NMIXX Shares Their Favorite Song to Perform & More | Fishing for Answers | Billboard

NMIXX plays ‘Fishing for Answers’ and they share the wildest show they’ve performed, why they love “Run for Roses” and more!

NMIXX:

Hi, we are NMIXX, and we’re here with Billboard ‘Fishing for Answers.’ What is the wildest show you’ve ever performed? I would say when NMIXX went to Mexico to perform at CAREFEST, I think the crowd had such an amazing energy, and we did a cover of “Despacito,” and the crowd really liked that. So that was a good memory for me. What’s your biggest fear? Now. She says now because she’s so nervous to speak English, however she’s very happy. Yeah. When was the first time in your career you thought, “I’ve made it.” Our first concert. Zendaya. I agree.  What’s your favorite song to perform and your least favorite song to perform? “Run for Roses.” I agree. Yeah. You really suit that song. I really like this choreography. And I think “Run for Roses.” It’s long and it’s quite difficult. What has been your favorite destination? Here in Miami, it’s very beautiful. The beaches! This has been NMIXX.

So welcome to Billboard and White Claw here in beautiful Miami Beach. It’s a little bit windy. I hope I have my clip in case my hair goes all over the place. But we’re so lucky to have one of the greats of Latin music here. One of the greats of Reggaeton, urban music, trap, funk. This guy does it all. He has 15 songs on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, he currently has a song on the Billboard Hot 100. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s give it up for De la Ghetto!

De la Ghetto:
Good evening, everybody. How’s everybody feeling? We’re here. White Claw and Billboard in the building. Leila, you’re looking great.

So do you, honey. I’ve been running into you all over Miami, like, three times in the last few months.

Easy, Easy. Last time was on the panel.

On the panel, then at the Grammys.

I didn’t want to say.

No, no.

I don’t want Billboard to get mad.

In that other award right?

There were a couple of music awards.

That other award that wasn’t Billboard.

I don’t want to say.

No, let’s not. You were very fashionable all those times and tonight, too. Tell us what you’re wearing because these are white leather pants.

These are white leather pants, purple Nikes. I’m a Nike fanatic with the dunks and Air Forces.

Taylor Swift Celebrates Birthday With Eras Tour Themed Party | Billboard News

Taylor Swift celebrated her 35th birthday with an Eras Tour themed birthday party. Keep watching to see her sparkling event!

Narrator:
Taylor Swift goes all out for her 35th birthday. The “Fortnight”  singer celebrated by having an Eras themed party. An Instagram post from Brittany Mahomes, wife of NFL Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, showed the former soccer player decked out in an outfit that pays homage to Swift’s Fearless album along with Swift and a friend. Taylor’s had a huge year, so celebrating in a big way only makes sense. Her Eras Tour is officially the highest grossing tour of all time, by an artist of any genre, and from any era in music history. And talk about perfect timing, as Taylor’s birthday coincided with her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, topping the Billboard 200 for the 17th week this week, bringing her career total of weeks spent at No. 1 to 86. With 34 being such an impactful year for Taylor, we wish her the happiest of birthdays and we can’t wait to see what she does next.

Contributing to this discussion, I’m joined by L.A.’s very own The Game and D Smoke alongside Billboard‘s hip-hop and R&B guy Carl Lamarre. Just a few days ago, we began the selection process for L.A.’s Get Up anthems, and it was challenging, but with Billboard‘s exclusive chart data, we narrowed it down to just a few tracks that are in this bowl right now. They’re all up for discussion as we finalize the top 10 list and crown L.A.’s No. 1 Get Up Anthem. Before we jump into our exciting discussions, let’s toast L.A.’s diverse and illustrative musical legacy with a glass of Tres Generaciones Tequila. So here’s to the city where dreams come true. Cheers, fellas. This is good, Jess.

Wow, “We Can Freak It” Kurupt. Favorite backyard party song for sure, period.

Narrator:
The drama between Cardi B and Offset heats up! On Wednesday, the former couple aired out their grievances for one another in a very public spat via social media. Over the weekend, the pair were spotted in the same nightclub as Offset celebrated his 33rd birthday. Things took a turn when Cardi went on X accusing Offset of following her to the club. To which Offset responded with the following: “Nobody win when the fam fight stop capping to these ppl to make yourself look like the hoe, it ain’t the look, u a fire [woman] good music but you focus on *** and tryna make me look bad focus bra this *** is whack from us both honestly. Drop the album and go up.”

The “Enough” rapper didn’t take kindly to Offset’s comments and responded on X, demanding that Offset sign the divorce papers. Cardi said: “So dating because I’m single means I’m just worried about ***? You sound like a dummy. **** off and sign the papers TODAY!”

Things didn’t stop there, as Offset publicly asked for split custody of their three children. Cardi B filed for divorce for the second time over the summer, but it appears the terms of the divorce are yet to be finalized. For more updates, stay locked here at Billboard.

Edgar Barrera Shares Stories Behind Peso Pluma, Karol G & Shakira’s Biggest Hits | Global No. 1s

Latin Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Edgar Barrera has left an indelible mark on Latin music through his genre-bending versatility and mastery of multiple instruments. He’s become the most in-demand songwriter, with 23 song credits as a songwriter and 19 as a producer on the Billboard Hot 100. From his collaborations with Peso Pluma and Grupo Frontera on “Tulum” to producing Becky G’s “Por el Contrario” featuring Ángela Aguilar and Leonardo Aguilar, and challenging Karol G to explore new musical territories, Barrera’s influence is undeniable. Keep watching to learn about his beginnings, his stories about working with Madonna and Shakira, his advice for other producers, and much more!

Edgar Barrera:

Karol is Selena’s number one fan. Number one fan. Shakira made me be a better producer because I’ve always said she’s really picky with her songs, her productions and everything. When I got to London, that morning he told me we had a session with Madonna. And I was like, “With Madonna, really?” And he said, “Yes, with Madonna.” Maluma and I worked for a while on the song and structured it, and when she came she said, “No, I want it to be this way.” I sent Peso… We sent him three options of songs. And that’s the one he chose. He chose “Tulum.” At the end, Becky told me she wanted to do a song with Ángela and Leonardo. “Why don’t we do it in mariachi?” First of all, I never thought of being here doing this, on this side of the window. I am always at the back, hidden and I try to have people not know too much about me. I like to be out of focus a bit. I’ve loved music since I was little because my dad is a musician. He has a band called Mister Chivo and I grew up listening to his music and the passion he feels for music, as well as… My mom is also passionate for music. There has been music playing all the time at home. I remember all those nights when, for example, I saw my dad with all the vinyl records listening and listening to music because the group recorded many covers.

Cassidy “Eazy Come Eazy Go,” KRS 1 “Krazy” & More | Daily Visuals 12.18.24

HipHopWired Featured Video

For the past few days the internet’s been buzzing with the messiness between Papoose, Remy Ma, Eazy The Block Captain and Claressa Shields, but now it seems like Philly OG Cassidy is taking issue with Eazy due to The Block Captain talking slick about the Swizz Beatz former protégé.

Dropping off some new visuals to “Eazy Come Eazy Go,” Cass takes to the studio to throw some sharp darts at the man who broke up the “Black Love” that the Hip-Hop community was praising for years and dragged him across the ave for mentioning his name. Does Cassidy age at all? Homie looks like a high school senior still.

From Philly to New York, Hip-Hop legend/icon, KRS 1 is still letting his gems flow and for his clip to “Krazy,” the blast master continues to spit bars that contain knowledge of self to inspire listeners to move accordingly in this world of chaos. Much respect, triple OG.

Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Lil Jarimy, Blu & Exile, and more.
