Gelo teams up with Glorilla for his new song, “Can You Please?” A new lineup for March Madness has dropped, and one of hip-hop’s biggest names is looking to invest in the WNBA. Here’s what’s going on in the world of sports. Gelo references his Memphis twin in his viral hit “Tweaker,” and it seems like he might have been referring to Glo! Gelo released his new song, “Can You Please?” featuring GloRilla, last Friday [March 7]. It seems like Gelo has been excited about releasing this song for a while. He even spoke about it on the podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Lonzo, back in January:

Gelo:
We might got to get out “Can You Please?” soon for them, bro.

Both of the Ball brothers have been super supportive of Gelo’s music career, and Lonzo shared a preview of “Can You Please?” with the Bulls locker room ahead of the song’s release.

Last week, Glo was announced as the headliner at the Women’s NCAA Final. Now, the star-studded lineup for the Men’s NCAA Final Four has also been announced! The party kicks off with Pitbull headlining the AT&T Block Party on April 4, with our Woman of the Year, Doechii, performing earlier in the day. Jelly Roll keeps the party going the next day, April 5th, headlining Coca-Cola Live! with additional performances from T-Pain. Chris Stapleton closes out the weekend on April 6, headlining the CapitalOne Fest.

From headliners to a potential team owner, Eminem has reportedly joined a bid to try to bring a WNBA team to Detroit. He’s reported to be partnering with former Pistons player Grant Hill and current Lions quarterback Jared Goff on this effort. Eminem isn’t the only big name eyeing WNBA ownership — several sports stars are also vying for teams.

Miley Cyrus is involved in a copyright lawsuit filed over allegations that her Grammy-winning “Flowers” infringed the Bruno Mars song “When I Was Your Man.” But what do fans think?

At a recent hearing in Los Angeles, a federal judge looks unlikely to immediately dismiss the lawsuit accusing Cyrus. In her first response back in November, attorneys for Miley said that the total lack of involvement from Bruno himself and two of the song’s other co-writers required the outright dismissal of the lawsuit.

It’s easy to say, like oh, they’re being bitter, but my dad’s a songwriter, so I definitely understand the like, if they want to fight it out. They deserve the chance to, I guess, because, like, they worked really hard on it. Bruno Mars can go from this to this to that, but if you’re a songwriter you don’t know when your next thing is.

I know your family, and your children as well. So, there is a closeness and affection there since always. 

The feeling is totally mutual. I should say that the first time I came to Chile and to Viña del Mar was for a Festival de Viña where Myriam was the lead. 

It was in 2005.

And you welcomed me in Hotel O’Higgins. Do you remember?

Exactly.

At the Hotel O’Higgins with a bottle of Carménère, which was the first time that I drank Carménère in my life. I remember a lot.

How beautiful, but you’re always welcome here, always.

Myriam, you did Viña for five years?

This came up. Well, I lived in Miami. You remember I lived there for 10 years. And in 2001 they invited me — well, they sent me the invitation in December for the festival in 2002. At first, I got really nervous because it was like I’m not a host, and I took this as a challenge. I said, “Well, it’s one night and it’s the overture for the festival,” and in the end, I stayed for five years with different hosts.

Billboard‘s resident WWE expert Carl Lamarre went to Monday Night RAW at Madison Square Garden to check on the fans after an eventful few weeks, and we take you there [with] Billboard All Access. As people lined up to head into the venue, we stopped to ask them a few questions. 

Carl Lamarre:
John Cena or Cody Rhodes?

Fan 3: 
Well, I think he will beat him in Wrestlemania. 

Fan 4:
John Cena can never do me wrong, man — that’s my childhood hero. 

Fan 1:
Gotta go Cena, gotta go Cena. 

Carl Lamarre:

He could turn on anybody, and at the end of the day, I’m gonna stick by his side.

For the visuals to the Sid Sriram assisted “Times,” Nas and Steel kick it in a luxury studio overlooking the city where Nas and company lay out the track and scenes of how both the Black and Indian community go about their everyday lives play throughout to remind us that our communities share more similarities and differences in the grand scheme of things. Nas will forever be a harbinger of knowledge in the Hip-Hop game.

Wiz Khalifa meanwhile seems well on his way to reaching a status only a handful of people on earth know and in the clip for the Ty Dolla $ign featured “Billionaires,” he and Ty kick it in the studio with Ivana Trump looking women who don’t necessarily look like they know how to bop to the beat, but hey, they hot white women and when you’re a successful rapper that’s all that matters, right?

Hi, friends at Billboard! Today we’re here in Chile, and look at who we brought from Miami! Now we’re in Chile at Viña del Mar, how are you, Ha*Ash?

Ha*Ash:
We’re so happy with life, emotional, grateful. It’s our second time at Viña del Mar, so … We’re so happy to talk to you. 

Aw, how cute! So the last time you were here was 2018. How do the emotions feel this time around because, obviously, it’s totally different. This time you’re going to be singing. 

Well, the first time we came we were judges and we sang and it was a beautiful experience. We’ve talked about it a lot, but they were feelings that marked a “before” and an “after” in our career because Viña is watched by all of Latin America, and it was an opportunity for people to get to know our music. And I remember that there were countries where we were going to do performances in theaters, but after Viña we were able to do stadiums. So it was a “before” and “after” that was really important for us, and we’re so grateful for Viña. Now that we’ve received the invitation to come back again, we got really emotional because now we’re touring all over South America, and it’s a festival that we have a lot of appreciation for. It’s very prestigious, and it’s a monster, but we’re happy because our Chilean fans make us feel worthy of being here.

Beyoncé said she is done with movies! Her mama, Tina, broke it all down as we look back at some of Queen Bey’s iconic roles. It’s been more than 10 years since we have seen Beyoncé onscreen, and her mom Tina Knowles shared a clip of her as Etta James and captioned:

“This is still one of my favorite movies, and it makes me miss the fact that my child decided not to continue with movies.”

Before saying goodbye, Beyoncé starred in films like ‘Carmen: A Hip Hopera,’ ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember,’ the Oscar-winning ‘Dreamgirls’ and a few more cult classics. She has continued in voiceover work for 2019’s ‘Lion King’ and 2024’s ‘Mufasa’ in which she was joined by her daughter Blue Ivy and heads to streaming on March 26. Kidd Voodoo on How He Started Making Reggaeton, His Love for Rock & More | Billboard In Conversation 

Kidd Voodoo shares his experience of being on the panel for Viña Del Mar, how he went from making rock music to reggaeton, why he chose Kidd Voodoo as his stage name, his feelings about Chilean music starting to spread, defining Chilean slang and more!

David, welcome to Billboard!

Kidd Voodoo:
Thank you.

Well, for the people that don’t know, David is Kidd Voodoo. So here in Chile, you guys know him by his artistic name, Kidd Voodoo. He’s one of the biggest trap rappers in Chile at this moment, but his real name is David León. In other words, why Kidd Voodoo? 

Because I needed to start releasing music and I wanted to give myself a name. In that moment in Chile, it was really trendy to put a prefix like it was in the United States, putting “Lil” or “Kid,” too. So I preferred to put “Kid” because there were a couple of artists that I really liked that had it and I needed to upload the song in that moment because I had already announced it.

So you didn’t have a lot of time to think about this?

No, I thought about it a lot, but I said, “If I never get this song out, I’m never going to start this.” So I said, “OK let’s go through with this,” and I looked at the pedals of the guitar and someone said, “Kidd Voodoo — it doesn’t sound too bad.”

So because of a guitar pedal that had nothing to do with rap, truthfully–

Exactly. 

Well, it was a song about what? Was it rock, or was it rap?

Rap. It was a rap song, trap. Yep, and from there the name stuck and now I’m here.
