In March, Carpenter and Keoghan made their public debut at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty. While the duo didn’t pose side-by-side on the red carpet, they did walk it at the same time, occasionally sneaking looks at each other. At one point during the party, the pair snapped a photo together off the carpet, covering the bottoms of their faces with their hands

Keoghan and the Girl Meets World alum first sparked dating rumors at the beginning of this year. At a recent Taylor Swift concert in Singapore, fans spotted Carpenter running into the actor’s arms after finishing her opening set, wrapping him in a tight hug.

Karol G in Latin America: All the Guests on her Mañana Será Bonito Tour

Karol G is making waves with her Mañana Será Bonito stadium tour. Following her successful stint in the U.S., she’s now captivating audiences across Latin America, accompanied by a slew of surprise guests and special invitees on many stops.

The tour began Feb. 8 at Mexico City’s renowned Estadio Azteca, where Karol shared the stage with 2024 breakout star Xavi, who performed his No. 1 Hot Latin Songs hit “La Diabla.” The Colombian hitmaker achieved a historic milestone as the first female artist to sell out the iconic Mexican stadium for three consecutive nights, drawing an impressive 80,000 attendees each evening.

She also performed in the Mexican cities of Monterrey, Guadalajara, as well as in Guatemala City and San José, Costa Rica. In the latter city, she shattered Coldplay’s record by selling 104,686 tickets across two sold-out nights (March 9-10), marking the highest ticket sales ever for a concert in the country.

In Santo Domingo, Dominican dembow artist Ángel Dior and Puerto Rican star Justin Quiles joined Karol onstage to perform “Ojos Ferrari” from her tour’s namesake album. And during her two-day stopover in Venezuela, the superstar surprised her fans with a reunion of Servando and Florentino, with whom she made an emotional trip down memory lane, to Salserín, a youth salsa orchestra. The Colombian singer and the Venezuelan brothers performed the 1996 salsa hit “De Sol a Sol” in front of 50,000 people.

Her tour will continue to make stops in Bogotá, Santiago and Buenos Aires and conclude in Asunción, Paraguay, at Estadio La Nueva Olla on May 2. However, the journey doesn’t end there. Karol will begin her European stint right after, launching on June 8 in Zurich, Switzerland.

As La Bichota’s Mañana tour continues, keep an eye out for the list of performers (surprise or not) from her Latin American leg below, including some opening acts, in alphabetical order.

Interpol Announces ‘Biggest Show of Their Career’ at Mexico City’s Zócalo

“We are absolutely electric with excitement to announce that we will be playing a free concert for our Mexican fans — and fans from all over for that matter — at the Zócalo in the heart of Mexico City on Saturday April 20, 2024,” the band wrote on their social media in both English and Spanish. “It’s a dream for us to be able to perform in such an iconic and historic setting! We are gonna give it some ganas, so be there or be square as they say. More information to follow soon.”

https://twitter.com/Interpol/status/1774851731114905612

The announcement was also made by the government and the secretariat of culture of Mexico City in a press conference and on social networks, causing excitement among fans online. “On Saturday, April 20, the Zócalo welcomes Interpol, a post-punk band formed by Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler and Sam Fogarino,” the post reads. “Come sing iconic songs of this New York band like ‘C’mere’ or ‘Evil’ in the Zócalo.”

Trending on Billboard

This is the second massive show announced so far this year in the Primer Cuadro of the city, following Mexican-American artist Julieta Venegas’ gig on March 16 to commemorate International Women’s Day, when she drew some 80,000 fans to the venue, according to figures from the capital’s authorities.

Interpol’s show in the Zócalo was a rumor that circulated for at least two years, when the group came to the Mexican capital to promote their 2022 album The Other Side of Make-Believe, and even visited the Museum of Mexico City.

“The concert will be an opportunity for Interpol to give back to their long and dedicated Mexican fan base for their unconditional support over the years,” the band’s press office in Mexico said in a statement, referring to the performance as “the biggest show of their career.”

Mexico City’s Zócalo, where international artists such as Paul McCartney, Rosalía and Roger Waters have performed, is the country’s main public plaza, and the second largest in the world after Tiananmen Square in Beijing. So far, the group with the largest attendance in the Zócalo has been the Argentine band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, which in June 2023 gathered 300,000 concertgoers, according to official figures, taking the record away from Mexico’s Grupo Firme, who in September 2022 gathered 280,000.

Interpol, the trio formed by Paul Banks (vocals and guitar), Daniel Kessler (bass) and Sam Fogarino (drums), has found its most loyal audience in Mexico. Banks, who lived and studied in the Mexican capital many years ago when his father, a top executive in the automotive sector, was temporarily transferred to Mexico, has talked about the loyalty of the band’s Mexican fans on several occasions.

The “Evil” and “Obstacle 1” musicians have headlined festivals such as Corona Capital Mexico City in 2019 and Corona Capital Guadalajara in 2023. Last year, they participated in The World Is a Vampire festival alongside the Smashing Pumpkins at the Foro Sol in the Mexican capital. A year earlier, they performed a concert at the Palacio de los Deportes to present their album Marauder.

Formed in New York in 1997, Interpol quickly rose to fame with their unique blend of post-punk, shoegaze and dark wave influences. Their debut album, Turn on the Bright Lights (2002), was critically acclaimed, establishing the band as a major force in alternative music. Over the course of their career, Interpol has released seven studio albums, including The Other Side of Make-Believe.

Here Are the Lyrics to Shakira & Cardi B’s Flirty ‘Punteria’ Translated to English

Shakira and Cardi B are currently making the rounds with her collaboration “Puntería,” part of the former’s latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran

The feel-good pop song with flirty lyrics finds the two artists singing about a man who’s not good for them, but his game is so strong, they’ve fallen for him.

“Puntería” (which translates to “aim”) was born after the two artists met at the Fendi show during Paris Fashion Week. In an interview with each other, during the music video shoot, they elaborated on their first collaborative effort.

Trending on Billboard

“I wanted to do something with Cardi. We were always discussing internally if it was a good idea to put someone on this song. I always pictured Cardi in this song. I reached out, and here we are,” Shakira said. “It’s been so fun to work with you. It’s so easy, honestly. She’s like, ‘I’ll do everything.’ I’m like, ‘Are you ready to work long hours? Because I work long hours.’ She’s like, ‘I’ll be there from 6 to 6 a.m.’”

After admitting she manifested to work with Shak, Cardi B gushed: “I knew it. I knew this day would come. It came. God is good, Jesus. I don’t care if she wants me to meow — I’m doing it. I cannot wait. Seriously, that is my dream.”

Below, check out the complete lyrics translated into English:

[Intro: Shakira]
You have good aim
You know where to target me so that I can surrender, surrender

[Pre-Chorus: Shakira]
You have style to call my attention
You throw darts at me that go straight to my heart
Oh, and as many times as I try
Oh, it’s impossible to avoid you

[Chorus: Shakira]
You have good aim
You know where to target me so that I can surrender, surrender
You attack me where it most hurts, you don’t suit me
But either in your bed or mine, I forget about all that

[Verse 1: Cardi B]
You, you got me stressin’, thinkin’ ’bout sexin’
Baby, keep me company
Give me your fire, squeeze my butt although you’re not the one for me
I got the night, night, put a man right to sleep
Yeah, I’m pretty lil’ thing from face to feet
I’m from the Bronx (Bronx), but I got a Georgia peach
I got a empanada, mama, that he love to eat (Muah)
A wolf like Shaki’, you’re my tiger
Bite me hard, don’t forget about this booty

[Chorus: Shakira]
You have good aim
You know where to target me so that I can surrender, surrender
You attack me where it most hurts, you don’t suit me
But either in your bed or mine, I forget about all that

[Verse 2: Shakira & Cardi B]
Where he puts the eye, he puts the bullet
He shoots the target and I fall as if nothing
But if you steal two kisses from me
I won’t even think about the third one
I’m indecisive all night
And wake up with shirt
Now I don’t know if I even want to stop
Your hands melt me, your lips drug me
Your biceps drive me crazy
I never direct you, you always go straight
To my G-spot

[Chorus: Cardi B & Shakira]
You have good aim
You know how to last, the other ones stay without battery
He throws darts at me and it doesn’t suit me
But I love it if he has it inside
I get kinky for you, I know that Cardi B will never leave your mind

You have good aim
You know where to target me so that I can surrender, surrender
You attack me where it most hurts, you don’t suit me
But either in your bed or mine, I forget about all that

June Carter Cash’s Daughter Defends Beyoncé’s Country Claim: ‘She’s One of Us Carter Women’

Beyoncé‘s new album Cowboy Carter has stirred up some discourse over whether she should be considered “country.” But as far as Carlene Carter is concerned, there’s no question that Bey is in league with her mom: late country icon June Carter Cash.

In a recent statement, Carlene condemned the “negativity” she’s seen in the days since Cowboy Carter arrived on Friday, bringing with it 27 new experimental, country-inspired tracks. “As a Carter Girl myself and coming from a long line of Carter Girls, I’m moved to ask why anyone would treat a Carter this way?” she questioned.

“She is an incredibly talented and creative woman who obviously wanted to do this because she likes country music,” continued the 68-year-old singer-songwriter. “In my book, she’s one of us Carter women and we have always pushed the boundaries by trying whatever music we felt in our hearts and taking spirit-driven risks.”

Trending on Billboard

Carlene is the daughter of June and Carl Smith, who divorced in 1956. The “Jackson” singer went on to marry Edwin “Rip” Nix in 1957 before splitting in 1966, after which she famously wed Johnny Cash in 1968.

Throughout her career as a country musician, June notched nine hits on the Hot Country Songs chart — a ranking Bey would become the first Black female soloist to top decades later with “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The single, along with “16 Carriages,” preceded Cowboy Carter, which features guest appearances from Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson.

“I admire and love her and all she does,” added Carlene, directly addressing the “naysayers.” “I am delighted to know that Carter spunk is in her just like it’s been through nearly 100 years of us Carters choosing to follow ours hearts, hearts that are filled with love not just for country music but for all kinds of music. Here’s a warm welcome to the Carter Girl Club!”

Carlene isn’t the first country star to defend Bey’s right to explore country music. Linda Martell, who is featured on Cowboy Carter, wrote on Instagram that she’s “proud” of the 32-time Grammy winner for “exploring her country music roots,” while Rihannon Giddens said in a recent interview: “People can do what they wanna do. They wanna make a country record? Make a country record. Nobody’s askin’ Lana Del Rey, ‘What right do you have to make a country record?’”

Plus, Queen Bey’s mom, Tina Knowles, reminded critics prior to the album’s release that her daughter grew up in the heart of “cowboy culture” in Houston. “There is a huge Black cowboy culture,” she said at the time. “Why do you think that my kids have integrated it into their fashion and art since the beginning? … We went to rodeos every year and my whole family dressed in western fashion… It definitely was a part of our culture growing up.”

Lizzo Says “I Quit” In Social Media Post

2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - Arrivals

Lizzo seems to be done with having to deal with constant criticism online, saying “I quit” in a recent social media post.

In a surprising post, Grammy Award-winning artist Lizzo publicly declared that she was through with the barrage of criticism she faced online, ending with the words, “I QUIT” with the peace sign emoji. “I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet,” she wrote. “All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.” It wasn’t made clear what she was referring to.

The singer continued: “I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views,” she added. “Being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look … my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name. I didn’t sign up for this s—t.” The post was made a day after the superstar singer performed at a sold-out fundraising event for President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign at Radio City Music Hall in New York City last Thursday (March 28), and another post made on March 17 wherein an upbeat mood she wrote that she was “writing some of the best music and I’m so excited for y’all to hear.”

Lizzo, also known as Melissa Viviane-Jefferson, rose to stardom with music celebrating self-love and body-positive acceptance. The 27-year-old has been under a cloud of controversy, dealing with one lawsuit first filed against her last year by three of her former dancers who alleged that the singer harassed them sexually and created a hostile work environment. Another lawsuit from a former designer was also filed against her. A judge denied her motion to dismiss the lawsuit outright from the dancers but did dismiss some of the claims made before allowing it to move to trial.

The post garnered heavy attention, with a bunch of commenters validating some of what Lizzo wrote in the post by throwing insults and jabs at her. Others wrote messages of support, including celebrity friends such as Hip-Hop icon Queen Latifah, comedian Eric Andre, and Paris Hilton, who wrote: “We love you Queen.”

Shure CEO Christine Schyvinck on the Next Generation of Female Leaders in Audio Technology: Billboard Japan Women in Music

President and CEO of Shure, Christine Schyvinck spoke with Billboard Japan for its Women in Music interview series featuring female players in the entertainment industry. The WIM initiative in Japan began in 2022 in the same spirit as Billboard’s Women in Music that launched in 2007, honoring artists, producers and executives who have made significant contributions to the music industry and empowered women through their work.

Beginning her career as a quality control engineer in 1989 at Shure, a leading global audio technology company with nearly 100 years of history, Schyvinck gained diverse experience and insight within the company which helps her move the organization forward to this day. In an email interview with Billboard Japan, Schyvinck shared her mission of getting more women involved in STEM to help them become the next generation of leaders and the importance of having a shared mindset within the industry when tackling gender inequality.

Growing up, were there any women you looked up to? How have those ideals changed over the course of your career and life?

In my much younger years, I paid attention to women in leadership roles and was quite curious about them. Female athletes, astronauts, and political leaders proved to me that women can go places and they inspired me. It was fortunate that I started my career at Shure, which had a supportive system and did not discriminate between men and women. This is a company that was led by Mrs. Shure herself from 1995 to 2016 – I got to work along-side her and understand her values and beliefs. That experience shaped how I work today, and now it’s my job to make sure women can find paths to success.

We can’t leave everything to luck – help is needed along the way. Women play an important role in the future of technology and one of my missions is working with organizations to try to get more women involved in STEM so they can understand that this is a viable career path for them that could result in the next generation of leaders.

You joined SHURE as an engineer and have had a successful tenure at the company for over 30 years. How has your experience in different departments and business units affected your career and life?

This is now my 34th year with Shure. You will not find many global CEOs who have been with their companies that long. I firmly believe it is important to experience new things in an organization. I started at Shure as a quality control engineer and was quickly exposed to learning about the types of issues sound professionals encounter daily. My job was to help ensure that our equipment was reliable and always ready for the show. Shure’s brand reputation was built on quality products and this company remains committed to delivering the best performing products.

I eventually moved from Vice President of Quality to Vice President of Operations, where I managed procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing, as well as quality. This was another essential experience because I was able to work with passionate people all around the world, dedicated to making great products that solved problems for our customers. In 2006, I moved into a role leading global marketing and sales, where I managed three business units in the Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and the Asia/Pacific regions. All this experience has helped me learn more about overall company operations, the global business structure, and what we need to do to meet the evolving needs of customers.

Having diverse experience within different parts of our company has given me an appreciation that not all CEOs are fortunate enough to have: I thoroughly understand the type of work that happens at various levels of the organization, and I know what our customers expect from us.

You earned a master’s degree in management engineering while balancing work with your career. Are there things you are working on or mindful of in order to achieve your current goals?

For me, being a strong business leader means listening. I work with so many talented people that help keep me informed of current business conditions and upcoming trends. I’ve found that having trust in your leadership and listening to customers is the best way forward. We are a customer-focused company and we’re not afraid to work shoulder to shoulder with people as they are working through problems. We like being out in the field and solving issues with certain venues or with certain performances. We’re problem-solvers and we share the end goal of having people in an audience be wowed during a performance. The only way this happens is attention to detail, attention to quality products, and attention in listening to what our customers need.
It’s also been helpful for me to have been where many of our Associates have been as I’ve worked my way through this organization. There’s no one blueprint for success, but for me, the combination of listening and hands-on experience has really helped me move the organization forward.

On the other hand, when faced with difficulties at work, how have you resolved them?

The key to overcoming difficulties in business is to surround yourself with smart, capable people who can collaborate to find the right solutions. Many minds can come at a problem from different angles and help find solutions that perhaps weren’t obvious in the way you were thinking.

Christine, you have been the CEO of SHURE since 2016, which is a rare feat in the audio and technology industry. Why do you think there are so few women executives in these fields?

Shure has been very involved with our trade group AVIXA and others in promoting women in the industry, but there is more work to do too. Women play an important role in the future of technology and it’s really never too early to start thinking about that career path. In fact, I think you have to reach girls when they are in junior high or middle school. They need to start thinking about classes in high school and organizations to join.

There are now so many schools and community organizations providing opportunities for all young kids to get involved with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), but if that awareness doesn’t hit them early, they won’t sign up or they might be intimidated. As an industry, we should always be looking at ways we can be more involved in getting kids interested in our fields. Then, once they are in the industry, they need to have equal opportunities to progress in their careers and elevate into leadership roles.

In terms of gender equality, what is Shure’s current stance, as well as the approaches it has taken in order to achieve it?

When Mr. Shure founded the company in 1925, even in those different times, he was very attuned to diversity, equity and inclusion. This has been part of Shure’s DNA from the beginning. McKinsey did a study a few years back called “Diversity Matters.” The facts are there – companies that have more diversity on their teams perform better financially.

We have been more aggressive with our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access (IDEA) efforts recently, involving our Associates in helping shape our communications efforts as we recruit, retain and celebrate a diverse workforce. Gender balance is a big part of that. Mrs. Shure led by example.

Diversity in backgrounds, whether it is from the tech sector, musicians, audio engineers, etc., is also important. We embrace this diversity because it helps us better understand our diverse set of customers, which range from major television networks and movie studios, to educational institutions, to musicians and concert venues, to global businesses to individuals who use headphones and earphones. We now have Associates working in more than 30 countries around the world. This gives us a much better handle on local market needs and how to grow in those regions.

In Europe and the U.S., women have more access to career development support through various programs and mentorships. Can you tell us about Shure’s women-focused initiative “WE VIBE”?

At Shure, we have been making a commitment to our own internal actions around IDEA efforts. Over the past two years, we have held Inclusion Panels, which are panels with our own employees, discussing their backgrounds, their challenges, and how we can all create a better workplace. These are streamed live and via recording for our Associates to watch and ask questions.

Our Associate-led resource groups or “VIBES” are each focused on Women, LGBTQIA+ and Culture/Racial Equity – and they have helped guide us in thinking about policies, activities and other support functions they would like to see from Shure. The WE VIBE provides additional resources and support for everyone within the organization who wants to contribute to a more diverse workplace and community. Within the industry, we are holding Women in Technology panels with pros from all over the world in the areas of theater, film and more.

Shure is also supporting a number of organizations focusing on increased inclusion and support that reach younger students to help them encourage careers in the audio industry – specifically in areas of STEM.

What do you hope to accomplish through this initiative?

We have many goals with those initiatives, but our two main goals are:  adding more women and diversity to this industry and celebrating and championing those who are already here.

Billboard US, launched Women In Music in 2007, an annual event to honor women artists and executives who actively made a difference that year. What are some key factors when raising awareness about gender inequality issues across the industry, including Shure’s initiatives?

This past year has been an empowering year for women in music. The top highest grossing concert tours in the U.S. were from Taylor Swift and Beyonce. There are so many up-and-coming female artists as well – not just in the U.S., but all over the world. We have been supporting programs globally that help women who are just getting started in music to teach them and provide them with opportunities to be successful.

It is also important to note the increasing growth in the women behind the scenes in music. And we are doing what we can with our efforts to help close those gender gaps.

Finally, what advice would you give yourself during the first year of your career? I think many young women who are looking to enter the music industry will be encouraged by your words.

Find who your friends are and don’t be afraid to ask them for help. Oftentimes, women think they have to figure it out on their own, lest they be thought of as “weaker” or “incapable.” Asking questions and finding a network of people who can help you actually builds strength and teaches you how to become a good mentor someday. Simply put, don’t try to do it all yourself.

Magic Johnson Posts Heartfelt Celebration of ‘Living Icon’ Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’

Magic Johnson continues to be a loyal member of the BeyHive.

The former basketball superstar took to Instagram on Friday (March 29) to celebrate the release of Beyoncé’s newest album, Cowboy Carter. “Beyoncé – It’s only fitting that I recognize a living icon as the world tunes in to listen to your newest album, ‘Cowboy Carter,’ which just dropped today,” Johnson wrote alongside a throwback photo of himself smiling alongside the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer. “You are truly a multifaceted force, with dominating presences as a singer, songwriter, director, actress, record producer, and entrepreneur! With over 160 million records sold, countless awards won (including a historical 32 Grammys), featured roles in eight movies, two fashion lines, and now a new hair care line..it’s impossible to argue that your influence on culture is irreplaceable.”

He continued, “You are women’s history! Just like I say Michael Jackson is the greatest male entertainer of all time, you are the greatest female entertainer of all time. I’m looking forward to seeing how you bring more representation into the country genre and continue to use your platform to uplift and amplify the Black voice.”

Treadmills are a great workout tool because they’re so versatile, and they actually work — I personally started my fitness journey on a treadmill and a stair stepper, and it wasn’t until I committed to a running and walking routine (and diet) that I started seeing results and was able to branch out into other fitness options.

It’s no secret that walking provides a full-body workout, and a treadmill is a great choice for homebodies. The benefits to walking include reducing (and regulating) blood pressure, weight loss and stress relief. Walking can also improve your immune system and reduce the risks of strokes and diabetes as well as types of cancer.

Although walking tends to be the more popular among the two, running offers most of the same benefits including lower blood pressure, weight loss, stress relief and improved muscle strength. Running can also reduce your risk of disease.
