Ariana Grande Says Rumored Audrey Hepburn Biopic Would Have to Be Done ‘So Perfectly’

Ariana Grande is no stranger to the law of attraction, as she points out in her song “Just Like Magic” and as seen in a 2011 tweet in which she predicted she’d portray Glinda in Wicked one day.

Before Grande was honored at the National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala on Tuesday night (Jan. 7), she spoke to Entertainment Tonight on the carpet, where the reporter pointed out that her pink structured gown and ponytail and bangs combo are reminiscent of something Audrey Hepburn might wear.

“I love the 50s, 60s glamour, that’s just kind of my favorite — Marilyn, Audrey, it’s just my favorite,” Grande replied. When she was asked if she’s in the process of “manifesting” a role as the late Breakfast at Tiffany’s icon, the “Yes, And?” singer seemed surprised.

“That would have to be done so well and so perfectly,” she noted of a potential biopic role, and told the reporter that she’s “very kind” for making the comparison.

While rumors about a biopic have been swirling for years, there has yet to be any significant movement in the project. Actress Rooney Mara was most recently lined up to portray Hepburn in a Luca Guadagnino-helmed production, though she shared earlier this year that the director is no longer part of the film. Lily Collins was also reportedly suggested for the role, due to the duo’s uncanny resemblance.

Stream ‘Wallace & Gromit’ and ‘Flow,’ Get 2-for-1 Broadway Tickets: Billboard Family Hits of the Week

Broadway Week in NYC is an annual ticket promotion that basically offers the chance to get Broadway tickets for half price (when you buy a pair), or the opportunity to get an upgraded seat location at a discounted price. If Broadway’s been on your family’s wish list, this could be a good time to make a trip to the city. Tickets for 2025 just went on sale and are available here.

The discount code to buy two tickets for the price of one is: BWAYWK25

The discount code to buy “better seat locations” at $138.50 per ticket is: BWAYUP25

Discounted tickets were made available for the following Broadway shows: & Juliet, Aladdin, A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical, The Book of Mormon, Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, Chicago, Cult of Love, Death Becomes Her, English, Eureka Day, The Great Gatsby, Gypsy, Hadestown, Hamilton, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Hell’s Kitchen, Left on Tenth, The Lion King, Maybe Happy Ending, MJ, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Oh, Mary!, Redwood, Romeo + Juliet, Six the Musical, Sunset Blvd and Wicked.

For elementary school-aged kids and older: Wicked is the obvious go-to right now, but seemingly too popular — I looked for tickets for my own kid at on-sale, and didn’t find anything that worked for us. They sold out quickly. The Lion King is a great choice for most families; Aladdin is also available. Both Disney productions suggest they’re best for ages 6 and up. It’s generally recommended to wait until kids are at least 4 to sit through any Broadway musical, in respect of the performers (and other patrons who paid to see the show without interruptions), but 6 is a better bet.

For tweens and up: Consider Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (this one is not a musical, and it’s a long show, but it’s a must-see for lovers of the Harry Potter series), Hadestown (especially for kids interested in Greek mythology) and Six the Musical.

For teens and older: Whether they love a good Broadway musical or find the idea of a Broadway musical cringe, Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler starring in Romeo + Juliet — with music by Jack Antonoff — might pique their interest. Other shows to look into that teens will likely enjoy: Maybe Happy Ending and The Great Gatsby.

Lil Baby Has Joint Project With Future ‘Damn Near Done’ But Young Thug May Want In

Lil Baby isn’t wasting any time in 2025. Following the arrival of his WHAM album, he’s not slowing down with plenty of heat in store for the rest of the year.

WHAM album, Dominique album, Can’t Be F—-d With tape — a compilation remember I was telling you I got that coming,” he teased of what’s to come. “Me and Future was working on a joint tape. We damn near got the joint tape done. Now [Young Thug] came home and he ain’t going for that. He like, ‘S–t.’ And it actually [was] Thug’s idea.”

Baby continued: “He [was] like, ‘Ay, call Pluto. I want y’all to do a tape together.’ [It’s] Completely Thug’s idea. You and Pluto need to drop a tape together. He damn near named the tape. This before he got out. Now he got out, he like, ‘I’m on the tape.’ We might got something big in store on that. I don’t know exactly but it’s gonna be a lot in the works.”

The Atlanta rapper explained that he’s got so many songs in the stash with Thugger since the YSL boss is a studio rat. In the two-plus months he’s been home, Baby claims they have 10 songs done. “We done made so many songs,” he continued. “Thug he a lab rat. All he do is God damn stay in the studio. He came home and we already made 10 songs together.”

Young Thug was released on Oct. 31 after reaching a plea deal in the YSL RICO case. He spent over two years behind bars in what was the longest-running trial in Georgia’s state history.

Thugger teamed up with Future back in 2017 for the Super Slimey joint project, so it could be a full-circle ATL moment if the duo joined forces with Baby and ran it back for another edition.

Lil Baby released his WHAM project last week (Jan. 3) and it’s expected to make a lofty debut on the Billboard 200. The LP features Future, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Rod Wave and more.

2025 is only a shade over a week old and Lil Baby is already hard at work to get the year started off right by his standards. Days after dropping a video for “F U 2X,” LB comes through with some new work and brought along some of his friends for the ride.

Linking up with Rod Wave and Rylo Rodriguez for the visuals to “By Myself,” hit the old block with some new toys as they roll up in the PJ’s in a Maybach while rocking blocks of ice just to shoot some dice on the hallway and count stacks of cash like it’s an everyday thing. You know they good in the hood if they flossing like that with no worries.

Speaking of the PJ’s, Project Pat is still doing his thing after all these decades and in his clip to “We Can Get Gangsta,” Project P has some heads on the block bust some impressive robotic moves to his cut to the point where we don’t know if these was fancy camera work or A.I. generated work. Still, pretty damn dope.

Malibu Studio Where Nicki Minaj & Doja Cat Recorded Albums Destroyed in Palisades Wildfire

Harbor Studios in Malibu, where stars including Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat have recorded blockbuster albums, has burned down in the Palisades wildfire, founder Zach Brandon revealed in a heartfelt Instagram post on Wednesday (Jan. 8).

“I am profoundly sad to announce that Harbor Studios has been lost to the Palisades Fire,” Brandon wrote alongside a photo showing the studio’s charred remains. “Harbor has been a staple in the music community since the 1990s — first, it was the recording studio for Joe Zawinul and his world famous Jazz Fusion group, ‘The Weather Report.’ Finally, in 2021, it became Harbor Studios. Named after one of the most important memories from my childhood, Harbor Studios quickly grew from a big, dreamy concept to a beloved staple in the recording industry.”

Plenty of star power walked through the Harbor Studios doors including Minaj, who recorded Pink Friday 2 in its entirety at the studio, while Doja Cat worked on her Scarlet album there.

Brandon continued: “I cried this morning, but not because Harbor burned down. I cried because it settled in with me that Harbor was taken from so many artists who cared so deeply about Harbor. It was a place of musical freedom… a sanctuary in the most literal sense of the word. I loved it.”

Brandon promised this isn’t the last of Harbor, stating that he and the studio builder have already begun taking steps toward reviving it in another iteration.

“This is not the end of Harbor. We are restarting from scratch (again)… nothing we haven’t done before,” Brandon wrote. “Not only that, but I have gained so much knowledge and experience from Harbor 1 that I will be implementing into the rebuild. I’ve taken the initial steps forward — the original studio builder and I have already begun planning what the new Harbor Studios is going to look like. Thankfully, the magic that has been bestowed upon us by our clients is something that can never leave. It’s in the soil, it’s in the air, and it’s in our souls. We will come back stronger from this.”

The west-side Palisades Fire has become the most destructive in LA history, according to the Associated Press. The blaze, fanned by strong, gusting winds has led to the evacuation of more than 30,000 people as it has grown to 15,800 acres with zero containment, per CBS News. Meanwhile, the east-side Eaton Fire has caused five deaths so far and doubled in size over the past day, currently burning 10,600 acres near Pasadena. As a result, more than 52,000 residents have evacuated their homes.

In light of the tragedy, Ariana Grande took to her Instagram Stories to write, “My heart is with everyone impacted by the devastating LA fires, sharing some organizations to support who are responding to those affected in real time.” She then linked to three organizations: the LAFD Foundation, California Community Foundation and Mutual AID LA Network. She also shared this graphic, with a list of evacuation and animal shelters in the area. The Weeknd shared the same post on his Stories.

Meanwhile, Billie Eilish also linked to the Los Angeles Fire Department, writing on her Stories of her hometown, “What’s going on in LA right now is sooo scary and devastating.”

Shawn Mendes shared the same resources, adding, “I’m sorry to those who have lost their homes already, I can’t imagine. As long as you are safe out there.”

Vanessa Hudgens urged fans to “keep an eye out for evacuation zones,” adding, “This is so scary. My heart breaks for everyone affected. Thank you to all the firefighters out there risking their lives.”

Paris Hilton wrote that she’s “praying for LA/California,” adding a graphic that promotes organizations including American Red Cross, Baby2Baby, Calfund Wildfire Recovery Fund, California Fire Foundation Wildfire and Disaster Relief Fund, LA Food Bank and Watch Duty.

Rolling Loud Co-Founder Accuses Drake of ‘Ducking’ Headlining Popular Festival

You know who’s never performed at Rolling Loud? Drake. And it’s not for a lack of trying.

Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif made an appearance on Big Boy’s Neighborhood recently and was asked which artist the festival hasn’t been able to book for whatever reason. Big Boy gave him an out by suggesting that he didn’t necessarily have to name the person in question, but Cherif didn’t hold back.

“I’ll say it. I don’t care,” Cherif replied. “I feel like Drake’s ducking us.”

Adding, “I got no beef with Drake. I like Drake. I think he’s a great artist… We’ve been trying to book him forever. We even offered Drake three nights of Drake once. They were like, ‘You need to make it special.’ Like, ‘All right, three nights of Drake.’ You’d be the headliner for three nights.” Cherif then revealed that he heard rumors that a European festival is working on “stealing” their idea, but didn’t name names like he did with the Toronto rapper.

Liberty Media Names Derek Chang as New President/CEO

Liberty Media, a major shareholder in Live Nation and SiriusXM, named Derek Chang as its new president/CEO, the company announced Wednesday (Jan. 8). He will begin his new role on Feb. 1. Liberty Media chairman John Malone will serve as interim CEO in the meantime.

Chang’s hiring follows the departure of longtime CEO Greg Maffei, who left at the end of 2024 and became a senior advisor to the company. A director at Liberty Media since 2021, Chang has had an expansive career in media, sports and entertainment, including tenures at the NBA, DIRECTV, Scripps, Charter and TCI. He joins Liberty Media from EverPass Media, a sports distribution joint venture formed with the NFL and RedBird Capital Partners. Chang will step down as executive chairman at EverPass but will remain on the company’s board. Prior to EverPass, Chang was the CEO of NBA China from 2018 to 2020.

“I am thrilled to welcome Derek as the CEO of Liberty Media,” Malone said in a statement. “His expertise in both operating and investment roles, extensive understanding of our industries and familiarity with Liberty make him the ideal leader for Liberty’s next chapter. Personally, I have worked with Derek for over 25 years and am consistently impressed by his leadership style, breadth of expertise and global perspective. I look forward to supporting him and the Liberty management team as they continue to drive shareholder value.”

Trending on Billboard

“I have had the privilege of working with John Malone and the Liberty team for many years during my time at TCI and DIRECTV and later as a board member of Starz and Liberty, and I have long admired their track record of value creation for investors and partners,” Chang said in a statement. “Our current focus is clear: optimizing the portfolio structure with the split-off of Liberty Live and supporting the growth of our attractive operating assets, including F1 and MotoGP post-acquisition, to continue their momentum and invest for the future. Looking further, Liberty has always been long-term-minded in its investment mandate yet nimble to move quickly on new opportunities. Both of these things will remain true in our strategy going forward.”

Chang takes over as CEO two months after Liberty Media announced its intention to split off the Liberty Live Group into a separate public company, effectively turning Liberty Media into an independent with holdings in motorsports — including Formula 1 and Meyer Shank Racing — currently housed in its Formula One Group. Liberty Live includes the company’s 30% stake in concert promoter Live Nation, 7% stake in Kroenke Arena Company and 7% stake in Overtime Sports, among other assets. Liberty Media is no longer an investor in satellite broadcaster SiriusXM after merging its Liberty SiriusXM Holdings tracking stock with SiriusXM common stock in September 2024.
