an obvious breakout single in the Peso Pluma collab “Iqual Que Un Ángel” — with a roller-rink disco groove that gets the música Mexicana superstar on the dancefloor for arguably the first time – which has gotten off to a strong start on streaming, and may get Uchis back to the Hot 100’s top 40 for the first time since 20201’s “Telepatía.”  

Lil Nas X, “J Christ” (Columbia): Much teased and much hyped by LNX himself, “J Christ” was looking like the most headline news-making debut of the week before Ariana Grande and 21 Savage announced their own new releases. Despite similar backlash to the song’s (and its accompanying video’s) religious themes to 2021’s Hot 100-topping “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” it seems unlikely that “J Christ” will make as big an initial splash, as the song does not currently rank in the top 100 on either the Spotify or Apple Music daily charts – though it has gotten off to a solid start in sales and radio, and its video is still near the top of the Trending chart on YouTube.

Paramore Pulls Out of Festival Dates in Latin America, Teases ‘Next Era’ in Progress

Paramore has once again pulled out of upcoming performances due to “unforeseen circumstances,” but worry not — it also looks like Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro may have new music in the works, implying that the band is still together and thriving.

In a Thursday (Jan. 18) post on Instagram Stories, a straightforward message said that due to “unforeseen circumstances, Paramore can no longer attend and perform at Vive Latino in Mexico City, Festival Estéreo Picnic in Bogotá, and Lollapalooza Brazil in São Paulo.” The statement also clarified that Nashville indie band Kings of Leon is set to replace the popp-rock trio at all three events.

The announcement comes two weeks after Paramore dropped out of this year’s iHeartRadio ALTer EGO show, also “due to unforeseen circumstances.” The band had also wiped their social media accounts clean around that time, leading some fans to worry about the its future.

Their most recent statement, however, said that Paramore “apologizes for any inconvenience” before teasing, “They will see you in the next era.”

Other than that, Paramore hasn’t addressed its withdrawal from shows or commented about what’s in store for the future. The group did, however, recently tease a Talking Heads tribute cover and music video with A24, with Williams unboxing an oversized David Byrne-esque suit jacket in a snippet from the project that ends with the frontwoman singing part of “Burning Down the House.”

The “Simmer” singer, York and Farro are also still set to support several of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows on the trek’s European leg this summer. And as far as any new music goes, Paramore is freshly finished with its contract with Atlantic Records, meaning the band is now a free agent for the first time in 20 years.

“We’ve been really lucky. We always will have gripes — it’s an industry — but we know that we’ve been really lucky,” Williams said prior to the release of Paramore’s most recent album, This is Why, last year. “It’s more just the fact that it’s time to f—ing finish something. And it’s time to know that we’re not doing the same s–t that we’ve been on since we were teenagers. It’s just going to feel so nice to start a new book. You know, like no more chapters of this one. Whole new book. And I’m excited.”

Billie Joe Armstrong Calls Conservatives’ Hysteria Around Trans Kids ‘F–king Close-Minded’

In 2023, a number of rock icons decided to talk about transgender kids and why they disapproved of giving them access to best-practice healthcare to help with their transition. In 2024, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong would like to break that trend.

In a new interview with The Los Angeles Times, the 51-year-old singer called out the conservative-led moral panic surrounding trans kids having access to gender-affirming care, criticizing those who would stand in the way of progress. “I just think they’re f–king close-minded,” he told the publication. “It’s like people are afraid of their children. Why would you be afraid? Why don’t you let your kid just be the kid that they are?”

Armstrong elaborated elsewhere, saying that seeing kids get to celebrate their identities earlier in life is a net positive, especially considering that his generation didn’t have that same luxury. “Nowadays it’s more common for kids to be LGBTQ, and there’s more support,” he said. “But for us, back in the day, that was like the beginning of when people were able to openly say things like that.”

When speaking about the band’s forthcoming song “Bobby Sox” (in which he nods to his own bisexuality by singing both “Do you wanna be my boyfriend?” and “Do you wanna be my girlfriend?”), Armstrong said it felt “liberating” to be in a place where he could sing about his sexuality. “It became more of a queer singalong.”

While 2023 was a record-breaking year for anti-LGBTQ legislation in the U.S., 2024 is already on track to break that record yet again. As of press time, the ACLU is already tracking more than 200 anti-LGBTQ bills in the 2024 legislative session, with 71 of those such bills aimed focused on “healthcare restrictions.”

Green Day, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of the 14th studio album Saviors on Friday (Jan. 19). In its interview, the band said that the new album centers more plainly on America’s current political strife ahead of the 2024 election, returning to the socially conscious themes of some of their past albums such as American Idiot and Revolution Radio.

“We purposely stayed away from politics [on 2020’s Father of All…] just because everything was such an easy target,” Armstrong said. “We didn’t want to be like this CNN band. And I think in the back of our minds, we knew that MAGA and the divisiveness was gonna be there four years later anyway.”

Whoopi Goldberg criticized GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley on Wednesday over her claim that the United States “has never been a racist country”.

Whoopi Goldberg didn’t mince words on The View on Wednesday (January 17) in blasting Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley over her claim that America has “never been a racist country.” Haley made that statement during an interview with Fox News the evening before. After playing the clip, the co-host began, “I don’t understand why it’s so hard to admit that racism has been and is a part of U.S. history.”

“When you think back, 1849, 1869, they lynched 20, 30 Italians because they were Italian. They lynched Black folks. Black folks didn’t climb up in the trees and lynch themselves,” Goldberg continued. “You know, people were angry and came and burned them out. Emmett Till did not do that to himself, that was done to him ’cause somebody was angry because he overstepped in their mind what he was supposed to do as a Black person.” The EGOT winner concluded her remarks before the rest of the panel joined in: “Yeah, we are trying to get it better, but stop trying to whitewash it because every time they say we’re gonna take away Black history, we’re gonna take away women’s history — what do you think that says?”

The discussion would be picked up again as Vice President Kamala Harris appeared on the show. She began by stating that it is unwise to turn such a topic into a mere soundbite before saying, “There’s no denying that we have, in our history as a nation, racism, and that racism has played a role in the history of our nation. I think we all would agree that while it is part of our past and we see vestiges of it today, we should also be committed collectively to not letting it define the future of our country.”

Haley’s recent claim statement follows a campaign run in Iowa mired by her refusal to acknowledge slavery as the prime cause of the Civil War. The former governor of South Carolina would try to deflect from that backlash, claiming that

she “had Black friends growing up” as a defense. She currently is trailing behind former President Donald Trump as the GOP candidates begin to campaign in New Hampshire.

The eight-day fest that takes place across 14 stages over two weekends — April 25-28 and May 2-5 — at the Fair Grounds Race Course, draws nearly half a million music lovers to a sprawling event that includes some of the biggest names in rock, pop, hip-hop, country, funk and jazz, including the usual compliment of homegrown legends.

Among the other acts slated to perform this year are: Hozier, Jon Batiste, Queen Latifah, Vampire Weekend, Greta Van Fleet, Heart, Widespread Panic, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Bonnie Raitt, Earth, Wind & Fire, Celebrating Jimmy Buffett with the Coral Reefer Band, Fantasia, The Revivalists, The Beach Boys, Big Freedia, Kem, Juvenile with Mannie Fresh, Irma Thomas, Joe Bonamassa, Steel Pulse, Cyril Neville, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Jeffrey Osborne and Rhiannon Giddens, and hundreds more.

This year’s Jazz Fest will also celebrate the music and culture of Colombia at the Expedia Cultural Exchange Pavilion, with 17 bands and a variety of artists sharing the unique sights and sounds from the South American nation, including Colombian salsa, cumbia, champeta, vallenato, chirimia, and currulao. There will also be daily parades honoring Colombia’s vibrant carnival spirit, with attendees getting opportunities to meet Indigenous and Afro-Colombian artisans, purchase their crafts and taste traditional Colombian food and drinks, according to a statement announcing the lineup.

Weekend and VIP packages are available here now, with single day tickets slated to go on sale in February; all tickets are subject to additional service fees and handling charges and an account with AXS is required for purchase. This year’s Jazz Fest will also offer a 4-day GA+ weekend pass for the first time, with access to an exclusive GA+ lounge with private restrooms, a full-service bar and shade. There will be a limited supply of 4-day second weekend passes including admission to the May 2 Rolling Stones set, the group’s only announced 2024 North American festival gig.

Choice Words: Kanye West Plans On Releasing A 40-Minute Apology Video

Looks like Ye, formerly Kanye West, might’ve been humbled by the backlash he brought on himself when he went on multiple antisemitic rants. Yeezus is attempting to once again apologize to the Jewish community for his Nazi-ish words.

For weeks now, Ye has been pushing back the release of his latest album Vultures, and according to TMZ, Ye now plans on releasing a 40-minute apology video before the album officially hits streaming platforms. Could this be the reason Ye keeps delaying the release of the album? We don’t know, but his day-one fans are getting antsy and take to social media to air out their frustrations every time a new release day passes without the album dropping.

Though Ye did recently release an apology, it didn’t seem to take as many felt it was a fugazi attempt to get back in the good graces of the Jewish community. Now it seems like Ye is going all out with his next attempted apology, and it could be pretty long.

Per TMZ:

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … the controversial rapper got some camera guys together to shoot a lengthy apology video several weeks ago — and we’re told it ended up running about 40 minutes … with Ye talking straight to the camera.

We’re told in no uncertain terms, Ye was “rambling” and at times it was impossible to decode what he was saying.

One more thing about this apology … our sources say whatever was shot is supposed to be released sometime ahead of his new album, “Vultures,” which is scheduled to drop Feb. 9 — this after several delays dating back to late last year.

Ye taking 40 minutes to apologize to the Jewish community and apparently rambling at times? Seems quite Trumpian of him. How could this possibly go wrong?

No word on when said video is set to release (or if it will actually even be released), but best believe once it does social media will be all over it either defending or trashing it. We just hope he doesn’t say some off the wall sh*t like “the holocaust was a choice” or something.

Renee Rapp Reveals She Got a ‘Little Scar’ From Her Viral Birthday Fall

This year is less than a month old, but Reneé Rapp is already knocking fans off their feet – and herself, literally – in 2024. And in between the release of Mean Girls and her upcoming appearance on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, the rising superstar stopped by Late Night on Wednesday (Jan. 17) to chat with Seth Meyers about her accomplishments, along with the recent viral moment she wiped out on the sidewalk on her birthday. 

“It was literally painful,” Rapp said as Meyers held up a photo of her scraped knee, followed by paparazzi snaps in Page Six of the “Snow Angel” singer taking a spill with a bottle of champagne in hand.  

“I was walking out and I was like, ‘It’s my f—king birthday,’” recalled Rapp, who turned 24 on Jan. 10. “I was like, ‘Who’s coming for me right now? Nobody.’ Mind you, I ended up coming for myself.” 

“It’s a sign I’m gonna have a great year,” she added, smiling. “I have a little scar.” 

Rapp, who’s fresh off the release of “Not My Fault” with Megan Thee Stallion for the soundtrack of the Mean Girls movie musical adaptation – in which the Broadway vet also stars – will make her SNL debut as musical guest on Saturday (Jan. 20). Earlier this week, it was announced that Rapp would perform at this year’s Coachella, billed just under headliners Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator and Doja Cat. 

“Chappel Roan is playing and I’m really excited,” she told Meyers. “So is Sabrina Carpenter – my girls are playing I’m very excited to go see them.” 

In addition to her birthday tumble, Rapp has been generating a number of viral clips while promoting Mean Girls on the film’s press junket. In one video, she rants about a “disrespectful” and “misogynistic” tour bus businessman named Buddy as her costar, The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Chris Briney, looks on in disbelief. 

In another recent video from BuzzFeed UK, she gently chides Briney for not recognizing Beyoncé or Lady Gaga in photos from their 2010 music video for “Telephone.” “Oh my– oh my god. Have you ever heard ‘Telephone?’” she asks him as he shakes his head nervously. 

“I’m like, sweating,” Briney tells her. “Am I canceled? Is this it for me?” 

“No you’re not canceled!” she responds, laughing. “You’re just straight, it’s OK.”

Earth, Wind & Fire, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary Lift Their Voices for ‘Super Bowl Soulful Celebration 25th Anniversary’

Earth, Wind & Fire, Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary are the first wave of performers being announced for the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration 25th Anniversary special. CBS will broadcast the one-hour special on Feb. 10 (8 p.m. ET). 

Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and Tichina Arnold, stars of the CBS series The Neighborhood, the special will be taped on Feb. 7 during Super Bowl LVIII week in Las Vegas. The taping will take place at the Pearl Theater in the Palms Casino Resort. Also performing will be The Players Choir. The ensemble of NFL talent has been a staple of the league’s Super Bowl weekend festivities for 16 seasons. Additional Super Bowl Soulful Celebration performers, honorees and partners will be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition, three NFL players will be saluted for their achievements on and off the field during the special. The honorees include Dallas Cowboys quarterback Rayne “Dak” Prescott (Faith In Action Award), Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin (New Beginnings Award) and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Markquese Bell (HBCU Player of the Year).

The Super Bowl Soulful Celebration 25th Anniversary is executive produced by Melanie Few, with Valarie Benning Thompson as producer. Television veteran Leon Knoles will direct, while four-time Grammy nominee Adam Blackstone will serve as music director.

Launched in 1999 during Super Bowl XXXIII, the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration was formerly known as the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. Over the last 25 years, the annual NFL-sanctioned program has welcomed performers such as Snoop Dogg, Pharrell Williams, Fantasia and Gladys Knight.
