Joaquin Phoenix’s iteration of the Joker in Todd Phillips’ 2019 film centered around the iconic Batman villain was arguably the greatest version of the Clown Prince of Crime moviegoers had seen to date (Heath Ledger is up there too). And though the film was originally said to be a one-off affair, fans of the film demanded more. Now, we’re getting a sneak peak of what to expect in the follow-up to the cult classic that captivated a comic book nation just a few years ago.

After months of anticipation, Warner Bros. has just released the first trailer for the upcoming JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX, which once again stars Phoenix as the titular character and Lady Gaga as the new Harley Quinn of the DCEU. Breaking ground as the first musical live-action comic book film made, the film will pick up where Joker left off as he was institutionalized at Arkham Asylum where he ultimately meets his counterpart in Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga) who feeds off his crazy as he does hers.

Though plot details aren’t really known, it seems like the film will be a sort of Natural Born Killers affair as the two ultimately break out of Arkham Asylum and wreck havoc on the streets of Gotham City while singing show tunes and dancing away the pain of their past as they evade the law.
Seems like a hit to us.

Days after Godzilla: Minus One hit theaters and moved audiences to tears (it was quite the moving affair), Warner Bros. released the first official trailer for their latest Godzilla installment. And it looks like it’s going to be an action-packed monster mash-up of a movie.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire seems to pick up where 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong. Humanity continues to discover that below the surface of the world lies an unknown habitat where gargantuan beasts and monsters roam and are ready to make the earth their own. With a new red-haired ape the size of the Statue of Liberty looking to crown himself king, it’s now on King Kong and Super Saiyan-ish Godzilla to team together to stop the latest threat to mankind.
The film’s synopsis breaks down what to expect in The New Empire.

The epic battle continues! Legendary Pictures’ cinematic Monsterverse follows up the explosive showdown of “Godzilla vs. Kong” with an all-new adventure that pits the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence—and our own. “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” delves further into the histories of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.
Did we mention that there’s a baby Kong involved to? Gotta move Kong merchandise out on these streets.

Diddy says he was banned from being The Joker by Warner Bros. after his costume last year, but he would troll the company by becoming The Batman for this year’s festivities.

Having a Halloween costume be so good that you’re prohibited from donning it again doesn’t seem like a real problem but for Diddy, it was. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday (October 30), the entertainment mogul was asked by the host what he planned to do for Halloween. “Last year, I was the Joker, and I actually got a letter from the studio that I can no longer be the Joker,” Diddy responded. When Kimmel asked why, he stated: “They said it broke their trademark, that I did it too good. I swear I have this letter. I swear to God. From Warner Bros.”

When Diddy dressed up as The Joker, his uncanny portrayal became one of the top stories of Halloween stopping everyone he came across in their tracks from Tyler The Creator to Power actor Michael J. Ferguson. Diddy actually showed off the letter on his Instagram. “This is six full papers right here, I’m not even going to show the business on the paper.” He then said he wouldn’t do it again, but ended the video off with a screen saying “Stay Tuned”.

“Well do it again, then. Do it again!”, Kimmel said with a laugh. “So tomorrow… Warner Bros. lawyers, can you see me?” Diddy replied. “Put this camera on right here. The head of legal: Tomorrow, watch what I do.”
True to his word, Diddy made the reveal on his Halloween costume for 2023, revealing to the world through his Instagram account that he would be The Batman. The clip shows him as “The Darkest Knight”, showing him driving the actual Batmobile from director Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy while purportedly putting an end to the strike between the writers and the Hollywood studios. His youngest daughter Love Sean Combs makes a cameo appearance in the clip at the end.

Do you want to see a dumb idea? Warner Bros Discovery did something nobody wanted them to do dropped HBO from HBO Max, and now, it’s just known as Max.
Wednesday, April 12, during a press event at Stage 14 on its Burbank lot, Warner Bros Discovery officially unveiled Max, which will combine programming from the streaming services formerly known as HBO Max and Discovery, and it will officially go live on May 23.
It will cost potential subscribers $15.99, according to The Verge.

“This is a real moment for us … This is our time,” CEO David Zaslav said during his opening remarks.
He continued, “This is our chance, and I feel like, for our company, this is our rendezvous with destiny.”
The rebrand news comes almost a year after the $43 billion Warner Media-Discovery merger closed. 2023 also happens to be the 100th anniversary of the founding of Warner Bros.
According to JB Perrette, President & CEO of Global Streaming & Games, Warner Bros Discovery, the decision to rebrand and put all of the content in one place is to help Max stand out “in a sea of streaming services.”
He continued, “In this era of peak confusion, we’re trying to simplify and improve the experience for consumers.
Twitter Thinks The Rebrand To Max Is A Stupid Idea
There were also announcements of new original programming coming to Max, including another Game of Thrones prequel show, The Penguin, a Harry Potter reboot, and much more.

The news of the rebrand did not land positively. Variety said in a report that the company’s stock immediately took a hit and was down 6% after the announcement.
Even with the news of all the new shows, Twitter has been roasting Warner Bros Discovery for changing the name of the steaming service.
“Getting rid of the HBO in HBO Max is probably one of the most insane marketing decisions in tv history,” one Twitter user wrote.

Warner Bros. has brought the axe down once again, this time canceling daytime staples Judge Mathis and The People’s Court after over twenty years on television.

According to reports, both syndicated daytime television shows will be done for good at the end of this present season. For Judge Mathis, the show will end after 24 seasons, and The People’s Court will close out at the end of its 26th season. The People’s Court is the longest-running traditional court television show when all of its editions are included (the original series, helmed by Judge Joseph Warner ran from 1981 until 1993) at 39 seasons. It’s the second longest court show overall following behind Divorce Court.

Judge Greg Mathis, formerly of Michigan’s 36th District Court, became the longest-running Black male television host and the second-longest judge presiding over a courtroom television show in continuous production in history. Judith Sheindlin, star of Judge Judy, has the lead with 25 seasons. During that time, the show snagged a 2004 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding News, Talk or Information Series and earned a Daytime Emmy in 2018 for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program. Mathis also delved into reality television with Mathis Family Values, which made its debut last year on the E! Network. The show centered on his life in Los Angeles, California with his wife, Linda Reese, and his children and grandchildren.
The People’s Court has been presided over by former Miami Circuit Court Judge Marilyn Milian since 2001. She stands as the first Latina to ever host a nationally syndicated traditional courtroom show. Milian took over after Judge Jerry Sheindlin (husband of Judge Judy) was let go after he took over in 1999. Prior to that, former New York City mayor Ed Koch helmed the show in its return to television. TMZ head Harvey Levin has served as the show’s legal reporter, and Doug Llewellyn made his return to the show to interview litigants after a judgment has been made.
Sources close to the decision say that Warner Bros. moved to end both shows due to the shrinking landscape of syndicated daytime television programming. The decline in advertising dollars and station groups enlarging their local news broadcasts to save money are also factors in the decision. The news of the cancellations follows other major syndicated television programs taking a final bow, which include The Real, Maury, Dr. Oz, and Dr. Phil within the past year.
