RM Gets ‘Lost’ in Experimental Music Video

RM is fresh off the release of his brand new album, and the BTS superstar continued the celebration by dropping a new music video for the project’s track, “LOST!”

In the Aube Perrie-directed clip, the musician tries to navigate himself as he’s trapped in maze-like building with various floors and rooms. Eventually, he finds an airduct that puts him on set of a bizarre talk show, where he’s unexpectedly the musical guest. “I never felt so free before/ You’re goddamn ghost/ I never felt so fine before/ I hit the cloud,” he sings in the chorus. The track, “conveys a hopeful message that even if one is lost, perhaps it may all be fine if lost with friends by one’s side,” per a press release.

RM dropped his second solo effort, Right Place, Wrong Time, on Friday (May 24). Led by the single “Come Back to Me,” the album also features the alternative-based songs “Nuts,” “Groin,” “Heaven” and more. Overall, the LP reflects a “raw and honest presentation of RM’s distinctive sensibility, aesthetics, and beliefs,” per a BigHit release, and follows the South Korean artist’s 2022 debut album Indigo, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

NLE Choppa Breaks Down Kendrick Lamar Vs. Drake Beef | Billboard News

Ahead of NLE Choppa’s interview release, we give you a sneak peek where he breaks down the Kendrick Lamar & Drake beef, who won, and more!

NLE Choppa:

I think the win is like, you know, how Kendrick go home and feel about it, and how Drizzy will go home and feel about it. I think the win would be like both of them coming together and doing a song together. I think that’s one of the most beautiful wins.

Tetris Kelly:

NLE Choppa breaks down the Kendrick versus Drake beef and talks about his with Blueface.

NLE Choppa:

I can kill you on the beat and then I call you and be like “Hey bro, I’m done f—ing with you.” It gets real about the dangers of hip-hop taking it to the streets. At the end of the day, you don’t want to die, I don’t want to die. It can go either way.

Tetris Kelly:

We have a preview ahead of his full interview next week, but first his thoughts on the return of diss track culture.

NLE Choppa:

I fee like it serves a purpose to a certain extent. I love to look at it from like a competitive standpoint. I love to see competitiveness you know rather than sports, but with rap, when it comes with rap and competitiveness, sometimes it gets a little risky because some people really take it to the heart. I feel like that’s the part of it that you really got to tread lightly on because a lot of these people walking with a certain type of pride on their shoulder.

Millie Bobby Brown Marries Jake Bongiovi, Son of Jon Bon Jovi

Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi definitely aren’t giving love a bad name. According to People, the 20-year-old Stranger Things star and 22-year-old model — who is the son of Jon Bon Jovi — have gotten married after about three years together, tying the knot in a private wedding ceremony last weekend.

The young couple reportedly wed in an intimate ceremony in the United States with their parents in attendance ahead of a larger ceremony planned for later this year. The “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer shares Jake — as well as daughter Stephanie and sons Jesse and Romeo — with his wife, Dorothea Hurley.

Billboard has reached out to Brown’s reps for comment.

Trending on Billboard

The news comes just over a year after the Damsel actress unofficially confirmed her engagement to Bongiovi last April, posting a photo of her ring and quoting Taylor Swift’s “Lover”: “I’ve loved you for three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.” The couple first sparked dating rumors in June 2021, and have appeared to be inseparable ever since.

In August, Brown revealed that she and the aspiring actor first connected over Instagram. “I was interested in him and wanted to know more,” she told the Sunday Times. “As soon as we spoke I knew he was going to be a huge part of my life. After we met we knew we never wanted to leave each other’s side.”

And for the record, Bongiovi’s rockstar dad has been onboard with the wedding from the beginning. “I don’t know if age matters,” Bon Jovi told Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show last year, noting that Dorothea was his high school sweetheart. “You know, if you find the right partner and you grow together — I think that would be my advice really, is growing together is wise. So I think that all of my kids have found the people that they think they can grow together with and we like them all.”

On Set With SEVENTEEN: Exclusive Photos From ‘Cheers to Youth,’ ‘Spell’ & ‘LALALI’ Video Shoots

Throughout May, SEVENTEEN released three new music videos — “Cheers to Youth,” “Spell” and “LALALI” — highlighting each of the K-pop boy band’s distinct units.

If you’re new here: the three subsects of SEVENTEEN are the Vocal Unit, Performance Unit and Hip-Hop Unit. Making up the first are bandmates WOOZI, JOSHUA, DK, JEONGHAN and SEUNGKWAN, who teamed up for “Cheers to Youth,” an upbeat, Japanese-rock-inspired track that taps into the essence of youth. The song’s video finds the five guys portraying a group of young people dealing with personal struggles that come together in the “Tiny ISSUE CLUB,” where they find solace in their shared connection.

HOSHI, JUN, THE8 and DINO make up the Performance Unit, whose dreamy amapiano song “Spell” is all about the power of love. In the video, the performers transform into the human embodiments of the Sun, Wings, Heart and Arrow tarot cards.

Finally, the Hip-Hop Unit delivered “LALALI,” a swaggering EDM-infused smash. Members S.COUPS, WONWOO, MINGYU and VERNON strut through colorful cityscapes and ride in speeding luxury cars in the track’s visual, showing off their unshakeable confidence.

All three of the tracks are featured on the boy band’s April 2024 compilation 17 Is Right Here, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 earlier this month. Featuring both old and new songs, the project is a “reminder of SEVENTEEN’s self-progression and their relentless evolution as artists that also signals “a promising way forward with much more to unveil,” per a recent HYBE release.

Gayle King Shoots Her Shot at Lenny Kravitz in Viral Interview Moment

Lenny Kravitz swept Gayle King off her feet in a new CBS Morning interview, and the journalist turned up the heat when she got flirty at one point during their conversation.

“Asking for a friend, is there love in your life right now? Do you have a significant other in your life? And can I beat her a— if she is?,” King said to Kravitz, to which the rockstar laughed and said, “Wow.”

Gayle continued, “Oops, did I say that out loud? I’m non-violent Lenny Kravitz!”

To answer her question, Kravitz admitted, “I’m just open. […] It’s hard not to look. When you desire something, you’re looking for it. I find that when you don’t look, you find it. I’m at a place where — I’ve said this for several years — I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready. I wasn’t ready, right? I can say that I’ve never felt how I feel now.”

Trending on Billboard

On his confidence, the rockstar shared, “It’s a constant journey, but I feel great.”

Kravitz is fresh off the release of his new album, Blue Electric Light, which arrived on Friday (May 24) via Roxie Records/BMG. The project was written and recorded by Kravitz in his studio in the Bahamas, and features the previously-released cuts “Paralyzed,” “TK421” and “Human.” The collection, he told Jimmy Fallon for a late-night interview that aired in March, is about “celebration, life, humanity, sexuality, sensuality, spirituality.” Blue Electric Light is “just that vibration of love, of god, of spirit.”

New Kids on the Block Reflect on New Album ‘Still Kids’ & ‘Not Wanting to Let Each Other Down’

Last week, New Kids on the Block made their long-awaited return with Still Kids, their first full-length album in 11 years — and a project on which the long-running pop quintet sounds reinvigorated. During a sit-down with Billboard News, Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood discussed how NKOTB’s first album in over a decade came together slowly but surely.

“Donnie kind of kicked it off,” McIntyre, who co-wrote roughly half of the songs on Still Kids, told Billboard, “and we’ve had success with singles, one-offs. The last song we had was [2022 single] ‘Bring Back the Time,’ great reaction there. And that sort of kicked off, ‘Maybe let’s do some more music.’ Donnie started writing, and Jordan started recording vocals. … It did take a lot! There was a lot of passion, and I heard a lot of passion. But there was a lot of give-and-take, and space to feel what this was gonna become when we all got involved.”

Instead of flying to one location and working on the album together, New Kids tinkered with Still Kids remotely — and instead of allowing that recording process to result in a disjointed project, the guys said that they pushed themselves to deliver their best material to the rest of the group.

“There’s a sense of not wanting to let each other down,” Wahlberg explained. “There’s an urgency that I think you can sometimes hear in the voices, of wanting to deliver the best of a performance. I think that’s present in this record, even in the writing.”

Next month, New Kids on the Block will kick off the Magic Summer 2024 tour, also featuring Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff. The latter was featured on the Still Kids highlight “Get Down.”

Ahead of the tour kick-off on June 14, watch the group discuss their relationship with boy bands who have come before and after them, playing their enduring smashes on the road, the changing landscape of the music industry and, of course, their beloved Boston Celtics.

If you haven’t noticed, WNBA games are becoming more popular by the week, due in part to this year’s rookie squad, which includes Caitlyn Clark, Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, Rickea Jackson and McKenzie Forbes. The WNBA’s season opener between Indiana and Connecticut Sun was the most watched WNBA game ever on ESPN. The game, featuring Clark’s regular season debut, wracked up 2.1 million viewers and peaked at 2.3 million.

Trending on Billboard

And the ratings spike didn’t end there. Phoenix Mercury vs. Las Vegas Aces, the second season opener of the night, averaged 464,000 viewers, up 5 percent. The WNBA has also seen a jump in ticket sales which could get even higher once Clark and Reese, of the Chicago Sky, meet up for the first Indiana vs. Chicago game of the season airing June 1 on ESPN.

Reese and Chicago scored a win over the New York Liberty on Thursday, ending Liberty’s four-game winning streak for the season and lifting the Sky’s record to 2-1.

Despite scoring high ratings, Indiana has struggled to secure a win thus far. The team is currently 0-5 going into tonight’s game against the Sparks (1-2).

Tank & Fabolous Hit No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay With ‘Before We Get Started’

Tank hits No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart for a ninth time, as “Before We Get Started,” featuring Fabolous, rises to the top of the June 1-dated survey.

“Before We Get Started” is Tank’s third straight ruler, following “Slow,” featuring J Valentine, in 2022 and “See Through Love,” featuring Chris Brown, last year. It’s the first time that the singer has strung together three No. 1s in a row, following two prior streaks of two.

Tank first led Adult R&B Airplay in 2007 with “Please Don’t Go.” His nine No. 1s tie him with Usher for the fourth-most in the ranking’s nearly 31-year history.

Trending on Billboard

Most No. 1s, Adult R&B Airplay:

  • 14, Alicia Keys
  • 11, Toni Braxton
  • 10, Charlie Wilson
  • 9, Tank
  • 9, Usher
  • 8, Mary J. Blige
  • 8, Bruno Mars
  • 8, H.E.R.
  • 8, Kem
  • 8, Maxwell

As for Fabolous, “Before We Get Started” marks the rapper’s first No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay, in his second appearance; he peaked at No. 35 as a featured act (alongside Jamie Foxx) on Ne-Yo’s “She Got Her Own” in 2009.

Concurrently, “Before We Get Started” lifts 18-16 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, which mixes mainstream R&B/hip-hop and adult R&B audience data. While Tank has appeared on the list a dozen times over the past decade, Fabolous claims his highest-charting song on the ranking since 2013, when his “Ready,” featuring Chris Brown, peaked at No. 14.

“Before We Get Started” is from Tank’s R&B Money: The Vault, a 2024 re-release of his 2022 album R&B Money.

All Billboard charts dated June 1 will update on Billboard.com Wednesday, May 29, a day later than usual due to the Memorial Day holiday May 27.
